00:00 I'm joined by Ben Cunnington here, playing the longest day, 72 holes for the Cancer Council,
00:05 along with Dan O'Keefe and Aaron Black from the Warrnambool Footy Club.
00:09 Ben, how's it going so far?
00:10 Yeah, so far so good. We're 27 down. We started nice and early. I think quarter to six was tee-off time.
00:17 First round we all shot in the 30s, stable foot points, so good first round.
00:21 But the main reason is to raise awareness and some funds for cancer research and a cancer-free future.
00:28 So this is a cause close to your heart?
00:30 Yeah, absolutely. Obviously with my background, but they reckon one in two people before 85 will be diagnosed with cancer.
00:38 So it's going to affect a lot of people. So the more people can get behind it,
00:41 the more better off we'll be for the future in handling these situations.
00:45 And the aim for this, obviously, is to raise money and, as you said, a cancer-free future.
00:48 Yeah, that's right. So 72 holes is obviously a fair effort.
00:52 So we're just trying to raise some awareness and do our bit to get a cancer-free future and for research.
00:59 It's good to have these boys on board as well?
01:01 Yeah, that's right. Obviously Doc's a recent pro, as he tells us, but he's leading the charge.
01:07 But Blackie's hitting them nice too, so good mix.
01:10 And do you fancy yourself much of a golfer?
01:12 Don't fancy. I enjoy it, but we're getting there. We're playing some good shots.
01:17 And how do you reckon you'll pull off after the end of this?
01:19 I think we might be a little bit burnt. The wind and the sun's starting to come out now,
01:23 but all for a good cause, so we're enjoying it.
01:26 That's good. Thanks for the chat, Ben.
