00:00 I just want to say Merry Christmas, you filthy animals.
00:04 Macaulay Culkin gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and his two sons with actress
00:08 Brenda Song are there to make their first public appearance.
00:12 The Home Alone star poses with fiancé Brenda and their son Dakota as he cements his place
00:17 in Hollywood history, and the two-year-old nearly steals the spotlight from his dad thanks
00:22 to his epic baby mohawk.
00:24 And while the name of their younger son has yet to be revealed, we do know he's already
00:28 stylin'.
00:29 The man sports a sweater-vest combo to the big event.
00:32 So cute.
00:33 Macaulay later gets emotional talking about how much his family means to him in his speech.
00:39 Thanks for having me.
00:40 Don't tell me what to do.
00:41 Alright, fine, fine.
00:42 First, I'd just like to thank everyone for coming.
00:43 I just, there's so many people that I've met, and I just want to say thank you to everyone.
00:44 I just want to say thank you to my family.
00:45 I just want to say thank you to my family.
00:46 I just want to say thank you to my family.
00:47 I just want to say thank you to my family.
00:48 I just want to say thank you to my family.
00:49 I just want to say thank you to my family.
00:50 I just want to say thank you to my family.
00:51 I just want to say thank you to my family.
00:52 I just, there's so many people that I love, and to feel that love back is just amazing.
01:04 So thank you.
01:14 Catherine and Natasha, thanks for all your kind words and your stories and stuff.
01:20 You know, it's, you made my kid's dad, their papa, look good.
01:29 And the most important thing to me is also that their papa understands that he wasn't
01:32 always his papa.
01:33 Like, there was, he also used to be a kid too, you know.
01:39 Thank you Steve Nissen and Anna Martinez and the Walk of Fame committee for honoring me
01:44 in this way.
01:45 Yeah, no, I mean, I feel such esteem, you know, like from this whole thing.
01:52 There's a couple people I want to single out today.
01:57 Michelle Vega.
02:03 We've worked together for like 20 years, everything from just general publicity to like trips
02:07 to Disneyland and, you know, just dealing with my pizza band.
02:11 You remember that?
02:15 You just always work so tirelessly for me.
02:19 So thank you.
02:21 I love you.
02:24 Next I'd like to thank Emily Gerson Saines.
02:27 There you are.
02:31 The first time I met Emily, I was 13 years old and I had one foot out the door of Hollywood
02:37 and she just stuck around and she stuck around and she stuck around and then, you know, I
02:48 probably quit more projects than I've actually done with you, to be honest, to be fair.
02:54 But you know, you stuck around and you stuck around and you stuck around.
02:58 And so just thanks for sticking around.
03:04 Thanks for believing in me and my family.
03:08 I love you so much, but you're my family and I love you.
03:15 I wish Max was here, but I know he is.
03:21 Also I want to give my love to Ken Weinrib.
03:25 It's not so remarkable that I've had a lawyer since I was 10 years old.
03:29 It's the fact that I've had the same lawyer since I was 10 years old.
03:35 You're my friend.
03:36 You're my advisor.
03:38 You're my family.
03:41 And just thanks for always looking out for me.
03:44 I love you.
03:47 Yeah, lastly, but not leastly, I'd like to thank Brenda.
03:59 You are absolutely everything.
04:05 You're my champion.
04:06 You're the only person happier for me today than I am.
04:11 You're not only the best woman I've ever known, you're the best person I've ever known.
04:17 You've given me just all my purpose.
04:21 You've given me family.
04:25 And after the birth of our two boys, you've become one of my three favorite people.
04:31 You're somewhere in there.
04:34 But I love you.
04:35 I love you so much.
04:38 So yeah, to wrap things up, and in the spirit of the holiday season, I just want to say
04:43 Merry Christmas, you filthy animals.
04:46 [APPLAUSE]
04:50 Macaulay's Home Alone mom, actress Catherine O'Hara, is also on hand to gush about her
04:54 co-star.
04:55 Well, I have a little speech to make about you.
04:58 So pretend you're not here.
05:03 After Home Alone opened, I went to see it at a Saturday matinee in a theater packed
05:09 with shiny, happy children and their parents.
05:12 And it was thrilling for all of us.
05:13 But at one point, I saw two boys get up out of their seats, so not wanting to leave the
05:18 movie.
05:19 But after having already sucked back their giant sodas, they really had to go.
05:23 So they started running up the aisle, then suddenly panicked that they might miss something
05:27 great.
05:28 They turned around, looked back at the screen, and one of them said, it's OK.
05:31 No, it's just a mom.
05:33 And they kept running.
05:35 I say, bright boys, bright boys, Home Alone was, is, and always will be a global-- I'd
05:42 love a global sensation.
05:45 The reason, the reason it's that, the reason families all over the world can't let a year
05:51 go by without watching and loving Home Alone together is because of Macaulay Culkin.
05:57 Yes.
05:58 Yes, he had a most excellent script and a wonderful director.
06:04 But it is Macaulay's perfect performance as Kevin Macalester that gave us that little
06:13 every boy on an extraordinary adventure.
06:16 I know you worked really hard.
06:18 I know you did.
06:19 But you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world to do.
06:22 It really was as if we had ambushed the home of this real little boy named Kevin to make
06:27 a movie.
06:28 And he just went along with it for the fun of it.
06:31 He's the dearest thing.
06:33 OK.
06:34 Oh, the scene where I had to drag him upstairs to sleep in the attic because he'd misbehaved.
06:41 And he says, you know, he's mouthing off about the family.
06:45 And I say, well, you'd be pretty sad if you woke up tomorrow morning and you had no family.
06:50 And he said, no, I wouldn't.
06:53 And I was supposed to say, then say it again.
06:57 Maybe it'll happen.
06:58 And I can't tell you how much that killed me.
07:00 I could not wrap my head around saying something so horrific to this beautiful child.
07:06 Of course, I was not yet a mother at the time.
07:09 And I had no idea the kind of things that would come out of my mouth with my own two
07:15 sons.
07:16 Macaulay, a 10-year-old boy, this 10 beautiful, dear little 10-year-old boy was called a superstar,
07:25 a moneymaker.
07:26 One of the hottest leading young men in Hollywood by the world over.
07:33 How does anyone survive that?
07:35 Well, I believe you'd have to possess a certain quality, a gift that dear John Hughes obviously
07:41 recognized in you, Macaulay, your sense of humor.
07:45 It's a sign of intelligence in a child and a key to surviving life at any age.
07:50 And you have, from what I see, you have brought that sense of sweet yet twisted, yet totally
07:58 relatable sense of humor to everything that you have chosen to do since Home Alone.
08:04 Macaulay, congratulations.
08:06 You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
08:09 And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you Home Alone not once but twice
08:15 to share in this happy occasion.
08:16 I'm so proud of you.
08:17 God bless you.
08:18 [APPLAUSE]
08:18 Kevin MacAllister, you did good.
08:23 Thank you.
