PCG: Higit 135 Chinese maritime militia vessels namataan sa Julian Felipe Reef

  • last year

00:00 The National Task Force on the West Philippine Sea is warning of the continued increase of Chinese maritime militia vessels in Julian Felipe Reef.
00:09 In the last patrol of the Philippine Coast Guard this weekend, the militia vessels in Bahura were seen.
00:16 Julian Felipe Reef is located 175 nautical miles or 324 kilometers in the far part of the town of Bataraza in Palawan.
00:26 Julian Felipe Reef is included in the territorial scene of the Kalayaan Island Group, which is why it can be considered that the Philippines has a right here.
00:34 What is more interesting is that even if we challenged them through radio, none of those vessels ever responded to our radio calls.
00:47 Within five days, CNN Philippines joined the routine rotation and resupply mission, or RORE, of the Philippine Coast Guard in the Kalayaan Islands.
00:56 The first stopover was Pag-asa Island.
00:59 Even though we were not able to get down from the BRP Cabra, we were able to see the Chinese Coast Guard ship,
01:05 which was also passed by a Chinese Navy vessel and several militia vessels.
01:10 From Pag-asa, we went to Likas Island, which is more than 18 hectares and is considered a giant sea turtle sanctuary.
01:18 We have now arrived at Likas, one of the Philippine Occupied Features in the Kalayaan Island Group.
01:24 They are now doing a resupply mission for the Philippine troops there in Likas.
01:29 After this, we will go to Patag and Lawak.
01:33 The big ships cannot get close, so they are being transported by a rubber boat and a Vigetacol inflatable boat or VIB.
01:42 Due to the high tide and the changing weather, our trip to Patag Island took five hours.
01:50 After that, the Coast Guard's assignment, Arnel, was just finished in Patag Island.
01:54 It is a pleasure to serve our country and to guard our territory.
02:03 It is difficult because of the water. When the water runs out, it is only water that can survive.
02:09 Especially when it rains, there is no electricity. It is a generator.
02:14 If Arnel is back, Fritz Jebbert will go to his new assignment in Lawak Island.
02:20 He will be away from his family this Christmas, but he will keep his sworn duty.
02:26 It is an honor for us, we are one of the people entrusted by our organization.
02:32 We talked to our families, this is how it is in our service.
02:36 It is not always happy, sometimes there is sadness.
02:39 We do this not only for us, but for our family, but for everyone, for the country.
02:44 When it comes to Lawak Island, the weather is not good.
02:48 We tried to get closer to Lawak Island to see what the Philippines' occupied feature looks like.
02:55 But now, the waves are strong, the weather is not favorable, so we will just stay here.
03:01 Due to the difficulty of bringing supplies to the island, the resupply mission in Lawak Island was delayed until last night.
03:07 On our journey, there were also several radio challenges between the Philippines and China.
03:16 The NPFWPS promised that, like Pag-asa Island, the government will continue to develop the other islands in the free zone.
03:25 Tristan Udalo, CNN Philippines, Calayaan.
03:29 and.
