00:27 Welcome to the Barstool College Football Show Week 14 Conference Championship Week.
00:32 We are back here in Chicago after one hell of a weekend in Ann Arbor last week.
00:36 Dave, I know you're still probably feeling pretty good about what Michigan did last week.
00:40 Wrong, wrong.
00:42 Looking forward to the Big Ten Championship, rearview mirror.
00:45 I expected to win.
00:48 We won.
00:49 We took care of business.
00:50 We beat the inferior team like a drum for the third straight year.
00:53 We're moving forward.
00:56 Losers look back.
00:57 I'm looking forward.
00:58 Ev, how are you feeling over there?
01:00 Dead.
01:03 I mean, it's just the worst.
01:05 I mean, this, this, buckeye flu is getting a little too familiar.
01:09 It's getting, it's feeling too familiar the last few years.
01:12 It just stinks.
01:13 I mean, it's, it was a little different than last year.
01:15 Like we, it was a coin flip game.
01:17 I mean, we made the turnovers were the difference.
01:19 It was, well, it wasn't a coin flip game.
01:21 I don't want to talk about it, Evan.
01:22 No, it was a coin flip game.
01:23 No, it was a coin flip game.
01:24 I think people know I like you and I don't like to see you hurt and suffering.
01:30 It wasn't a coin flip game.
01:31 We made every big play we had to make.
01:33 You made none of the big plays.
01:35 Yeah.
01:35 So it took you to play a coin flip game.
01:37 We beat your ass.
01:38 So it took for you to play perfect to win is what you're saying.
01:41 That's what you really just said.
01:42 You had to play absolutely perfect to beat us is what you made every big play fat boy.
01:46 So, so what you said, you had to play perfect to beat us.
01:49 That's not what I said.
01:51 Every big play was made by Michigan.
01:54 It wasn't a coin flip.
01:55 If we played a hundred times, every big play would be made by Michigan.
01:59 You can't beat us.
02:00 Yeah.
02:00 I mean, that's just not, see now like the, you know, a little, your six were cute.
02:05 Now you're just talking about your ass.
02:06 I, you won, you got it.
02:07 You get, you know, you get to the victory.
02:09 What is not true about what I just said?
02:12 That you didn't beat the shit.
02:15 It was a coin flip game.
02:16 That's a fact.
02:16 I mean, until the, until the final minute, you were sitting in a puddle of sweat,
02:22 whether you're going to win or lose the game.
02:23 Every big play we make, we're Michigan, you're not.
02:26 Deal with it.
02:27 I, okay.
02:31 So, so, uh, neutral party here, Buckeye, Brandon and Big Ev.
02:36 I've said nothing.
02:37 But, but for Buckeye, Brandon and Big Ev, I have made the claim and I actually think it
02:44 might be true.
02:45 I've thought about it.
02:46 There's maybe a couple other points in history.
02:48 You can look in sports.
02:49 This might've been the worst loss in, for a fan base ever, because this was a skins game.
02:56 This was a football golf skins game where it was basically Ohio state was playing for not
03:00 just this year, but the last two years.
03:02 And if they had won this game, essentially everything would have been erased in Ohio
03:06 state and Buckeye, Brandon and Big Ev would have been able to say, none of this mattered.
03:10 You guys cheated when you didn't cheat.
03:12 We, you know, the, the universe was restored back to its regular place.
03:16 Ohio state's better than Michigan.
03:18 That didn't happen.
03:19 It's gotta be the most painful thing ever.
03:21 Like it really is.
03:22 Can I ask you what I just asked?
03:25 Ed, because you're the only unbiased one here.
03:27 I know Buckeye, Brandon, if these teams played a hundred times, we're beating them a hundred
03:32 times.
03:33 We make the plays.
03:34 They don't.
03:34 That's what it, whatever they have, the ball, 35 yard line, they have the ball, the 35 yard
03:39 line down six.
03:40 You were too nervous.
03:41 You couldn't even sit on the fucking couch.
03:42 You were walking around behind us.
03:43 You're talking out your ass, right?
03:45 You're lying is what he's doing.
03:46 He's lying.
03:47 What are we talking about?
03:48 He's like a drum.
03:49 We were driving with the ball to win the game.
03:51 If unbiased, unbiased, if they played a hundred times and Ryan Day is the coach for Ohio state
03:58 all a hundred times, I think Michigan wins 70 times.
04:00 Cause Ryan Day has found a way.
04:03 No, cause Ryan Day has not been able to figure out how, like he plays a conservative game.
04:09 He doesn't have any extra juice for this game.
04:11 Like the Michigan guys, you can see it.
04:13 This rivalry means something.
04:15 Urban Meyer, I've always said Urban Meyer's best thing that he ever did was getting guys
04:19 from Florida and Texas and California to hate Michigan.
04:23 Guys who have no reason to hate Michigan to make that rivalry mean something.
04:26 Ryan Day has not been able to do that.
04:28 That's his biggest problem.
04:29 They don't play with that edge that Michigan has.
04:31 What is Ryan Day going to do to make his quarterback not make two mistakes?
04:35 That's literally the difference in the game.
04:36 The quarterback made two mistakes.
04:37 Well, I don't even think a second one was a mistake.
04:39 But what do you like that?
04:40 No, that was the difference.
04:42 What's Ryan Day going to do?
04:42 It was a clean game versus the two turnovers.
04:44 That was the difference.
04:45 Here's the difference of the game, Buckeye, Brandon, Big F.
04:48 Eight minutes to go and we took seven minutes and 30 seconds off the clock.
04:52 That was impressive.
04:53 Running it down your fucking throat.
04:55 That was impressive.
04:55 When you're like, oh, in those last minute drive, the clock was against you with no timeout.
05:00 You barely got the ball back.
05:01 That is a team that kicked the schnot out of you.
05:04 How do you not get that?
05:06 If you're so good, you get the ball back.
05:08 We took the ball.
05:09 We got the ball back.
05:10 So we got the ball back.
05:12 Hold on.
05:12 And the other big difference.
05:14 So you can point to turnovers.
05:15 That's fine.
05:16 Ryan Day at the end of the first half, when he has a fourth and two in plus territory
05:21 and whatever it was, 35 seconds left and a timeout in his back pocket, did chicken shit
05:26 football.
05:27 He's like, I don't trust my offense to get a first down here.
05:29 I have Marvin Harrison.
05:30 These are the type of moments that you have to take.
05:34 You can't just sit back and say, we're going to let this kicker, who's never kicked a kick
05:39 over 50 yards in a rivalry game, cold wind, all the things that are in it.
05:43 He's like, I'm going to have this kid, the kicker, try to do something he's never been
05:46 able to do before.
05:47 Instead of trusting Marvin Harrison Jr. and trying to take this moment and take this game
05:53 instead of just passively sitting there.
05:54 That's a good point.
05:55 That's a good point.
05:56 Here's why.
05:56 I can't believe we're having this conversation.
06:00 Michigan has punted once in the second half in three fucking years.
06:05 Shut the fuck up, I've got Brandon in the back.
06:08 We're talking about this game, this game, not the last two games.
06:11 We're talking about this game.
06:13 Notre Dame, when you guys play Notre Dame, your new rivals, stick with them.
06:17 They went for it twice on fourth and one, I believe.
06:20 Didn't get it either time.
06:21 Three for three on fourth down, up the fucking middle in your face, fat boy.
06:26 Stop saying you belong on the same field with us.
06:29 One punt in three second halves.
06:31 This defense, that's all Buckeye Brandon talked about.
06:35 One punt in three years of the second half.
06:37 Get the hell out of my face.
06:39 We're on to the playoffs.
06:41 To Dan's point about Ryan Day, the last three years, he has not figured out what adjustments
06:45 in the second half to do against Michigan.
06:48 It's not just this year, it's the past three years.
06:50 Ryan Day, Ohio State.
06:51 Look at Buckeye Brandon, he knows he's just going to run over.
06:54 I don't know what Ryan Day was supposed to do this time.
06:56 No, no, end of the half is what I'm talking about.
06:59 But second half adjustments, they played well in the second half.
07:01 Ryan Day's issue is, Ohio State recruits at such a level and is so good of a team that
07:07 Ryan Day can go out there for all the other 39 Big Ten games he's won and win them by
07:13 just letting the guys play ball.
07:14 When you play Michigan, you have to have something special.
07:18 You have to have, you have to go take the game.
07:20 He has not been able to do that.
07:21 He has a problem with that.
07:23 And that's why they are now, three years in a row, getting beat by Michigan.
07:27 Somebody, Buckeye Brandon or Big Ab, please explain to me how Ohio State has lost one
07:34 punt in the second half in three years and think you have a shot at beating us.
07:39 Someone explain that.
07:40 I'm on fire.
07:40 We literally had it, like, what are you, we had a shot at beating you at the end.
07:43 Like, what are you talking about?
07:45 Your last two years don't matter.
07:46 We're going with this game.
07:46 You're saying that because you got your ball back with like five seconds to go.
07:49 No, it was a minute.
07:49 It was a minute.
07:50 It was a full minute.
07:50 It was a full minute.
07:52 You're lying.
07:52 You're lying.
07:53 It was a full minute and the clock stops after timeout or after first downs.
07:56 That's an eternity in college football.
07:58 I like you.
07:59 I don't want to have to keep beating you.
08:00 It's a inch of your life.
08:03 Okay, so let's move forward.
08:05 I think I made the mistake of asking Dave how it felt.
08:07 He's an idiot.
08:08 It's crazy.
08:08 Like, I mean, he said it was a coin flip game.
08:11 We literally like, yes, it fucking, we had the ball.
08:15 You were sweating your dick off with 30 seconds left.
08:18 I feel like you were going to lose.
08:19 Yeah.
08:20 Like, what are we talking about?
08:21 It was not a blowout.
08:23 They did not run away with it in the fourth quarter.
08:26 We had the ball to win the game.
08:27 They got some pressure in the middle.
08:28 We made a bad throw and that was the game.
08:30 It felt like you almost stole it and you didn't.
08:34 You didn't deserve that game.
08:35 Okay, let's move forward.
08:36 I feel like we could do an entire episode on this, but let's move forward.
08:39 Because we do have.
08:39 It's disgusting.
08:41 They're ruining our credibility.
08:42 These two idiots.
08:44 This fucking.
08:45 Still going to get embarrassed in the playoff.
08:46 Okay.
08:47 I mean, yeah, Dave, you got to win a playoff game this year.
08:49 You have to win a playoff game.
08:50 Dave has to win a playoff game.
08:50 Harbaugh hasn't won a bowl game this decade.
08:52 So we are going to talk about the Big Ten Championship.
08:55 We're going to talk about that.
08:56 I agree.
08:56 I didn't even want to talk about Ohio.
08:57 They're not worth my time or anything.
08:59 That was your lead statement.
09:00 All you know, that was my fault.
09:02 That was my fault.
09:02 I did ask him how he felt.
09:04 I said I want.
09:05 I said I'm looking forward and I said it already.
09:07 If we don't win a playoff game this year is a disappointment.
09:10 Okay, so the high noon game day package of the conference championship weekend.
09:15 Of course, how hard is it to get this TV to work?
09:17 What is wrong with our tech?
09:18 How much money do I have to spend to get an Internet connection in that office?
09:23 So the high noon game day pack, everybody, the high noon El Pres back the tangerine,
09:29 the number one flavor for a lot of people who have tried it.
09:32 Of course, the limited edition game day pack is still out there as well.
09:34 Go to highnoonspirits.com to find any of the packs near you.
09:38 If you're having trouble finding it, they can help you get it.
09:40 Obviously, it's available on Drizzly as well.
09:43 Let's talk about the Pac-12 Championship.
09:44 So this show will be airing on Friday because this game tonight is massive.
09:48 A lot of times the Pac-12 Championship has not mattered when we've done this show.
09:51 So we just kind of skip over it.
09:52 But this one between Oregon and Washington, very, very big, Dan, I will start with you.
09:56 So number five, Oregon, number three, Washington.
09:58 Oregon right now favored by nine and a half.
10:00 That number has kept getting a little bit bigger.
10:02 The over-under, 65 and a half.
10:03 Now, obviously, people are looking at this nine and a half and saying,
10:06 well, we've seen them play this year.
10:08 Washington beat them in a shootout.
10:09 But for some reason, people are thinking Oregon is that much better
10:12 when they have this rematch.
10:13 Where do you stand?
10:14 Yeah, I mean, I thought Oregon was better when I watched the first game.
10:17 I've talked about this on Pick 'Em, but I had a future on Washington at 18 to 1.
10:22 And then I cashed out for a profit after they beat Oregon and flipped to Oregon
10:25 because I thought even though Washington won that first game,
10:28 Oregon was the better team.
10:29 And Washington's been kind of just like barely hanging on for the last month and a half.
10:35 And their defense is not great.
10:38 And they have to-- they asked Michael Penix to do a lot and hit those big chunk plays.
10:44 I think Oregon's going to beat them and actually beat them soundly.
10:47 I think I'm going to take Oregon minus nine and a half.
10:49 Brandon?
10:50 Two very good teams.
10:51 The winner's going-- this is a playoff game.
10:53 It basically is.
10:54 But I do think Oregon's getting a little bit too much credit for what they've done.
10:57 They have killed some teams.
10:59 They've also haven't beaten anybody that is better in eight and four.
11:02 Washington went 12 and 0 in a very tough Pac-12.
11:04 They haven't looked that impressive since Oregon.
11:06 But nine and a half is crazy.
11:07 Washington wants to play a shootout style.
11:10 Oregon wants to play a shootout style.
11:11 I believe nine and a half is too many, and Washington keeps it within the number.
11:14 I think Oregon probably wins.
11:16 I think they're slightly better.
11:17 They're not 10 points better.
11:18 Dave?
11:18 First of all, I want to apologize for getting that upset.
11:22 I do care about Big F.
11:24 I know he has nothing to live for, so I apologize, Big F.
11:27 Um, I actually here, uh, am with Brandon.
11:32 I-- I think Washington's been wildly, uh, disrespected.
11:36 I am-- the last two games has been a little bit of a different Washington defense,
11:42 and they just seem to be doing whatever you need to do to win a game.
11:46 And I like teams like that.
11:48 You want to score a 50-point shootout, they find a way to win.
11:51 They beat Oregon State low, which I don't think a lot of people expected.
11:55 They are undefeated.
11:57 I think they're going to feel very disrespected.
12:00 Um, I think they're going to win the game.
12:02 I got Washington.
12:03 I'm going to take Oregon.
12:05 I-- I mean, I-- I think it's a lot of points, but I've said, you know,
12:07 throughout the last few weeks that there are a couple teams in this country I would not
12:11 want to play right now.
12:12 Oregon is one of them, the way that they've been playing.
12:14 Not that Bo Nixon needs any motivation, but the fact that the Heisman is on the line,
12:17 I believe if he wins this game and plays really well, it is the Heisman trophy for him to lose.
12:22 Um, so I'm going to take Oregon, but the fact that the Pac-12 is going away,
12:25 this is the last Pac-12 championship, and it's an ultimate playoff game,
12:29 is awesome.
12:30 It's bittersweet, but I think Oregon gets it done.
12:32 Let's move to the big--
12:33 Would be a fitting-- fitting, uh, if Oregon wins, Oregon most likely, Michigan, Rose Bowl,
12:39 classic Rose Bowl.
12:40 Yeah.
12:40 Yeah, that would be very cool.
12:41 Let's move to the big 12.
12:43 Dave, I will start with you.
12:44 Number 18, Oklahoma State versus number seven, Texas.
12:47 Texas favored by 15 and a half, the over-under at 54 and a half.
12:51 And this Oklahoma State team early in the season, we buried them.
12:54 They looked awful.
12:54 We're talking about should Mike Gundy be done in Stillwater?
12:57 And of course, Texas has--
12:58 We've never talked about that here.
13:01 No, I mean, Oklahoma State looked awful.
13:04 Not on this show, but when they lost by 26 points to South Alabama,
13:06 they were one and two.
13:07 There were some-- there were some concerns out there.
13:09 Okay, so maybe, yeah, on other shows, maybe not on this show.
13:12 But Oklahoma State, obviously, turn it around.
13:14 We're able to get to the big 12 championship, beat Oklahoma.
13:16 Now, Texas is sitting there.
13:17 They don't get to avenge the loss against Oklahoma, Dave.
13:20 But they seem to be the better team going into this game.
13:24 What do you expect to happen?
13:25 Yeah, I'm so distracted.
13:27 I know we'll have my recording.
13:28 I just don't understand why we can't get a TV.
13:30 Like, it's-- I don't-- what are we--
13:31 A high school-- little Sass can record a podcast better in his apartment with his own equipment
13:39 than Pete Overmeyer can with 3,000 producers and unlimited budget.
13:44 It's how you roll Sass.
13:44 This is a Bosco game for me.
13:50 Because I liked Oklahoma State.
13:52 I thought it was too many points.
13:53 And then on Pick 'Em, as Dan knows, he had this whole trap, like, oh, he's begging you to take
13:59 Texas because it's so many points.
14:02 And then he took Oklahoma State.
14:03 So he set the trap for himself.
14:06 And then he walked into the trap.
14:08 So I'm going to take Texas because of that.
14:10 Dan?
14:12 Yeah, I'm in the same boat.
14:13 Bosco did that to me, where it's like, I do think it's too many points.
14:18 And he laid it all out.
14:19 And then he just went and grabbed the cheese.
14:21 So yeah, I'm going to take Texas as well.
14:23 Brandon?
14:23 Texas defense is really good up front.
14:25 Oklahoma State wants to run.
14:26 They won't be able to.
14:27 Texas also-- it's been a grind and a fight ever since the Alabama game.
14:30 But now they see the light at the end of the tunnel.
14:32 I think they just destroy Oklahoma State this week.
14:34 Ev, you have a thought on this one?
14:35 I would have taken Oklahoma State.
14:37 But that-- the Rico spiel definitely gave me some pause there.
14:40 But I guess I'll take them for the sake of the show.
14:43 I'll take Oklahoma State with the points.
14:44 Yeah, I'll be honest.
14:45 I was thinking about leaning Oklahoma State.
14:46 But I feel like the Bosco trap-- and I love Rico.
14:49 But I don't want to walk into that one.
14:51 But I do think--
14:51 I love Rico.
14:52 I like Rico.
14:53 He's a loyal dog.
14:56 He's a good guy.
14:56 I do think Texas is figuring it out.
14:59 And of course, they are moving to the SEC.
15:01 So this is the big chance for them to go out on top of the Big 12 and make it--
15:04 potentially make it to the college football playoff.
15:06 Let's go to the Big 10.
15:08 And of all of the Power 5 games, obviously, this one is probably the least exciting,
15:12 the least sexy.
15:14 Brandon, I'll start with you.
15:14 Michigan versus Iowa.
15:16 Iowa's 16th in the country.
15:17 Michigan right now favored by 21 and 1/2.
15:19 The over/under at 34 and 1/2.
15:22 And a lot of people are saying that--
15:24 21?
15:25 It moved down to 21?
15:26 21 and 1/2.
15:27 Yeah, at least that's--
15:28 Open at what?
15:29 23 and 1/2?
15:30 Yeah.
15:31 The first half total for Iowa being 0.5 is very fun.
15:34 Well, it's just-- football is about matchups.
15:37 And Iowa matches up with nobody.
15:39 But there's not a team in the world they match up with less than Michigan.
15:43 I do think-- I wonder if Harbaugh's just going to be a nice guy.
15:46 But I like Michigan here.
15:48 I like 24-0, 27-3, something like that.
15:51 Iowa just can't score.
15:52 If it were Purdue last year-- and I know they got killed.
15:55 But if it were somebody else that at least had a hint of an offense,
15:58 maybe I'd go another way.
15:59 But Iowa can't score.
16:00 Michigan-- it's Michigan all day.
16:01 I know we talked about it on the podcast.
16:03 But you were saying you might take Michigan and the under,
16:05 which is a very narrow window.
16:06 It's a narrow window.
16:06 Yes, it's not as narrow as it was.
16:08 But it's a narrow window.
16:09 But I think it could be smart.
16:11 Like under 34 and 1/2, sounds good.
16:13 Michigan minus 21 and 1/2, sounds good.
16:14 27-3 is on the table here.
16:17 Dan?
16:18 Yeah, I'm going to take Michigan as well.
16:19 Harbaugh coming back, he's got something to prove.
16:22 He's going to-- when he has the guys and he has the thing, he'll stick it to you.
16:27 And yeah, it just doesn't-- Iowa doesn't-- how are they going to score?
16:30 I don't know.
16:31 They just don't have anything.
16:32 And the one thing that Iowa can do to score is to turn the ball over.
16:35 Michigan is pretty good with the ball.
16:38 Yeah, it's going to be an ugly one.
16:40 Dave?
16:41 That line movement is crazy to me.
16:44 That, to me, screams Iowa.
16:47 It's kind of a dead zone.
16:49 What do you mean?
16:51 Like it never hit 24.
16:53 It never hit 21.
16:54 Yeah, still two point.
16:56 Like who in their right mind would pick Iowa?
16:59 Yeah.
17:00 Enough people picked Iowa that move two points?
17:03 To me, that's-- I like Michigan.
17:06 But that's alarming to me.
17:07 The fan-- I'm not going to this game.
17:10 That shows the respect I have for Iowa.
17:12 This is a don't get injured game.
17:15 Just get out of here intact.
17:18 I'll take Michigan.
17:20 But that line movement is-- from just a strictly gambling perspective, is quite alarming.
17:26 Like who the hell is betting on Iowa?
17:28 Even if you don't like Michigan, how can you like Iowa?
17:31 Yeah, I'm going to take Michigan.
17:33 Dan, I agree with you.
17:33 I think Jim Harbaugh is going to come out and just never take the foot off the gas.
17:36 Ev, are you going to bet on Michigan?
17:38 Yeah, probably.
17:40 I mean, they should beat the shit out of-- Iowa just like-- Dan said it, Brandon said it.
17:43 They have no offense.
17:44 I see them being like 35 to like 6, something like that.
17:47 Point five in the--
17:48 So who is betting on Iowa?
17:49 Yeah.
17:50 Well, it could be someone trying to get it to 21 and then hammering Michigan.
17:53 Who knows?
17:56 Just a bunch of Iowa fans just praying, I guess, maybe?
17:59 I don't think they even know.
18:00 Yeah, that's true.
18:00 That's a good point.
18:01 Yeah.
18:02 I know.
18:02 Like you've got-- we have an Iowa fan right here.
18:04 Ryan's like, yeah, no.
18:05 No.
18:06 Okay, the ACC game, which a lot of people are circling because a lot of people don't
18:10 want to see Florida State without Jordan Travis in the college football playoff.
18:13 That's a whole different argument.
18:14 But for this game, Brandon, I will start with you because I know we've been talking about
18:18 this a lot.
18:19 Number 14, Louisville versus number four, Florida State.
18:21 Florida State minus 2.5, the over/under at 47.5.
18:24 Florida State undefeated if they win this game, probably in the playoff.
18:30 If Louisville beats them, the Florida State problem is over.
18:33 Correct.
18:33 Well, let's be honest.
18:35 America needs Louisville to win this game.
18:36 For a good college football playoff, for two good semifinal games, the only hope we have
18:41 is Louisville winning this game.
18:43 Louisville got embarrassed last week against Kentucky.
18:45 They lost six in a row.
18:46 They finally had the better team.
18:48 Everything was-- Mark Stoops was trying to leave Kentucky, and they pissed down their
18:51 legs.
18:52 They got to be pissed off.
18:53 Like if you're Jeff Brom, you have to come out, and you've got to win this game against
18:57 a wounded Florida State.
18:58 I like Louisville to win the game.
18:59 Dan?
18:59 I'm going with Florida State.
19:01 I, you know, I know it's going to be a problem.
19:03 People are going to bitch and moan.
19:05 I, Florida State's a better team.
19:07 I know that Rodemaker is not Jordan Travis, but I just, I've not, I'm not buying Louisville
19:14 all year, and I just think Florida State, like, talk about disrespect.
19:18 Everyone's basically writing them off and saying they're dead.
19:20 They've had an undefeated season to this point.
19:23 I think they're going to win this game.
19:24 Yeah, and Tate Rodemaker, I mean, I know that the Florida game was very close, but he's,
19:28 I mean, it's not like he's never played before.
19:29 He has some experience.
19:30 Right.
19:31 He's just terrible.
19:32 No, he's just not good.
19:32 He's just not good.
19:33 But it's not like he, I feel like a lot of people are saying, well, he's just so bad
19:38 that they have to keep him out of the playoff.
19:39 Again, that's a bigger conversation, but he's serviceable.
19:41 Now, I do think I'm going to take Louisville to win this game.
19:44 I believe that they will not because I want that necessarily.
19:47 But I just, I think that they are going to come out in this game and Florida State's
19:50 finally like, yeah, you know, we don't have our guy.
19:52 We're just not as good without him.
19:54 So I'm gonna take Louisville.
19:54 Dave, what do you think?
19:55 I think Florida State wins this game, not sold on Louisville at all.
19:59 Football's a team sport.
20:01 I do not think Florida State ruins the playoff at all.
20:05 I don't penalize injuries.
20:06 If you persevere, beat Florida, beat them, they deserve to go.
20:10 So, and I think they're going to win and you won't hear a complaint from me about it.
20:14 Let's go to the SEC Championship.
20:17 More on that in a little bit.
20:18 Yeah, I know.
20:18 I will assume.
20:19 That's why I kept it moving because I know that this conversation will come back.
20:23 The SEC Championship, number one, Georgia versus number eight, Alabama, Georgia favored
20:27 by six, the over-under at 54 and a half.
20:29 Dan, the end of the Iron Bowl was insane.
20:32 Jalen Milrow with that fourth and 31.
20:34 Hail Mary, which was phenomenal.
20:36 Close game.
20:36 He's about to cook, Casey.
20:38 I know he's about to cook.
20:39 You did this.
20:40 No, no, no, no, I'm not cooking.
20:41 No, no, no, this is a big game for you.
20:43 This is insane.
20:43 No, this is a big game for me.
20:44 Auburn defense at the end of that game, I will never understand what the hell they were doing.
20:48 They had a QB spy on the 31-yard line.
20:51 They were rushing two.
20:52 Just so, so stupid.
20:54 Like, I would rather a zero blitz than what they did.
20:58 Because at least you've got to make a decision quickly.
21:00 Give yourself a chance.
21:01 Sending two guys will never make sense to anybody.
21:03 Yeah, I'm taking the over.
21:04 It's my game of the year.
21:06 I've already placed the bet at 54 and a half.
21:08 Both these teams can score.
21:09 Both these teams, the SEC Championship has had points historically.
21:13 I think it's 12 out of the last 14 have gone over.
21:16 Georgia's offense is really, really good.
21:19 And I think Alabama might be in a little bit of a catch-up mode.
21:22 The only thing that scares me about this game is Jalen Milrow playing a little bit of hero
21:26 ball.
21:27 Can he do that against Georgia?
21:29 But yeah, the over is my game of the year.
21:31 Brandon?
21:31 So this is the first time they met since Kirby finally conquered the beast, right?
21:38 And then they're meeting again.
21:39 And I think Alabama has taken every bit of effort and scratching and clawing to get back
21:44 to here.
21:45 And I think Georgia is significantly better.
21:47 They have a "fuck you" mode that Alabama does not.
21:49 I think Georgia wins this game by multiple touchdowns.
21:52 Also, I forgot to mention one thing.
21:54 And it's not the most important thing, but the defensive coordinator for Georgia did
21:58 get the job at Syracuse.
21:59 He's taking some of his guys with him.
22:01 They're going to be able to do both at the same time, but that does matter a little bit.
22:07 A little bit.
22:07 When you're starting a new job and you're working on your old job, it's not a huge deal,
22:13 but it's also not nothing.
22:15 The thing about Jalen Milrow is the way he gets you.
22:17 He gets around the edge, he scrambles, he makes throws, or he runs.
22:20 And Georgia has the fastest defense in America.
22:22 And I think that is the strength.
22:24 And Kirby's always got a next guy up mentality as far as defensive coordinators, I believe,
22:28 or at least I hope.
22:29 I think Georgia, again, significantly wins this game.
22:31 And we looked at every position group earlier this week, and it's hard to find one that
22:34 Alabama may even have the edge on Georgia.
22:36 Now, obviously, they're both really good.
22:37 Defensive line in Alabama is really good, but you're right.
22:39 Georgia has an edge at a lot of places.
22:40 Dave, who are you taking?
22:41 Georgia and the over.
22:44 I haven't been sold on Alabama in the quarterback the whole season.
22:47 He got hot a little bit, but I don't know how he learned.
22:52 I would throw in a couple of weeks.
22:53 So I'm taking Georgia and the over, and they're a good football team.
22:58 I got my eye on them.
22:59 I tip my cap to them.
23:00 They're the kings of college football for the last two years, for sure.
23:03 This year, they haven't lost.
23:04 So yeah, they're a great team, and I have nothing but respect for the Georgia Bulldogs.
23:08 Ev, a lot of people have talked about, is Kirby now the best coach in college football?
23:12 But you do have Nick Saban saying they're probably wanting to remind him a little bit
23:15 who is the king of college football.
23:17 Are you taking Georgia or Alabama?
23:19 I like Georgia and the over.
23:20 So I think everyone's talking about Millrow.
23:22 No one's talking about Carson Beck.
23:23 He's so good.
23:24 I think he's had an unbelievable year.
23:26 He's only gotten better the years gone on.
23:28 Even the game where Spowers was out, he still was playing very well.
23:31 See how I like Georgia and the over.
23:33 Yeah, Carson Beck is phenomenal.
23:34 I'm going to take Georgia as well.
23:36 All right, Brandon, it's time for your trivia.
23:37 We don't have the whiteboards.
23:40 That's OK.
23:40 That's all right.
23:41 Y'all can answer it.
23:41 So this will be the last Pac-12 game, unless there's a miracle.
23:46 Maybe we have one sooner or later.
23:48 I don't know.
23:48 This will be the last Pac-12 championship game.
23:50 Which two teams played in the first ever Pac-12 championship game?
23:55 That is your question.
23:56 Which two teams played on campus in the first ever Pac-12 championship?
24:01 Definitely Stanford.
24:02 It was definitely Oregon.
24:05 If you guys would like the year, I'll give you the year.
24:06 I think it's like what, like--
24:09 Stanford, Oregon.
24:10 --years ago.
24:10 I feel like it was at Stanford.
24:12 2011 was the first year.
24:13 This is going to be Oregon.
24:14 Stanford and nobody went.
24:16 I do remember that year.
24:18 I'm going to say Oregon.
24:19 I don't know the other team.
24:20 Stanford, Oregon.
24:21 So it is-- Oregon is correct.
24:23 Stanford has gone to four Pac-12 title games.
24:26 They're second.
24:26 But the first year was 2011, and it was Oregon 49, UCLA 31.
24:31 Well, Michael James?
24:33 I believe so.
24:34 It was the year after they played for a national title.
24:37 Darren Thomas?
24:38 Yeah.
24:38 It was the year after that.
24:39 Yeah.
24:40 It's crazy.
24:40 Like the Pac-12--
24:41 Those Oregon teams are fun.
24:42 So fun.
24:43 It's not been around that long at all, and now it's just gone.
24:45 Yeah.
24:46 Yeah, it didn't start till 2011.
24:47 Right, and now it's just dead.
24:49 Sad.
24:50 Let's go to the Pizza Hut.
24:51 Hut takes of the week.
24:52 Pizza Hut may not have invented pizza, but they sure made it famous.
24:55 Whether it's a team celebration or just a casual get-together with friends,
24:58 no one out pizzas the Hut order now.
25:01 Dave, what is your Hut take for week 14?
25:03 So I'm the only one on this show, on this panel, that has to deal with this,
25:07 but it is absolutely unfair.
25:09 Portaling should not be allowed to start until the college football season is over.
25:15 It's so unfair for teams like Michigan, for example, who are in the playoff and
25:21 going to the Big Ten Championship, have all this stuff going on,
25:25 and players are getting recruited and switching.
25:27 That's fucking illegal.
25:28 There should be no portaling till the day after the national championship.
25:34 Brandon, that was a deep sigh.
25:36 No, there was no sigh there.
25:39 It was just, you know--
25:40 I kind of agree about--
25:41 They know it's conference championship.
25:43 They know I'm right.
25:44 I mean, it's crazy.
25:45 But they are waiting till conference championship.
25:46 Oh, they are.
25:46 It doesn't open until the day after the conference championship.
25:48 Oh, okay, then I'm sorry, dad.
25:48 So I don't know what he's bitching about.
25:49 Yeah, no, then I don't care about what he's saying.
25:51 What do you mean you don't know what I'm bitching about?
25:53 You're just whining to whine.
25:54 But I thought I saw some guys say they were going to the portal.
25:56 Their intention to go to the portal.
25:57 It's up to them to announce one of those, like, the dead area and free agency.
26:02 Yeah, there should be no, you can't announce, you can't do anything.
26:05 But all they're saying is when it opens up, we're going to go in.
26:08 After the national--
26:09 Some teams are preparing to win a national title.
26:11 You're going to take away guys free speech to announce what they want to announce.
26:14 They can announce whatever they want to announce.
26:15 Nothing.
26:16 There's no free agency.
26:17 Nothing.
26:17 Brandon, you know I'm right, but you never have to deal with it.
26:21 So you won't change the rule.
26:22 No, you're not right.
26:23 You're wrong.
26:24 There's things called semesters in college football.
26:27 There's things called academics.
26:29 So these guys got to get to where they're going next.
26:32 We're going to wait till January 9th and then open up the transfer portal.
26:34 That's not how things work in college.
26:36 Yeah, like these guys, the guys in the portaling really care about that.
26:39 Some of them do.
26:40 Yeah.
26:42 Dan, what's your hot take?
26:43 My hot take, actually, going back to the last Pac-12 championship game, I think we will
26:49 eventually get back to exactly where we are right now with conferences.
26:54 So it reminds me a lot about streaming.
26:57 We go from cable to streaming.
26:59 Now we have all these streaming services.
27:00 We bundle all the streaming services.
27:02 Hey, what the fuck?
27:02 We have cable again.
27:03 I think we're just going to get to a point in the next 5, 10 years where we do get like
27:09 these two or three big conferences, and then they just start putting them in geographical
27:14 spots where it's like, OK, Oregon and Washington are in the Big 10.
27:18 Well, they play in the Big 10 West and all these things.
27:21 So we're just going to get back to where we were, and it will be fine.
27:24 I'm not worried.
27:25 That's pretty much my point.
27:26 Going back to like North, South, East, and West, regional would be awesome.
27:30 Oh, yeah, these five teams are within the same state, a couple states.
27:34 They'll all play each other.
27:35 Great.
27:36 And then they'll play in a tournament to see who wins the conference.
27:40 And then we'll play in another tournament to see who wins the whole thing.
27:42 It's going to be the NFL.
27:43 It'll just be weird for a few years, but it'll figure itself out.
27:46 All right, Brandon, your Hutt take.
27:47 All right, my Hutt take is this.
27:49 It is great that you guys want to give everybody a participation trophy, and it's great that
27:52 everybody wants to reward a team for going 13 and don't go to the playoff.
27:56 But my Hutt take is Florida State, in its current condition, belongs nowhere near the
28:00 college football playoff.
28:01 It sucks what happened to them.
28:02 It sucks Jordan Travis got hurt.
28:04 This current team is not 13-0.
28:06 They are 1-0, and they play Louisville this weekend.
28:09 What's going to happen if you put them in instead of a worthy team?
28:13 I don't know who's back there with one loss.
28:14 Let's say Texas gets left out.
28:15 If you leave out Texas--
28:16 Here we go, Buckeye Brandon making his case.
28:19 For Texas?
28:19 For fucking Texas?
28:21 Shut up.
28:22 Dummy, why did I just call you?
28:24 You called me Buckeye Brandon.
28:25 I was making the case for Texas, and you called me Buckeye Brandon, you dumb fuck.
28:29 Now I'm going to keep talking.
28:30 So you've got--
28:32 I see what you're doing.
28:32 If you leave Texas out, and you put Florida State in, what you do is--
28:35 and you should be against this, by the way, Dave.
28:37 Because if number two seed Michigan is playing number three seed Oregon, and fucking number
28:41 one seed Georgia gets to play Florida State, they get a bye week.
28:44 They don't even have to prep.
28:46 They can prep for you guys.
28:47 I don't know why you want that.
28:48 I can't disagree with this take more than I am.
28:51 That's fine.
28:52 You can disagree with this.
28:53 No, it's a terrible take.
28:54 It's not a terrible take.
28:55 This team is not 13-0.
28:56 This team is 1-0.
28:57 This team is 1-0.
28:58 Let me ask you a simple question.
29:00 When Mississippi State had Dak Prescott, if they go undefeated that year, and Dak Prescott
29:03 gets hurt right before the SEC championship game, what would you be saying?
29:07 I would absolutely be arguing the opposite.
29:09 But I would know in my heart-- I would know in my heart--
29:11 The games have to matter.
29:12 I would know in my heart, if we get there-- if we get there--
29:14 The games have to matter.
29:16 Teams have to matter.
29:17 No, what's the point of playing this season if the games don't matter?
29:21 The first 11 games were not this team.
29:23 But it doesn't matter.
29:24 The games have to matter.
29:25 You're going to reward a team.
29:26 If it was a team sport, one guy doesn't make the whole team.
29:30 The quarterback does.
29:30 You know it does.
29:31 No, no.
29:32 You know this team--
29:33 No.
29:33 You know if this team plays Cardale Jones.
29:35 What's going to happen?
29:36 They don't have a Cardale Jones.
29:37 OK, but I'm saying--
29:38 They don't have one.
29:38 But I get it.
29:39 But Cardale Jones won the national title.
29:41 If they had a Cardale Jones--
29:41 If you had the same rule, you would have said, well, Ohio State can't be in the playoff because
29:45 they don't have their starter.
29:46 The games have to matter.
29:48 They all-- Cardale Jones also won--
29:50 If JJ McCarthy gets hurt, and Michigan's out, it's like crazy.
29:53 They barely should be in anyway.
29:55 So Ohio State, when they had Cardale Jones--
29:57 No, I know they kicked the shit out of Wisconsin.
29:59 59-0.
30:00 Did you see Tate Roderick-Maker last week?
30:01 He's not that guy.
30:02 It doesn't matter.
30:03 The games have to matter.
30:04 Otherwise, you're not even playing a sport anymore.
30:06 You're just doing it--
30:07 You're rewarding a team--
30:08 You're playing a computer game.
30:08 You're rewarding a team for something--
30:10 For going 13-0.
30:11 For something they used to be.
30:12 No.
30:12 For something they used to be.
30:13 They're 13-0.
30:14 For something they used to be.
30:15 It had the--
30:16 Hopefully, Louisville wins.
30:18 But you're going to reward a team for something they used to be, and you're going to have a bad
30:20 playoff.
30:21 You are anti-sport.
30:22 You're anti-sport.
30:23 You're anti-sport.
30:24 Texas will be sitting there with a win over Alabama, and we're going to put in a cripple
30:27 team.
30:27 You want to sit with Excel spreadsheets like a nerd.
30:29 Let's put a cripple team in there.
30:30 Let's just put these two teams, and they look like the best.
30:32 When it's 59-3, Georgia--
30:34 Don't care.
30:34 You don't care at all.
30:35 The games have to matter.
30:36 So my take is-- just to add into this-- I think there is 0% chance they can leave Florida
30:41 State out, because you cannot take one guy off a roster and say, in a Power 5, if you
30:46 win the conference--
30:47 They're not going to leave him out.
30:48 That's not a hot team.
30:49 I didn't--
30:50 No, he's--
30:50 I agree.
30:50 They're not going to leave him out.
30:51 Well, I thought you said that you think there's--
30:52 That's not what I said.
30:53 I said they belong nowhere near the playoff.
30:54 But you told me you think there's a chance they leave him out.
30:55 I believe they are-- they belong nowhere near the playoff.
30:59 I think they will be--
30:59 They win, they're in.
31:00 No, OK.
31:01 We've had this argument on necessary roughness, and I've been told multiple times that I'm
31:04 wrong for saying they're not going to be left out.
31:05 Fine, whatever it is.
31:07 They win, they got to be in.
31:08 I mean, yes, I agree.
31:09 It's half the round.
31:10 They win, they're in.
31:11 There's no brands just saying they shouldn't, which, like Dan said, you might as well just
31:15 play a computer game.
31:16 What's the point?
31:17 It's disincentivizing the entire sport of football.
31:21 Why would we even play a season?
31:23 The games have to matter.
31:24 They have to matter.
31:25 They won 11-0 with Jordan Travis.
31:26 I understand, but the games have to matter.
31:27 That was their team.
31:28 They are a team.
31:30 That's fine.
31:30 If they go undefeated, that team, you cannot say--
31:33 That's a stupid take.
31:34 If they win Florida State, if they beat Louisville--
31:37 You're just mad because there might be a blowout in the playoff?
31:40 Who fucking cares?
31:40 If they win, they're going to get in, and there's going to be better teams left out
31:44 so they can get in.
31:45 Great, they shouldn't have lost the game.
31:46 Games matter.
31:47 They shouldn't have lost the game.
31:48 They shouldn't have played in the ACC then?
31:50 Games matter.
31:50 Games matter.
31:51 All right, that's fine.
31:52 They can only win the games that are on their schedule, whether if the ACC is down or not.
31:55 I feel like I'm taking crazy--
31:56 OK, well, none of y'all complain when we're sitting there on December 30th--
31:59 I don't.
32:00 --and Florida State's getting in.
32:01 I feel like the same.
32:02 I thought TCU should be in even though they lost to Kansas State because they deserve
32:06 to be there.
32:06 That's a different argument, though.
32:07 Well, no, because--
32:07 But TCU lost and they should have been in.
32:09 That's a different argument because TCU was really healthy, and there weren't other
32:13 teams to take that spot.
32:15 They only got to keep that spot because there was nobody else.
32:17 The difference in the argument is that TCU lost, and I still thought--
32:19 TCU had their quarterback.
32:19 If you don't lose in a power play--
32:21 They're not--
32:21 In case your argument's making no sense right now.
32:24 I mean, first of all--
32:25 You're bringing a different team in.
32:26 That's different.
32:27 Did we not all sit here and you said TCU is not going to play well in the college
32:30 football playoff?
32:31 That's the argument you're making--
32:32 TCU has nothing to do with--
32:32 --is that Florida State's not going to--
32:34 It does.
32:34 You're saying that Florida State is not going to play a good game in the college
32:37 football playoff, which is the same thing you said against TCU.
32:39 It doesn't fucking matter.
32:39 They deserve to be there.
32:40 Maybe that does make sense.
32:41 No one lets me fucking talk.
32:43 That's exactly--
32:43 We're letting you talk.
32:44 The problem is Florida State is--
32:45 If you think a team is not going to play well in the college football playoff--
32:50 If Matt Stuggin had gotten--
32:51 And you're going to leave them out.
32:52 You didn't think TCU was going to play well, so you said leave them out because
32:55 no one wants a TCU in the college football playoff.
32:56 If Matt Stuggin had gotten hurt, then the point is--
32:58 But they lost the game.
32:59 But we can't--
33:00 What Casey's point is, and I agree with, is you can't make a college football
33:03 playoff based on who you think is going to be the closest game.
33:06 Right.
33:06 That's all I was trying to say.
33:07 Nobody lets me finish my fucking conversation.
33:09 Games have to matter.
33:10 They matter.
33:10 If you don't lose an entire game in the Power Five and you're the conference champion,
33:14 you cannot be left out even if somebody thinks you're going to lose by 100 fucking points.
33:17 And it goes even further.
33:19 It's the Texas-Alabama thing.
33:20 Alabama cannot get into the playoff before Texas.
33:24 Well, that's an argument that might be had soon, too.
33:26 But that cannot happen.
33:27 The games have to matter.
33:28 If they don't, then they're just basically saying the sport is a joke and regular season
33:32 doesn't matter.
33:32 It's an argument that could happen this weekend.
33:34 It might not, but--
33:34 Because how could you sit there as a committee and be like, "Well, we've got to look at the
33:37 data points and see which team's better."
33:39 They played.
33:40 Yeah.
33:40 Texas beat Alabama.
33:42 Yeah, no, there's like a--
33:43 There's no point in sports if you go by--
33:47 Correct.
33:47 Correct.
33:48 No.
33:48 Correct.
33:48 Because the team minus one guy is still the team.
33:51 Imagine being a Florida State player, you're undefeated.
33:54 It's like, "Oh, we just got kicked out.
33:56 We've done everything we can."
33:57 But some fucking redneck from Mississippi is like, "Oh, we can't do this."
34:01 Well, I'm not on the committee.
34:02 I'm not on the committee, Dave.
34:03 So if you were on the committee--
34:04 I'm saying a hypothetical.
34:06 If you were.
34:06 This was Brandon Walker's hut take.
34:09 That's true.
34:10 It was a hut take.
34:10 You guys can't emotionally handle it.
34:11 No, it was a hut take.
34:12 No, I-- well, I mean--
34:14 No, I thought it was a security debate.
34:15 It was.
34:16 Yeah.
34:16 It was.
34:16 It was great.
34:16 It was a security debate.
34:17 Good job.
34:18 Ev, what's your hut take?
34:20 Mine is, listen, even after losing, Ryan Dill went and asked for the title before Jim Harbaugh
34:24 does.
34:25 Jim Harbaugh, if he has shown one thing--
34:26 Oh, that's right.
34:27 If he has shown one thing--
34:28 Come on, Pat.
34:29 Oh, no.
34:30 When he has time to prepare and another team has time to prepare, he will lose every time
34:34 because he's a buffoon.
34:36 He has not won a bowl game since 2015.
34:38 He will not win a playoff game this year.
34:40 And Ryan Dill went and asked for the title before--
34:41 I mean, that might be true just because Jim Harbaugh is going to be the coach of the Bears.
34:44 I've also said that a few weeks ago.
34:46 I think-- I said that--
34:47 See, Dave, they've been talking.
34:50 They've been talking, Dave.
34:51 He's gone.
34:52 He's gone.
34:52 Are y'all still sure you're going to get a new coach?
34:54 Yeah.
34:55 OK.
34:55 I've also-- I'll say it.
34:56 I've said it--
34:57 Sharon Moore has as many--
34:58 Yeah.
34:59 I mean, Sharon Moore is the perfect replacement for Jim Harbaugh.
35:04 He's got it in good hands.
35:05 I've said it on many shows.
35:06 I'll say it here on this show right now.
35:07 That was good, Ev.
35:08 I appreciate that.
35:08 If Jim Harbaugh is the coach of the Chicago Bears, I'm giving him lifetime immunity.
35:12 I'll never criticize him.
35:14 Lifetime immunity.
35:14 Literal lifetime immunity.
35:16 No portaling, no tampering.
35:18 Let's just-- we got-- we're--
35:19 Lifetime immunity.
35:21 Ev, that-- while it might be true, it was sad.
35:26 That was great.
35:28 OK.
35:28 That was great.
35:30 It's the-- I mean, it's a hot take.
35:31 It's the truth.
35:32 Well, while we're talking about hot takes, Ev, do you think there's any way that Ohio State
35:36 sneaks in?
35:37 I mean, would Texas have to lose?
35:39 Florida State has to lose?
35:42 This is like the changing of the seasons.
35:44 Every single year we're here, Ohio State's fans look at the math groveling.
35:49 It's pathetic.
35:49 No, what's pathetic is quitting your team like you were the Fairweather fan,
35:53 running out of steam.
35:55 They were losing.
35:56 You couldn't take the--
35:56 All right, Ev.
35:57 --good lead.
35:58 I'm here in the pocket.
35:59 I'm still here.
35:59 I show up.
36:00 Are you?
36:01 When you lose a draw, you take it like a man.
36:02 You lead because you're a boy.
36:04 You're a crybaby.
36:04 I am your biggest fan.
36:06 I-- you know, I just-- whatever makes you happy, big man.
36:09 By the way, big Ev, Washington might have to win.
36:11 I don't-- I think just the winners in, losers out.
36:16 I guess that's my-- what I--
36:17 Oregon would get in.
36:19 Oregon beats Washington.
36:20 And they'd put in-- all the other-- all the other things happen.
36:23 If Florida State loses, if Texas loses, if Georgia loses--
36:26 They could put Washington--
36:27 They might put Oregon and Washington in.
36:29 I don't think they would.
36:29 That would just spoil that game.
36:30 That's right.
36:31 Washington would have--
36:32 Alabama, right?
36:33 No, if Alabama loses--
36:35 No, Georgia wins.
36:35 I'm saying--
36:35 No, we need to--
36:36 We now have--
36:36 We need Georgia.
36:37 You now have-- you have three undefeateds--
36:39 Yeah.
36:39 Or-- or-- sorry, two undefeateds in-- in Michigan and Georgia.
36:43 And then you have three one-loss teams in Oregon, Washington, Ohio State.
36:48 Washington might-- they might put in Oregon and Washington if that's a close game.
36:51 Can we--
36:51 You might need--
36:52 The producers--
36:52 Washington winning would be the better outcome.
36:55 I would agree with that, but--
36:56 You see what I'm saying, Brandon?
36:58 Yeah, I got it.
36:59 Washington--
36:59 I lost.
37:00 I still-- I still have to have them, though.
37:02 But why would Ohio State automatically be in over Washington if that's a close game?
37:07 Like, I think actually Washington needs to win for-- for Ohio State to--
37:10 What?
37:11 I'm sure.
37:12 But we are-- he's right.
37:12 We are trying to create hoops where Ohio State can get in.
37:15 Yeah, but it's--
37:16 Dave just wants the clown music playing so bad right now.
37:18 It's a pretty-- it's--
37:19 I mean, I just--
37:20 It's more treacherous than you realize, I think.
37:23 I think you-- I think you don't realize that Washington-- a close loss for Washington
37:27 would mean that Washington and Oregon could very well be in-- in Ohio State.
37:30 I just think they put Ohio State in, but I mean, that's like a research point.
37:33 I mean, if-- if you're in a golf tournament, you're-- you're-- you want guys to miss the
37:36 putt in 18 so you can go to a playoff.
37:38 Like, I'm-- it's-- I'm doing the same thing.
37:40 I'm hoping if you guys miss putts, we get a chance to the playoff.
37:43 [HUMMING]
37:48 Let's go to the Roback dog of the week.
37:51 We are all wearing our Roback.
37:52 I'm wearing the comfortable fleece.
37:53 All the guys look great in theirs.
37:54 You can--
37:55 I'm sorry, Kasey.
37:56 I didn't have my-- I'm wearing my manifesto, uh, the Michigan manifesto, humiliating, uh,
38:01 Ohio State, humiliate, Ohio State again, repeat.
38:04 That's actually the joke.
38:05 I don't see-- I don't see a win a playoff game on there.
38:07 Well, 'cause he's never done that.
38:08 Yeah.
38:08 They're losers.
38:09 But your mannequin is wearing a Roback, so that is good.
38:12 You guys can also all be outfitted in a Roback.
38:14 Go to rhoback.com.
38:16 Use code football for 20% off your first purchase.
38:18 That's 20% off all polos, shorts, hoodies, and more with code football.
38:22 It is the holiday season.
38:23 What is better than Roback?
38:24 Dave, who is your dog this week?
38:26 I have two.
38:27 I have a dog.
38:28 Like, oh, that guy's a dog.
38:30 He's a fucking dog.
38:31 And then I have a dog.
38:32 Like, this guy's pathetic.
38:33 I'll start with the good one.
38:35 J.J. McCarthy just played a perfect football game.
38:39 An absolutely perfect football game.
38:41 Made every right decision.
38:43 Made not good, spectacular throws when they needed them.
38:47 Drive-saving plays.
38:48 He's a winner.
38:49 There's no quarterback I'd rather than J.J. McCarthy heading into this.
38:53 I'm very excited.
38:54 What?
38:55 Do you know a fun fact about J.J. McCarthy, Dave?
38:57 What?
38:58 He grew up an Ohio State fan.
39:00 He wanted to go to Ohio State, but Ryan Day was too stupid.
39:02 Yikes.
39:04 I didn't know that.
39:04 Yes.
39:05 Yes.
39:06 And he said he was like, he felt personally, like, the way they treated him, he's like,
39:10 fuck Ohio State forever.
39:12 He said he wanted to kill him.
39:13 Yeah.
39:13 Like a Joe Burrow, too.
39:15 What?
39:17 Isn't he from around here?
39:18 Yeah, he's from Chicago.
39:20 But yeah, he wanted to go to Ohio State, and they took a hell of a court over him.
39:23 Oof.
39:25 Yikes.
39:27 My dog on the bad side, Pete Overmeyer.
39:30 Just that absolute disgusting display of a tech performance when we're spending all this
39:37 money out of our pockets being in Ann Arbor.
39:39 I talked to him.
39:41 I know he takes it personal, but I don't know how after doing this for like 100 years, we
39:46 don't have a system.
39:47 We're like, oh, this is broken.
39:49 So yeah, just one of the worst performances you'll ever see from a tech guy, Pete Overmeyer.
39:54 Sad.
39:56 All right, Dan, your dog?
39:57 My dog of the week is Diego Pavia, New Mexico State.
40:00 I love this kid.
40:01 He shouldn't have been playing when they beat Auburn.
40:04 He shouldn't have been playing last week.
40:05 He's been banged up, but he keeps playing.
40:06 They keep winning.
40:07 I'm going to take him 10 and a half against Liberty in whatever-- what is that?
40:11 Conference USA?
40:13 No.
40:13 Yeah.
40:14 Sunbelt.
40:15 No, that's not Sunbelt.
40:16 Conference USA?
40:17 Conference USA.
40:18 Yeah, Conference USA.
40:18 Conference USA.
40:19 Liberty.
40:19 Liberty.
40:19 Liberty.
40:19 Liberty.
40:20 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
40:20 Yeah, 10 and a half.
40:21 Sunbelt is too lame.
40:22 No, Sunbelt's not too lame.
40:24 No, what am I talking about?
40:25 Lane's like AAC.
40:26 Yeah.
40:27 Yeah, AAC.
40:27 You're talking about Sunbelt's Troy Appstate.
40:29 Thank you.
40:30 Thank you.
40:30 Thank you.
40:31 Appstate is definitely--
40:32 Set me up again?
40:33 Brandon, who's your dog of the week?
40:35 My dog of the week is new Mississippi State head coach Jeff Lebbe,
40:40 former Oklahoma Sooner offensive coordinator.
40:42 Not a better offense in the country than Oklahoma.
40:44 They were dominant this year.
40:46 They beat Texas because of how many points they scored.
40:48 He's going to score a lot of points here.
40:49 Last year, I don't know if you all saw it, Mississippi State's coach, Mike Leach,
40:52 may he rest in peace.
40:53 He died.
40:54 And now we finally have a new coach to come score points.
40:56 And we're going to restore the legacy of Mississippi State football.
40:59 Jeff Lebbe is my guy.
41:00 You are a noted Oklahoma offense.
41:01 What's that controversy with him?
41:02 What's that thing where he was on the field and everyone got mad?
41:06 He is the son-in-law of Art Bryles.
41:09 And before the--
41:10 Good guy.
41:10 Before an Oklahoma game, Art Bryles was on the field.
41:13 And that was controversy.
41:15 But he's his son-in-law.
41:16 Why was that controversial?
41:17 Because Art Bryles exists.
41:19 And it goes back to the Baylor stuff from a few years ago.
41:21 And what's that stuff?
41:24 Well, it was really hard to know.
41:26 It's been so long.
41:27 I don't know if they archived all of that on the internet.
41:29 But it was some stuff.
41:30 But yeah.
41:32 Why were people mad?
41:33 That was a Baylor problem.
41:34 That happened at Baylor.
41:35 That was in 2000.
41:36 So will Art Bryles be on the sideline in Mississippi State?
41:38 I doubt it.
41:39 Yeah, I guess that's a question.
41:40 Jeff Lebbe's our coach.
41:41 And that's--
41:42 Right, but that's his father-in-law.
41:43 Are you going to--
41:44 Do you answer for everything that your father-in-law does?
41:46 I don't answer everything my father-in-law does.
41:47 I'm just asking you a question.
41:48 He's going to be on the sideline.
41:49 I don't think so.
41:50 But that's not my call.
41:51 If he's on the sideline, will you disavow?
41:52 I think he probably will.
41:53 I'm just a fan, guys.
41:54 I don't know.
41:55 I don't give out tickets to the sideline.
41:56 Will you disavow?
41:57 If Art Bryles is on the sideline?
42:00 Are you--
42:00 I'll have to talk to Jeff Lebbe.
42:02 And we'll discuss.
42:03 And he started following you on Twitter.
42:05 He did.
42:05 He follows me on Twitter now.
42:06 Andy, I'm following him.
42:08 You disavow Art Bryles?
42:09 Yes, I disavow what happened at Baylor.
42:12 Disavow your coach's father-in-law?
42:13 I disavow what happened at Baylor.
42:15 You went against the family.
42:16 I disavow what happened at Baylor, guys.
42:18 Can we cut that?
42:19 You guys are not disavowing what happened at Baylor?
42:20 No, I disavow the whole family.
42:23 Because when I disavow what happened at Baylor--
42:24 I disavow the entire Bryles family by marriage, by anything.
42:27 Disavow all of them.
42:28 Really?
42:28 Yeah.
42:29 Art Bryles is not welcome on the Michigan sideline.
42:32 Art Bryles is a piece of shit.
42:33 Or the Wisconsin sideline.
42:34 Or the AM sideline.
42:35 You guys can say that with 100% certainty.
42:37 I can't.
42:38 I'll personally kick him out.
42:39 You're saying with 100% certainty that he'll never be on the Michigan or the Wisconsin sideline.
42:43 I'll personally kick him out.
42:44 Because Kendall Bryles is still in college football.
42:45 I'll personally kick him out.
42:46 And Kendall Bryles also--
42:47 You disavow your new head coach and his father-in-law.
42:50 That is not what I said at all.
42:51 I disavow what happened at Baylor and whatever.
42:53 I don't know everything--
42:54 You don't disavow Art Bryles?
42:56 I disavow what happened under Art Bryles at Baylor.
43:01 That's what I did.
43:02 Not him.
43:03 I disavow Art Bryles, but not his son-in-law.
43:06 His daughter might not have known any of that.
43:08 Yes.
43:09 Correct.
43:09 You do disavow Art Bryles.
43:11 I don't know.
43:11 The whole connection with Pete-- we got to talk about the internet.
43:15 You're not coming through right now, Dave.
43:16 Uh-oh.
43:17 But Jeff Lebbe, great hire.
43:19 Jeff Lebbe's a fucking dog.
43:20 A fucking dog.
43:21 Outside of the Art Bryles connection.
43:21 And we're going to score some fucking points, OK?
43:23 OK.
43:24 We're scoring points.
43:25 All right, Ev, who's your dog?
43:26 Mine, I've got to pick.
43:27 There's a team obviously playing conference game.
43:29 I think it should be favored or not.
43:30 It's UNLV.
43:32 They've been great against the number all year.
43:33 I don't want to say 10 and 2 or 10 and 3.
43:35 I'll take UNLV plus 2 and 1/2.
43:36 Good team, right, Ev?
43:37 Oh, no.
43:38 I knew that was happening.
43:39 Uh-oh.
43:40 I mean, you walked into that.
43:42 I mean, that is--
43:42 I mean, that's--
43:43 They've already beaten them.
43:44 --a team, right, Ev?
43:44 I'm like, what does that matter?
43:46 What do you mean, what's that matter?
43:47 I mean, they're good in the Mountain West, sure.
43:49 Some people just sat on this program all year.
43:52 All Michigan hasn't played in a minute.
43:53 We haven't, that's true.
43:54 You didn't until us.
43:55 You didn't--
43:56 Well, we beat the shit out of you.
43:57 Well, you didn't beat the shit out of us.
43:59 How many teams are going to beat you?
44:00 UNLV's a good team.
44:01 I've been saying it all year.
44:02 Yeah, they're a good G5, for sure.
44:04 So my dog--
44:05 Well, we beat you.
44:06 My dog of the week, Dan.
44:07 I don't know where we stand on this.
44:09 I know we were texting about this.
44:10 But his new Texas A&M head coach, Mike Elko, which I love the hire.
44:14 I've been asking for Mike Elko for a long time.
44:17 I'd go back on the podcast last year.
44:18 I was begging him to come back to College Station.
44:20 Do you think that it's a good hire?
44:21 It's a good hire.
44:22 The Mark Stoops thing was crazy to me.
44:25 But yeah, Texas A&M ended up with the guy I guess they wanted.
44:28 Izzy.
44:28 Yes.
44:28 What?
44:29 Why can't Texas A&M do anything normal?
44:32 What was that like?
44:32 It's so--
44:33 Fucking weird.
44:34 You guys are so fucking weird.
44:36 It's the war hymn.
44:37 So it's like, that's been going on forever.
44:38 It's just like the fight song.
44:39 It's like what they--
44:40 That's what you say about everything.
44:41 Well, no.
44:41 But that's what that is.
44:42 You're asking what the song off is.
44:43 Put everything.
44:44 That's been going on forever.
44:45 There's got to be just one guy way, way back in the day who was just the biggest dweeb who
44:51 just started all this shit.
44:52 Why'd you do that, dude?
44:53 What you saw, they do every single game.
44:56 The entire stadium does.
44:56 It just looks--
44:57 Oh, I believe it.
44:58 It just looks a lot weirder, I think, in one room.
45:00 But it's just the fight song.
45:01 It's just what they do every time.
45:02 I know a lot of people are like, why would you be excited about Mike Elko over Mark Stoops?
45:07 Mark Stoops has had more success in a better conference.
45:09 Mike Elko's been at A&M.
45:10 You want to talk about somebody who understands the culture, understands the traditions,
45:13 understands the expectations?
45:14 That's fine.
45:16 Mark Stoops is a very good football coach.
45:18 And for Texas A&M fans to be like, no, this is a bad hire.
45:21 He's so much beneath us.
45:24 It's crazy when he's won 10 games at Kentucky more times in the last six years than A&M has
45:30 won 10 games in the last 20.
45:32 So that was the thing.
45:32 I think Mike Elko's a great hire.
45:34 I think he's going to be a very good hire for Texas A&M.
45:36 I'm happy for the Aggies.
45:38 Thank you, Dan.
45:39 But yeah, it was more the Mark Stoops shit was just like, what the hell is going on?
45:42 And when I woke up on Sunday morning, we were doing a podcast when it all happened.
45:45 So when I woke up and saw you text me and I didn't see what you had said, I was like,
45:48 oh shit, he's about to give me a hard time.
45:49 No, Mike Elko's a good hire.
45:51 I mean, getting Duke to play that way is like, Duke, it's tough to do.
45:55 Also, he pays attention to what we do.
45:57 Because we were DMing back and forth.
45:59 He said, thanks for all the support.
46:00 Glad to get the momentum going.
46:01 So--
46:01 Mike Elko, listen, nothing against you personally.
46:04 You got to get a tailor.
46:06 That was one of the worst fitting suits I've ever seen.
46:08 I didn't see that.
46:08 Oh my--
46:09 You have a fitting suit?
46:10 Oh my god.
46:10 He looked like Bob--
46:11 Ben McAdoo when--
46:14 He's just a football guy.
46:15 He's just a football guy.
46:16 Just wants to come in and win games.
46:18 Yeah.
46:18 Very excited.
46:18 Let's move to the proper picks presented by Proper Number 12 Irish Whiskey.

46:33 Let's go.
46:34 David's absolutely just destroyed everybody this year.
46:36 So--
46:37 Yep.
46:38 We're all just--
46:38 I'm second place.
46:39 It's a cheap score.
46:39 I am going to take my game of the year.
46:42 Pour the roar.
46:44 Proper Number 12 Irish Apple.
46:46 Cheers to my game of the year.
46:47 Let's hope-- knock on wood, we hit it.
46:48 The over in Georgia, Alabama.
46:51 Georgia, Alabama.
46:51 We will be streaming it live.
46:53 So I'm-- listen, when I do a game of the year, that means I'm betting the most I bet on a game.
47:02 And I will show up and I will give everything I have for this over.
47:07 I'll be there with you.
47:08 Yeah.
47:09 I'm going to fight my fucking dick off for this over.
47:11 Is Rico going to be here for that?
47:13 No.
47:13 Fuck no.
47:14 Fuck no.
47:15 Oh, okay.
47:16 Touched a nerve there.
47:17 I didn't say fuck no.
47:18 I just said no.
47:18 Okay, Dave--
47:19 He's welcome if he wants to.
47:21 Yeah, that's true.
47:22 He's a good boy.
47:23 Dave, your Proper Number 12 pick?
47:26 I don't love the board here.
47:29 I believe I had Miami of Ohio.
47:32 I just always think that MAAC championship, I always take the underdog.
47:36 Like, they're always close.
47:37 I'm going to take Miami of Ohio.
47:38 Brandon?
47:39 Friday night, Washington's been disrespected.
47:43 Everybody is on Oregon's side.
47:44 And that's fine.
47:44 Oregon is good.
47:45 But Washington is also good.
47:46 Washington plus 9.5.
47:47 They're the-- what is this?
47:49 That's from Proper Pick.
47:50 Proper Pick.
47:50 Okay, Ev?
47:51 Me and Dan are aligned.
47:53 I love that over.
47:53 I submitted to Blatman last night about 20 minutes after.
47:56 Dan tweeted, "This is Goaty.
47:57 I'll be here on the stream willing and--"
47:58 Let's go, Ev.
47:59 Let's go, Ev.
48:00 We're in the trenches together.
48:01 Let's fucking go.
48:02 You're due, Ev.
48:03 Something good has to happen.
48:05 Let's go, Ev.
48:06 We're going to put on our war paint.
48:08 We're just going to fucking--
48:08 I technically was retired.
48:09 I'll be out of retirement for conference championships.
48:11 It's-- Game of the Year means a lot to me.
48:13 And it's going to take a lot of energy.
48:15 It's like--
48:16 I'm going to be rooting for you guys.
48:18 I'll be on it.
48:18 Thank you, Dave.
48:19 Thank you.
48:20 Yeah, it's a prize fight.
48:21 I use every last bit of energy.
48:23 Like, I will be spent.
48:24 I might actually bring an ice bucket.
48:26 Just sit there.
48:27 Yeah, just a towel.
48:28 Just like, have Brandon be my--
48:29 Have Jerry.
48:30 Have your lap dog.
48:31 Yeah.
48:31 Oh, come on, lap dog.
48:33 Let's-- come on.
48:33 It's the lap dog.
48:36 I'm going to take Georgia minus six.
48:37 I mean, I've been so bad at these.
48:39 Last week, I just took how many times Dave was going to call Ev fat on the stream.
48:42 So I'm just taking a pick for--
48:43 Do you want to keep track of that?
48:44 No, but I know that it would--
48:46 I originally said it was going to be four and a half.
48:48 And so it had to have hit--
48:49 Had to have gone over.
48:50 --over, hit before I think the game was even started.
48:53 Let's start with the--
48:54 or let's go to the Viva La Hooters top 10.
48:56 Head over to your local Hooters and tweet a picture of your wings with #VivaLaHooters

49:20 And Hooters will mail them overseas as well.
49:24 So the Hooters loves the troops.
49:25 The girls are over there, Ev.
49:26 Those wings smell amazing.
49:28 Oh, they smell incredible.
49:29 So I'm here with lovely Hooters girls.

49:51 So make sure you buy those for your friends and then send them to the troops.
49:54 Thank you, as always, to Hooters.
49:55 Let's go to the communal top 10.
49:57 So together, we voted Georgia, Michigan, Washington, Florida State, Oregon, Texas,
50:02 Bama, OSU, Penn State, and Arizona.
50:05 So Ohio State falling to eight in our communal poll.
50:09 Yep, that's where I had them.
50:10 I had them seven.
50:11 I had them at eight, I believe.
50:13 And I had Arizona at 10.
50:14 I have Arizona at 10.
50:15 Brandon, you have Arizona?
50:17 I have Arizona at 10.
50:17 I had Mizzou at nine.
50:18 I guess I'm the only one that had Mizzou.
50:19 I had LSU at nine.
50:20 Jade and Daniel, she went in the highs.
50:22 I could not get--
50:24 Ohio State at seven, actually.
50:25 Ooh.
50:26 Yeah, that's what I had.
50:26 So any other qualms with that?
50:29 I mean, obviously, we'll figure out exactly--
50:31 like, by the time we meet the next time, we'll know what the playoffs look like.
50:33 It's going to be very exciting to see how this all plays out.
50:36 Yeah, I'm sure we'll have chaos, right?
50:39 So it could be the cleanest ever, or it could be pure chaos.
50:43 Yeah, it could literally be the cleanest ever with all four teams being undefeated.
50:47 Or yeah, we could have a real problem.
50:49 Do you want chaos, Dan?
50:50 Yeah, why not?
50:53 Yeah.
50:53 I want a little bit.
50:54 I want it on Sunday when we're all sitting around watching, like, to know that there's
50:57 going to be something a little bit spicy.
50:59 Do you think there's going to be chaos?
51:01 I don't.
51:02 OK.
51:02 You think it's going to be just clean?
51:04 I think it's going to be Michigan, Georgia, Florida State, Oregon.
51:07 If Alabama beats Georgia, it helps.
51:12 That's the chaos tipping point.
51:13 But yeah, I like Michigan, Georgia, Oregon.
51:17 Oh, no.
51:18 I like Texas.
51:19 I think Florida State's going to get beat.
51:20 OK?
51:20 OK.
51:21 So next week, we will be back for Army-Navy, one of our favorite things that we do every
51:25 single year.
51:25 This year, it is at Gillette in Foxborough.
51:27 So we are going to be at the Rodman Ford, which is right on Route 1, at 1 p.m.
51:32 Eastern.
51:32 So make sure you come out to the Army-Navy show, which is one of the coolest things we've
51:37 ever been to in sports.
51:37 So I know that-- I think that's not, like, a hot take by any stretch.
51:41 Yes.
51:41 Great show.
51:42 So we will see you in Foxborough next week.
51:44 Dave, anything else?
51:45 No.
51:46 No.
51:49 I'm excited for Championship Week.
51:51 I'm locked in.
51:52 I wish you guys could be there with me, but we can't all be there.
51:54 So I'll be thinking of you guys.
51:58 All right.
51:58 Big of you.
51:59 We'll see you guys next week.
