00:06 EICO in Italy has presented the annual survey of the ESG Culture Lab, with the aim of collecting knowledge and the perception of sustainability and involvement in 7 out of 17 Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
00:19 A national representative of 1,600 people between 18 and 65 years is involved in the research. In this context, from the latest report to ASVIS, it emerges that on the 17 goals of the 2030 Agenda, improvements are recorded,
00:32 contained only in 8 out of 6 goals, if they have even worsened compared to 2010, for example on inequalities, on the protection of marine and terrestrial ecosystems and on cooperation in development.
00:44 We absolutely need to accelerate. The government has committed itself, in the UN headquarters in September, to make a plan of acceleration precisely to achieve the goals.
00:56 We are pushing the government in this direction, but the time is really limited.
01:02 The importance of the new professionalism and the relationship between universities and the world of work is also important in terms of sustainability.
01:10 I want to emphasize once again how much the keywords guide for this path, orientation, tutoring, placement.
01:22 To summarize the results of the report of the ESG Culture Lab, the metaphor is "ready crew, uncertain navigation".
01:29 In fact, citizens engaged in the goals of sustainability, especially environmental, which concern the personal sphere, are recorded.
01:36 This vision in the personal sphere is very positive, but it opposes a risk or distrust, instead, as regards the institutions and organizations in which one works.
01:47 In fact, the same citizen, the same citizen who at home seems to be very virtuous, when he arrives at the company, continues to commit himself enough for what concerns environmental goals, but, for example, has more difficulty in engaging in gender equality.
02:04 In the research, the commitment and involvement of people in the field of environmental sustainability is highlighted, which is much higher than that of social sustainability.
02:14 We have, therefore, this big black hole of social sustainability, which even in the word map cannot define, so people do not know what social sustainability is.
02:27 People feel less involved in this area and judge with judgments that attribute to organizations and institutions are more negative.
02:40 To talk about sustainability, a process in rapid transformation, it is necessary to put people at the center.
02:46 On this we have searched for answers, we did it with institutional representatives, with the world of business, with the academic world, focusing in particular on two aspects, which are gender equality and the young and the attraction of young talents, and therefore the skills.
03:01 We believe that on these two themes the future of the country and the future of sustainability are at stake.
