Aleksandr Eryzhinsky's Fatal Crash @ Gelendzhik 2019

Russian off-road co-driver Aleksandr Eryzhinsky, 33, was killed during the first round of the 2019 Russian Trophy Raid Championship, held in Gelendzhik, southern Russia, on Saturday, 30 March 2019.

The accident happened during the ascent to the Ostraya mountain, when the Suzuki #49 in which he was co-driving to Mikhail Chaykovskiy, went out of control and rolled backwards several times before crashing into trees.

Aleksandr Eryzshinsky was killed instantly. The driver Mikhail Chaykovskiy, 45, suffered serious injuries but managed to left the car by himself. The event was stopped after the fatal accident.

Born on 05 December 1985, Aleksandr Eryzhinsky was current Rostov Oblast champion in two disciplines, Trophy Raids and Road Rallies. A resident in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, he was buried in the village of Bagayevskaya stanitsa, where he grew up and attended the school. He graduated from the University of Novocherkassk.
