00:00 Can you hear me OK?
00:01 I can. Thanks Joe.
00:03 OK, cool.
00:04 Wondered what you decided with the guard spots.
00:09 Do have a final decision, Joe,
00:11 but just going to hold that for right now,
00:14 but excited about how the guys
00:15 competed this week and the plan
00:17 that we have going forward.
00:19 So we'll just let that unfold
00:21 and see it on Sunday.
00:23 And JC is is is there a chance that
00:27 that his window closes and you know
00:30 he we don't see him again this year.
00:33 You know, I probably don't
00:36 want to comment on that.
00:37 I think he's doing well.
00:38 I don't think that's going to happen, Joe.
00:40 You know, obviously I'm not the X.
00:41 You know we gotta take it as it comes,
00:44 but he's been making good progress.
00:45 Feel good about where he's at.
00:49 And feel good about where he's at,
00:50 so we'll continue to take it
00:52 day by day, week by week.
00:56 Floors open if anyone has questions,
00:57 let's go to David.
00:58 You're on mute, David,
01:01 serve it. Hey coach,
01:02 happy Thanksgiving.
01:03 One to ask you what your biggest
01:06 concern is heading in this game.
01:10 Are you know? Listen,
01:11 we're focused on execution
01:12 in all three phases.
01:13 Obviously, particularly on offense,
01:15 you know, really want to continue to,
01:17 you know, build off the success
01:19 we had in running game.
01:20 You know it's no secret we want to run
01:23 the ball but we want to be balanced.
01:25 We know we want to be able to be balanced.
01:27 You know we want to be able to mix up tempos.
01:30 We want to be able to, you know,
01:32 try to keep teams off balance.
01:33 We need to be more productive on offense.
01:36 We know the challenge in front of us.
01:38 This is a good defense we're playing.
01:39 They're particularly good up front.
01:41 Statistically,
01:41 they've been very good against the run.
01:43 Physical, you know,
01:44 mix up their coverage as well.
01:46 The skies well,
01:47 it'll be a good test for us,
01:49 but the challenge for us is is really
01:52 execution and produce at a higher
01:54 level on offense. Thank you.
01:57 Let's go to Mike Salarte
01:59 followed by Jeff Hawkins.
02:00 Good afternoon Frank.
02:05 Can you hear me OK? Yeah, yes, Mike.
02:07 Happy Thanksgiving to you coach.
02:09 Happy thanks you as you as you have
02:11 looked at this this matchup and and
02:13 you kind of addressed it earlier in
02:15 the week but are you noticing and I
02:17 do have two are you noticing that
02:19 your guys have had a little more?
02:21 I don't know fire in the belly 'cause
02:23 you talked about you know it's us
02:25 against the world and and that sort
02:27 of thing is that kind of showing
02:29 itself in practice this week.
02:30 There's no doubt the resolve is there.
02:33 The determination fire in the belly.
02:34 All all those things.
02:36 I mean this is a highly
02:37 motivated locker room group.
02:41 It's been a tough year so far,
02:43 but there's still a lot of football left.
02:45 We understand that comes one week at a time.
02:48 You know, we understand we're going
02:50 up against a tough physical team,
02:51 but you know we need to come
02:54 out there and compete.
02:55 We have to compete hard on every play,
02:57 execute at a high level,
02:59 very motivated to get things
03:00 going in the right direction.
03:02 About my follow up on that in terms of Sunday,
03:07 have you do we have injury designations
03:09 on anyone perhaps besides Hayden?
03:11 Yeah, Hayden's out. Chin is out
03:15 and gross mottoes is out.
03:21 Henderson Horner Henderson
03:22 Horner both doubtful.
03:24 OK, thank you coach. You're welcome.
03:27 Go ahead Jeff. Hey coach,
03:36 happy happy Thanksgiving.
03:38 Thanksgiving the Panthers haven't had
03:40 100 yard rusher all season.
03:42 Two capable backs.
03:44 Will there be an added emphasis?
03:46 You know, take pressure off Bryce
03:48 in the next few games.
03:51 No doubt that a good running game
03:53 takes pressure off the quarterback
03:55 in a lot of different ways.
03:57 You know our vision is to be balanced.
04:00 You know we want to be able to be
04:02 physical and be dominant,
04:04 be able to mix things up.
04:06 You know, mix up personnel groups
04:08 to be able to, you know,
04:10 stay a step ahead to create an
04:12 edge for the offense in the run game.
04:15 Last week I thought we had some
04:17 good moments doing that.
04:18 We need to continue to build off that.
04:20 You know pressure off the past game
04:23 provides opportunities in play and
04:24 play action for chunk plays slows
04:26 down the rush a little bit so we
04:29 we have to be successful there.
04:32 Hubbard, he still start.
04:34 Yes. Thank you.
04:37 Alright, let's go to Darren Gant
04:39 and wrap it up with Kevin Tolbert.
04:42 Frank, you've had a lot of different
04:44 guys roll through that secondary.
04:45 Really all season with Dante Jackson.
04:47 I mean, what is he done to kind of help
04:50 cover some of those gaps in terms of
04:52 things beyond play in the communication?
04:54 That kind of stuff.
04:55 You know, he's been a consistent playmaker.
04:58 You know, been very good in coverage.
05:01 You know, very, very good all around
05:03 in the run game.
05:04 He's a great crack crack support.
05:08 He's been a consistent player,
05:09 you know, consistent winning
05:10 player over there.
05:12 You know, really is holding things down.
05:14 You know, have a lot of trust and
05:16 confidence in Dante and the way he's playing.
05:18 I think he brings a confidence
05:19 and a swagger back there to the back end.
05:22 So he's been very good.
05:25 Frank, you've had some increased
05:31 success with the tight ends.
05:34 Of late, particularly in the red zone,
05:38 will we start to see that show
05:40 up more mid drive as well?
05:42 You know, always looking to
05:45 spread the ball around.
05:46 You know, we're always looking to
05:48 spread the ball around tight ends.
05:49 You know, have you know we're trying
05:51 to get them involved in our offense.
05:53 They've always had pretty good
05:55 production over the years,
05:56 so I think some of the.
05:59 The lack of production at tight end.
06:02 Certainly not the players.
06:03 I feel great about that room.
06:05 It's just been an overall under
06:07 performance of the offense where
06:09 everybody's numbers and involvement
06:10 are going to be down so.
06:14 You know, excited about the opportunity
06:16 to turn the tables on that.
06:18 Oh yeah, in all phases.
06:19 So we'll take it one week at a time.
06:21 And you know,
06:22 looking forward to putting on a good
06:24 showing in all three phases on Sunday.
06:28 Alright, thanks coach.
06:29 - Thank you.
