00:13 and I'm joined by Natalie Dixon,
00:15 entertainment reporter and fashion expert, I would say.
00:19 So welcome Natalie.
00:21 Today we're gonna be talking about,
00:23 well, I'm gonna give her her more formal name
00:26 because I'm gonna be discussing her more formal fashion,
00:29 Catherine, Princess of Wales,
00:32 or otherwise she's still known,
00:34 although she's been married for so many years,
00:36 as Kate Middleton.
00:37 So in today's show, we're gonna be discussing,
00:40 I personally think,
00:42 well, actually I don't wanna argue too much with Natalie
00:45 because I think she looks good in whatever she wears,
00:47 formal or informal,
00:49 but I think she looks particularly good
00:51 in more formal wear.
00:53 So that's what we're gonna be talking about today.
00:56 So should I go first, Natalie,
00:58 or did you wanna go first,
01:00 talking about her informal clothes?
01:02 - I will let you go first.
01:05 - Well, when it comes to Catherine, Princess of Wales,
01:09 as I said only one minute ago,
01:11 I think she looks fabulous whatever she wears.
01:14 So I'm not gonna, I'm pretty good at arguing,
01:18 and Natalie might disagree with me.
01:20 I'm not gonna have a huge argument with Natalie and say,
01:23 oh, she never looks good in her casual wear,
01:25 but I do think that she looks better
01:29 in her more formal wear.
01:31 And a recent example of this,
01:33 just how incredible she looked,
01:35 is she recently, along with the Prince of Wales,
01:40 welcomed the South Korean president,
01:43 and she wore a stunning red cape coat dress
01:47 by Catherine Walker.
01:49 And I thought she looked phenomenal.
01:51 And I, Natalie,
01:53 are you gonna argue that she didn't look phenomenal,
01:55 or are you just gonna talk in a bit about her casual wear?
01:59 - I am not gonna disagree with you.
02:00 I do think that she looked incredible.
02:02 I think when she got out of the car
02:05 and she showed a bit of leg,
02:06 it gave me the whole like Angelina Jolie leg gate vibes.
02:10 But yeah, I agree.
02:13 I think she does look incredible
02:14 when she is dressed formally,
02:15 but I think she looks better more casual.
02:19 Another of my all time favorite formal outfits
02:23 that the Princess of Wales has worn
02:26 has to be the stunning Jenny Packham gold,
02:30 all sparkly dress that she wore to the James Bond premiere.
02:34 She looked like a Hollywood star.
02:36 No, I would go one step further and say,
02:39 she looked far superior to any Hollywood star.
02:43 And I love Jenny Packham,
02:45 and I love the Princess of Wales in Jenny Packham.
02:48 It was just phenomenal.
02:51 And the last outfit, but by no means the least,
02:53 because I could spend hours talking
02:56 about the Princess of Wales in more formal outfits,
02:59 is the powder blue, stunning Ellie Saab outfit
03:03 that she wore to Buckingham Palace garden party.
03:06 And she's worn the outfit before,
03:08 so she is the queen of recycling
03:10 and had worn it to Royal Ascot before.
03:13 It was she accessorized with a beautiful hat
03:15 with a flower at the side,
03:17 and it was just, the color was exceptional.
03:20 She looked incredible.
03:23 And there is no doubt,
03:26 no doubt in my mind that she looks far better
03:30 in formal outfits than in informal outfits.
03:33 So I'm gonna close my ears.
03:35 No, no, no, I'm not gonna close my ears.
03:37 I'm gonna hear Natalie's argument
03:39 for that she looks better in informal outfits.
03:42 So go for it, Natalie.
03:46 So yeah, I agree that she does look phenomenal
03:50 no matter what she wears.
03:51 But I think the reason why I think I prefer her
03:55 in more casual down to earth sort of wear
03:59 is because of the fact that she does look more down to earth
04:01 and her outfits are more attainable.
04:03 So, you know, she's a mother of three now in her forties.
04:09 I think that people do look at her for fashion inspiration.
04:13 And I think with her formal outfits,
04:18 it kind of is a bit like, oh yeah, they're nice,
04:21 but that's it.
04:22 Whereas I think on a recent trip to Scotland
04:25 with Prince William,
04:27 she wore a beautiful Burberry quilted dark green jacket.
04:32 Okay, it's Burberry and you know,
04:35 it was over a thousand pounds.
04:38 However, I think the look and the style of it
04:41 with the check and the color is, you know,
04:43 you could buy that in any sort of high street store.
04:46 Another time she wore a classic French look
04:52 of the cream sweater with the blue navy stripe.
04:57 Again, you know, it was by a French brand, quite luxury,
05:03 but you can pretty much pick that up online
05:07 or any high street store.
05:09 But for me, the one outfit that made me think
05:13 she has got style was the fact that she wore
05:17 a gray sweater vest to a recent event by,
05:20 I think it's David Cameron's wife, Samantha Cameron,
05:25 her brand, Cephin.
05:27 So again, it's a luxury brand,
05:30 but if you can make a sweater vest look cool and casual,
05:35 then you have definitely got style.
05:37 And I think when it comes to formal wear,
05:40 I'm not a hundred percent sure if she has a stylist,
05:42 but I think stylists will be involved.
05:44 Whereas I think when she comes to her day casual wear,
05:48 she still looks glamorous and stylish,
05:51 but I think that's more her and her sort of like,
05:54 this is me, this is what I want to wear.
05:55 So that is my argument.
05:58 And I will be dressing like Kate Middleton
06:00 when I go walking in the countryside next week.
06:03 - And I can't wait to see that, Natalie.
06:06 So you'll have to send me a photograph of yourself
06:08 walking in the countryside,
06:09 looking like the princess of Wales.
