00:00 Coach will start us off with an opening statement.
00:01 Please raise your hands for questions.
00:03 Coach?
00:04 - All right.
00:05 First of all, just recap very quickly.
00:07 Last week's game obviously did not play very well.
00:10 You go back and watch the film and, you know,
00:12 particularly on defense, didn't tackle well.
00:15 And didn't do the things that it took to win that game.
00:19 I don't think on that side of the ball,
00:21 particularly in offensively, you know,
00:22 limited possessions and I think we mentioned this
00:26 after the game, those first two three and outs,
00:28 or third and shorts we didn't get were huge.
00:30 You know, and then got the drive, the score,
00:34 make it 21-7 and then with a minute and a half to go,
00:36 then they go right back down to score.
00:37 I thought that was a big momentum for them.
00:39 I thought that was pretty much key in the game.
00:42 Again, proud of the guys in the fourth quarter,
00:45 you know, putting up a couple touchdowns
00:46 and holding them out of the end zone.
00:48 I thought that was certainly a positive.
00:50 But credit to West Virginia,
00:52 they played better than we did,
00:53 there's no question about it.
00:54 We're looking forward to this weekend, senior day.
00:58 You know, honoring these seniors,
01:00 more than 20 seniors that'll be walking.
01:01 When you think about the seniors now in this COVID era,
01:05 it's like, you know, who's senior, who's not, you know,
01:06 who's got another year coming back,
01:08 but we're gonna honor these seniors for sure.
01:11 Looking forward to that.
01:12 You know, some guys that have been here six years,
01:15 you know, Malik Van, Tosh Ward,
01:17 a couple guys that's been here a lot.
01:20 You know, won a lot of football games
01:22 and done a lot of great things.
01:23 Yeah, Ryan Montgomery's done a lot of great things.
01:25 I mean, so of course Briggs,
01:28 after transferring from Virginia.
01:29 I mean, there's a lot to celebrate with these guys.
01:32 You know, we certainly wanna send them out on a high note.
01:34 You know, we know Kansas is coming in here,
01:37 you know, arguably one of the better teams in the Big 12.
01:40 They've done a tremendous job over the last three years.
01:42 If you've kind of seen where they've come from,
01:45 you know, three years ago,
01:46 you know, when the coaching staff got there
01:49 to where they are right now, tremendous job.
01:53 They are coached very well when you watch the film
01:56 in all three phases.
01:58 The guys play extremely hard.
02:00 You know, offensively, they run the football.
02:03 They're gonna get you in a lot of different formations
02:05 and really they can control the game on the ground.
02:10 But they're also good enough to throw.
02:11 They're one of a few teams, probably not many,
02:13 that have started three quarterbacks this year.
02:16 And you know, and all three really have played well.
02:21 You know, I would suspect we'll see two quarterbacks
02:24 in this game.
02:25 And you know, last week, I think the Cole Bowder kid
02:28 started and played the whole game.
02:30 But I do think the other quarterback that played,
02:35 has played the last three or four weeks,
02:36 will end up playing as well.
02:38 And he can run.
02:39 He's one of the faster guys on their team as well.
02:42 And, but also can throw.
02:43 I mean, so they do a really nice job with that.
02:46 Devin Neal's a guy, I think he's got over 1100 yards rushing
02:48 as a running back right now.
02:51 You know, so very impressive on offense.
02:52 And then defensively, I think they got one of the better
02:55 defensive linemen, number nine's an outstanding
02:57 pass rush guy, very active.
03:00 And I think a great secondary.
03:02 Both safeties, they feel, they tackle very, very well.
03:06 And then both corners, I think are very, very solid.
03:08 I think number three's got, I think four picks.
03:11 Two of them, two of them went back to the house.
03:13 They took, you know, four touchdowns,
03:14 including in the Oklahoma game and Iowa State game.
03:19 You know, and, and, you know, so,
03:21 and they won both of those games.
03:22 So I, you know, credit to those, that coach and staff
03:25 for what they've been able to accomplish
03:26 and what they've done.
03:27 So we've got our work cut out for, for sure
03:30 when you're playing this team.
03:32 But again, we're, you know, we're honoring these seniors
03:34 and hopefully go out and play a great game.
03:36 - On Brady Lichtenberg.
03:40 - Yeah. You know, I think he's, you know,
03:42 he's still banged up and hurting, you know,
03:46 he'll be kind of day to day.
03:48 You know, and hopefully he'll be able to get out there
03:51 and do some things this week in practice.
03:52 And hopefully he'll be able to play this week, you know,
03:56 but you know, we'll see how it goes as the week goes on.
03:59 - Is there any possibility of seeing Brady Drogos
04:02 this week and explain just how difficult it is
04:05 in a guy in a situation like that,
04:06 where you have two quarterbacks that you're,
04:09 you're getting ready every week, the third guy.
04:11 - Yeah.
04:12 - It's difficult to get first and second team.
04:14 - It is. Yeah.
04:15 I mean, you know, when you think about three guys,
04:16 I think like when you look at Kansas, they played three,
04:18 but you know, their starter who went out.
04:20 So now for the last probably six weeks,
04:22 they're getting reps with those other two guys, you know,
04:25 and it is tough.
04:26 Drogos, he's gets reps, but just very, very limited.
04:29 And there's a chance.
04:30 I mean, we could potentially see Drogos this week.
04:32 You know, we'll see how it goes.
04:33 I mean, he's certainly, you know, a great athlete
04:36 and a guy who's been learning and learning.
04:38 One of the things we've been doing,
04:39 we started this, I think three weeks ago,
04:41 was at the end of Tuesday, Wednesday practices,
04:43 kind of young guy scrimmage.
04:45 And he's been getting, participating in that,
04:47 doing some really good stuff.
04:48 So it's been great to see.
04:51 And so, you know, it wouldn't be out of the realm
04:54 possibility for him to get out there and get some action.
04:55 And, you know, so I think, you know,
04:58 we'll just, again, we'll have to see how the week goes,
05:00 particularly for Lichtenberg, you know,
05:02 and then, you know, see where we're at with Drogos,
05:04 but he may could get some action as well.
05:07 - Your tight ends are way down, obviously,
05:09 with Shaman and then Singletary's injury.
05:12 What are you going to do there?
05:14 And then, bigger question, I guess,
05:16 how much of a problem is this in college football
05:18 when kids can just up and leave before the season's up?
05:22 - Yeah, that's the problem.
05:23 I mean, you see it across the nation.
05:25 And, you know, to speak on the tight end room,
05:28 you know, we also, you'd lose Joey Belgium in the spring.
05:31 So, I mean, essentially we're looking, you know,
05:33 your four top four tight ends are out, you know,
05:35 so you're down to, you know, really,
05:38 I think we've got a couple true tight ends
05:40 that are still available.
05:42 You know, we've, the last couple of weeks,
05:44 we've played Trevor, you know,
05:46 which is, you know, at the tight end position
05:47 to give you some, a little bit more blocking right there.
05:50 Evan Prater's done some things
05:52 as an H-back type player as well.
05:55 You know, give credit to Evan, he's very smart.
05:58 He's played a lot of different positions
06:00 as far as, you know, split end, you know,
06:03 a wide slot receiver and then the H-back.
06:05 So he's been able to do that.
06:06 So we're trying to take up the slack a little bit,
06:08 so to speak, with those guys, you know.
06:11 And then, yeah, I mean, you know, you mentioned this,
06:13 you know, which is, to me, is sad, you know,
06:15 that these, the players can't finish out a season,
06:18 you know, across college football, you know,
06:21 and, you know, you put so much hard work into it,
06:24 and, you know, when I think about,
06:25 we got guys that are, that are,
06:27 that have been on the scout team, you know,
06:29 for four or five years that are,
06:30 they're practicing their butts off
06:32 and doing everything they can to help the team win,
06:34 you know, you think about those guys that, man,
06:37 would do everything, a Ben Blevins guy, you know,
06:39 a Jair Thomas guy on our team, you know,
06:41 a guy that's been around for a while
06:42 and all they do is bust their butt in practice,
06:44 you know, and then you got guys doing that,
06:45 so I, you know, it's just a sad,
06:49 sad state of affairs, my opinion.
06:51 - Emory Jones, after the game on Saturday,
06:53 you just talked about kind of his career up until this point,
06:56 how this is gonna be his last college game
06:58 and how quickly it's gone as he got playing time.
07:00 What has this year meant to him
07:02 and what have you learned about him
07:04 and gotten to know about him?
07:05 Because obviously, it didn't go exactly according to plan
07:08 when he decided to come to Cincinnati.
07:10 - Who was that now?
07:11 I'm sorry.
07:11 Oh, Em, yeah.
07:12 Yeah, I mean, I think, you know,
07:14 his whole career has kind of been, you know,
07:17 it's a lot of ups and downs, as we mentioned.
07:20 You know, the thing I would say about him,
07:21 he's a great person, you know,
07:23 and he's come in here, he really didn't say much,
07:25 he just worked, you know,
07:27 earned the respect of his teammates
07:29 and, you know, and I would say that about, you know,
07:32 some of these, Braden Smith and Wiggins,
07:34 some of these guys that did the same thing to come over,
07:36 you know, Ollie, Donovan Ollie,
07:38 they're all, they're great kids.
07:40 I mean, and they really are.
07:41 They're great to work with.
07:42 They show up every day, you know,
07:45 trying to do the very best they can do, you know,
07:48 and obviously, you know,
07:49 you have high expectations for them.
07:51 They have high expectations for themselves
07:52 and sometimes you fall short of that, you know,
07:55 but I do think, for me, it's more about the person
07:58 and the character and how they handle themselves
08:00 and they've been awesome.
08:01 They've been awesome.
08:02 I do think they'll be successful
08:04 in whatever their endeavors in life is gonna be.
08:07 I think sometimes, you know, as fans and as people,
08:09 all we care about is how they perform on a Saturday,
08:13 you know, as for coaches, you know,
08:15 we care about that, how they perform on Saturday,
08:16 but we also care about the person.
08:17 We also care about how you carry yourself.
08:20 How are you gonna be as a father, as a husband,
08:22 as a community leader when you leave, you know,
08:25 this program and those guys are, man,
08:27 they're stand-up guys and, you know,
08:30 so, you know, certainly, you know,
08:33 they've had their ups and downs this year
08:35 and we have as a team, but I think, you know,
08:38 they can take away the fact that they've done things
08:40 the right way and, you know, very quality young men.
08:43 - I think it was leading up to the Oklahoma State game,
08:47 you were top 10 in rush defense in the country.
08:50 It's been a struggle since then.
08:52 Is there anything on tape that specifically
08:55 has kind of gone wrong in that department or is it?
08:58 - Well, I think, I mean, there's a couple things.
08:59 - Alec Gordon's really good.
09:01 - I think there's, well, yeah, I mean,
09:02 we play some good, good, good teams, man.
09:04 I mean, you know, shoot, I mean,
09:06 Central Florida's one of the top Russian teams,
09:08 West Virginia's one of the top Russian teams,
09:09 Olly Gordon's one of the top backs in the country.
09:11 I mean, we've played some really good teams
09:12 that can really run the football.
09:14 I think that's part of it.
09:15 Let's give them a little bit of credit,
09:17 but also I think, you know,
09:19 I just think the depth factor for us
09:20 has kind of wore down a little bit.
09:22 I think we've got some guys out there that are dinged up,
09:24 you know, and been playing that way.
09:26 I mean, you think about, I mean,
09:27 Threats has been dinged up, DP's been dinged up,
09:30 you know, Dingle's out there in the cast and he's been,
09:32 you know, so you think about it,
09:33 there's a lot of guys that we have to count on
09:36 and we're not really, you know, not really rotation much
09:39 there and, you know, and that's,
09:41 I think that's been a part of it.
09:43 I thought, you know, I just thought Saturday,
09:45 we didn't, we just didn't tackle very well.
09:47 Now credit to them, I mean, you know,
09:49 22's electric in space and the quarterback can really run
09:52 and, you know, but I think, I think all those,
09:55 for all those reasons is why we've had those,
09:57 those last, what, three or four games
09:59 have not been very well.
10:00 - As a follow-up, what has it been about running quarterbacks
10:04 or quarterbacks that can get out of the pocket
10:06 that has been an issue?
10:08 - Yeah, I mean, it certainly has.
10:09 I think, I think it's been, you know, two things.
10:12 One thing obviously is when you, when they scramble,
10:14 you know, 'cause we, we've done a pretty good job
10:16 in the last few games where we're covering the guys.
10:18 Well then, you know, now we get out of our rush lanes
10:21 and then all of a sudden they pop out
10:22 and now they're getting a first down on third down.
10:23 That's one aspect, but then also the design cue runs
10:27 have hurt us as well.
10:29 And I think, you know, last week in particularly,
10:32 there were some plays where, you know,
10:34 their design cue runs, man,
10:35 that quarterback really made us pay.
10:38 You know, and again, it's, when you do,
10:40 I mentioned this after the game,
10:42 is the fact that when you,
10:43 when you have the running back going one way
10:46 and the quarterback going the other,
10:47 you're splitting the defense.
10:48 So now it's going to be one or two guys
10:50 have to make that play.
10:52 You know, we didn't make the play.
10:53 And, and, you know, whether that quarterback was in space,
10:55 he's a very elusive and, you know,
10:58 we just didn't make the play.
10:59 And we got, you know, obviously I do a better job.
11:01 If you get, you know, your assignment is that quarterback,
11:03 you got to go make the play before you can get loose
11:04 and get in the secondary.
11:06 - You mentioned senior night, obviously for this Saturday
11:08 and guys like Juwan, Malik,
11:10 those guys who have been here a while,
11:12 just talk about how this Saturday night,
11:14 a night game will be a little bit more special for them
11:16 and what you've seen from those seniors
11:18 in your short time here.
11:19 - Yeah, I mean, you know, and I, I do, I feel,
11:21 I feel bad personally for these guys
11:23 'cause we hadn't had the kind of season
11:24 we'd want to have for them and the seniors,
11:27 you know, which have meant so much to this program,
11:30 this city, this school, you know,
11:33 and, you know, you obviously want to send them out
11:35 and let them end on a high note,
11:38 but you want to celebrate these guys.
11:40 You know, hopefully our, you know,
11:41 the fans will come out and celebrate these seniors
11:43 and show them appreciation for everything that they've done
11:46 for the program for many, many years.
11:48 And, you know, these guys have sacrificed a lot.
11:51 You know, you think about, you know,
11:53 early morning lifting for five years or six years
11:55 and all the meetings and all the blood, sweat,
11:59 and, you know, they put out there on that field
12:00 and practicing and then going out there and playing
12:03 and laying it all on the line, you know, for this program.
12:06 I think as a senior, you, especially when that game
12:09 gets ready to kick off,
12:10 you start thinking about those things.
12:12 You think about all the memories,
12:13 you think about all the people
12:14 that you came in contact with and you do, you get emotional.
12:17 You know, those guys will be emotional and, you know,
12:21 and certainly rightfully so
12:24 for all the things they've been through,
12:25 but hopefully we'll be able to celebrate these guys
12:27 this Saturday and, you know, lift them up
12:29 and hopefully they'll have a great game and go out on top.
12:33 - There's no bowl.
12:34 You were part of this so-called silly season last year.
12:38 How do you think it might be come into the game?
12:41 Because probably going to lose some,
12:44 probably you're going to gain some.
12:45 And the whole month of December is crazy
12:48 and has very little to do with on-field football.
12:51 It's just watching transactions.
12:54 - Yeah, just hold on tight
12:56 because something will happen every day.
12:57 I feel like when you get into December, right,
12:59 for everybody, it's going to be, you know,
13:02 that's the world we're living in now
13:03 and it's recruiting, which we've been recruiting,
13:06 you know, all season.
13:08 You know, when you think about the middle of December,
13:10 we'll sign high school players.
13:12 And then of course, December 4th, you know,
13:14 the portal will open up
13:16 and that'll be open all the way through December
13:18 and to the 1st of January.
13:19 And where, you know, certainly we'll probably have some guys
13:22 that'll get in the portal.
13:24 Every team in the country will.
13:25 And there'll be some movement
13:27 and there'll be some things that'll happen within that.
13:30 And so, you know, we're prepared for that.
13:32 You know, last year was way different
13:33 because you get in here and you're scrambling,
13:35 you're trying to get a staff,
13:36 you're trying to figure out what's going on
13:38 and much more difficult.
13:39 But now with our recruiting department in play
13:42 and our coaching staff,
13:45 we're all here and we're ready to go.
13:46 So I think it'll be, you know,
13:48 much better for us this off season,
13:50 as far as, you know,
13:50 gaining the proper players to come in here and help us win.
13:53 - I don't know if Barry Jackson got in the last game or not,
13:56 but if not, he's obviously going to play.
13:58 - That's right.
13:59 - Come Saturday.
14:00 That's got to be someone everyone's looking forward to,
14:02 to see more balls coming his way.
14:04 - Yeah, yeah, he didn't play.
14:05 So we, you know, he's got an opportunity to play this week.
14:08 We'll get him in.
14:09 He'll certainly play this week.
14:10 And, you know, he's a talented player
14:13 and he's worked hard this whole season
14:15 to learn a lot of things that are going on
14:16 within the offense.
14:17 And I think Braden Smith's done a great job with him
14:20 throughout this year to help teach him
14:22 and kind of show him the ropes.
14:23 And, you know, but he's an electric player
14:26 and, but he'll certainly be on the field this week.
14:29 - Can you take people through what the process looks like
14:33 in terms of meeting with guys, how that, that, you know,
14:38 what the day-to-day of that looks like
14:40 as we get through this weekend and go into the future?
14:42 - Yeah, I mean, so we'll have meetings with, you know,
14:45 exit meetings with all our players first of the week,
14:48 next week, and, you know, again,
14:51 figure out where we're at, you know,
14:53 you know, because you think about,
14:56 I think we have one more year of the COVID senior, right?
14:59 I think next year, maybe the last year of that, I think.
15:02 That's 24. Yeah.
15:03 I mean, that's been, yeah.
15:04 I mean, that's, I'm looking at teams we're playing.
15:06 They say senior, but I can't,
15:08 I don't know if that's, this their last year?
15:09 They got one more?
15:10 I mean, it's hard to tell, even with our own team.
15:12 And so, but we'll meet position by position,
15:15 figure out, all right, where we're at with everybody,
15:18 who's coming back, you know, who's exhausted eligibility,
15:22 who's leaving.
15:24 And then that'll, you know,
15:25 we'll try to get that game plan.
15:28 So as we move forward, hopefully by Wednesday,
15:30 we'll know where we're at.
15:31 Maybe we'll know our needs as far as in the portal goes.
15:34 As I mentioned before,
15:36 I think we've got maybe 22 committed,
15:38 something like that in high school ranks.
15:40 And then we'll figure out how many do we need
15:42 and what positions do we need
15:44 to go out into the portal and look.
15:45 And, you know, in a perfect world,
15:47 you'll be able to fill those needs
15:48 and get them in here in January.
15:50 That's what you really want.
15:50 I know last year, you know, we got,
15:52 I think Braden came into summer,
15:54 I think Xavier came into summer.
15:56 So, but you'd like to get these guys in that spring
15:58 so we can have them for spring practice.
16:00 So December is going to be wild and fast.
16:04 I mean, so particularly those first three weeks, right?
16:07 Then I think it becomes dead right around the 20th
16:09 or something like that.
16:10 So, you know, so we'll, but it'll be wild.
16:13 And then there'll be a lot of news happening.
16:16 You guys will know and see that.
16:18 And so we'll see where we're at throughout December.
16:21 - It's obviously important for every coach and program
16:23 to kind of form that culture around the specific team.
16:27 Is it harder in this portal era to do that?
16:29 'Cause, you know, recruiting high school guys,
16:31 you get to know them personally over a long period of time.
16:33 Now it's, these recruitments could be one week,
16:35 two week long, and then you have to find out who you have.
16:37 - Yeah, that's the most difficult part.
16:39 I mean, you know, it's a great point
16:40 because these high school guys,
16:42 I mean, I've talked to them at least once every week.
16:46 You know, for a long time.
16:47 So you really get to know them, you know,
16:49 'cause you just can't, I mean, when you talk to them
16:51 every week, you gotta come up with something
16:52 to talk about, right?
16:53 So, you get to know them.
16:54 And, you know, last night, I think I talked,
16:57 I think it was 29 guys I talked to last night,
16:59 high school players.
17:01 And so, you know, you get to know them.
17:04 But now when December 4th hits, you know,
17:06 all of a sudden, hey, this particular player comes in,
17:08 it's speed dating.
17:10 You know, you're getting on the phone,
17:11 you're talking to them, hey, you're interested in us,
17:14 hey, we're interested in you, all right,
17:15 well, boom, now it's on.
17:16 So then you start calling everybody
17:18 that maybe knows that player.
17:19 You try to get a pulse and figure out exactly what,
17:21 you know, who that player is and what makes him tick.
17:24 You know, what's the reasoning?
17:26 All right, what's happening here?
17:27 Why is he leaving or wherever he's at?
17:29 And all those type things.
17:30 And it's very difficult.
17:34 It's very difficult to figure out exactly
17:37 what kind of person you're getting.
17:38 You know, like, for example, Xavier, you know,
17:41 that happened pretty fast.
17:42 We got him in the summer,
17:43 but you know, he's a great kid.
17:44 He works his butt off.
17:45 Everything he does, he goes hard.
17:47 You know, so you want to find guys like that.
17:49 And, you know, Wiggins and Brayden,
17:50 of course, I knew those guys, you know,
17:52 so, you know, a little bit different.
17:54 But Donovan Ollie, we didn't know.
17:55 He came in, he's been awesome.
17:56 He's a great kid, great, I mean, love being around him.
17:59 So, you know, if we can find guys like that
18:01 with the right attitudes,
18:03 with the right perspective on things,
18:06 it's very difficult because when guys
18:09 are looking to transfer,
18:10 obviously they want to help themselves out,
18:11 but, you know, we're looking to build a team,
18:14 you know, team aspect.
18:15 And I think that's the thing that's the most difficult.
18:18 And so as we go through it,
18:19 we try to vet those guys as quickly as we can.
18:21 And, you know, we even brought guys in.
18:24 After talking to them, we brought them in.
18:26 And then we said,
18:27 "Hmm, I don't think he's going to fit for our program."
18:29 And here's the other good thing, I think.
18:31 So guys like Corleone and some other guys on our team,
18:34 they'll want to know, all right,
18:35 who are we bringing in here?
18:37 They'll want to be around them.
18:38 And they'll help us get a good pulse too
18:40 about, you know, who these guys are.
18:43 - You obviously said it's going to be wild and crazy.
18:45 How do you, as basically a human being,
18:47 stay sane during a time like this,
18:49 where it feels like you're running on a thousand miles?
18:51 - Yeah, I mean, it's hard.
18:52 I mean, it really is.
18:53 I mean, I try to, you know,
18:55 when you're not doing all that,
18:56 I try to get with my wife and family
18:58 and just have some sort of normalcy,
19:00 but it's very hard to do.
19:03 You can't even have normalcy, you know,
19:05 anymore in the coaching realm that we're in.
19:09 Particularly when you start in August,
19:10 'cause we're here every day, you know,
19:11 at least 12 hours a day for seven days a week,
19:14 all the way through.
19:14 And then, like I said, December doesn't stop.
19:16 You know, we're going to be recruiting our players here,
19:19 high school players and portal
19:21 all the way through Christmas, you know?
19:23 And then, you know, during Christmas, man,
19:25 hopefully you can get a little bit of a break
19:27 and relax for a week or whatever.
19:29 And then you're right back on it in January.
19:31 But it is very, very difficult
19:33 to try to separate the work from family life.
19:38 - How valuable is having a guy like Zach Grant
19:41 that is familiar with the portal?
19:43 - Yeah.
19:44 - I mean, was that one of the biggest requirements
19:47 of that job is to have somebody familiar with it?
19:49 - Yeah, you know, Zach and all our guys,
19:52 Carter and Jack and Cass,
19:54 I mean, the guys in the recruiting department,
19:55 they've done a phenomenal job.
19:57 They understand, I mean, you know, great,
20:00 they have to be great at roster management.
20:01 And so, we go over it every single week.
20:03 We're looking at our roster,
20:04 we're looking at each position,
20:05 we're looking at needs,
20:06 we're looking at, you know,
20:07 potential guys that may leave,
20:09 or, you know, where guys wanna bring in
20:11 and pull, all these things.
20:13 And so, we have a great plan, which is awesome.
20:15 And so, and now you have that plan,
20:18 now we gotta go work it, you know.
20:19 But to have him to be able to do all that,
20:22 'cause, you know, as head coaches,
20:24 you can't do all that.
20:25 I mean, you just can't, you don't have time.
20:26 And, but to have that department that you trust,
20:29 that's gonna put the work in,
20:30 man, they've been tremendous.
20:31 And, you know, but we'll see,
20:33 we'll see how this all ends out.
20:34 We'll see how good they are, you know,
20:35 when January gets here.
20:37 - Final, on Kansas, we'll get back to that for a second.
20:41 The run defense has struggled lately.
20:43 Does it keep you up at night,
20:44 watching the rush offense?
20:46 'Cause it's as good,
20:47 the numbers might not say it,
20:48 but they're as good as anybody in the country.
20:49 - They are, they're tremendous.
20:51 I mean, it's, to me,
20:52 this is one of the best teams in the Big 12.
20:54 And, you know, they lost,
20:56 they've lost a couple of games.
20:57 I mean, you know, Kansas State,
20:59 I mean, they're up,
21:00 they're up 27 to 14, or 15, or 16,
21:03 I can't remember.
21:05 And Kansas State, should have thrown a pick six,
21:07 on the minus 15 yard line,
21:09 linebacker drops it.
21:10 And then the next play,
21:11 Kansas State goes 52 yards,
21:13 three plays later, they score,
21:14 they get right back in the game.
21:15 And they ended up winning the game.
21:17 And, you know, crazy.
21:18 And I do, I do think they're one of the best teams
21:21 out there in the Big 12.
21:22 They're one of the best running teams.
21:24 You know, that, you know,
21:25 two really good backs,
21:27 and then last week,
21:28 they're doing the Wildcat.
21:29 They, I think, maybe four different people
21:30 caught a snap last week.
21:32 I mean, they put the pressure on you.
21:34 They play hard, they're physical,
21:36 coach well, all the things, so yes.
21:38 I didn't, I woke up last,
21:39 I couldn't sleep last night.
21:40 So yeah, these guys are good.
21:42 There's no question.
21:43 - Any other questions for coach?
21:46 Thank you sir.
21:47 - All right, thanks guys.
21:48 Thank you.
