00:02 For now, the illustration of the Pittsburgh Steelers season has
00:05 been some good fortune, some close games, just sort of piecing it together.
00:10 This is why Mike Tomlin is a great coach.
00:12 But I think for the first time maybe yesterday, Jacob, I don't know if you
00:15 agree, a little bit exposed yesterday in a game against Cleveland.
00:18 Now I know that the Browns have a really good defense.
00:21 And I think Pittsburgh probably can just do what they've done all year and
00:25 somehow find their way into the playoffs.
00:28 But this just can't be, I would say, the recipe for success long term,
00:33 especially when you think back about all the success they had under Bruce Arians
00:38 as offensive coordinator and obviously with Big Ben at quarterback.
00:41 And I know Kenny Pickett was clearly not the guy there.
00:45 But I feel like this is gonna be something they do in the off season right now.
00:49 I still see Pittsburgh as what, a 9-10 win team?
00:52 I think they can get there.
00:53 >> Yeah, I think they're a playoff team as well.
00:56 They just have such a good defense right now.
00:59 And I know they're a little susceptible at times in the secondary.
01:01 But with that pass rush and their just ability to play rock solid up in
01:05 the front seven and take away opposing running games,
01:08 I see them being a tough out more than anything else.
01:11 They're like that pesky team that you look at and you say,
01:15 we don't really, not gonna be easy.
01:16 And I think the number one change they're going to be making this off season is
01:20 gonna come at the offensive coordinator position.
01:23 Mike Tomlin has given Matt Canada a chance to prove himself in this role.
01:26 I believe this is his third season.
01:28 And the offense just hasn't progressed at all.
01:30 And I get that that may not entirely be Canada's fault because Kenny Pickett has
01:34 not looked good at all.
01:35 But given what this organization tends to do, I think the Steelers will probably
01:40 give Pickett one more year to try to prove himself with a new offensive
01:44 coordinator who can maybe try to get a little bit more out of him.
01:47 But as it's currently constructed, Kenny Pickett has not shown enough as a passer
01:52 to you look at him and you say, this guy's gonna go out and win you games.
01:56 You're gonna look at him and say,
01:57 you win games sort of in spite of him more than because of him.
02:00 And he's had some nice clutch drives at the end of regulation.
02:03 He's cut down on his mistakes, but
02:05 there's just not much big play potential there with him right now.
02:09 Maybe that'll change in a new offense.
02:10 But until that does, the Steelers, their ceiling is gonna be capped as one of
02:14 those really good pesky teams, but not a championship caliber team.
