00:02 Here's a look at the Diamond Select Legends in Three Dimensions Avengers Infinity War
00:06 Iron Man Mark 50 1/2 scale resin bust.
00:11 He is Iron Man.
00:31 Based on his appearance in the Avengers Infinity War, this 1/2 scale resin bust of Iron Man
00:35 features detailed sculpting and paint applications and sits atop a detailed pedestal base.
00:39 Limited to only 1,000 pieces, it comes packaged with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
00:44 While Tony has the unfortunate task of having to talk down aliens from another world, I'd
00:49 like to thank the folks over at Diamond Select that did provide this sample of the Legends
00:52 in Three Dimensions Iron Man Mark 50 that we could have a look at in this review.
00:56 The statue is available as of right now in comic book stores and online depending on
01:00 where you're surfing for your stuff.
01:02 Some sites in fact actually have marked down the statue at being around $180.
01:05 I think before that it was probably more close to $200.
01:08 So again you may want to shop around if you guys are looking to get this statue in your
01:11 collection.
01:12 We're also as well going to grab the tape measure and see how tall the statue stands.
01:15 Now Tony as it is right now is only just his top half, basically from his shoulders up.
01:20 That translates though to a statue that's 10 inches in height or it's going to be 26
01:24 centimeters tall.
01:25 And to come in clear with the statue, you do get yourself a certificate of authenticity
01:29 once again to indicate that this is an officially authentic Diamond Select release, the Iron
01:33 Man Mark 50 1/2 scale resin bust.
01:36 To stress already that it's only at 1,000 copies, the one that was provided at least
01:39 to me I think is 656 or it could be 65B.
01:44 That doesn't make any sense.
01:45 It's probably 656 but it is of a very limited quantity, only 1,000 copies.
01:49 I would always have told you in the past that it's always good to have these kind of displayed
01:53 along with the statues.
01:54 That's what I usually like to do, just put them like on little standees and then have
01:58 the standee card displayed along with the statue.
02:01 One thing I though will add to that is if you are looking to do the same, just want
02:04 to make sure that you're not having this anywhere near a window or a light source,
02:09 anywhere that the sunlight can actually come in because that may start to fade this.
02:12 And if ever down the road you decide you want to part ways with the statue, the last thing
02:15 you really would want to do is offer up a certificate of authenticity.
02:18 It has a faded number or as the card as a whole, it's just faded completely.
02:22 I'm going to move the card to the side right now.
02:24 I'm going to put that eventually back in the box before I put this guy on display.
02:28 Getting this guy also speaking out of the box is a little bit more difficult.
02:31 Normally with Legends in three dimensions, I always found it was easiest just to kind
02:34 of grab it from the bottom of the base.
02:36 The thing though about this specific suit, the Mark 50, the way it's actually designed,
02:42 is designed very something similar as well to the actual base bottom.
02:46 Picking this up as carefully as I am, you can see the way it sort of spirals itself.
02:51 There's actually nothing really edgy or cornered where you can actually easily grab onto this.
02:56 So in fact, I actually had a harder time to try to remove first the statue from its styrofoam
02:59 as carefully as it was packed.
03:01 Just because again, like it really wasn't a lot to honestly hold onto when it came to
03:04 the bottom of the base.
03:05 That being said though, with a few little fragments remaining of styrofoam, we just
03:09 move those out of the way.
03:10 The base is actually very nicely sculpted, though it's just again very hard to kind of
03:13 hold onto.
03:15 The base sort of has more of a contoured shape this time around and using the colors of course
03:19 gunmetal, we've got some additional golds also added in there as well.
03:22 And the light sources that he has in some of the areas dedicated on his body carried
03:26 nicely here also as well.
03:28 You've got the lighter blue in the middle and then sort of darker banding of blue around
03:32 that.
03:33 It's again a really interesting looking base.
03:34 Certainly enough to also stabilize the standing of the statue, but it's a lot of S's.
03:38 The only thing again about it is just taking it first initially out of the styrofoam, it
03:42 was really hard to kind of hold on to anything just because again, the way it's sort of contoured.
03:46 While we're also on the top subject of the base, tilting it carefully upside down.
03:51 It also confirms my original idea that this was 656 out of 1000 copies, but also on the
03:55 bottoms of the feet as well.
03:57 For bottoms of the base, you also have some foam feet to prevent scratching on surfaces.
04:01 Now not only are these foam feet also crucial to prevent any scratching on whatever surface
04:04 you have the statue on, but also it lifts this away that if you're sliding this around,
04:08 it doesn't in the process wear this number off because again, you really wouldn't want
04:11 that number to wear in the process.
04:13 It is as you can see, it's Marvel manufactured by Diamond Select and it's made in China.
04:17 Carefully though, as carefully as I can be, I'm going to tilt this up so you can get a
04:20 closer look at the Mark 50.
04:22 This is a one half scale bus.
04:24 So it's essentially Iron Man inside the suit or Tony inside this Iron Man suit.
04:27 It would basically like half the scale, half the scale large and half the scale is obviously
04:31 in height.
04:32 The detail though done here and captured by Diamond's talented team, you can see like
04:36 the way that it's really been nicely replicating the look of the Mark 50 suit in the Iron Man
04:41 Infinity, oh, in the Avengers Infinity War movie.
04:44 I really, this is one of my favorite suits in fact of the films.
04:46 I was kind of still go back to the original like Mark 5 as being all my all time favorite,
04:51 but there's something to be said as well for the Mark 50, just the more sleeker design
04:54 of it.
04:55 It's also takes a little bit of a departure from the more traditional reds and golds.
04:59 There's red here this time around for the Mark 50 suit, but the coloring is actually
05:02 kind of more of an orangish red, similar to the way he would have had in the movie.
05:06 Still has the gold visor here on the front and of course you've got the eyes there, colored
05:10 in the same way as we looked at the base below.
05:12 So you've got the more lighter colors and almost even a closer border lining white and
05:16 then you got the lighter colors of the blue all around that.
05:18 It really does give you the idea that the lights on the eyes are illuminated and that
05:22 same color scheme also carries over down to the lower half of the body as well.
05:26 Very, very well painted.
05:27 There are a few little areas, admittingly, that I wish that they could have panel lined
05:31 a little bit better.
05:32 If you were to say look at the side here, for example, like between the gold and this
05:37 sort of again orangey red, you can kind of see there's a panel lining right there.
05:41 I wish they had maybe darkened it a little bit because you can kind of see from the side
05:44 the way the red is carried into that little creased area here.
05:49 I mean really when you're looking at it from the side, it's still a really well painted
05:52 statue.
05:53 I wish they could have maybe gone in there and just darkened some of the little areas
05:56 here of the panel lining just because again, it doesn't look maybe as finished as it
06:00 maybe could have or could have potentially.
06:03 I mean again on this side it actually doesn't look as bad.
06:06 Some of that black lining I was talking about earlier looks a little bit better, I feel,
06:10 admittingly, on this side.
06:11 But again, it's a really well sculpted statue.
06:14 Now with the colors carried over here to the lower half of the body, the top half of the
06:17 body, because again we're only getting the bust part of it, you have the arc reactor
06:20 there in the middle and again you've got that nice color of the lighter white in the
06:23 middle, lighter on the blue on the outside of it, and then it's bordered nicely in
06:27 this dark gunmetal gray.
06:29 In a way it does look like it's illuminating even though it really isn't.
06:32 Paint is also carried over in the same placements of the shoulders also as well.
06:35 You've got again like that nice use of gold and a nice use of this.
06:38 Again I would almost kind of in a way describe it as like a ketchup red, even though ketchup
06:43 I think is even a little darker than what we're actually getting right here.
06:46 Spin the statue around.
06:47 Now it's not going to be necessarily finished here.
06:49 Normally when we get these Legends in three dimensions busts, they're usually painted
06:53 here on the top and they're not painted always as much here on the bottom.
06:56 So we got in a way more of an unfinished body.
06:58 It's not really supposed to replicate really the idea that Tony Stark's top half of his
07:02 body is literally just cut right off.
07:04 It's supposed to look more like an art piece.
07:05 And for that I don't mind the fact that this whole section here is all just dark, almost
07:09 in a way unfinished black plastic or unfinished resin I should say.
07:14 Again you can see the sculpting on the back of the base here again really carries over
07:17 that nice gold and the silver and the gunmetal gray with the additional blue there on the
07:20 top.
07:21 The statue looks really good.
07:22 There's again only just a few little areas that I did mention from before.
07:26 The back of it looks okay.
07:27 There are sections right here where you can kind of see the red bleeds then onto the gold.
07:32 My only real thing is just I wish that the panel lining was just a little more cleaned
07:35 up.
07:36 I think there as you can see like a little unfinished would be probably the best way
07:40 I would describe it.
07:41 But other than that though it's a really nice looking statue.
07:43 The only thing I would really certainly say when it comes to if you're looking to get
07:46 this one for yourself, really be careful taking it out of the package.
07:49 You may even saw at the beginning of the review how I stumbled a little bit honestly just
07:52 trying to pull this out from the styrofoam.
07:54 Because with the way the bases are normally set up for the Legends in three dimensions
07:57 there's a lot more I feel to hold on to with normal bases.
08:00 With Iron Man being more the sleeker more rounded contour design that he has of the
08:05 suit.
08:06 So they carried that over nicely in the bottom of the base as well.
08:08 But they carried it over also in a way that there's not as much really to hold on to.
08:12 Everything is kind of a little more smoother, slicker and more rounded off.
08:15 So of course if you are looking to get this one for yourself just be careful.
08:18 Just be careful taking out a styrofoam tray.
08:20 And of course it goes without saying, any time that you can be moving the statue around
08:23 be careful with it as well.
08:25 But if you are a fan though of the Iron Man Mark 50 suit from the Avengers Infinity War
08:29 it's a really great looking statue to be picking up and putting on the shelf.
08:32 I can't speak for your local comic book stores.
08:34 Depending on where you are located some comic book stores may or may not stock Legends in
08:38 three dimensions.
08:39 I can certainly tell you from my own personal experiences that the three comic book stores
08:42 closest to my house don't stock Legends in three dimensions.
08:46 What they do though stock is the premier collections like the higher end resin pieces that Diamond
08:49 has been putting out.
08:50 They certainly do stock as well the lower priced PVC gallery statues.
08:54 But somewhere though, met in the middle, Legends in three dimensions don't seem to be stocked
08:57 as much.
08:58 So if I ever look to get a brand new piece I'm usually checking them online.
09:01 And at least the sites that I'm looking at right now when it comes to the Mark 50 seem
09:05 to have this guy marked down.
09:06 At one point he was $199.99 so he was around that closer to $200 price.
09:11 Since then some of the comic book online sites at least seem to be stocking him at around
09:15 $179.99.
09:16 So it's about, depending on where you are of course you're always shopping, he's a little
09:19 bit less so if you're looking to get this guy for yourself.
09:22 What a prime time, a perfect time, an Iron Man time to get the Iron Man Mark 50 Legends
09:25 in three dimensions.
09:26 All in all it's a good looking statue.
09:28 There are of course a few little areas that we talked a little bit about in this review.
09:31 Down to the details, some of them aren't as fine as I would like.
09:34 I mean some of the areas between the red and the gold that he has on the body aren't as
09:38 sharply panel lined as I would have liked.
09:41 But still from head, I would have said head to toe, but head to I guess the front of his
09:45 chest it's a nice looking Iron Man Mark 50.
09:48 If you are a fan also of the Iron Man suits, the good thing also about the Legends in three
09:51 dimensions is as I've already said in other reviews of them, is they don't take up a lot
09:55 of space at all.
09:56 They're an ideal statue that if you still want a higher end, like the premier feel of
10:00 a resin statue, but you just don't have the space to work with, Diamond Select honestly
10:04 is the best route to go.
10:06 Check out the stuff that they're doing with Legends in three dimensions and you might
10:08 even find yourself being a new collector of them.
