00:00 (upbeat music)
00:02 - Hi everyone, it's Nancy and Marina
00:17 at nationalworld.com back with Good Week, Bad Week,
00:20 and there've been some very interesting weeks.
00:23 Katie Price, I'm told I'm not allowed to call her Jordan,
00:26 but has she had a good week or a bad week,
00:28 do you think, Marina?
00:29 - I think Katie, no, you're not allowed
00:32 to call her Jordan for start.
00:33 I think she's had a good week for Katie Price
00:36 'cause she's had a lot of bad weeks recently.
00:39 So I'd say it's definitely a good week for her
00:42 'cause, you know, clever businesswoman,
00:44 well, let's see if, you know,
00:46 charging 80 pounds for a makeup class
00:48 with her and her daughter, Princess.
00:51 So yeah, I'd say it's a good week for her.
00:54 And she's had, as I said, had a lot of bad weeks
00:57 and gets a lot of bad press,
00:59 but yeah, what are your thoughts on Katie?
01:01 - Yep, definitely a good week for Katie Price.
01:03 My daughter is called Jordan.
01:06 She's 24 and only one person,
01:08 I worked at Boots at the time on the makeup counter,
01:10 and one of my friends went, "Oh, that's a page three model."
01:13 And I went, "Yeah, that's fine.
01:15 "Nobody's gonna even remember her."
01:17 And here we are 24 years later, talking about it.
01:19 She is a genius at manipulating the public attention
01:24 for good or bad.
01:25 She's sillier, she's made loads of money,
01:27 she might have lost it all,
01:28 but I think brilliant businesswoman.
01:30 I wouldn't do it that way,
01:31 but she's been the one who's most been manipulated,
01:35 you would have thought.
01:35 She started out by page three, but here she is.
01:39 I think she's brilliant.
01:40 I never thought I would say that,
01:41 certainly didn't when somebody said,
01:42 "Are you naming your daughter after a page three model?"
01:45 Can you imagine?
01:46 - No, I mean, she has had a really difficult time.
01:50 She's done some not so great things at the time,
01:52 especially with her animals
01:53 who seem to be let out of the gate.
01:55 And I don't agree with that, obviously.
01:58 You have to look after your animals and your pets.
02:01 But she's had, as you said, she's had a lot of money,
02:05 lost a lot of money, had difficult relationships.
02:09 And I don't think what people
02:11 don't give her enough credit for
02:13 is obviously she's got a few children,
02:16 but raising her son, Harvey, which hasn't been easy for her.
02:21 She's been well-documented,
02:24 suffers from various conditions,
02:26 and she was pretty much left single-handedly
02:28 to bring him up.
02:29 And she's done the best job that she possibly can.
02:32 And I admire her greatly for that.
02:34 - Good week, Kate and Christ and Jordan.
02:37 Okay, Soheila Braverman,
02:38 I never thought I would say this,
02:41 sitting in Sheffield,
02:42 sitting as Labour through and through,
02:44 but what a brilliant week for Soheila Braverman.
02:47 Do you think she's had a good week?
02:49 I mean, not many people lose their job,
02:50 and yet they've had a brilliant week.
02:52 - I never thought, Nancy, you would say that either.
02:56 I never thought you'd say Soheila Braverman
02:59 has had a good week.
03:01 So yeah, I'm sitting here a little bit in shock as well,
03:04 but I have to agree with you.
03:08 It's been a good week.
03:09 Some would say the opposite,
03:11 but talk about a damning resignation letter.
03:16 - She set herself up to be prime minister,
03:18 and it's no doubt gonna happen
03:19 'cause there's nobody else getting as much attention.
03:21 She said, "If the votes fail, it's not my fault.
03:25 "If they succeed, it is my fault."
03:27 And she got all the attention,
03:29 and she's completely destroyed.
03:30 Rishi Sunak, who looks weaker than ever,
03:33 it's a masterclass in how to get to the top.
03:36 It is really ironic that in any other job,
03:38 if you burn your bridges,
03:40 it's a small industry often, particularly journalism.
03:43 You're not coming back, are you?
03:44 In politics, burn your bridges,
03:46 you get to be prime minister.
03:47 They've all done it.
03:48 Backstab your boss, and up you go to the top.
03:50 So my money, if you've got any money you wanna bet,
03:52 Soheila Braverman for the very top,
03:54 and it's thanks to what she's done this week.
03:56 Nasty as she is, and I disagree with all the politics,
03:59 but she's played it well.
04:01 - She has played it well,
04:02 but I don't know if I agree with you
04:03 that she's gonna make it to the top,
04:05 just because I always think it's never the ones
04:08 that you think it's going to be.
04:11 And I am betting at the moment
04:14 on somebody who's kept very quiet
04:17 and is sort of pacing herself,
04:18 and I might be wrong,
04:19 is I think it might be Kemi Badenop.
04:21 - Yeah, possibly, but they come and go so quick.
04:23 We can have both of them in the next 18 months
04:25 and nobody blink.
04:26 That's how politics works these days.
04:28 In Sheffield, they're making jokes
04:29 about they should bring Maggie Thatcher back.
04:31 She was never very popular,
04:32 but there's so many people coming back.
04:34 - Talking about, it's almost,
04:36 if you're saying bringing back Maggie Thatcher,
04:38 obviously he's no longer alive,
04:40 talking about somebody who no longer is alive as well
04:43 is Princess Diana.
04:45 - Yes.
04:46 Good week or bad week for Di?
04:49 - I think it, again, do we have a,
04:51 I would say it's a good week.
04:53 - Would you agree or would you say it's a bad week?
04:56 - I think she loved detention.
04:58 Little bit like Katie Price,
05:00 she caught to detention, didn't she?
05:02 Now, I know she had lots of things going against her,
05:04 but she was married to the most influential,
05:07 richest family in the country, arguably in the world,
05:11 and she played it for all she possibly could
05:14 after going through troubled times.
05:15 She would love the fact
05:16 that they're recreating her dresses.
05:18 I think she'd love the fact we're still talking about her
05:20 decades after she's died.
05:22 I'll tell you what I think we disagree on.
05:24 I think she'd be absolutely furious
05:25 and she'd have changed what's happened to Meghan and Harry.
05:28 I think if she'd been alive, that would well be different.
05:31 And I think she'd be so bored by Wills and Kate.
05:33 I think she'd be like, "Come on, guys.
05:35 Is this where we are?
05:36 You could have been,
05:36 they could have been dropped into a family 200 years ago
05:39 and it'd still be the same boring old nonsense
05:40 that nobody's interested in."
05:42 - Yeah, for me, I do have personally,
05:45 do, I'm a massive Diana.
05:48 Don't know if you'd call her a fan, but I still shocked.
05:51 I had to bring myself to watch the first episode
05:54 and I was sort of pacing myself
05:57 to watch the horrific sort of, you know, the crash.
06:00 And that was sort of,
06:01 they haven't sort of dealt with it as yet.
06:03 They just showed her,
06:04 it started with somebody walking by with his dog
06:08 and then seeing it, the crash unfold.
06:10 And then they cut back to her going on the yacht with Dodie.
06:14 And it's quite interesting.
06:16 You forget all that happened
06:18 and that Dodie was engaged to a model, Kelly Fisher,
06:22 and that Dodie summoned him and sort of,
06:24 well, according to the Crown,
06:26 it's again, what we were discussing,
06:28 facts and fiction, orchestrated the romance
06:31 and demanded that he break off his engagement
06:35 to Kelly Fisher.
06:36 - At the end of the day,
06:38 another reason it's been a brilliant week for Diana
06:41 is because it was a King's birthday.
06:43 It's got the Queen who most people say
06:45 should never be Queen.
06:47 She's dull, she's boring.
06:48 We all know about the embarrassing,
06:50 tapped conversations between the two of them
06:52 and guests who were talking about guests
06:54 who were saying they were like,
06:55 she's been dead for decades.
06:56 Great week for Diana.
06:58 Let's leave it there.
06:59 Back next week for more controversy.
07:01 We'll see who we can find for Good Week, Bad Week.
07:04 Thank you.
07:05 - Thank you.
