00:02 - Hi, my name is Marina Lisht,
00:16 Associate Editor of nationalworld.com.
00:19 And on Good Week, Bad Week today,
00:21 I'm being joined by Natalie Dixon,
00:23 Entertainment Reporter on nationalworld.com.
00:26 And we're gonna be discussing Nella Rose
00:28 of "I'm a Celebrity" 2023,
00:32 Lorraine Kelly and Kim Kardashian.
00:35 So I think we should kick off with Nella Rose,
00:39 who has created quite a stir,
00:42 I think that's putting it mildly,
00:43 on "I'm a Celebrity" and I would most definitely say
00:47 she's had a very, very bad week.
00:52 What are your thoughts on Nella Rose and her week, Natalie?
00:57 - Yeah, I totally agree, I think
00:59 she's definitely had a bad week.
01:02 I think that going into the jungle
01:05 with a bit of a following,
01:08 but relatively unknown was quite a good thing for her.
01:11 It was a way to sort of springboard her career.
01:15 Unfortunately, she had an argument with Fred Siriax
01:19 over a just silly little thing.
01:25 I think he sort of made a comment about,
01:27 "I'm old enough to be a father,"
01:29 which everybody knows that saying,
01:31 it's just quite common,
01:32 but she took it really, really badly,
01:35 very offended by the fact that she's lost her father.
01:39 And I think it might've just been
01:41 a little bit of a trigger for her,
01:43 but her reaction was seen by a lot of people
01:47 as an overreaction.
01:48 And I think she just took it one step too far.
01:51 He apologized and he did the best that he could,
01:56 but she just didn't take it.
01:58 And now she's still not speaking to him,
02:00 which is not the best way to be in the jungle
02:03 when you've only got a few people there.
02:04 - I totally agree with you regarding Nella Rose.
02:06 I mean, when I first, before the episode even started,
02:10 they sort of gave a little sort of short snippet
02:13 of what was gonna occur.
02:14 And I thought, "Oh my God, what's Fred said?
02:16 It's bound to be something really offensive.
02:18 Poor Nella Rose."
02:20 But then I was watching it,
02:21 and I think like everybody else,
02:22 I was completely dumbfounded.
02:24 As you said, I think it was definitely an innocent comment.
02:28 I'm old enough to be your dad.
02:30 I don't think he meant anything by it.
02:32 And Nella Rose, I understand it was a triggering
02:36 sort of point for her,
02:37 because obviously she's lost both her parents,
02:40 but the reaction was just totally uncalled for.
02:44 And the fact that she's saying,
02:45 "I'm not eating any food that you prepare.
02:48 Keep away from me."
02:50 And he apologized, and she's just continuing it.
02:53 And it's no wonder poor Fred was trending
02:58 as a hashtag the other day.
03:00 So I think it's definitely been a terrible week
03:03 for Nella Rose.
03:05 Talking of other bad weeks,
03:06 I personally think it's been a bad week.
03:09 And I know she's a lot of people's favorite
03:11 for Lorraine Kelly.
03:12 So I don't know if you saw it, Natalie,
03:14 Lorraine Kelly criticized,
03:17 and some people would say, "Good on you, Lorraine Kelly,
03:20 for criticizing Nigel Farage."
03:22 She actually said something like,
03:24 "Oh, he's got the face he deserved."
03:26 But I think she didn't expect the backlash that she received
03:30 because a lot of people commented,
03:33 "You shouldn't be body shaming someone."
03:35 And this comes just after Kay Burley
03:39 had a go at David Cameron,
03:42 the surprise announcement that took everybody
03:46 sort of was by surprise
03:48 when David Cameron was made a foreign secretary.
03:51 So as he was entering number 10,
03:53 she made a comment about how he's put on weight.
03:57 So I wrote a comment,
03:59 wrote an article in "The National World"
04:01 about how I don't think it's fair for,
04:04 you know, it's okay,
04:05 I don't think it's fair for women to body shame men
04:09 in the same way I don't think it's fair
04:10 that men should body shame women.
04:13 And I just think it wasn't on for both of them.
04:16 And then I think if Kay Burley had been a man
04:18 and made that comment about a female politician,
04:21 she would, if he'd been a man, he would have got the sack.
04:24 So I don't think it was a great comment by Lorraine Kelly.
04:29 I don't know what you think about that.
04:31 - No, again, I agree.
04:34 Like if it was the other way round,
04:36 everybody there'd be uproar over it
04:39 and everybody would be saying how, you know,
04:41 you shouldn't body shame people.
04:43 And so the fact that, I don't know,
04:46 maybe Lorraine thought that it was kind of okay
04:49 to say it about Nigel Farage
04:51 because he's not a very popular person anyway.
04:56 And I think she probably thought that,
04:58 you know, not expecting any sort of backlash
05:01 because it's him.
05:02 But yeah, you shouldn't comment about anybody's appearance
05:07 no matter what their age or sex or whatever.
05:10 So yeah, I was very shocked about Lorraine Kelly
05:13 considering she is such,
05:15 or meant to be such a lovely person.
05:18 - So from two bad weeks,
05:19 we've got to have someone who's had a good week.
05:21 So who should we talk about now?
05:23 I think we've got to talk about Kim Kardashian
05:26 who has most certainly had, I'd say a fantastic week.
05:30 I mean, at the moment,
05:31 I don't think she ever has had a bad week
05:33 in sort of recent memory.
05:35 And it seems like Skims, her fashion sort of underwear brand
05:40 is going from strength to strength with searches up.
05:43 She's just launched the menswear.
05:46 So what's your view on Kim K?
05:49 - I love Kim Kardashian.
05:54 I think she, as much as she gets the sort of,
05:57 oh, she's just an influencer
05:59 and oh, she does everything for pictures and things.
06:02 - No, no, no, can I just say that?
06:04 - She's a busy woman.
06:04 - As we know, and we've discussed,
06:06 she's certainly not just an influencer.
06:10 - No, definitely not.
06:12 She is a business woman.
06:14 And I think that I'm so happy for her
06:18 that her business is actually thriving.
06:21 Because I think as soon as you hear about,
06:23 oh, just one of the Kardashians
06:27 starting off a new brand or whatever,
06:29 a lot of people roll their eyes,
06:31 but she's proven that it is a good brand.
06:36 I haven't yet bought anything,
06:38 but I think her whole thought behind it was,
06:42 she doesn't like wearing bras that are uncomfortable.
06:45 So she wanted to make a product
06:48 that was comfortable for women,
06:50 but fashionable as well.
06:51 And you make you feel good about yourself.
06:53 I mean, who doesn't want to have that?
06:55 So it's no surprise to me that it's doing really well.
06:59 I think that she's obviously not the only person behind it.
07:04 There's the couple as well.
07:07 But I think that it's going to continue and go forward.
07:12 I love the fact that now she's thinking about men's underwear
07:17 as well.
07:18 - Yeah, men's underwear.
07:19 - Yeah, I think it's just going to go on from there.
07:24 I think the fact that she brought out recently
07:28 the collaboration with Swarovski as well.
07:31 It was definitely a collaboration
07:34 I never thought that I needed.
07:35 But when you see all the glitz and glamour,
07:37 I'm like, yeah, sign me up.
07:39 - So it's definitely been a good week for Kim.
07:44 So hopefully, maybe it will be another good week
07:47 for her next week.
07:48 So thanks for joining us today on Good Week, Bad Week.
07:50 And we look forward to seeing you next week.
