00:00 We all know Tracey E. Bregman as Lauren Fenmore from The Young and the Restless, but have
00:04 you ever wondered what she was doing before joining the show? Well, because she has quite
00:08 a dark history that some of you might not know about. So, stick around to find out more
00:13 about it.
00:19 Tracey E. Bregman joined The Young and the Restless as Lauren Fenmore in 1983 and she
00:23 has definitely proven to be one of our favorite stars of the show. The journey for the character
00:28 has been nothing but a wild ride on the show. The actress behind Lauren has taken her character
00:33 from a scheming, selfish, and slightly sociopathic teenager to a terrorized, kidnapping victim,
00:39 a put-upon wife and mother, a successful businesswoman, and finally, a happily married Mrs. Michael
00:44 Baldwin. Before she graced the screens of Genoa City, she had her soap opera moments
00:49 elsewhere, stirring up drama. Back in the day, Bregman was causing trouble on Days of
00:54 Our Lives as Marlena Evans' stepdaughter, Donna Temple Craig. Donna had one major mission
00:59 in life – she wanted her dad all to herself. Sound familiar? It's like a soap opera trope
01:04 right there. And it seems like Bregman had a knack for playing the bratty teen.
01:09 Her journey into the world of soap operas was not the beginning of her acting career.
01:13 In 1981, she made her mark in the feature film Happy Birthday to Me, where she shared
01:17 the screen with Melissa Sue Anderson. In the film, Bregman portrayed in Thomerson, a classmate
01:22 of Melissa Sue's character, who happened to be scheming, selfish, and incredibly sociopathic.
01:28 If you're looking for the rich bitch archetype, And Thomerson fits the bill to a T, and she
01:32 made Melissa Sue's high school life an absolute nightmare.
01:36 The plot of the film is even crazier. What happens is that Melissa Sue's character actually
01:40 invited Tracy, well, her character Anne, to her birthday party in the film, and even more
01:45 shockingly, the bad girl accepted the invitation. Not only did she agree to attend, but she
01:50 also managed to persuade the rest of her popular clique to join in the party.
01:55 But then things get truly intense. The weird deaths start happening. Weird talking throats
01:59 being slit with a razor, gutted by garden shears, crotches crushed by weights, and an
02:04 infamous scene where someone gets skewered by a shish kebab. It's a full-on horror fest,
02:08 and the tension is through the roof. As the death count rises, it's a race to see whether
02:13 Tracy or Melissa Sue's character can claim the title of the last girl standing.
02:17 Happy Birthday to Me has become a cult horror classic over the past 40 years, and fans of
02:22 the genre can't get enough of it. And in all this, Young and Restless' very own Tracy
02:26 Bregman shines, featuring prominently in the film. So, for those who think they've seen
02:31 the worst of Tracy Bregman in her soap opera roles, well, Happy Birthday to Me will prove
02:35 them wrong. Have you watched this masterpiece? Let us know in the comments below.
