00:00 "Would you please just--"
00:02 [Explosion]
00:04 [Laughter]
00:06 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the moments
00:10 even the Friends cast thought a scene couldn't be any funnier.
00:13 And the proof is in the take that aired.
00:15 [Siren]
00:24 Number 10. Throwing water at Joey.
00:28 In this episode, Joey finds himself entangled with a woman who can't tell reality from fiction.
00:33 When he fails to convince her that he's just an actor, his friends jump in and play along,
00:38 casting him as Dr. Drake Remore's evil twin, Hans.
00:41 "I'm not Drake."
00:43 "That's right. He's not Drake. He's Hans Remore, Drake's evil twin."
00:49 [Laughter]
00:52 To really sell their story, Rachel and Monica claim they, too, were deceived by him,
00:56 and playfully drench Joey in water.
00:59 "Because he pretended to be Drake to sleep with me!"
01:03 [Laughter]
01:08 "And then he told me he would run away with me, and he didn't!"
01:13 [Laughter]
01:14 Not wanting to be left out of the action, Chandler shares his grievances, too.
01:19 "And you left the toilet seat up, you bastard!"
01:22 [Laughter]
01:24 We don't know whether that moment was scripted,
01:27 but something about Jennifer Aniston's reaction suggests that perhaps it was a spontaneous bit of improv.
01:33 We definitely wouldn't put it past Matthew Perry.
01:36 Number 9. Gross drain hair.
01:39 When we rejoin the friends for season 3, Monica is still reeling from her breakup with Richard.
01:44 She interrupts Ross, Rachel, and Phoebe's breakfast with a gross discovery from her shower drain.
01:49 "Look what I found in the drain!"
01:51 "What?"
01:54 "It's some of Richard's hair!"
01:56 "What do I do with this?"
01:58 "Getting it away from me would be job one."
02:00 [Laughter]
02:02 As she slowly comes to her senses, she chucks the hairball into her brother's bowl.
02:07 "It's weird, but you know what? I don't want to throw this away."
02:10 "I mean, this is like all I have left of him. Gross... drain hair. Eww!"
02:17 [Laughter]
02:18 Now watch that moment again, but this time keep your eye on Jennifer Aniston.
02:22 Notice her shoulders shaking from laughter?
02:25 Keep watching her in the next shot, and you'll spot her trying to hide her giggles behind her hand.
02:30 Even Lisa Kudrow can't completely suppress her mirth,
02:33 releasing a little chuckle as she shares her comical observations.
02:36 "Oh, it looks like a tiny little person drowning in your cereal."
02:40 [Laughter]
02:41 Number 8. Ross's sound.
02:44 Ross isn't exactly the musical maestro he seems to think he is,
02:48 but we definitely get some good laugh from it.
02:50 "It just came out of my nose, but it was totally worth it."
02:53 [Laughter]
02:55 "Oh my god, I completely forgot about your sound."
02:58 Jennifer Aniston in particular seems to find his musical moments more amusing than inspiring.
03:04 While we'll get to another classic example later,
03:06 we'd first like to draw your attention to Ross's sound from season 4.
03:10 [Sound effects]
03:21 Phoebe's awestruck, inspired, moved.
03:24 Heck, she's even a little envious of his innovative talents.
03:27 "What are you guys talking about? I loved it!"
03:30 [Laughter]
03:31 "It was so moving. Oh, plus, it's just so different from the stuff you usually hear."
03:37 "You mean music?"
03:38 [Laughter]
03:41 But Rachel, well, see for yourselves.
03:43 While Ross debuts his keyboard playing, for lack of a better word, abilities,
03:48 Aniston can be seen stifling her laughter behind her hand.
03:52 Don't quit your day job, Ross.
03:54 "God bless my dad for soundproofing the basement."
03:57 Number 7. A painfully funny massage.
04:00 Early in their relationship, Chandler makes a painful discovery about Monica.
04:04 She gives very forceful massages.
04:07 While he stoically conceals his agony to spare her feelings,
04:11 Phoebe, ever the straight shooter,
04:13 is more concerned with avoiding muscle pain than her emotions.
04:16 "Oh, get off! Ow! Stop it! Why, why are you doing that to me?"
04:22 "What are you talking about? As a masseuse and a human,
04:26 I'm begging you, never do that to anyone."
04:30 In a particularly hilarious moment,
04:32 Monica argues that she's a great masseuse and turns to Chandler to prove her point.
04:36 Only the silent anguish on his face tells a very different story.
04:40 "And Chandler only loves them, watch.
04:44 He does not like it, he hates it, he's in pain."
04:47 "No, he's not."
04:48 "Yes, he is."
04:49 But look closely because the audience isn't the only ones laughing.
04:52 We were so busy focusing on Chandler's tormented expression
04:55 that we didn't notice his castmate openly laughing right behind him.
04:59 But we see you now, Jen.
05:01 "Well, maybe he just didn't want to hurt your feelings."
05:03 "But the minute we start to lie to each other...
05:06 and by 'we,' I mean society."
05:13 Number 6. The foster puppets.
05:16 In a season 3 episode, Monica happily inherits a dollhouse from a late aunt.
05:20 Phoebe's equally excited to play with it,
05:22 but Monica has a very rigid vision for her new toy.
05:25 "They're not the right size, they're not Victorian, and they just don't go."
05:30 "Okay, fine.
05:33 Come, dinosaur, we're not welcome in the house of no imagination."
05:37 So, Phoebe creates her own dollhouse, and it's as wonderfully unique as she is.
05:42 "What's this?"
05:43 "The licorice room. You can eat all the furniture.
05:46 And when guests come over, they can stay on the Tootsie Rollaway bed."
05:52 Sadly, devastation strikes when she forgets to put out a candle in the aroma room,
05:57 setting the whole thing ablaze.
05:59 While inspecting the damage, she mourns the fate of her foster puppets.
06:03 We're sure Monica genuinely feels bad for her friend,
06:05 but Courtney Cox can't help but crack a smile at Phoebe's impassioned reaction
06:09 to the misfortune of the dollhouse's residents.
06:11 "What is this?"
06:12 "No, Phoebe, don't look. You don't want to see what's under there."
06:15 "Oh, the foster puppets!"
06:20 Number 5. A dramatic accident.
06:26 As we'll soon see, the dearly missed Matthew Perry is frequently at the epicenter
06:30 of deliberate and accidental unscripted moments that prompt genuine reactions from his castmates.
06:36 "You got yourself into those cuffs, you get yourself out of them."
06:39 "No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I can't get myself right out of them.
06:43 You must have me confused with the amazing Chandler."
06:45 Take this scene, for example, where Rachel discovers Chandler handcuffed in her boss's office.
06:50 "You got it. Here we go. Come on. This is great.
06:55 Ah!"
06:56 "Does it hurt?"
06:58 "No, I just always see guys doing this when they get handcuffs taken off of them."
07:01 She initially agrees to release him but changes her mind, fearing the consequences.
07:07 Chandler ends up chained to a filing cabinet, fighting for his freedom when…
07:11 "I'm going to say this for the last time. Would you please just…"
07:20 Yeah, apparently that wasn't planned. But props to Perry for staying in character.
07:25 As for Aniston, well, how else do you react when your scene partner gets hit in the head with a filing cabinet?
07:30 But hey, it works.
07:32 Number 4. Chandler confronts Janice.
07:35 This moment was brought to the world's attention by none other than Janice actress herself, Maggie Wheeler.
07:40 Remember that scene where Chandler confronts Janice about kissing her ex and she starts to panic?
07:45 "Maybe it's because I was just fooling around with my ex.
07:48 Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, that was you!"
07:51 "Oh my God!"
07:53 "Alright!"
07:54 "How did you know?"
07:55 Well, according to Wheeler, during rehearsals, Perry would gently squeeze the paper bag,
07:59 allowing the air to escape slowly.
08:01 However, during the taping, perhaps driven by the rush of a live audience,
08:06 he really went for it, causing an unexpected bang.
08:09 "Can you get me a bag or something?"
08:12 "Here, here, here."
08:15 "Here."
08:16 The actress says while she was able to hide her amusement behind the prop,
08:24 Perry's reaction is in plain sight.
08:26 Indeed, if you look closely, you can see the moment he tries not to break.
08:31 "Do you still love me?"
08:33 "Alright, look.
08:36 I'm gonna need an actual answer here, okay?
08:39 So which is it?
08:41 Him or me?"
08:44 Number three, where's the ring?
08:46 After a spat over Chandler's hypothetical wedding,
08:49 Ross picks Joey as his best man.
08:51 "It's a question for science fiction writers!"
08:53 "I can't believe you're not picking me."
08:56 "Hey, how could it not be me?"
08:57 "I'm not even, I don't even..."
08:59 "Alright, you know what? That's it.
09:01 From now on, Joey, I want you to be my best man."
09:04 Post-Bachelor bash, Joey and the stripper dive into their own,
09:07 shall we say, more intimate celebration.
09:09 However, the following morning, she's gone, as is Ross' wedding ring.
09:14 So the guys hatch a plan to confront her.
09:16 Ross comes at her with sheer panic, and it's hilarious.
09:19 "Hey, Joey."
09:21 "Where's my ring? My dead grandmother's wedding ring, where is it? Where is it?"
09:25 You know who else found it particularly comical?
09:27 Matt LeBlanc.
09:28 See how he ducks behind his castmate as he tries to hide his laughter?
09:32 We may not have noticed it the first time we watched this scene,
09:35 maybe because it used to be cut off in old aspect ratios,
09:38 but it's all we can see now.
09:40 "Way to be cool, man."
09:42 Number 2. Ross plays the bagpipes.
09:46 When Monica and Chandler first hear Ross playing the bagpipes,
09:49 Monica angrily asks why Chandler's family has Scottish roots,
09:53 prompting him to fire back.
09:55 "Unbelievable."
09:56 "Why is your family Scottish?"
09:58 "Why is your family Ross?"
10:02 Well, we'd like to believe it's so we could get this classic scene
10:05 and one of the funniest Friends bloopers of all time.
10:08 But you don't have to turn to the outtakes to see at least one of the gang
10:21 struggle to hold it together.
10:23 As the camera pans across Ross' audience, notice Aniston's expression.
10:27 She's barely holding it together, right?
10:30 Now watch her again once Phoebe joins in.
10:32 "You know this song. Sing along."
10:34 [Laughter]
10:36 [Bagpipes playing]
10:45 We definitely wouldn't have been able to stay poker-faced either.
10:49 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:53 Grabbing the lamp.
10:55 This unscripted action left Perry genuinely baffled.
10:58 Well, wouldn't you be?
11:00 "Emily? Emma? Oh my God! Oh my God, it's Emily!
11:03 It's Emily! Everyone, shh, shh, shh!"
11:06 Chandler enjoys his own joke.
11:10 Perry looks pretty pleased with it, too.
11:12 "I'm sorry, we don't have your sheep."
11:15 The Geller Cup.
11:20 Aniston and Kudrow seem to find the moment as funny as their fictional counterparts.
11:24 "Nobody won that game, and he was sick of our fighting,
11:27 so he took the trophy..."
11:30 [Laughter]
11:35 "Threw it in the lake."
11:36 A right farce.
11:37 Between that accent and Jennifer Coolidge's impeccable comedic timing,
11:41 Kudrow's barely holding it together.
11:43 "Oh, gosh, we have so much to catch up on.
11:45 But first things first, touch my abs.
11:48 I don't exercise at all."
11:50 Falling for a prank.
11:51 This isn't just Ross and Ben pulling a prank on Rachel.
11:54 Apparently her reaction is 100% real.
11:57 [Screaming]
12:00 [Laughter]

12:25 Number 1. One final joke.
12:28 The Friends finale was, to quote Rachel,
12:31 "Oh, it's just the perfect way to say goodbye."
12:33 Still, saying goodbye to our favorite friends was as gut-wrenching for us
12:37 as it was for them to say farewell to the Purple apartment.
12:40 But thanks to an ad lib from Matthew Perry,
12:42 our tears of sorrow quickly turned to tears of laughter.
12:45 "Look around you guys.
12:47 This was your first home.
12:50 And it was a happy place,
12:53 filled with love and laughter."
12:56 When Rachel suggests they go get coffee, he asks where.
13:00 In the actor's memoir, he recalls asking co-creator Marta Kaufman
13:03 if he could, quote, "bring the curtain down on Friends,"
13:06 and specifically recalled David Schwimmer's amused reaction.
13:09 "Okay, should we get some coffee?"
13:12 "Sure.
13:14 Where?"
13:16 [Laughter]
13:18 He called it, quote, "the perfect mixture of affection and amusement."
13:21 Exactly what Friends had always given to the world.
13:24 We have to agree, it really is perfect.
