00:00 "That was right."
00:05 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the best takes on Friends
00:10 that never made it into the final product because the cast just couldn't keep a straight
00:14 face.
00:19 Number 30.
00:20 Operation.
00:21 "And I brought Operation, but um, I lost the tweezers so we can't operate."
00:26 Many of us will remember playing the Operation game when we were kids and feeling that shock
00:30 every time we made a mistake and the whole thing vibrated obnoxiously.
00:34 However, the key word there is "playing the game" because in this blooper, there is no
00:39 playing.
00:40 Lisa Kudrow has only just picked up the box and started her dialogue when the contents
00:44 inside make a very familiar noise.
00:47 This not only interrupts her line, but totally cracks her up, and from the sound of it, those
00:51 in the studio audience as well.
00:53 "I brought Operation, but um, I lost the um, it's making a noise."
01:00 Number 29.
01:02 Perfect Arse.
01:03 You'd have to be made of stone to be able to keep a straight face around the wonderfully
01:07 funny Jennifer Coolidge.
01:09 With that said, we don't blame Lisa Kudrow for breaking multiple times when trying to
01:13 film this scene with her, especially given Coolidge's hilarious accent and impeccable
01:17 delivery.
01:18 "I feel like a perfect arse."
01:25 You know how sometimes things get less funny the more you say them?
01:28 Well, this isn't one of those times, as Kudrow just seems to laugh harder with each subsequent
01:33 take.
01:34 We bet she felt like a, "Well, we'll let Coolidge do the honors."
01:37 "I feel like a perfect arse."
01:43 Number 28.
01:44 I think you got it.
01:45 We should caveat this by saying you definitely shouldn't do this to your co-workers.
01:50 This scene has a written joke where Joey pats down Monica's chest for too long,
01:54 under the guise of her chef's uniform being on fire.
01:56 "What are you doing?"
01:57 "You stole a tiny bit on fire there."
01:58 "Oh, good job, thanks.
01:59 I think you got it."
02:03 Courtney Cox calls for a redo, and while LeBlanc's response is very funny,
02:08 the reason this blooper made the list is Matthew Perry.
02:11 He isn't in the scene at all, but that didn't stop him from jumping in on the chest-patting
02:15 action to elicit a smile from Cox, and a big laugh from everyone else.
02:19 "You stole a tiny bit on fire there."
02:21 "Oh, geez.
02:22 Okay, thanks.
02:23 Okay."
02:24 Number 27.
02:30 Wrong Name
02:31 As Ross taught us at his wedding, saying the right name isn't always easy.
02:35 However, sometimes it isn't scripted that way.
02:38 When Jennifer Aniston said the wrong character name in this scene,
02:41 it would have been very easy to just reset, go again, and move on.
02:44 Well, it would have been very easy if you were anyone but Matthew Perry.
02:48 "I'm sorry.
02:49 Okay, can we watch Chandler's show now?"
02:52 As the funniest guy on set and the resident class clown,
02:56 he was never one to let something like this slide,
02:58 especially if he could get a few laughs out of it.
03:00 And we'd say he got more than just a few here.
03:03 "Because sometimes, Ross."
03:07 Number 26.
03:09 Grand Canyon
03:10 Self-fulfilling prophecy or psychic-ness?
03:12 We'll let you be the judge.
03:14 In this scene, Monica was supposed to tell Ross that,
03:16 when they were kids, he slept through a trip to the Grand Canyon.
03:20 Once Courtney Cox messes up her first take, though,
03:22 she's sure the line will be cursed from here on out.
03:25 "I will, this will be five, ten takes."
03:28 And wouldn't you know it, that's exactly what happens.
03:31 We have no idea how many tries it actually took,
03:34 but something tells us she was right on with her estimate
03:36 if the few outtakes are anything to go by.
03:38 "When you were little, you slept through the Grand Canyon."
03:42 Number 25.
03:43 Chandler's sex face.
03:45 In the version of this scene that made it to air,
03:48 Phoebe starts laughing after seeing Chandler making
03:50 what Monica refers to as his sex face.
03:53 However, the problem with the multiple takes prior to it
03:55 is that Kudrow wasn't the only one laughing.
03:58 Perry and David Schwimmer were having some major issues
04:01 making it through the scene without cracking up.
04:03 "Oh God, Chandler's making his sex face."
04:13 Chandler is having such a hard time that he, at one point,
04:16 asks Perry not to make any face for a moment
04:18 so he can regain his composure.
04:20 It does not work.
04:21 "Just for now, don't make any faces."
04:25 Number 24.
04:26 Joey carrying coffee.
04:28 When Joey gets a hernia in season six,
04:30 he has to delay a visit to the doctor
04:32 because his health insurance is lapsed.
04:34 The tremendous amount of pain he's in makes even little things,
04:38 like carrying cups of coffee, immensely difficult
04:40 and immensely funny.
04:41 "Will you grab me a cruller?"
04:43 "Sit down!"
04:46 Malibuan sells it beautifully,
04:48 and Matthew Perry can barely hold it together
04:50 as a hunched-over Joey moans and groans his way
04:53 from counter to couch.
04:55 Even LeBlanc has trouble taking himself seriously at some points.
04:58 We're honestly impressed these two ever made it through
05:00 any scene together, let alone this one.
05:05 "Oh, come on."
05:10 Number 23.
05:11 Bamboozled!
05:12 First off, if anyone can explain the rules of bamboozled to us,
05:16 we'd really appreciate it.
05:17 Okay, now on to the blooper.
05:19 This one took place during the scene where Joey enlists
05:22 Chandler and Ross to help him practice for an audition
05:24 to host the aforementioned bamboozled.
05:26 The moment in question focuses on the contestant introductions,
05:30 and Matthew Perry's having a hard time getting through
05:32 the description of his fake job.
05:33 "I hook up out-of-work Soviet scientists with rogue Soviet nations."
05:39 The miss after miss is funny for sure,
05:41 but the perfect cherry on top is, after a lot of frustration,
05:45 Perry finally gets it right.
05:47 Only for LeBlanc to jump in with his line too early,
05:49 sending Perry literally to his knees.
05:52 "Well, Joey, I'm a headhunter.
05:53 I hook up out-of-work Soviet scientists with rogue third world nations."
05:57 "Excellent."
05:58 "Oh, s***."
06:01 Number 22.
06:02 The dog or the mime.
06:04 We love Chandler, but one aspect of his character
06:06 we can never get behind is his hatred of dogs.
06:10 Even his friends don't understand it when he makes the shocking revelation
06:13 in season seven.
06:14 He gives a, frankly, silly ultimatum that he probably
06:17 should have expected the outcome of.
06:19 "Okay, so either the dog goes or I go.
06:24 Huh."
06:25 "Oh my God!"
06:30 In one outtake, Matt LeBlanc took things to hysterical heights
06:33 with a mimed gag that just kept going.
06:36 This led to a different ultimatum courtesy of Perry,
06:38 where once again, we bet the dog comes out on top.
06:43 "Either the dog goes or the mime goes."
06:49 Number 21.
06:50 Emma.
06:51 Babies and young children are often played by sets of twins,
06:54 so they can swap if one needs a break or is being uncooperative.
06:58 With that said, babies are babies, and they're going to make noise,
07:02 as can be seen in the blooper reels of Friends' last three seasons.
07:05 We can't know for sure exactly which twin is responsible for the blunder,
07:09 but it's all so adorable it doesn't even matter.
07:11 "Do you remember my old boyfriend Mark?"
07:14 "Yeah, it's his dad."
07:17 "Huh.
07:18 I didn't know that."
07:20 In a few different outtakes, baby Emma interrupts with laughing or cooing,
07:24 and each time the whole scene falls apart.
07:27 These are by far the cutest Friends bloopers.
07:29 "Just tell Joey that..."
07:33 "I know she's cute, but I really could use some advice."
07:38 Number 20.
07:39 Joey and Chandler come out... of the en suite.
07:42 While a lot of great bloopers come when the cast of a show lose their cool
07:46 during filming and end up laughing or forgetting their lines,
07:49 others are amazing because we get to see some of the behind-the-scenes
07:52 pranks that the actors like to play.
08:03 In this instance, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc made the audience howl with laughter
08:07 when Ross wished Monica out of a London hotel room,
08:10 and the two emerged from the room's en suite with their pants around their ankles.
08:14 "Why, what's the matter?"
08:20 Number 19.
08:21 Ben speaks.
08:23 One of the plotlines of the season 2 episode "The One Where Old Yeller Dies"
08:26 revolves around the fact that Ross feels he's missing out on some of the most
08:30 important moments in Ben's life because he's not around full-time.
08:33 "It's Ben and his dada.
08:36 Dada.
08:37 See, you know, you might as well say it because I told you..."
08:46 In one scene, he's at Central Perk trying to coax Ben into saying dada.
08:50 The child actor is obviously supposed to stay mum and not actually utter the word in this
08:54 scene, but he's clearly too obedient and says it anyway,
08:58 making the audience break out in awes.
09:04 Number 18.
09:05 Going to town.
09:07 In one of the most devastating episodes for Friends fans,
09:10 we learn that Monica and Chandler had secretly been house hunting in the suburb of Westchester
09:14 and planned to leave their Manhattan apartment.
09:21 When their friends find out, they're understandably rattled.
09:24 And considering this episode takes place partway through the final season,
09:28 we can imagine that the cast would be getting pretty wistful.
09:34 But David Schwimmer didn't miss an opportunity to make a joke about watching Chandler going
09:45 to town on himself through the window.
09:48 Number 17.
09:50 Don't do it.
09:51 In this season 7 episode, it's revealed that Chandler doesn't like dogs.
09:55 As hard as this is to wrap our heads around, it's a reality for him.
09:59 But Joey understands exactly how it's going to look to the rest of the group.
10:08 He yells out "Don't do it" to Chandler when he's about to tell the others about his loathing
10:12 of canines.
10:13 But Mal LeBlanc finds it so hilarious that he can't keep it together.
10:17 He covers his face and laughs, then delivers an exaggerated impersonation of himself and
10:22 the line.
10:26 Number 16.
10:28 What the hell happened on that beach?
10:30 In one of the most memorable storylines in Friends history, Monica, Chandler and Joey
10:34 are enjoying a walk on the beach when Monica is stung by a jellyfish.
10:42 The three of them have to figure out how to alleviate her pain, but the embarrassing situation
10:46 is something they want to keep private.
10:52 Back at Central Perk, Ross asks Joey and Chandler what exactly happened at the beach.
10:57 But all three of them have a hard time keeping straight faces.
11:00 Through multiple takes, someone always cracks up, making shooting this scene seem impossible.
11:14 Number 15.
11:16 Ross won't let her blow.
11:18 In the second season, the three girls discover a self-help book called Be Your Own Windkeeper,
11:23 which encourages them to practice self-empowerment, especially when it comes to the men in their
11:27 lives.
11:35 Rachel in particular embraces the book, and uses the lessons from it to assert herself
11:39 in her relationship with Ross.
11:41 She has to deliver the hilarious line, but can't take herself seriously and keeps breaking
11:46 character and openly laughing.
11:52 David Schwimmer as Ross certainly isn't making it any easier for her.
11:57 Number 14.
11:58 Nurse Phoebe There's something so great about how meta
12:01 these bloopers are.
12:03 In season 9, Phoebe needs some money so Joey helps her get a gig as an extra on his soap
12:07 opera Days of Our Lives.
12:14 She's supposed to play a nurse, but she keeps messing up the scene over and over again in
12:18 a variety of different ways.
12:27 It seems like actress Lisa Kudrow has a lot in common with the character she plays, because
12:31 she repeatedly laughs in the scene within a scene while Joey is trying to give her a
12:36 pep talk.
12:44 Number 13.
12:46 Table Tennis When the gang heads to Barbados for Ross'
12:49 conference, it seems like hilarity ensues around every corner.
12:54 Monica's hair reacts poorly with the humidity on the Caribbean island, which makes every
12:58 scene she's in even funnier.
13:03 Her competitive nature takes over when she challenges Mike to table tennis, but clearly
13:07 shooting this scene was even harder than the game itself.
13:15 With physical comedy like this, there's so much that can go wrong, including Courtney
13:19 Cox inadvertently flipping her paddle across the room and trying to explain the accident
13:24 in a completely incoherent way.
13:34 Number 12.
13:35 Rock, Paper, Scissors In the one with the late Thanksgiving, Rachel,
13:40 Phoebe, Ross, and Joey are all late for Monica and Chandler's Thanksgiving dinner and are
13:44 terrified of the consequences.
13:47 They can't decide who's going to walk in the door first, so Rachel suggests a game
13:51 of rock, paper, scissors.
13:52 But Joey of course plays by different rules than everyone else.
14:02 When he tries to use fire, David Schwimmer cracks a foul-mouthed joke about it.
14:07 Not one to let someone else have the last laugh, Matt LeBlanc retaliates in the next
14:11 take, making this all the funnier.
14:22 Number 11.
14:23 Ben remembering everyone else's lines Ross' son Ben appeared a lot as a baby and
14:29 then largely disappeared for stretches of many episodes.
14:40 In season 7, Cole Sprouse was in the role and clearly did his homework before actually
14:44 showing up on set.
14:51 In a couple of clips from the episodes "The One with the Truth About London" and "The
14:55 One with the Holiday Armadillo", we see Sprouse schooling Jennifer Aniston and David
14:59 Schwimmer by remembering their lines even when they've forgotten them.
15:07 Number 10.
15:08 Joey and Ross nap.
15:16 After sitting down to yet another screening of Joey's favorite movie "Die Hard",
15:20 Joey and Ross accidentally fall asleep and end up cuddling.
15:24 Joey considers it the best nap he's ever had and keeps trying to convince or even trick
15:29 Ross into napping with him again.
15:31 Silly premise?
15:32 Yes, but watching it unfold still gets us giggling.
15:45 Turns out that was the case for Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer too, because the actors
15:49 could barely get through this season 7 scene without breaking, no matter how many times
15:54 they shot it.
15:55 It even came back later in the episode and again resulted in gales of laughter.
16:13 Number 9.
16:14 A little double take.
16:19 By the time "Friends" had reached its 10th season, the cast had grown very close,
16:24 which means that on occasion they'd poke fun at each other's on-set slip-ups.
16:38 As you can expect, two of the biggest players in this game were Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc.
16:44 In a season 10 episode where the gang is trapped at Emma's first birthday party because she
16:48 won't wake up from her nap, Courtney Cox accidentally looks straight into the camera
16:53 lens.
17:01 Obviously the boys jump at the opportunity to mock her.
17:12 What follows are a couple of ruined takes, and of course, some memorable bloopers.
17:20 Number 8.
17:21 That was less.
17:30 The episode where Ross and Rachel break up is pretty somber.
17:34 To make sure things aren't too dark, the other friends keep the comedy flowing.
17:44 Monica and Phoebe are attempting to wax their legs, and it's more painful than they anticipated.
17:49 Their screams attract Chandler and Joey, who race into Monica's bedroom in an over-the-top
17:54 fashion.
17:55 An outtake of this scene sees the boys asked to try it again, as they've apparently been
17:59 told their acting is too big.
18:09 Perry and LeBlanc poke fun at this piece of direction, entering the room as sedately as
18:13 possible on the next take.
18:15 In this case, we're fine with the boys sabotaging yet another take for a great blooper.
18:29 Number 7.
18:31 It tastes like feet.
18:38 It's Thanksgiving, and Rachel's been put in charge of dessert.
18:50 Unfortunately due to some sticky magazine pages, she mistakenly messes up the recipe.
19:05 Since Ross and Joey want to spare Rachel's feelings and are dying to leave to hang out
19:09 with some hot models, they decide not to tell her.
19:12 But that means eating the meat pie/custardy dessert with a straight face.
19:19 After Ross scarfs his entire piece, which is tough enough in itself, David Schwimmer
19:23 delivers his next line in such a way that he erupts in laughter.
19:34 Matt LeBlanc doesn't even notice his costar is broken and continues eating his pie, but
19:39 ultimately he's unable to fight off the giggles.
19:54 Number 6.
19:56 Rachel and the monkey
20:02 Apparently in the show's run, Ross gets a capuchin monkey as a pet and names it Marcel,
20:07 much to the cast's dismay.
20:09 They say never work with children or animals, and here's why.
20:13 Apparently the monkey, who was actually named Katie, sometimes had trouble following instructions
20:18 and disrupted takes.
20:27 In a Marcel-centric season 1 episode, Rachel's babysitting Marcel and trying to explain
20:32 a soap opera to him.
20:40 But as you can see in the blooper, Jennifer Aniston has a difficult time predicting what
20:44 Katie's going to do.
20:46 This makes for a hilarious and quite frankly adorable outtake that neither we, nor Jennifer,
20:51 will likely ever forget.
21:01 Number 5.
21:03 Phoebe Laughs
21:10 Nothing sends the Friends cast into fits of glee quite like Lisa Kudrow's infectious
21:15 laugh.
21:18 In a season 6 episode, after Phoebe and Rachel's apartment burns down, the girls are arguing
21:23 over who has to live with Monica and her strict house rules and who gets to have fun at Joey's.
21:28 But once Kudrow starts laughing, for no apparent reason, it's hard for her to stop.
21:33 And even harder for the rest of the cast and crew to get back on track.
21:46 This begs the question, which is funnier?
21:49 The final version of the scene or the blooper filled with endless laughter?
21:52 We'll let you decide.
22:16 Number 4.
22:17 What do I smell?
22:18 "Ew, what do I smell?"
22:19 "I don't know, but it smells good."
22:22 Another staple of the Friends blooper library is cast members deliberately ruining takes
22:26 by inserting new, and often bluer, jokes.
22:30 In a season 4 episode where Monica's trying to lure the group over to her new apartment
22:34 by baking cookies, Matt LeBlanc decides to add an unexpected line.
22:38 "What do I smell?"
22:41 "Sorry."
22:43 Well, this one word derails the entire scene for takes to come.
22:48 The cast continually cracks up and cannot make it through their lines.
22:52 After watching this series of hilarious bloopers, we wonder how they ended up recording the
22:56 final version at all.
22:58 "What do I smell?"
23:01 "LeBlanc."
23:02 Number 3.
23:03 Joey's fall.
23:04 "There's something I never told you, Amber.
23:05 I'm actually your half-brother."
23:06 "What?"
23:07 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:08 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:09 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:10 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:11 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:12 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:13 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:14 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:15 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:16 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:17 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:18 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:19 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:20 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:21 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:22 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:23 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:24 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:25 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:26 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:27 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:28 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:29 "I'm not your half-brother."
23:30 "Oh, soap opera digest!
23:54 Oh, soap opera digest!"
24:17 2. Pivot
24:31 This classic friend scene finds Ross, Chandler, and Rachel moving a large couch through a
24:35 small staircase. Ross, who's adamant about getting his new couch up to his apartment
24:40 without hiring a moving crew, starts to yell "pivot" over and over again to direct
24:45 his friends, much to our amusement.
25:02 The finished product is funny enough, but the outtakes of this scene are guaranteed
25:06 hilarity. Honestly, we totally understand how difficult it must have been for the cast
25:11 to get through this moment. It's arguably one of the most iconic and funniest scenes
25:15 in the entire series. And the bloopers are all the funnier.

25:52 1. Ross Plays the Bagpipes
26:02 It's season seven and Ross is planning a special surprise for Monica and Chandler's
26:06 wedding. He wants to play the bagpipes. Well, when Ross finally debuts his newfound… talent,
26:12 the group cannot hold back. Though some of the laughing is left in the final edit of
26:26 the scene, the blooper reel of this moment is even more riotous. Especially once Phoebe
26:32 starts to sing along with Ross' bagpipes. Jennifer Aniston's the first to go, but
26:46 pretty soon everyone's lost it. This scene has everything we're looking for in a friend's
26:50 blooper. It's funny, it's ridiculous, and it reminds us of how much fun this cast
26:55 must have had on set.
27:19 Which of these friend's bloopers gets you rolling on the floor every single time? Let
27:23 us know in the comments. Do you agree with our picks? Check out this other recent clip
