00:00 All right folks good morning and welcome to our
00:03 Official ride today at the official US press introduction of BMW Motorrad's
00:11 2024
00:14 R18 Rocktane Cruiser
00:16 This is the vehicle we are seated upon right now. This bike is the fifth iteration of BMW Motorrad's
00:25 Semi recently now you can say it recently recently introduced heavyweight twin cylinder cruiser
00:32 So this bike came out I believe for the 2021 model year originally with the r18
00:38 Then the r18 classic which rolls on 16-inch wheels and has soft luggage with the windshield. I really like that bike
00:45 Then you have the r18 bagger and then the r18 transcontinental and now we have this fifth r18
00:55 Rocktane
00:56 This is basically
00:58 BMW Motorrad's take on
01:00 The bar and shield brands
01:04 road king
01:06 That is basically the take on this. So this vehicle is equipped
01:11 with a 21 inch front 18 inch rear wheels
01:17 So much larger oversized wheels on this motorcycle. I
01:22 think the the
01:25 R18 rolls on I
01:28 Believe it was a 1916 I think
01:31 So this one has a lot larger wheels in the 21
01:36 18 and it really gives it a much more commanding
01:40 Stance now not only a more commanding stance, but it feels like a lot larger
01:46 Motorcycle dimensionally when you're sitting up seated on it
01:49 It feels longer it feels taller
01:54 And it just overall feels more beefy
01:58 Now there's a couple other important changes that Motorrad has done to this r18
02:05 Rocktane for the 2024 model year
02:08 Of course, we have these
02:11 8 style handlebars are not really 8 full 8 handlebars or they're nice
02:17 Mid mid length and not too tall not too short
02:21 we also have the
02:23 Instrument panel which is neatly integrated into the headlight
02:28 Before the instrument panel was right here on the fuel tank and a conventional
02:34 Twin cylinder cruiser configuration and of course we have this
02:41 black chrome
02:43 styling so instead of
02:45 Chrome this bike still has a shiny surface, but it's painted black black chrome
02:52 So I like it's a lot more subdued a lot more stealth
02:55 Fighter style, which I always like now the heart of this
03:00 r18 Rocktane is
03:03 BMW's
03:05 1802 CC
03:07 flat
03:08 Two-cylinder engine they call the boxer twin. So they call it that because
03:15 Unlike a conventional v-twin where the cylinders are canted at a V and run front back
03:21 This engine has two cylinders that are canted horizontally and go like this BAMBA BAMBA BAMBA BAMBA BAM
03:27 and that is a
03:30 Configuration BMW Motorrad has been using for a hundred and one years if you can even believe it
03:37 That power plant first debuted on its 1923
03:42 BMW r5. I'm sorry r23 motorcycle. I think is the nomenclature on that
03:48 we'll show you some video of that motorcycle, but it's really crazy to look at the
03:54 power unit of that bike from
03:57 1923
04:00 Obviously the engines way smaller at 500 CC
04:03 But just the aesthetics of the engine is crazy that BMW had an attention to detail and styling
04:10 On its engines even a hundred years ago. It's crazy because there are
04:16 modern motorcycle manufacturers today that haven't figured that that
04:21 That thing out and BMW Motorrad was doing it a hundred years ago pretty neat. I think
04:28 so 1802 CC
04:32 Engine air oil cooled. It's not water-cooled
04:39 It puts power back via a hydraulic clutch and a six-speed gearbox
04:46 Via shaft final drive to the 18-inch rear wheel and the shaft final drive on this bike. It's beautiful
04:53 It literally uses a shaft final drive
04:56 Just like your rear wheel drive car truck with an actual drive shaft
05:01 But the drive shaft is machined and it's it's presented in a very elegant way. It's very tasteful
05:08 Obviously, you can't see it spinning when you're riding the bike, but at a stop you can look at that shaft
05:14 It just looks awesome. It's a really nice functional
05:18 Styling touch. So good job BMW Motorrad sneak to see you're paying attention to the detail shaft drives awesome
05:26 because it's basically
05:28 Low maintenance, there's no chain mess to clean up from the wheel and there's no belts to snap
05:36 it's a nice solid mechanical system and
05:39 it's maintenance-free not totally maintenance-free, but relatively devoid of maintenance and
05:46 the chances of it not working are few and far between
05:50 Now we're here at the official US press introduction for this model in typical form
05:59 These rides are lead follow rides. It's basically like a demo ride
06:04 So we aren't we aren't able to just do what we want and do our usual battery of high-end
06:11 Testing procedures that we do here at Motorcyclist magazine. This is lead follow type riding
06:17 So that's just the way it is. We are guests of
06:20 BMW Motorrad USA, so we have to play by their rules
06:24 So this engine if you can even believe it this engine puts out a whopping
06:32 Amount of torque a whopping amount of torque it puts over a hundred pound feet of torque
06:39 at the 18 inch rear wheel
06:42 This doesn't look very safe
06:44 Move over here
06:47 so over a hundred pound feet of torque from the
06:51 At the business end of the 18 inch rear wheel and a hundred pound feet of torque is a really great
06:57 Is a really great stat because there's only there's only a few motorcycles
07:03 production motorcycles made today that pump out over a hundred pound feet torque at the rear wheel and
07:10 This bikes one of them. The other two are
07:12 Honda's flat six powered Goldwing and
07:16 BMW's inline six powered K
07:20 1600
07:22 Luxury touring rig both of those bikes make over a hundred pound feet of torque and so does this one?
07:28 this bike makes
07:31 Almost a hundred pound feet of torque from just off idle. It's crazy how much torque this bike has
07:37 Horsepower wise it has right around 81 ponies at the back tire
07:43 All right folks we're just waiting here I think they're trying to set up a
07:50 Photography pass in this little nice Canyon, so we'll see what happens
07:55 Until then we're just gonna idle on this bike idling on this bike isn't so bad. I really like the power pulses of the engine
08:04 Let's show you the starting sequence. So you hit the power button
08:08 That is basically like the ignition switch hit the power button
08:12 then the dashboard lights up and then you hit the starter button right here and
08:18 When you hit the starter button
08:20 The engine rocks to life because of its flat
08:24 Configuration it has it has a a twist feel when you twist the throttle it pulses to the left
08:32 It's kind of cool
08:34 It might be kind of weird at first, but once you get used to it's pretty neat and it's just another
08:39 Signature character of this engine and just gives riders something different
08:46 The sound of this engine the sound is so good. Listen to the thing. It sounds so good
08:51 I love the sound of this engine. It sounds so awesome
08:56 It's got a pleasing exhaust note, but it's not too loud. It's not too soft
09:02 It's not gonna attract attention unwanted attention from law enforcement or your neighbors. It's just a really clean sound
09:12 It almost to me it sounds like it just makes me feel like I'm riding a bike from the old days
09:19 I'd be a BMW motor at boxer twin bike from the old days
09:22 so
09:24 That is the deal
09:26 All right, folks. We are going to do our photo pass here. I think right now
09:32 so
09:34 This is our official photo pass. So we'll see how that goes. I just turned on my Instagram real camera
09:41 So we can get some nice vertical video footage for all of our tasty content that we publish on the interwebs
09:48 And here we go
09:51 Now the ergonomics on this bike the ergonomics are pretty dang
09:57 comfy
10:00 Okay, sounds good
10:02 Okay
10:06 That's Allie over there she instructed for me to wait till this vehicle leaves and then I can go so now I'm gonna go
10:12 Here I go so ergonomics on this bike
10:17 the mini 8 style handlebar has
10:22 Quite a bit of rearward sweep, but it's not too high. It's not too low
10:26 You have a real commanding stance of the vehicle
10:29 The the seat height is of course low on this bike being a cruiser
10:34 But it is a lot higher feeling than some of the other r18 variants that we've operated
10:41 It almost feels like you're sitting seated on a perch
10:44 above the bike
10:47 So not exactly my favorite
10:49 But for around town riding it is absolutely fine, but it does have a little bit of a tall
10:55 perched ish type feel
10:58 Now this vehicle has mid controls
11:02 Obviously you can't have forward controls because of the cylinders that are poking out on either side of the vehicle. I
11:09 Remember for a while BMW Motorrad was like, yeah, we're gonna engineer
11:15 Foot mounts where you can put your feet atop these cylinders
11:19 I don't know if that ever passed through legal or that's happening, but that's what they are talking about before
11:26 But this vehicle has mid control
11:28 So make controls to operate the rear the foot mounted rear brake on the right side and the gear shift lever on the left
11:35 Now that's kind of one of the biggest gripes we have with this r18 platform if you have
11:45 Bigger size feet you're gonna have a hard time getting your feet in here underneath the cylinders. We wear size 9 us
11:53 Shoes so for us, it's not that big of a deal, but you got to remember the majority of
11:58 American riders who who purchase these bikes?
12:01 These are big humans with big feet size 10 11 12 13 14
12:07 You know the deal and they're gonna have a hard time putting their feet
12:10 underneath this
12:12 Boxer twin engine just because there's not a lot of space
12:15 So something to keep in mind if you're a bigger rider if you're a bigger rider with big feet
12:21 you're not gonna be very compatible with this bike, but if you're a
12:24 Average size human with average size feet you are gonna be absolutely fine
12:29 Now the cool thing about those the boxer twin cylinder sticking out like that is when you're riding in
12:38 Chillier weather like we are now. I think the air temperature is probably about 60 62
12:43 you are
12:46 You have these cylinders blocking the air and keeping your tootsies warm, which is pretty neat
12:51 conversely if you are riding on a
12:55 In hot weather and in on a hot sunny day idling in traffic. Oh boy
13:03 You're not gonna get a lot of airflow to cool down your feet. It's gonna be kind of a big deal
13:07 Wow, it's roads really pretty folks. This would be a cool road to live off of I'd say
13:15 So that's kind of the deal with the cylinders poking out like that
13:20 Of course, this engine is air oil cooled
13:23 so the engine has to be the vehicle has to be moving for the
13:28 Air to cool the engine look at that awesome
13:32 Machining on either side of the cylinders thing looks awesome. It looks like a airplane engine almost
13:40 We got to remember BMW Motorrad
13:42 Obviously, they exited the aviation industry many many many many decades ago, but that's where their history lies in aviation
13:51 So it's kind of cool that they still kind of throw aviation touches here and there I think at least
13:59 All right folks right now we're cruising in fifth gear
14:10 Let's get on the fourth gear fourth gear is a little bit more appropriate for this vehicle speed 40 miles per hour
14:15 This engine has some inherent vibration
14:19 But it fits the whole cruiser
14:23 Deal, so basically any twin-cylinder cruiser has a good amount of a vibration. It just adds to the riding experience
14:32 and and this engine has
14:36 Considerable vibration that you feel through the handlebar and foot pegs
14:40 I wouldn't say it's off-putting because again, it kind of fits that whole v-twin vibe, but it definitely is
14:47 Pretty dang good
14:51 Let's give her some gas. Oh, yeah feels awesome
15:02 That feels so good just to give her some gas get some miles underneath us look at this beautiful road
15:08 This is sick
15:11 What a beautiful nice road to be cruising on
15:18 Now in terms of suspension this bike has
15:26 1.7 inches of travel up front and
15:29 Three and a half inches of travel in the back. It has the more limited rear suspension
15:36 Travel as the r18 and r18 classic have the big touring bikes
15:42 They have a different rear suspension setup setup, which allows for more travel
15:47 Obviously more travel is always a good thing. It would certainly be nice if
15:53 This bike had more travel at the rear
15:56 But these roads were operating this bike here in Alabama. These roads are in really good condition
16:02 These are relatively smooth roads and they're very conducive to riding a motorcycle
16:07 So to be fair this bike is gliding over the pavement very effortlessly and very nicely
16:14 But again, these roads here are very smooth much more smooth and well
16:22 Well prepared than the roads in the American Southwest. That is for sure
16:27 Now this particular r18 rock chain has cruise control it also has heated grips
16:40 Cruise control is standard. I believe the heated grips are an accessory this particular bike doesn't have mechanical reverse
16:50 So BMW if you can even believe it unlike other heavyweight cruisers
16:55 They actually they actually offer a mechanical reverse
16:58 There's a lever here on the left side of the bike you flip the lever get it into position
17:03 And then you can back up the bike with these buttons on the handlebar. That's about a $1,000 option
17:09 So this bike doesn't have it. We've used it before on BMW motor ads other bikes and it works really good
17:19 It just makes for a really nice riding experience. You got to remember these bikes weigh
17:25 over 800 pounds
17:28 These bikes are not light by any means so typically when you're parking
17:34 Somewhere in a tight spot or you're at maybe a bike rally or something to that effect
17:39 You're gonna want it be able to have mechanical reverse to back up the bike
17:44 Look at those cyclists right there
17:49 So that just makes for an easier riding experience
17:55 Speaking of weight this motorcycle
17:58 This thing is heavy. No doubt. It weighs over 800 pounds with its
18:05 4.2 gallon fuel tank filled to the brim
18:09 Now you certainly feel the weight picking the bike up off its side stand but in motion
18:17 You'd be amazed at how
18:19 Nimble this bike is this bike is so nimble and so apt for direction change
18:26 It's crazy how an 800 some pound cruiser right on 21 18 inch wheels
18:33 Can be this maneuverable it is absolutely unbelievable
18:36 But picking it up off the side stand is definitely a chore you would not want to tip this bike over
18:45 It is very heavy
18:47 That's it. If you did pick tip this bike over having this boxer twin engine
18:53 Basically is like having a chick stand on either side of the bike where the bikes not gonna be laying over that far
18:59 If you had to pick it up
19:01 All right, folks
19:02 The group has been gathered back up and now we will depart again to our destination of Barber motor sports park
19:13 Aboard the r18 rock tame
19:15 Now this vehicle has ride by wire throttle
19:20 So there's not an actual cable that connects the throttle and the engine throttle bodies
19:27 It's done electronically
19:29 via sensors and servo motors
19:32 so
19:35 So ride by wire throttle allows this bike to have adjustable throttle response so you can adjust
19:43 The combined engine and throttle response settings via this mode button here on the left handlebar
19:50 we have rock
19:52 which is designated by the rock on the
19:55 Instrument panel and that allows for the most aggressive
20:00 Throttle response, so if you want a
20:05 snappy
20:07 extra responsive throttle response rock is the one
20:10 Realistically, it's not
20:13 It's a cruiser. So it's not gonna be that snappy, but it is more snappy than
20:18 Roll, I'm sorry roll roll is like a touring setting where the throttle is
20:26 It's not crazy responsive, but it's not crazy sluggish either. It's just a general
20:33 touring like setting
20:35 then of course we have the
20:39 Rain setting rain is for riding in
20:41 Inclement weather when the weather is not too good and the adhesion
20:46 Levels from the tires and asphalt are a little bit lower
20:49 It also just makes the power band a little bit more mellow
20:52 There's not a huge difference between the rock and roll settings
20:57 But you can feel that the engine is a little bit more
21:01 Lazy feeling in the rain setting. Let's continue to ride in a rock. Yeah
21:08 Whoo, I love the sound of this engine it sounds so good
21:14 Yeah, it's got so much torque
21:16 What a hoot it is to ride
21:19 This thing just sounds so awesome
21:25 Now these are 18s if you can even believe it. These bikes are
21:30 manufactured in Germany
21:34 BMW proudly touts that these motorcycles are built in Berlin Germany with the logos
21:41 Here inside the instrument pod and a top this clutch slave
21:47 cylinder
21:49 So it proudly touts that these bikes are German built and that's really one area
21:55 Where BMW Motorrad really stands apart from the rest of the twin-cylinder
22:02 Cruiser community these bikes are built so exquisitely the
22:08 Fit and finish and attention to detail on these motorcycles is is second to none
22:15 of course
22:17 Harley-davidson motorcycles are have been generally been well built for many decades at this point and their new CBO
22:25 road-glide
22:27 When street guide ups the ante in the fit and finish quality department
22:31 But still those bikes cost upwards of 40 grand this bike costs
22:37 $21,000 as it sits right now and the build quality on these bikes is second to none
22:44 No one builds motorcycles in
22:48 With is no one builds cruiser motorcycles with this level of detail and fit finish
22:55 That BMW Motorrad these bikes are literally their jewelry on wheels
23:00 We're riding a Rolex watch that is how well put together these
23:05 R18 cruisers are
23:07 Obviously the aesthetic of the motorcycle which we'll show you in a little bit
23:12 You said aesthetic is just really clean lines
23:16 No, goofy wires or hoses hanging out anywhere even the the use of these torques
23:23 Fasteners like everything is
23:25 Premium and and and well put together. This is not some
23:30 motorcycle with Home Depot
23:32 Fasteners this thing is a really well put together
23:36 Good job BMW Motorrad
23:41 We like that you're paying attention to the details and offering us
23:45 US cruiser riders something that is very well built for our hard in earn cash
23:52 Now it's worth noting that this bike retails for
23:55 $21,000 it's pretty amazing that BMW is all able to offer a
24:01 powerful heavyweight cruiser with this much design detail and
24:06 Lofty fit finish that's made in Germany for
24:11 $21,000 that's crazy to me
24:13 For reference this motorcycle is about two thousand dollars less expensive than the bar shield brands
24:22 road king
24:23 So kind of interesting
24:25 That not only was this motorcycle more well put together than its American counterpart. It's also less expensive
24:33 All right, folks we are cruising here at the on the freeway at 82 miles per hour
24:42 Let's enable the cruise control cruise control is on
24:45 Just like a modern automobile cruise control is very responsive
24:51 Of course, it doesn't have any adaptive function. There's no radar
24:55 Inside the front of the motorcycle so it doesn't have adaptive option. It's just
25:00 Traditional electronic cruise control, but that's totally fine with us
25:06 Now of course this motorcycle doesn't have a windshield
25:11 So it's not going to be quite up for touring like an r18 transcontinental or bagger
25:20 But for a cruiser around town, it's totally fine again the ergonomics on this motorcycle. I like this handlebar
25:27 It's not too high not too low
25:28 It's it's got a decently aggressive bend but not overly such but the seats just the seats kind of odd to me
25:35 It really just feels like you're perched a top like a stool
25:38 It just it's not it's fine for around town
25:42 But this this seating setup is not my favorite now another key feature that this r18
25:47 Roctane has as it has those hard fixed saddle bags
25:52 So the r18 classic has bags too, but they're soft bags. This is
25:57 The r18 roctane has color matched
26:00 Painted and color matched hard cases
26:04 That of course that are lockable each case swallows
26:08 seven gallons of cargo on each side
26:11 LEDs are neatly integrated into
26:15 The rear of the bike we're going to show you all of this here in a minute when we get off of the bike
26:21 We're almost to our destination at
26:24 Barber Motorsports Park and leads, Alabama. We're gonna be able to check out a lot of
26:30 Cool vintage bikes if you like old vintage motorcycles, this is the place to be
26:37 we're also going to take a tour of the Barber Motorcycle Museum, which is easily one of the
26:45 biggest and best
26:47 Motorcycle museums in the world. It is absolutely magnificent
26:51 the
26:53 the sheer number of bikes and the sheer
26:56 Quality of these bikes that that are inside this barber museum art is unbelievable. You can spend days inside that museum
27:05 There's just so many bikes to look at and of course, there's nice
27:11 Placards on each bike that describe the history of the bike or whatever history that they know of the bike
27:18 So we'll give you a quick tour of that place as well
27:24 All right, folks. Here. We are at the Barber Motorsports Park for the barber 2023 barber vintage fest
27:32 I'm so excited to check out old bikes. I love old bikes
27:37 I love new bikes too, of course, but old bikes are also neat. They just don't make them like they used to folks
27:42 Ha ha ha ha before we wrap things up. It's also worth noting that this vehicle carries a three-year
27:48 36,000 mile warranty with roadside assistance. So not only is the fit and finish
27:55 elevated
27:59 BMW Motorrad stands behind its product with a three-year
28:03 36,000 mile warranty with roadside assistance pretty neat
28:07 Pretty neat folks. Now if you're interested in the maintenance intervals of this power train, I
28:14 Encourage you to check out our other videos we have on the r18 platform. I think we've made
28:20 The videos on the r18 the r18 classic and the r18
28:26 Transcontinental there's probably a couple of videos on each of those models
28:31 I really encourage you to watch those videos because you're gonna get insight on these vehicles
28:35 That you won't find anywhere else
28:38 on other
28:40 YouTube channels or motorcycle magazines, etc. So check out that video content, of course
28:46 our video content here is
28:49 carefully crafted for
28:52 folks interested in purchasing the vehicles
28:56 So if you're interested in purchasing the vehicle, we're operating this content is a spec is specifically tailored for
29:03 You it's also tailored for
29:06 Enthusiasts of the brand if you're a BMW Motorrad guy or girl and you want to learn more
29:13 About the brand and some of its model offerings
29:17 That is one area where we really specialize and breaking down the details
29:23 So, of course subscribe to our channel if you are a u.s. Proven purchasing
29:28 Motorcycle enthusiast and if you're not it's all good, too
29:32 Maybe you will step up and run with the big leagues one of these days. All right, folks
29:37 We are going to take a pause. I think they're gathering everyone to do some type of media gathering type thing
29:45 So we'll check in with you in a little bit
29:48 Wow folks we made it we just passed like a thousand million cars and bikes to get in here to
29:55 barber Motorsports Park
29:58 There is a
30:02 Bazillion people here. It is pretty crazy to see how many people are here right now
30:09 I never knew this event would be as big as it as it is
30:14 of course
30:17 This year's event is sponsored by BMW Motorrad. They are celebrating a hundred years of
30:23 motorcycle
30:26 Manufacturing how neat is that?
30:28 We love companies that have been around for over a century
30:34 It is cool to see that commitment and that
30:42 Level of just commitment to power sports, so
30:47 congratulations to
30:49 BMW Motorrad on its a
30:51 hundredth birthday
30:54 We're gonna get parked up here and check in with you folks in a little bit
31:02 well folks we made it here to
31:06 Barber Motorsports Park, there is the barber vintage museum, which we spoke about
31:12 Earlier, we'll give you folks a tour of that here in the next few days
31:17 But here is the 2024
31:20 BMW R18
31:23 Rock team this is the vehicle we are operating there is the oversized wheels we were talking about 21 inch
31:30 front
31:33 rims and
31:35 the
31:37 19 inch I'm sorry 18 inch rear so 18 inch rear. It's kind of hidden away
31:43 There is that beautiful
31:46 Shaft final drive the propeller shaft final drive that spins it looks all sick. That is an exquisite
31:53 Design touch right there. There is the copious black chrome
31:58 So in lieu of traditional chrome this has black chrome, which is a shiny chrome just blacked out
32:05 And it has it throughout the vehicle
32:08 There is the 1802 CC
32:12 boxer twin
32:14 With its four inch pistons isn't that crazy at this bike s4 inch pistons isn't that wild look at that engine?
32:21 This engine just is it looks
32:24 Marvelous, this is a marvelous marvelously looking
32:29 Engine just look at how the how clean it is. There's no wires hanging out. There's no lines anywhere
32:37 It's just a pure
32:39 encased
32:41 Piece of power like even the horn is hidden away
32:44 Underneath that cylinder. This is an awesome
32:47 Looking power train awesome. Truly awesome
32:51 now this r18 rock team has
32:57 fixed hard case saddlebags
33:00 So these cases are fixed their hard cases
33:03 Unlike the r18 classic which has soft cases. These are hard and they're painted to the motorcycle
33:12 Here is the lock mechanism you push that but opens that lever and here is the inside of the bag
33:19 Each bag is capable of swallowing seven
33:24 gallons of cargo so seven gallons of cargo we have our
33:30 trusty og o 450 fanny this pack doesn't leave us
33:34 Whether we're riding
33:36 Basically as long as we're not riding at the motorcycle racing track on sport bikes
33:40 We're not wearing that or at the motocross track
33:43 We won't wear it either, but if we're riding any other type of bike or riding off-road
33:47 We will absolutely have that og o 450 fanny. It is a game-changer
33:51 We have our camera here so we can take nice photos for the world to see and our other
33:57 Og o little fanny pack thing. We have our insta 360 one x3 camera, which is totally awesome
34:03 So seven gallons of cargo capacity per bag
34:07 These bags can also be locked with the key. That's right folks
34:13 Here is the key for this vehicle. This is a keyless style ignition
34:19 So it's a keyless style proximity fob
34:22 So as long as this fob is in near proximity of the vehicle it will start let's turn the power off like that
34:29 So this key is cool because it's styled like the engine look
34:36 the key
34:38 Matches the styling of the engine how cool is that? I think it's really neat. There are those beefy four piston
34:46 Calipers right there. They are axial mounts
34:49 They affix to the fork in a more traditional way versus a radial mounting configuration, which is that way?
34:56 Big four piston rear brake, which does a good job of shedding speed at the rear
35:02 very aesthetically pleasing bike
35:05 LED headlamps LED turn signals the
35:09 LED turn signals are neatly integrated into the rear of the saddlebags
35:14 I really like that very clean very nice
35:18 Appearance this motorcycle. It really does just look like jewelry. This is a jewel piece of jewelry
35:25 It is a 800 pound piece of jewelry. It is very very pretty
35:29 Look at the stitching on the seat the stitching the seats excellent
35:34 This material is really good the fit and finish on this bike is at a level that no other
35:42 Heavyweight cruiser company can can match the fit and finish on this motorcycle is literally exquisite
35:47 Good job BMW Motorrad. We appreciate you paying attention to the details for discerning
35:53 Disconcerning power sports customers who only want the best and most well put together
36:00 vehicles
36:02 Well folks that wraps up today's review on BMWs 2024 r18 roctane heavyweight cruiser
36:09 Obviously, we love the engine. It looks beautiful. It sounds even better. It has gobs of torque
36:15 It's a really fun engine to operate the styling on the proportions on this motorcycle are spot-on
36:21 This thing rolls down the road with a commanding stance. It is one heck of a good-looking motorcycle
36:29 It looks like the Rolex watch you'd wear on your arm. It is beautiful
36:34 The ergonomics on this motorcycle aren't our favorite. You feel like you're sitting on a perch on the seat the other r18
36:42 packages
36:45 The ergonomics on this motorcycle certainly aren't our favorite it feels like you're sitting on a perch there are other
36:55 R18 variations that we feel a lot more comfortable on but this still is a really nice
37:03 Cruiser especially for the money
37:05 $21,000
37:07 $2,000 less than the motor companies
37:10 Comparable offering and it's just a really high quality
37:14 Motorcycle. Yeah the boxer engine while we love the engine and torque the cylinder sticking out if you're riding in hot weather
37:22 Or you want some some air on your feet. You're not gonna get that because the cylinders are in the way the the
37:30 Mid-rest controls also aren't conducive for folks with larger feet. We have size 9 feet
37:35 So we're okay
37:36 If you have size 10 11 12 feet you are probably not gonna be liking the limited amount of room
37:42 There still if you're looking for a really nice motorcycle that looks awesome and sounds even better
37:48 This r18 roc-tane might be for you as always folks
