00:00 Hi, I'm Laura Reid, the Deputy Features Editor at the Yorkshire Post. Here's a look at some
00:05 of the features that we've run online and in print this week in case you've missed them.
00:10 We've got plenty to go out for some long reads over the weekend and we've also got our Yorkshire
00:14 Post magazine published on Saturday as part of our weekend edition with more features
00:19 to come there.
00:21 So this week we explored how Gaddings Dam in Calderdale has become a special place for
00:25 wild swimmers. The reservoir, which is 780 feet above sea level, features in a new documentary.
00:34 We also spoke to a Yorkshire children's doctor who's working to tackle health inequalities
00:38 and improving outcomes for patients with spina bifida. Anneliese, Professor, told us about
00:44 her work on a mission to get schools tackling climate change. We heard from the founders
00:49 of Veganuary as a new documentary is released to mark 10 years of the movement being started
00:55 in Yorkshire.
00:56 And on the topic of film, a screening of The Lossen is taking place as part of the Yorkshire
01:01 Festival of Story this week and it's encouraging people to fulfil their life's dreams. We heard
01:06 about that from the film's creator and the actress starring in it, Linda Marlow.
01:13 The organisers of the UK Jewish Film Festival told us about events taking place in Leeds
01:18 and Sheffield for that and reflected on how they've been engulfed by antisemitism in recent
01:25 weeks in particular. We also told how the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds will be closing
01:30 its doors temporarily to undergo an exciting refurbishment, the first major renovation
01:35 in its 30-year history. And we reported on how an archive of folk traditions is being
01:41 saved now for posterity.
01:44 In case you've not seen and would like to hear each week about the highlights from the
01:49 features team, you can sign up to the Yorkshire Lifestyle newsletter to have that in your
01:55 inbox once a week. Everything in there from arts and culture content, magazine stories,
02:01 human interest pieces, health, environment, film, TV, you name it, food and drink and
02:10 property as well. So yeah, do consider signing up to that if you want to keep up to date.
02:16 Thanks!
