00:00 Hi, I'm Laura Reid, the Deputy Features Editor at the Yorkshire Post. I'm just coming on
00:04 to talk you through some of the features that we've run online and in print this week. There's
00:09 lots of long reads to be going at and we've of course got our Yorkshire Post magazine
00:13 with more features published on Saturday as part of our weekend edition as well.
00:18 So at the start of the week we spoke to The Stranger star Jacob Dudman and he told us
00:24 about how he went from producing short films and sketches in his bedroom to making a career
00:29 out of acting and directing. We also heard how a Yorkshire doctor has been supporting
00:34 the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, which is a charity which runs sailing trips that help
00:38 Yorkshire young people who are recovering from cancer see that there's a brighter future.
00:45 We spoke to Yorkshire Beer Bible's Simon Jenkins on how the brewing industry has changed since
00:51 the pandemic and we also heard how a new dance show is encouraging people to tackle climate
00:57 change. We looked at how drag superstar Myra DuBois was inspired by the South Yorkshire
01:03 upbringing of creator Gareth Joyner and we spoke to Phil Wang about his latest talk coming
01:08 to Yorkshire. We also spoke to lead script writer Lisa Holdsworth on how Kaye Mellor
01:16 kick-started her career and that's one that's seen her go on to work with the likes of Emmerdale,
01:21 All Creatures Great and Small and Call the Midwife. And then in Arts and Culture we looked
01:26 ahead to the International Performance Festival Transform as it returns across Leeds next
01:31 month and we spoke to musician and composer Erland Cooper tied to an appearance in Leeds
01:37 this week. We've also got our weekly Yorkshire Lifestyle Newsletter which brings you the
01:44 best from the Features Team direct to your inbox each week. So everything from our magazine
01:50 content to human interest, health, stories, as well as property, fashion and much more.
02:00 So do consider signing up to that as well. Thank you.
