Antoinette Mangin's Fatal Crash @ Abreschviller 1968 (Aftermath)

Antoinette Mangin suffered a fatal accident during the proceedings of the 3rd edition of the Course de Côte de Abreschviller, held on Sunday, 07 July 1968 in Abreschviller, Meurthe-et-Moselle department in north-eastern France.

Her car went out of control and crashed on a straight. It was Antoinette Mangin's first ever participation in a racing event. Different accounts erroneously showed her year of death to be 1973 instead of 1968.

Mangin was said to be from Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, a town in the French department of Vosges, but it is unclear whether she was a native or a resident of that town.

Eight years later another debuting driver, Patrick Reichrath, lost his life in an accident very close to the place where Antoinette Mangin had crashed, during the 1976 edition of the hillclimb.
