Rusty Wallace flipped across the finish line at The 1993 Winston 500 was held on May 2, 1993, at Talladega Superspeedway. Coming to the checkered flag, Dale Earnhardt hit Rusty Wallace from behind, sending Wallace airborne across the finish line. Wallace flipped wildly, leaving his car in a junk heap, just as it occurred during the Daytona 500. Despite suffering a broken wrist, Wallace returned to racing the following week. For his troubles, Rusty was still credited with a 6th place finish.
