00:00 Here with Rick Wagner, Chairman and CEO of General Motors.
00:07 Rick, very interesting speech this morning, I thought, very upbeat and with a long-term
00:11 message for General Motors.
00:12 Yeah, thanks.
00:13 It was a great opportunity, Angus, for us to step back and look at where we think the
00:17 industry's going, really comparing the growth opportunities with the challenges.
00:22 And the challenges center, with a lot of focus today around where's the energy supply going
00:26 to come from.
00:27 And so our team did a great job thinking out, we think, the right path.
00:31 And so it was fun to be able to lay that out and the vision of electrically driven vehicles
00:36 with really a diversity of sources of energy to power that electrically driven vehicle.
00:41 Now you've got to reassure my guys, just when we're talking about electrically driven vehicles,
00:45 we're not talking about boring cars, are we?
00:47 Absolutely.
00:48 And very purposefully in my speech, I spent, OK, the first 22 minutes or whatever, if you
00:52 were still awake that long, talking about the issue of propulsion and energy and electrically
00:57 driven vehicles and all that.
00:58 But I was very clear that we understand you can come up with great technologies, but if
01:02 you wrap it in a boring vehicle, you're not moving the needle.
01:05 You've got to get customers excited to buy that car and truck.
01:09 They'll like the new propulsion, but they're going to buy it because it looks great, it's
01:12 got a great interior, it's got great performance, which I know matters to you and people like
01:16 me.
01:17 So we know we've got to, as I say, walk and chew gum at the same time, and we're committed
01:20 to do that.
01:21 Thanks very much, Rick.
01:22 Thanks, Angus.
01:23 Great to be with you.
