00:09 Radical progress is being made by Leaps and Bounds, setting this 49 Merc on fire.

00:18 Now I'm going to come back with the transparent candy yellow and intensify the yellow to more

00:25 It's had over 15 color layers in a lot of Mike's time, but as we can plainly see, it's
00:29 time well spent, resulting in a car that just might end up being one of the most awesome
00:34 1949 Mercs on the road today.
00:37 When I see the look on their face, as soon as they see the car or the bike or whatever
00:41 it is for the first time, and you can just, you know, they get this look on their face,
00:46 for me that's the best part of the whole job.
00:49 Now it's time for scullage.
00:52 Gotta have the killer pink skull on there, otherwise you can't leave the country.
00:59 The Canadian maple leaf and skull on the trunk call for more precision.
01:03 The only time Lavallee would use paper masks on this job.
01:07 On the back I want to take that maple leaf and make it as a mask so I can paint the skull
01:13 in the shape of the leaf, and then leave a little pinstripe around the outside, and I'll
01:18 put fire around it so when I pull the pinstripe out, there'll be a little outline there, but
01:22 it'll still be a skull with fire, not just a red leaf.
01:25 I like it.
01:28 I like it a lot.
01:29 I think it's really cool.
01:31 That's exactly what I envisioned.
01:33 And it still looks kind of like the red maple leaf from the flag, just a little more twisted.

01:41 Ready to add a special signature in just the right place.

02:19 I mean, making sure the doors are closed, we don't want that guy to see anything.
02:23 And then when he finally sees it, it's like, you just see his eyes.
02:26 It just makes it all worthwhile.
