Associate Editor Allyson Harwood takes a look at the newest iteration of Infinitis biggest vehicle
Transcript
00:00 You are looking at the 2011 model of Infiniti's QX56, the largest SUV in its line, alright,
00:13 the largest vehicle in its line.
00:15 As you can see, the styling has significantly changed for this model year, and I think part
00:19 of what prompted that is that it is now on a new platform as well.
00:23 It is now on the same platform as the world market Nissan Patrol.
00:29 With these changes, it's still body on frame, still off-road capable, and still can tow
00:34 quite a lot.
00:35 I believe it's around 8,500 pounds.
00:36 The vehicle itself is now longer, wider, and actually lower than it was before.
00:44 It's still powered by a 5.6 liter V8, but now it offers 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet
00:51 of torque, both significant increases.
00:54 And as you would imagine, because it's an Infiniti, there are a wide variety of interior
00:57 amenities that you've come to expect from that company, including dual 7-inch screens
01:02 for the second row, lots of leather, lots of chrome, and it's a very, very good-looking
01:08 interior.
01:09 What's nice about this vehicle is even with the redesign, with more power, more efficiency,
01:14 a lot of nice amenities, the 2011 model will still come out at the same price as the 2010
01:19 did when it goes on sale this summer.
