00:00 Guys, it's great to see you.
00:01 Season two, how does it feel to be back with another season of this?
00:06 I mean, thrilling.
00:08 I had such a good time making season one
00:10 that to go back and do another season was just like, "Hell yeah."
00:14 - It is amazing. - It's mad, isn't it?
00:15 It is amazing.
00:16 In the world the way it is,
00:18 to start work on a second series is always like, "Yes, I'm safe."
00:24 Very glad, very glad we got to go back.
00:26 Yeah, obviously it's so validating to...
00:30 We spent so much time and energy on that first series
00:34 and put so much into it.
00:36 So it means that maybe someone watched it and someone liked it.
00:39 Lots of people watched it. It was very, very popular.
00:42 This show attracted a very cerebral, geeky bunch of people.
00:47 In our spare time, we did escape rooms.
00:49 We were in Cardiff for six months,
00:51 and so when we weren't at the pub, we were escaping from rooms.
00:56 I feel like you would have to go to the pub
00:57 the day after you're filming on this because it's a lot, right?
01:00 - Yeah, it is a lot. - It is a lot.
01:01 It's a lot, isn't it?
01:02 It's sort of brain-ache watching it, but being in it
01:05 and trying to remember what's happening, who you are,
01:07 what year you're in, what terrible thing is about to happen.
01:10 - If you're alive. - If you're alive, if you're dead.
01:12 - If someone's... - If you get killed.
01:13 It is a big deal, and I think...
01:16 It's very interesting because people do pick up on that.
01:18 They go, "How do you cope with it?"
01:19 Because sometimes you watch telly and you think, "It's all easy, isn't it?
01:22 "It's all... You know, it's just filming. They're having fun."
01:24 But actually, it's brain-ache sometimes.
01:26 I feel like... I feel like...
01:28 Even though we might play it cool, I feel like we all quite enjoy
01:30 - brain-crunching... - Yeah.
01:32 - ...the mind... - I mean, I think that is cool.
01:34 - ...bendingness. I think it's pretty cool. - Yeah.
01:35 How was the escape rooms?
01:36 I don't think I could go in there as a Glaswegian person.
01:38 I think I'd get too frustrated, honestly.
01:41 Not for me.
01:42 They've got escape rooms in Glasgow.
01:44 I know, but just for me, I would get too annoyed.
01:45 - Too stressed. - Too stressed, yeah.
01:47 They do trigger something in me where I end up getting a bit too passionate
01:51 - and competitive, so... - She's very good, basically.
01:53 No, I just... I throw myself into them.
01:56 I think, in my head, I think it's real,
01:58 and I have to get my friends out, and if I don't, we'll all die.
02:00 - Papa's good. Anjali's actually a pro. - Yeah.
02:03 Anjali is the one that got us all addicted.
02:06 She said that she was, like, taking it very seriously.
02:09 - Is that the real way? - But Archie would.
02:10 Archie, her character, would also take it massively seriously,
02:13 - wouldn't she? - Oh, that's so interesting.
02:14 - She's very well cast. - Yeah.
02:16 Because that's straight down the line,
02:18 and this isn't fun, this is serious.
02:20 Yeah, she means business in the escape room.
02:23 We're not there to have fun, we're there to escape from a room.
02:25 So it'd be escape rooms in the pub to escape the day
02:29 - after a day of filming, then? - Yeah, exactly.
02:31 See, I can't think of anything worse than an escape room.
02:33 I've never been in an escape room, by the way.
02:34 I let other members of the cast do that. I never did that.
02:37 It was... It's such a funny thing. I don't really know...
02:40 - It's a funny thing to decide to all do. - Yeah.
02:43 But we're all quite close as a cast, and all very different,
02:47 so everyone's tactics were very interesting and funny.
02:50 I feel like it's one of those events that you would find out a lot about,
02:53 people, more than what you would expect.
02:55 Oh, it really reveals people's true colours.
02:57 You'll just get snapped at.
02:59 I've had to learn to calm down and let everyone else have a go.
03:04 I'd need a few cocktails, I think, to get me through it.
03:06 - I'd either be like you, or I would just not care. - I think you'd be great.
03:09 I'd be like, "Just leave us in here, it's fine."
03:11 - I'd definitely be arranged for a cocktail. - As long as there's cocktails.
03:13 Well, I can do it with you guys, then. That would be great.
03:15 Maybe we could do it together, cos yours are the best people for this.
03:19 I've got enough practice.
03:20 But season two, then, what can we expect?
03:23 People are very excited about that.
03:25 - Oh, my gosh, so much. - It's massive.
03:27 It's massive. It's massive.
03:28 I mean, if you thought series one was kind of mind-bending,
03:32 this really does explode.
03:34 We're stuck in an infinite three-week time loop,
03:37 which we as an organisation have to come together,
03:39 all beefs are off the table, we have to build bridges,
03:42 and basically save humanity from being wiped out completely.
03:46 It's also very much, I would say, the series of the woman.
03:49 All of the women in Lazarus are absolutely calling the shots in this series,
03:53 - and it's... - It's exciting, isn't it?
03:55 - It's really exciting. - Yeah.
