00:00 >> How's your confidence level going into Chicago?
00:03 >> Doesn't change that, obviously, I have to be better, obviously,
00:07 I'm physically on the back.
00:09 But it's part of the game, it is what it is.
00:12 And that's so long season, you can't carry any of that over.
00:18 You gotta take from it, watch the film, we'll go over this stuff,
00:23 learn from it, correct it, and then after that, recess.
00:28 It's one game, obviously, it's a lot of stuff, obviously,
00:32 that I need to do better, but it doesn't change who I am.
00:36 That's the mentality, we all have to be better.
00:43 And we're just a team that lives in the mirror.
00:46 So we all feel like we all wanna be better.
00:49 And it's more the chase to do that that doesn't affect the team,
00:53 the confidence we have.
00:55 >> Does it help if you're short, turn around and get back on the field?
00:58 >> I mean, obviously, it makes for
01:00 you to have to turn that page a little quicker.
01:04 It's a short week, obviously,
01:07 we have to make sure that we do all that we can to be our best on Thursday.
01:13 So it just is how it shakes out, you gotta turn the page quick.
01:19 There's no time to do anything, obviously, we're playing a couple days.
01:24 So we're gonna learn from this, figure that out.
01:27 Turn the page and then automatically get to work,
01:31 work immediately back to now we're focused on Chicago.
01:35 >> Bryce, Brad keeps saying that he's seen the best quarterbacks go through
01:38 stretches like this or worse.
01:40 How hard is it to hear that coming off a game like you just had?
01:45 >> I mean, as Coach Ragoza says,
01:48 it's an experience being around a lot of great quarterbacks.
01:53 There's the perspective part, and obviously, that's the coaches.
01:57 And everyone, you have respect, but obviously,
02:01 the moment as a competitor, just trying to do my best every day.
02:07 It's not something that I necessarily think about.
02:10 It's just I have to be better, I have to be a lot better.
02:15 And that as a competitor, you don't think about next week while you're on the field.
02:21 You don't think about next year, you don't think about whatever it is.
02:23 It's all about the here and now.
02:25 It's real folks business.
02:26 So I think, of course, coaches are gonna have, coaches for whatever it is.
02:31 They have perspective, and it's okay to have perspective.
02:33 But for me, I can't change my approach.
02:36 And it doesn't affect, it's about day to day, trying to win each day.
02:41 Trying to do the best I can, and you wanna be the best you can, be a medium.
02:45 And again, whatever happens, happens.
02:47 But that's just the approach that I have and we all have.
02:50 So I have to be a lot better.
02:52 >> Bryce, have you ever had anything like that?
02:57 >> I have that, obviously, you have bad games and
03:02 losses, losses to the phone.
03:05 And it doesn't matter, I can't do that, I have to be better.
03:09 My defense played great.
03:11 People in positions, turn the ball over.
03:16 Turn the ball over three times, two of them, turn it 14 points.
03:20 So that's how you lose a game.
03:23 Everyone else around me did a great job, and so did me.
03:25 So it is what it is, you have to be better.
03:29 But at the same time, no one's gonna feel sorry for me,
03:32 no one's gonna feel sorry for us.
03:33 I'll learn from it, get better.
03:35 Now, we have to turn our attention to Chicago, that's the mindset.
03:40 You put it where it is, you learn from it.
03:43 And in a couple days, I'll show you that to go out and be better, and
03:46 perform better, and put on tape what we wanna be.
03:49 And that's a great opportunity.
03:51 >> Bryce, now that you've played half a season, and
03:54 you're looking forward to the next half, what's one thing you would like to clean
03:57 up on or fix just to show progress in these next eight or nine games?
04:01 >> Just do a better job of contributing to the wins and managing games.
04:04 I've made some fatal mistakes in a couple games, I've been responsible for
04:08 a lot, and we can't have that.
04:11 That's the reason why we are where we are, we have to be better.
04:15 And again, people around are playing better.
04:19 I think we need to do a job at a lot of things today, but at the end of the day,
04:23 if I put ourselves in a position where we can't win, we're not going to.
04:27 We're gonna have to be better at that.
04:28 So just contribute to the managing games better,
04:31 making sure we're in positions as an LB or as a B manager to be successful.
04:36 I have to do a lot better job of that.
04:37 >> Bryce, can you tell us, walking us through those two big sixes,
04:42 what did you see and what went wrong in those two plays?
04:45 >> Yeah, bad throws and bad decisions on both.
04:50 After Mayesh Rich Ward, both probably, both could easily have been dirty balls,
04:55 and especially the first one, just a better place ball.
04:58 And that's not on anybody but me.
05:02 It's not, people are in position, that's something I'm gonna be better on.
05:07 That's day one quarterback stuff.
05:09 There's nothing crazy depth to it, there's no deeper story.
05:13 But those are bad plays.
05:15 Again, 10, 14 points, you're not gonna win games like that, and that's on me.
05:19 So obviously that's stuff that I can't do, not to be better at.
05:24 And again, great thing is we have opportunity,
05:26 especially now in a couple days, to be better.
05:30 So for me now, it is what it is, watch the film, learn from it, and
05:34 then do everything I can during the week to prepare, get better from it.
05:39 Take it, learn from it, and then be better for the rest of the week.
05:44 >> Bryce, how do you go to for advice beyond Frank and
05:48 the people inside this building to help you get through the moments like this?
05:53 >> It's not something that you have to have, for me at least.
05:57 It's just about watch the film, that's really my approach.
06:02 Watch the film, I'll be okay, there's no one that I trust more.
06:05 And the guys in this building, when it comes to that, teach me what to do, and
06:09 I'll obviously learn from my mistakes.
06:11 And again, there's been a lot of people in the building,
06:14 in the core rec room that have a lot of experience as well.
06:17 So it's a blessing, I don't have to build a house for that.
06:19 I can stay, meetings everyone, we have multiple people that play a ton of snaps,
06:24 good and bad, there's a lot of knowledge we're gonna have to set up.
06:28 For me, it's just about being better, watching the film, learning from that.
06:32 And again, I'm gonna be able to have stuff I can where I can do all that here.
06:37 >> Bryce, it seemed like the second half,
06:38 there was a conscious effort to get the ball in Miles' hands, the big play to Hayden.
06:42 How much were you trying to incorporate those guys, and
06:45 how much did you need those two specifically, second half of the year?
06:49 >> I think, again, we all feed off each other, everyone's important.
06:53 Miles Hayden stepped up, made some really good plays.
06:58 And again, it's just making sure that all of us are our best.
07:01 So for me, it was just trying to execute the plays that were called.
07:06 And the couple of positive plays they made, again, they're great players.
07:11 And people around the team are doing a great job, people up front,
07:15 protecting and having links for Miles.
07:19 And again, they're great players.
07:21 So it's just making sure that we're gonna need everybody.
07:26 There's not anybody, we're not in a position to, it's optional.
07:31 We need everyone.
07:32 And we all know that, we all accept that challenge, we all understand.
07:35 So I'm grateful for my team, grateful for the people around me.
07:38 And I'm not even a part of this, I have to do better.
07:41 >> Bryce, what's been the most significant lesson you've learned throughout your
07:44 career, that really affected you as a quarterback?
07:47 >> Good question.
07:52 I think it's just understanding that good or
07:58 bad, you have to be able to change the page.
08:02 Whatever it is you've done, positive or negative,
08:05 doesn't entitle you to anything next week.
08:07 It doesn't entitle you to the next opponent.
08:08 So just the importance of context.
08:12 Competitor, we're all competitive.
08:15 We all feel this, we're all in for this loss.
08:18 So you do, and it is what it is.
08:21 But at the same time, that doesn't entitle you to anything.
08:26 Good or bad, move forward.
08:27 And no one's gonna, no one feels sorry for anyone.
08:32 And we have the opportunity, we have to change the page.
08:35 We have to do it quickly.
08:36 It's a great opportunity for us to bounce back.
08:39 We get obviously right back to work tomorrow.
08:42 So I think for me, it's just, you can feel how you feel,
08:46 maybe emotions, but at a certain point, especially with the timetable now,
08:51 you have to build this over with.
08:54 It's just lessons that you can grow from.
08:56 And again, that's with good or bad.
08:59 And obviously it applies this week.
09:01 And making sure that you're able to focus on what you can control and
09:04 change the page.
09:05 So that's obviously what we're doing this week.
09:07 >> All right, thank you, Brian.
