00:00 Monday Night Football in MetLife between the New York Jets and the LA Chargers.
00:05 Again, the Bolts a three and a half point favorite, the over and under 39 and a half.
00:10 Donnie, as we had the injury insight from Dr. Chow, SICscore.com, by the way, for more of
00:16 those updated field views to paint the picture for tonight on a Monday in MetLife. I think the
00:22 thing that stands out to me most, four significant injuries across the five offensive line positions
00:28 for the Jets tonight trying to protect Zach Wilson. 39 and a half is the total, Donnie. We know the
00:34 Jets defense is very, very good. Is the offense going to be able to do enough, Donnie, to keep
00:39 game green in this football game? I think they'll be in the football game, but again, it's you're
00:44 coming in with known commodities, right? We know Herbert is a really good quarterback. It's a solid
00:49 offense for the Chargers. We know that the Jets are challenged, to say the least, on offense.
00:54 They have a very good running back that can hit home runs, but an inconsistent passing game.
00:58 Whenever you have an inconsistent passing game, that usually doesn't lead to results in victories
01:02 to your liking here, but the Jets are winning here. I don't want to say by default, because
01:06 it's a little disrespectful. Anytime you get wins against teams like the Philadelphia Eagles
01:09 and the NFL, you'll take them any way they can get them, even if they're handed to you.
01:13 And if they are, you have to take advantage of the situation, which they have been doing that.
01:16 But I'm not willing to come in this game and say, look, we're all prop betters here, typically to
01:20 the over. Oh, I really like Zach Wilson tonight. No, I don't. And as a doc pointed out, if you're
01:25 banged up on that offensive line and you have subpar quarterback play and you're relying on
01:31 a running back, well, how does the running back get his yards? He doesn't create the hole by
01:34 himself. They have to be blocked open. And if you're not going to have the ability to do that,
01:38 how effective can your running game be? So as we talked earlier in the show, the under really
01:42 strikes me here. But if I'm just looking for an honest output, I think the Jets can win the
01:46 football game. Yeah. The line's basically three. They're at home. They've been playing decent
01:50 football, but I'm not going to be turning this football game on the second quarter. Like, oh,
01:54 man, the Jets look like they're really fluid on offense. It's basically going to be like,
01:58 I hope the Jets defense can make a play here to help the offense out. That's not a way to
02:02 handicap a football game. Do I think the Jets can win? Yes. My bet is the Jets win. Absolutely not.
02:06 DRS, the New York Jets have only scored more than 20 points once since week number one in
02:14 that weird game where they scored 22 against the Buffalo Bills on the first Monday night of this
02:20 season at MetLife. That was against the Denver Broncos, who are an atrocious football team,
02:25 defensively, or at least worthy of the first month and a half of this season. Outside of that,
02:30 the Jets have not been able to muster up much offense. 17 and a half is their team total
02:37 tonight for them to get to 17 feels far-fetched to me, DRS. But on top of that, to go over 17 and
02:46 a half, having that hook in your favor, I think is my favorite bet for Monday night football.
02:51 Again, they've scored more than 20 points just once since week number one. And now I'm going to
02:57 say some really nice things about the New York Jets. Their defense is elite and they have had
03:01 to take on a huge burden this year since losing Aaron Rodgers. The Jets have been booked, Donnie,
03:08 as an underdog in six of their seven games this year. They are four and two against the number.
03:12 They have won outright three times as an underdog. And gang green, Donnie, has won three consecutive
03:19 games. The Jets are on a three-game win streak. If you would have told me, Donnie, entering week
03:23 number nine in the conclusion of that sleep in the National Football League, Monday night
03:29 in that life between the Chargers and the Jets following the Aaron Rodgers injury, who would be
03:34 the team at least a game above 500? I would have said, oh yeah, the Chargers finally living up to
03:38 that optimism that we have for them each and every season, only to remember by week number two,
03:43 Brandon Staley is their head coach and he is inept at making game management decisions. Donnie,
03:49 the Chargers entered this game with some slight optimism, but they're three and four. And that
03:53 third victory came against the Chicago Bears. Why should I have belief in the Chargers laying three
04:00 and a half tonight? I just don't have much of a thought, Donnie, on how this game plays out
04:05 because of the concern to the Jets' offensive line. But it's not like I'm like, oh yeah,
04:10 the Chargers are the favorites and rightfully so. That's the angle of attack for me.
04:14 Well, here's what you can look at for the Chargers, right? First two games of the season,
04:18 they lost Miami Dolphins and at Tennessee here. Now, when you take a look at those two games,
04:22 lost by two to Miami, lost by three on the road to Tennessee. Let's take those two games out of
04:27 the equation, which they were competitive, just didn't win. They handled their business against
04:30 the Minnesota Vikings, which at the time had Justin Jefferson and also had Kirk Cousins there.
04:35 That's a nice win for them on the road to 24. Then you go in and take a look at Las Vegas,
04:40 24 to 17, bad football team. But again, that MO of, okay, we beat a team that we don't think is
04:45 all that talented by three points here. You level up in competition. Dallas is still a talented
04:50 football team and will make the playoffs. You lose by three to them. You go on the road and
04:53 take on Kansas City, maybe the best team in the NFL. You lose by 14 points. You have a bounce
04:58 back effort against Chicago, who's not a great football team without a great quarterback here.
05:01 Now, Beijing actually played decent football over the past couple of weeks here. So maybe
05:05 the Chicago Bears are a little bit better than what they thought they were, but they slaughtered
05:08 the Bears here. The MO trying to make or build it for why I think the Chargers will win this game
05:13 is if I, again, just entering in, we know the Jets defense is good. You can't just, and it's
05:18 not the two thousands anymore. It's like, Hey, by the Ravens score 13 points, win a game and then
05:22 end up winning the Superbowl. That's not happening. Now, if I can't get competent play out of my
05:26 offense, how can I rely on a team that I know the charges for one thing here, they have weapons all
05:30 across the board. Are they a little bit banged up at wide receiver? Yes. But they still have Keenan
05:34 Allen. Are they having the greatest season from Austin Eckler? No, but he's still efficient out
05:38 of the backfield. And Herbert has a chance to hit those high marks that you can trust. If I'm just
05:42 looking for trustability tonight, I like the way the Jets are playing rallying the troops,
05:47 but the better offense resides for the charges tonight and the charges front line can give a
05:53 lot of problems to a banged up offensive line for the Jets and a compromised quarterback there.
05:58 That's the only way I can look at it tonight. I do think the Chargers win. I think the game
06:01 stays under, but it's just a level of trust. Hey, Donnie, the Jets are going to have a good
06:05 offensive performance. Yeah. I don't trust anything you're saying with that statement
06:08 in here. Do you hear me? Feel me? Yeah. Yeah. I
