  • last year

00:06 These are pets that were loved and cared for by their owners.
00:11 They are just a few of the many pets that their pet owners chose to take care of through this memorial wall.
00:19 It was built in 2005 inside the compound of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society or PAWS.
00:26 It started as a small wall but when it was filled, they built a bigger memorial wall.
00:32 At PAWS, we understand that pets have a huge contribution to the well-being of our people as pet owners.
00:42 And when we lose a pet, it hurts us so much.
00:48 So we wanted to provide an outlet for the pet owners so that when they pass by,
00:57 they get to visit and they get to remember the animals that have left their pet.
01:03 More than 500 animals are remembered here in the memorial wall, most of them are cats and dogs.
01:10 But there are also Mr. Prick, a hedgehog, Oni Boy, a chicken, and Miri Poppet Gaston, a rabbit.
01:19 The payment for each memotile is P2,500, which is five years in contract.
01:25 And it can also be renewed.
01:27 The money that is transferred from the memorial wall goes to the pets that were rescued by PAWS.
01:34 We have cemeteries that are visited by people, cemeteries for people.
01:41 So in PAWS, the PAWS memorial wall, it's not a cemetery but it's a place for us to remember the loved ones in the lives of pets that passed away.
01:54 One or more names of pets can be placed by pet owners on a tile.
01:59 Like this tile, they chose to remember their pets like cats, chickens, chickens, goats, goldfish, calapatis, and pagong.
02:09 The stickers, the designs, they can provide the pictures of their pets from birth to old age.
02:18 And then the pictures together with their pets to be placed on the tiles.
02:22 This memorial wall proves that not only the people who visit the memorial wall are the ones who are being cared for,
02:29 but also the pets that were once considered part of a family.
