00:00 If you contrast it to the last winter on energy bills at least,
00:03 while the rates that we pay for energy are lower now than at this
00:06 time last year, at this time last year, which was the worst winter
00:10 we've ever seen for energy bills, then across the winter from
00:13 October to March, people were getting that £400 state support.
00:17 So that was 66 to 67 quid a month being paid to every household.
00:21 That isn't happening this year.
00:24 So you factor that in and you look for somebody on typical bills.
00:27 And even though last winter was, you know, the most horrendous year,
00:31 which we were all talking about in catastrophic terms in the run up to it,
00:34 actually, the typical household will be paying more month by month
00:38 this coming winter than they did last winter.
00:41 There is still some state support available.
00:44 Today is the start of the second cost of living home for the eight million
00:48 people on cost of living payment for the eight million people on means
00:52 tested benefits that will be paid between now and the 19th of November.
00:57 It counts if you were on if you were on benefits a couple of months ago.
01:00 So that will be coming in.
01:01 That's another £300, and there'll be one more of those payments next spring.
