00:00 The haunted hayride in nocturnal wasteland at Field of Screams left kids frightened.
00:06 I was terrified and I'm never going on it again.
00:08 It was kind of scary. My legs were shaking.
00:11 [Screaming]
00:12 Teenagers terrified.
00:14 I was holding on to my friend the whole time.
00:17 And, man, never again I want to leave.
00:20 I had to get out of his face.
00:22 He ran away from me.
00:23 It was good.
00:24 Wait, wait, wait. He ran?
00:25 Yeah, I was using it as protection. He ran.
00:27 I had to run. He took it. I had to run.
00:30 And this reporter creeped out.

00:34 The scariest part of the season for the crew has been the pattern of rainy weekends
00:39 here in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and across much of the Northeast.
00:43 It was one of the rainiest falls to date for us, like weekend-wise.
00:48 It was really detrimental. It was challenging.
00:51 Co-owner Jim Schoaf says the old family farm was transformed into a fear factory 31 years ago.
00:59 This top-rated haunted attraction features scares inside old barns
01:04 that have weathered storms for more than 200 years.
01:08 They've invested in the outdoor attractions that run rain or shine without all the mud.
01:14 We've taken a lot of steps to plan for the rain.
01:17 We have a lot of stone now, pavers, paved areas, even the hayride path itself.
01:23 It's not through the muddy cornfield anymore. The path itself is stoned.
01:27 It's been a wild ride, but Schoaf says they're making the most of every scary night,
01:32 and they don't mind getting a little wet.
01:35 Some people come out and they say, "Oh, we just love it when it's raining out here."
01:39 It adds a whole new creepy element of atmosphere to feel the screams.
01:44 For AccuWeather.
01:46 (laughing)
01:48 And the water.
