00:12 >> Thank you very much.
00:13 [ Applause ]
00:13 >> And the part.
00:14 >> Thank you so much.
00:14 >> Thank you very much.
00:15 >> Thank you.
00:15 >> I want to say that we are not saying we do away with the middlemen.
00:25 We are saying we have a complementary approach to marketing.
00:31 Those who want to buy directly, those who want to buy from the middlemen, they continue.
00:36 We have a very credible organization, the Kenya Plantas Cooperative Union, KPCU.
00:44 It is an organization that has been there for many years.
00:49 It has very good capacity for milling, for storage, and for grading.
00:56 And all arrangements made with that particular organization will be honored to the letter.
01:01 And the government of the Republic of Kenya can vouch for their credibility.
01:05 So that is the organization that will seek to connect with you.
01:09 You compare with what is being offered by other people and see what is the best deal
01:14 that you can get, but I have no doubt in my mind that the one that is directly
01:20 from the farmer will not only give you the best quality, but it will also give you the best price.
01:27 Because that particular body is not profit making.
01:30 It doesn't load any profit.
01:32 It's just processing for the farmer, for onward processing without loading any profit.
01:37 And therefore, their pricing will be slightly better than the people who are loading.
01:42 Again, I am very happy about the minimum prices.
01:48 The guaranteed minimum return is really the motivating factor for any farmer.
01:53 Because a farmer assured of a certain price goes to the farm with certainty and expectation
02:02 of what the farmer will earn at the end of the season.
02:05 And that gives the farmer the confidence to continue putting more effort
02:10 and to continue taking care of the crop.
02:13 So I really want to thank you for your time and for your contribution.
02:18 And I look forward to more meaningful discussion.
02:22 I trust you'll get time to come and engage with us in Kenya.
02:26 We'll be arranging to provide samples and pricing so that you can have a look
02:32 and you can be able to make an informed decision.
