00:00 Well, it felt like September here in the Northeast
00:02 with record challenging warmth.
00:03 Changes are on the way, as we've mentioned.
00:06 Bernie Rayno and AccuAir, the long range expert,
00:08 Joe Lundberg, have a closer look
00:10 as they give us a sneak peek at the next week.
00:12 Well, as we take a look at next week,
00:17 like last week at this time,
00:19 we have a very challenging forecast for the upcoming week,
00:22 but it's a forecast that's gonna have lots of changes, Joe.
00:26 Indeed it will, Bernie.
00:27 And the big headline, I think,
00:28 is the fact that we're gonna be in a big temperature roll
00:30 or colder, the coldest air we've seen so far this season
00:32 will drill down the plains
00:34 and eventually work its way to the east.
00:35 That'll be followed by a warmup.
00:37 Watch out for some snow threat
00:38 across the interior Northeast
00:40 in that Tuesday, Wednesday timeframe.
00:42 And we're still keeping an eye on the Caribbean.
00:44 Here it is, it's late October.
00:45 We're not done yet with the tropics.
00:46 Yeah, as we head into the early part of the week, Joe,
00:48 here's the big story, a lot of cold.
00:51 Yeah, a big area of high pressure
00:52 will come down into the Plain States,
00:54 drive this cold air southward first,
00:56 deep down into Texas,
00:57 but then it will eventually turn and head into the east.
01:00 As we make that transition,
01:01 though, watch for an area of low pressure
01:03 to develop somewhere in this fashion.
01:04 As it does, it taps into that cold air
01:07 on the Northwest side of it.
01:09 There's a snow threat for parts of New England,
01:10 especially the higher elevations,
01:12 even back into parts of upstate New York
01:14 and the higher ground of northern and western Pennsylvania.
01:16 Now here comes a change
01:17 as we head into the latter half of the week, Joe,
01:19 because all of a sudden the cold eases
01:23 as warmer air starts to spread into the plains.
01:25 Yep, high pressure in the Plain States moves eastward.
01:27 It's cold at night, chilly by day,
01:29 then it starts to moderate toward next weekend.
01:31 The warmth comes into the Plain States early,
01:33 but down here, some showers with an east to northeast flow,
01:36 and that suggests that in the Caribbean
01:39 there may be some bubble bubble toil and trouble.
01:41 We'll be keeping an eye on this area
01:42 for possible development
01:44 during the middle and latter part of next week.
