00:00 - Hi!
00:01 - Hi!
00:02 - There you go!
00:03 - Hi!
00:04 - Hi!
00:05 - There you go!
00:06 - We immediately were approached by a very large great dane.
00:11 We had to be really, really careful
00:13 approaching her initially,
00:15 but we realized that she was friendly
00:17 and we were able to handle her.
00:18 - Hi honey.
00:19 - Oh, you got ouchy leg.
00:24 - And we walked down the driveway a little bit
00:27 and we saw the mastiff laying in the middle of the driveway
00:30 and she wasn't really responding,
00:32 wasn't really getting up, so it was really concerned.
00:36 But you could tell she was kind and sweet natured.
00:39 - She's crawling.
00:41 - Aww.
00:43 - Aww.
00:46 (soft music)
00:50 - Good girl.
00:56 (soft music)
00:58 - Oh yeah, it's burning her paws.
01:02 - Hurry, hurry, hurry!
01:06 - Come on baby.
01:06 - Come on up, you got it.
01:08 - Good girl.
01:09 - Hi!
01:10 - She does, dude.
01:13 Maybe we look at her teeth.
01:16 - She let us handle her without any issue.
01:20 - Let's go in here.
01:24 Let's do this.
01:25 Pull and push at the same time.
01:29 Help me push the carrier.
01:30 You're okay sweetie, come on.
01:33 Okay, I got her.
01:36 - We were both taken straight to our shelter clinic
01:41 for exams and medical attention.
01:44 - Good job, whoa, a baby!
01:46 - Once we microchipped scan them
01:48 and contacted the dog owner,
01:51 we received information that they were both used
01:54 for breeding.
01:55 The owner had a lot going on.
01:58 They just decided that it was in their dog's best interest
02:00 to just surrender them.
02:02 The rescue one day at a time pulled both the dogs
02:05 and they were able to get the medical attention.
02:07 Come on girls.
02:08 Let's go.
02:11 Come on.
02:13 Come on.
02:15 You don't wanna get out of bed?
02:17 I knew I had to help them.
02:18 It was just not a job in my mind that they needed.
02:21 They have a break finally in life.
02:23 Great Danes are a whole different beast
02:26 in terms of fostering.
02:27 They take up more space, they groom more,
02:30 but I also think that they love more.
02:32 They love her.
02:33 Hi.
02:34 It was probably after about two weeks
02:37 that the girls started really coming out of their shell
02:40 and when their tails started wagging,
02:42 that's when I knew that they had been fully decompressed
02:44 and they were gonna be okay.
02:46 Having been with them for a couple of months now,
02:48 they can absolutely go to individual homes
02:52 so that they can each get spoiled brunt on their own.
02:55 These are dogs that would be ideal in a home
03:01 with retired people, older people,
03:03 or really truly anybody that doesn't have
03:06 a super active lifestyle and just wants a companion.
03:09 (upbeat music)
03:12 (dogs barking)
