00:03 - And we had all the 52 members, they were all present.
00:18 And then we had one from CCK,
00:23 so part of the KK coalition.
00:25 And those are the members who are ready
00:28 to make the decision of the way forward.
00:30 Our findings as follows, one,
00:34 we first of all, it's good I report that despite the change,
00:40 the communicated change of leadership
00:43 in the county assembly of Nairobi,
00:46 there was a court order stopping that process.
00:50 And so as a party, we have to respect that court order
00:55 because it was very clear that these changes
00:57 should not be affected until the case is heard and determined
01:02 and the members are in agreement
01:04 that there's need for us to obey that court order.
01:08 So our efforts today was an effort to see
01:11 whether we can actually create consensus out of court
01:16 and therefore have the case withdrawn eventually.
01:21 I must say that we've made quite some headway
01:25 in the sense that we've had the different groups,
01:29 the two teams ventilate and raise their concerns,
01:33 their issues, and I want to appreciate
01:36 that the members have been very, very truthful
01:39 and forthright as they made their submissions before us.
01:43 The other thing that is clear is that
01:48 the county assembly of the UTA side
01:54 really needs to work towards building consensus
01:57 and creating one cohesive team
02:00 that can be of benefit to the county assembly.
02:02 And we want to create an environment
02:05 that makes the party sensitive
02:09 and approachable to issues affecting their members.
02:14 So we do not want to rush into decisions
02:17 until we feel that we have been able to create
02:19 that environment where every member
02:23 feels appreciated and accepted and heard.
02:27 And so we will be coming back with a way forward,
02:30 but that is the situation as is today.

02:37, in the next two weeks,
02:42 we are going to have a solution in this.
03:07 At the moment, the county assembly is on recess,
03:09 but before they resume their sessions,
03:12 we are going to have an amicable solution to this conflict.
03:15 Otherwise, we want to implore upon both factions
03:19 to remain calm, to have confidence in the secretariat.
03:23 We are going to be as impartial as possible.
03:25 We are not going to favor any side.
03:27 We are going to follow the rule of law,
03:29 and we are going to open up doors
03:31 so that we can give each and every person
03:34 an opportunity to be heard.
