02:42 Bet Online, where the game starts and where we typically start is a look at the box score,
02:46 but we didn't have one this past week, thankfully.
02:49 The Panthers won.
02:50 You're not going to do that.
02:51 I saw a lot of memes saying the Panthers lost the bye week.
02:55 Like bye week 35, Panthers 16.
02:57 I was just like, "Oh."
02:58 How do you lose a bye week?
03:00 I don't know.
03:01 I mean, they technically lost a couple of players to IR, so I mean.
03:05 Yeah, let's-
03:06 They got one back.
03:07 Let's get into that.
03:08 So we got good news, bad news for you guys.
03:10 So good news, Austin Corbett, off of IR.
03:13 That's huge for the offensive line.
03:15 Offensive line feels like it's starting to come together a little bit.
03:18 And Corbett at that right guard position back kind of solidifies some things there.
03:22 The bad news, three guys put on IR today.
03:24 The biggest name, Jeremy Chen, out with what's been quoted as a significant quad injury.
03:30 So out six weeks.
03:31 Yotur Gros Matos out with a hammy.
03:33 And Giovanni Ricci out with a shoulder injury.
03:37 I had a question for both.
03:38 I was thinking about this during this past week.
03:41 Is it the guy- All the guys we have on IR right now, doesn't it feel like all of them
03:45 have some sort of lower leg injury, like hamstring or something to that effect, or the majority
03:50 of them?
03:51 Is that normal?
03:52 That and shoulder tissue.
03:53 That and shoulder stuff.
03:54 Yeah, hammies and shoulders.
03:55 What?
03:56 How does-
03:57 It's like all of them.
03:58 Every single one of them that's on IR.
03:59 I don't know if it's coincidence or something more sinister.
04:06 I don't know.
04:08 I would note too, Austin Corbett, the thing to watch with him is it's not guaranteed that
04:13 he will play Sunday.
04:15 So that's still something that we're up to kind of keep an eye on throughout the week.
04:19 He's been practicing.
04:20 He started off in limited.
04:22 He worked his way up to full.
04:24 But this week, they had to take him off the pup list or place him on IR, which would obviously
04:29 knock him out the next four games.
04:31 So they did that.
04:33 That's step one.
04:34 Now step two is whether or not he's going to be active or inactive on Sunday.
04:38 He could be a healthy scratch on Sunday just to give maybe another week to rest and recover.
04:45 So we'll see.
04:46 I think he should be.
04:47 Everything sounds like he's trending in the right direction.
04:49 So either way, whenever he comes back, it's going to be a huge, huge help to that offensive
04:55 line, certainly for Brazil.
04:57 Yeah, I totally agree.
04:58 As for the case of Jeremy Chin, Skjol-
05:03 Skjol?
05:04 How do you say it?
05:08 I think it's my name just put with a couple other letters in there.
05:11 We're just going to call him Skj.
05:13 Ain't like Chin was playing.
05:14 So which, hey, my man kind of got a point.
05:17 Jeremy Chin wasn't out there for some reason.
05:18 I feel like he's only playing like 30% of the snaps.
05:20 I don't know why that was happening, especially with the injuries.
05:24 You would think he would have got more playing time.
05:26 So I don't know how big of a-
05:28 It's really bad timing because if they were wanting to move him, I mean, I don't know
05:33 anybody that's going to really want to make that move now with him out.
05:36 You know what I mean?
05:37 Yeah.
05:38 Speaking of players looking to move right after we were done last week, obviously with
05:42 Terrence Marshall Jr. apparently seeking a trade.
05:47 Now last time this happened with the Panthers, it was Cam Newton involved in that.
05:50 And the media was like, I did not ask for a trade.
05:52 I did not ask to go seek for one.
05:55 This is crazy.
05:56 They're doing this.
05:57 You think they're doing this again just to put him out there?
05:59 Or is this Terrence really out there like, yo, somebody come get me?
06:03 I mean, it's hard to really tell.
06:05 I mean, Terrence didn't really talk about it on Monday.
06:10 Did kind of mention that he wanted to play more.
06:12 So I think it has something to do with it.
06:14 But both players aren't playing.
06:15 We're just going to call him SK.
06:16 SK.
06:17 SK on it today.
06:18 SK out here telling the truth.
06:19 He's telling the facts.
06:20 He's telling the truth.
06:21 But neither one of them are playing, so it's kind of hard to really gauge what they would
06:30 be trade-wise.
06:31 Do you guys think the Panthers are buyers or sellers here as the trade lines coming
06:35 up here soon, isn't it?
06:38 31st.
06:39 Yeah.
06:40 So in seven days, do you think the Panthers are going to be buyers or sellers?
06:43 What do you think, Stu?
06:46 Man, look, all I know is...
06:49 Don't sled me out here.
06:55 If I'm, you know, an organization such as the Panthers, you got to find ways to win.
07:01 You got to figure out what your mentality is going to be.
07:05 You got to figure out what your identity is going to be, because this is your first year
07:10 as a collective, right?
07:12 Mm-hmm.
07:13 So you still got, like, we've been saying this before, you know, they buy wheat.
07:19 You know, as hard as it is to hear, the Panthers hit the reset button when they changed coaching
07:28 staffs and got a rookie first-round draft pick and new players and new defense, a brand
07:37 new defense, right?
07:39 The scheme is different.
07:41 You might got guys out there that's never played in a scheme like this.
07:47 And then you got, you know, an offense and just a team collectively that's got some injuries,
07:53 right?
07:54 So you learn a lot about your depth.
07:57 And so if I'm an organization, anything's on the market.
08:02 I'm trying to think of what could they get without giving away, I don't want them to
08:09 give away any more draft collateral.
08:10 Like I understand, I'm fine with us not having a first-round pick, because that seems to
08:15 be the main issue Panther fans have right now.
08:18 They're fine with, oh, well, they're not fine with 0-6.
08:19 They're excited about getting that first-round pick.
08:20 Yeah, it's like, we don't even have a first-round pick.
08:24 Like, we can't get Peter Williams.
08:27 First-round picks don't necessarily make you like a Super Bowl contender, first of all.
08:33 One dude can change the fortunes.
08:35 I can tell you who I would want in the first-round pick next year is that tight end from Georgia.
08:40 Bowers, yeah.
08:41 Oh, yeah, Bowers.
08:43 Man, listen, you talk about teams that are balling with a tight end.
08:49 Listen, every team right now that's been making moves and making plays, been staying in the
08:54 game late.
08:55 They got them tight ends running up and down that field, catching balls over people's head.
09:02 They've got midgets guarding them.
09:04 I'm going to tell you why we mad, son.
09:07 I'm going to tell you why we mad, son.
09:08 Where's Hayden Hurst?
09:09 Where is he?
09:10 Where is Hayden Hurst?
09:11 Is he getting targeted?
09:13 It feels like they've saw him and then forgot.
09:16 They forgot he's here, because they're using, oh boy, instead, the other tight end.
09:21 Trimble?
09:22 Yeah, Trimble's getting Trimble.
09:23 Man, shoot.
09:24 Hey, listen, the way Trimble caught that ball and jumped over everybody's head, I love that.
09:30 Was that Christian McCaffrey?
09:31 That was like a C-Mac play.
09:33 Let's go.
09:34 The one thing people need to stop with is the whole draft pick thing and getting a first
09:39 round pick.
09:40 I may have mentioned it a couple of weeks ago.
09:43 It does not matter if you get a first round pick, number one, because like Stu just said,
09:49 you have no idea what that pick's going to be.
09:52 And second of all, you're going to give up all that just to move up maybe 10 to 12 spots
09:57 from where you would be picking early second round.
10:00 Because if you're trading Brian Burns away, he's going to a contender.
10:04 Everyone keeps forgetting this.
10:05 You're not trading Brian Burns to the Chicago Bears and you're getting the number two pick.
10:10 It's not happening.
10:11 You're going to be trading him to a team that is in the mix for the playoffs.
10:16 So that's a pick that's going to be in the back half of the first round.
10:19 And after the first 12, 15 picks, it's a crapshoot.
10:23 So it doesn't matter.
10:25 And I don't think that really draft picks really even matter a whole lot because you
10:32 just don't know about those guys.
10:33 They're not proven commodities.
10:35 Draft picks matter to certain teams.
10:38 If you're a team that doesn't have a lot of money to spend in the offseason and you definitely
10:42 need some help, you need to find a way to get draft picks.
10:46 But Caroline's going to have some cash to spend.
10:49 So it's not like they need to go out and get a first round pick or they need to go out
10:53 and get three or four more picks.
10:54 Sure, it helps, but it's not necessary.
10:56 I'm on the same tip.
10:59 Like I can't understand it.
11:00 People feel like us not having a first round pick this year is like condemning us to like
11:04 what you want to focus on.
11:05 You don't need more rookies.
11:06 Yeah, you need to focus on what you're going to be as a team.
11:11 What kind of identity are you going to be?
11:13 So that way you can showcase your identity the best you possibly can to this free agency
11:20 market that's going to be on display next year because you do have money to spend.
11:24 Because you can't just populate this roster with a bunch of 22, 23 year olds and expect
11:31 it to flip like that.
11:33 It's not going to work.
11:34 I'm not saying to go out there and sign each top free agent at each position, but you've
11:39 got to be able to at least make some more significant moves in free agency because you
11:43 have the money to spend and you're wanting to take that next step.
11:47 You're not going to take that next step by continuing to draft all these young cats.
11:51 Let me ask you both this, with having a young quarterback like Bryce Young, and I will say
11:55 this too, Caleb Williams and Drake May, they haven't been looking so good the past couple
12:00 of weeks.
12:01 Because I've been seeing that narrative too, that we could have waited a year and drafted
12:03 Caleb Williams.
12:05 I would still take Bryce Young over both of them right now from their ability to play
12:11 in big games, to be able to win them.
12:14 He's done pretty much everything that, well, Drake hasn't done probably any of this stuff.
12:19 Caleb Williams does have a high-
12:20 I'm taking the UW quarterback, Anshadu.
12:21 I thought you were going to say old Bo Nix.
12:22 35 year old Bo Nix.
12:23 Listen, Bo Nix, man.
12:24 He's doing his thing for Oregon, man.
12:25 Young Tim Tebow out there.
12:26 No, man, USC hasn't beat a ranked opponent.
12:39 And I don't know if Caleb Williams is going to be the number one pick.
12:42 Did you see the thing about him wanting equity in the team that drafts him and this other
12:47 nonsense?
12:48 Yeah, he needs to keep all that nonsense to himself.
12:49 He's shown his cards too hard.
12:51 He's shown his talent too soon.
12:53 He's showing his talent to the team, fellas.
12:56 Can we show you that?
12:57 You have to see it first.
12:58 Drama.
12:59 This is locker room, Marsh.
13:00 And then Drake, man.
13:01 Look, I haven't watched a Carolina football game all year because usually they're playing
13:05 around the same time A&T is in the afternoon and I'm producing.
13:07 So I haven't watched them and they were 6-0.
13:10 So I'm like, all right, I'm home.
13:11 I'm going to check this out.
13:12 It's prime time.
13:13 Shout out to the CW.
13:14 They had great production value on that game.
13:16 I was watching it over there on the Antanan.
13:18 It looked fantastic.
13:19 Carolina, 24-point favorites.
13:20 Loses at home to one and five Virginia on the one game I decided to watch this year.
13:28 And I feel like I mean you curse like a jinx them.
13:32 So I'm just like never.
13:33 Desmond Johnson is a basketball team.
13:36 He watches a UNC game football game.
13:42 They are bound to be defeated because he is cursed.
13:45 What's funny about that is we were coming back from the West Virginia game, right?
13:49 And my wife is like panicking.
13:51 She's like, I want to get back to watch Carolina games.
13:53 Like, you got to worry about that.
13:55 They're playing Virginia.
13:56 Virginia's look terrible.
13:57 They're going to be fine.
13:58 We get back to the hotel.
13:59 It's 24-14.
14:00 I'm like, see, you're fine.
14:03 I start doing our postgame show for the West Virginia thing.
14:06 All of a sudden, Virginia's up and they're getting ready to go and put the game away.
14:10 I don't know if you saw the ending.
14:11 We fumbled the ball through the end zone.
14:13 Yes.
14:14 If Virginia doesn't do that, that game's over right then and there.
14:17 And I was like, oh my gosh, they got a chance.
14:19 And she's like, what's going on?
14:20 I was like, well, they just got the ball because of touchback.
14:22 And I was like, well, sure, they're going to go right down the field and score.
14:24 It looked like they were going to.
14:25 That's not how it works.
14:26 That's not how it works.
14:27 I got a question for you.
14:29 Let's talk about these teams in the NFL that are winning games that if you were to say
14:36 in the beginning of the season, like I mean, the beginning of the season, like the first
14:41 two games of the season, these teams are out here smacking teams that should be winning
14:48 outside the head.
14:49 Man, listen.
14:50 Well, first of all, Baltimore got, I'll put Baltimore in a category of elite at this point
14:58 because of the way they just dogged the Detroit Lions.
15:01 They know who they are.
15:02 I know Lamar Jackson is.
15:04 So he went out there and did his thing.
15:08 He's him, but the Detroit Lions got smacked by the Baltimore Ravers.
15:11 They didn't lose.
15:12 They got smacked.
15:13 Okay.
15:14 And then the Patriots and New England Patriots.
15:18 This is why Matt.
15:19 Oh, I'm going to tell you why we mess up.
15:22 I'm going to tell you why we mess up.
15:25 Bill Belichick.
15:28 He just won't go away.
15:30 He just went 300.
15:32 He just does.
15:33 He just doesn't.
15:34 He just understands how to win football games.
15:38 I guess he really that guy, in my opinion, on the bills.
15:43 I think we've crowned the bills and we weren't supposed to crown them yet because they haven't
15:46 really done anything.
15:47 You know, I haven't crowned the bills, but like as far as like their team, as far as
15:51 their team, like they were supposed to win that game.
15:55 Oh, they were supposed to be.
15:56 They were supposed to beat the dog breaks out of the Patriots.
15:59 New England's awful.
16:00 Like they have no like talent at the skill positions, like really anywhere.
16:04 Like people don't want to make Jones.
16:05 Where are you supposed to go with the football?
16:07 I mean, like hats off to you got to applause.
16:12 I think I know where you're going with this.
16:14 I don't think I would pause by my son, like a bell or something.
16:19 Yeah, that's what's up.
16:21 What is it?
16:22 What is it?
16:23 There we go.
16:24 There we go.
16:25 Yeah.
16:26 Yeah.
16:27 Congratulations, Mike.
16:28 Tom.
16:29 I'm going to listen.
16:32 He got to go down as one of the coldest coaches to ever coach.
16:36 I don't know how they're doing this.
16:38 I have no idea how they do.
16:39 I was just looking at the standings at Pittsburgh is four and two.
16:43 They have been outscored by 24.
16:45 They are two and one.
16:46 They are two and one in the division.
16:48 Home to one away.
16:51 They're three.
16:52 My goodness.
16:53 Another round of applause.
16:55 Another round of applause.
16:56 Now, I hate I hate this team.
16:58 I hate them.
16:59 But Russell, Russell Wilson is out there doing his thing.
17:04 What is Denver doing?
17:05 As much hate he's been getting, he got, listen, he's going to get his roses now.
17:12 He ain't never going to get them.
17:14 Ain't no way, bro.
17:15 Ain't no way the team that we saw in the beginning of the year and the end of last
17:20 year is out here two and five.
17:23 OK?
17:24 Even the Bears.
17:25 I was about to say.
17:26 I know.
17:27 I know that's that.
17:28 Yeah, that that's the next topic here.
17:31 Now, see, I won't do this because I'm the running back position and I don't want to
17:35 sound any type of way.
17:38 Some of our Skyler Callahan to, you know, take the measure here of describing his pain
17:45 and his level of of of, you know, why he's upset.
17:51 But the Bears is two and five without Justin Fields with a quarterback that was balling.
17:58 OK, on Sunday, he was out there throwing him, throwing it.
18:02 All right.
18:03 You know, he is.
18:04 Skyler Callahan, can you please can you please aid me on your frustrations?
18:08 Yes, yes, I sure can.
18:12 So first of all.
18:15 Panthers related, right?
18:17 Certainly another Chicago win makes it more clear that the Panthers get that number one
18:24 pick potentially for now.
18:26 Right.
18:27 So that's the first thing.
18:28 Second thing is.
18:31 Why in the hell is Josh McDaniel still a head coach?
18:33 I'm going to tell you why we mess it up.
18:36 I'll tell you why we mess it.
18:38 This guy has had so many opportunities to be a coach.
18:40 Remember, he spurned the Colts and then they hired Frank Reich.
18:46 He got it.
18:47 He was in Denver.
18:48 He got the Denver job.
18:49 He was talked about maybe being Belichick's replacement.
18:51 He goes to the Raiders.
18:53 This guy is not a head coach.
18:56 He cannot win games.
18:59 Who's he just got beat?
19:00 Society by an undrafted free agent named Tyson Bajent that played at Division Two Shepherd
19:07 in West Virginia that didn't get recruited by anybody.
19:12 I know this kid's whole story.
19:13 He is really good.
19:14 I'll say he's got a chance to be one of those kind of underdog stories in the NFL.
19:19 Like a bro.
19:21 Maybe maybe.
19:22 But to be beaten by this kid in his first ever start as an undrafted free agent.
19:28 I mean, come on, man.
19:30 And not just get beat.
19:31 He got waxed by this Bears team.
19:34 Who's been a successful Belichick aid that's become a head coach?
19:38 Has there been any?
19:39 None of them.
19:40 Maybe.
19:41 I can't think of any off the top of my head.
19:44 Definitely not Patricia.
19:45 Definitely not judge.
19:46 No, you can't count saving college football.
19:50 Yeah, I feel miserably in Miami.
19:51 So is there one?
19:53 You know, is there is there someone that came from the Belichick tree, the coaching tree
19:57 that's actually a great question.
19:59 You know, someone someone in the car.
20:00 I must say Tom.
20:01 I must say Tom Brady because Tom Brady was a quarterback and a coach.
20:06 Brace whatever he wants to be at this point.
20:08 Oh man.
20:09 I was looking around, so I'm in the I was looking at the schedules and we've got to
20:16 believe in Texans host backstage.
20:18 We're going to bring them on in just a second here.
20:20 I'm trying to pull back up the standing so.
20:24 I know we're oh and six.
20:25 I only get to ahead of myself, but our division is still a hot mess.
20:30 Like it's just Atlanta.
20:31 The division four and three.
20:32 And then, you know, you can't trust Atlanta.
20:36 You can't.
20:37 I thought I saw a thing where we're like the highest scoring team.
20:40 Well, it's probably different now because it's Sunday.
20:42 But before Sunday, we were averaging the most points per game in the division, like 18 points
20:47 per game or something, which isn't exactly good, but that was more than the other three.
20:51 But we were oh and six or oh and five or whatever.
20:54 It's like, how's that possible?
20:58 Now I'm just looking through the tops of these divisions and I'm like, well, who stands out?
21:03 Because Detroit got embarrassed.
21:04 Like you said, San Francisco's on a two game losing streak right now.
21:08 We can just go with the Eagles.
21:10 Yeah.
21:11 Philly looks like they're getting really about to win the Super Bowl.
21:16 What did I tell you about Brock Perkins?
21:18 He come back down to earth.
21:19 I was not high on him at all.
21:22 What's that?
21:23 I mean, all the boys did the other night.
21:26 All they did was backpedal.
21:27 Yeah.
21:28 No, Debo.
21:29 That's all they did.
21:30 That hurt a lot.
21:31 I'm not even talking about that.
21:32 No, they were sitting.
21:34 They were sitting down there and that, you know, that drag lane throughout the whole
21:39 game.
21:40 And then all of a sudden I said, all right, let's backpedal.
21:41 Let's get this boy.
21:43 It felt like this was the week where the teams that we had been starting to push to the front
21:48 showed their vulnerabilities and came back to earth, except for like Kansas City, Philly,
21:55 Baltimore.
21:56 Like those three stood out to me as the ones where like, okay, they not only do they look
22:01 good Kansas City is on a six game win streak.
22:04 They've been winning since quietly.
22:05 They're under the radar somehow.
22:06 Unless well, how's that?
22:07 How's that?
22:08 But they're out there because of Taylor Swift.
22:09 Like that's why I don't even watch games.
22:10 See how my dog, my dog don't even like Taylor Swiss.
22:11 The Lions may have their warts, but I think they're, they're still a team that's going
22:24 to be in the, in the mix.
22:26 Yeah.
22:27 They're young, but yeah, they'll be in the mix too.
22:28 But yeah, I think, I think the Eagles are the ones in the NFC to, to beat it ain't Atlanta.
22:33 That's what I'm saying.
22:34 They're talking about mentioned a Desmond Ritter.
22:36 So shout out.
22:37 Oh, by the way, Skylar, I thought she was going to touch on this before we go.
22:43 Shout out to the hat trick by Deontay Foreman.
22:45 Oh yeah.
22:46 Duh.
22:47 Let me go ahead and I didn't realize it was one year, 2 million.
22:54 That's all.
22:55 I mean, we just paid him.
22:56 Like, meanwhile, we're sitting here, we just paid 26 million or whatever to a guy.
23:01 We're wondering if we need to sit.
23:02 Hold on.
23:03 We don't, we don't need to sit the guy.
23:07 Come on.
23:08 I want you to start.
23:09 I'm a hundred percent Chuba Hubbard right now.
23:14 Like I get that boy.
23:15 Chuba is a dog.
23:16 I tell you that.
23:17 I love the way he runs.
23:20 I'm hoping that Miles saw that and was like, yo, I could do that too.
23:25 And to start, Oh, that was something I was going to ask you before we even bring in the
23:29 Texans guys.
23:30 You, I was telling a friend, they were asking, could they do a dual back thing with Miles
23:35 and Chuba?
23:36 I was like, if there's anybody in the world that would be able to tell you if they could
23:40 run a dual back system with these two guys is the guy right here.
23:43 And Jay Stu, who did it not only with DeAngelo Williams, but you also did it with Christian
23:48 McCaffrey.
23:49 Are they complimentary enough to run it like that?
23:51 Or is it going to be more of a traditional three down back and a guy comes in on passing
23:55 situations type stuff?
23:57 No, I think that, you know, they, well, they both, I feel like Chuba can catch out of the
24:03 backfield.
24:04 They've been utilizing him that as the season has started, right?
24:08 Third down, he comes in.
24:10 But what you're seeing is that Chuba, you know, in this scheme, he's capable of, you
24:16 know, running downhill, making one cut and getting upfield.
24:21 That's kind of his MO.
24:22 And that's what he's really good at.
24:25 And that's one of the things that stood out to me last year as far as his development.
24:30 Now, I believe that, you know, Sanders can do the same thing.
24:36 But there's a, there's a, there's a feature that Sanders has, which is his, his agility,
24:42 right?
24:43 And, you know, being able to escape certain instances, certain instances.
24:48 The problem is, is that, you know, the offensive line was that we've been having and blocking.
24:54 It's kind of hard to get the guy in space.
24:56 And so once we can develop, you know, some players to where we get these guys in space,
25:02 that's when we'll really be able to see their true talents and what they can bring to the
25:06 table.
25:07 I think right now with what we got going on, Chuba is going to fit the mix because if you're
25:12 struggling with the offensive line, you need somebody that's going to go in there and run
25:14 up, run up behind somebody's back, which is what I did.
25:20 Very well.
25:21 And Panda Promise QS Panda says, did you see DeAndre Hopkins is available for trade?
25:26 Would you stay away?
25:30 Stay away.
25:31 Yeah, right now.
25:32 If he's available for trade, then he's not doing what that team signed him for.
25:37 So I mean, if they, if they'll take a 20, 33, seventh, yeah.
25:41 I don't know what I would even do.
25:44 20, 33, 20, 33.
25:45 I mean, that's that kid.
25:46 That kid's in like 10 years.
25:47 He's 10 years old.
25:48 You just took a bag of ice that melted on a hot day and you threw mayonnaise in there.
26:05 And then you just poured it all over DeAndre Hopkins.
26:11 That's that's quite the vision.
26:13 We bring in the guys from Believe in Texans here.
26:17 We got Harley and we got Ruben in the house from Believe in Texans, co-hosts there on
26:23 the Believe podcast networks.
26:24 My friend, let me take down this, this Believe thing here.
26:29 Here we go.
26:30 What's going on fellas?
26:31 What's up boys?
26:32 So dig the, dig the shirts.
26:33 Yeah, man.
26:34 I like that.
26:35 Thank you.
26:36 Thank you.
26:37 You are, you are, you are Hawaiian?
26:43 No I'm not, but I mean I rock it.
26:45 I've been rocking it.
26:46 Everyone liked it whenever I went to the draft party three years ago.
26:51 And ever since then I've been, I've been wearing it.
26:53 So I like the look now.
26:55 So this is, so this, I don't know if they're talking about this at Houston, but here this
27:02 has been kind of crowned the, the top picks bowl or whatever.
27:05 One versus two.
27:06 It's the first time Bryce Young faces CJ Stroud.
27:10 You guys have gotten six games of CJ.
27:13 Our fans are delirious about CJ.
27:15 They feel like we made the wrong pick because he came out of the gate stronger than Bryce.
27:18 Yada, yada, yada, yada.
27:20 If we had to, and we'll go around the round table here because we want to pepper you guys
27:23 on some questions about the Texans as we go into this game on Sunday.
27:27 I'll kick it off.
27:28 What's the one thing that you do not like that CJ Stroud does?
27:33 Wow.
27:34 I'm going to hit you with the hard ones over here.
27:43 I mean, you're talking about a guy who's done everything right since, you know, since being
27:47 drafted here.
27:48 I mean, maybe not use his legs, but that's about it.
27:53 CJ shot has been everything as advertised, man.
27:57 He doesn't run like he, he, he just, he can, he just, you know, chooses not to, he chooses
28:03 to stay, stay back and sling that thing.
28:04 And if he needs to run, he can.
28:07 But other than that, man, there's not much to complain about.
28:09 I was going to say that doesn't sound like a bad thing.
28:11 He's been settled.
28:12 He got some good offensive linemen.
28:13 Uh huh.
28:14 You don't have to run.
28:15 Well, we've had four out of our five starting offensive linemen out.
28:23 Lermie Tunsell with a knee issue, missed multiple weeks.
28:26 We lost our left guard, Kenyon Green for the year.
28:29 Our center, Juice Scruggs, who we traded up for in the second round.
28:32 We haven't seen him since the training camp and our right tackle, Titus Howard broke his
28:37 hand in training camp.
28:38 So we've had multiple weeks where four out of the five old linemen who are supposed to
28:44 be our starters haven't been there.
28:46 So you're telling me that y'all got depth.
28:49 We got debt.
28:50 That's coaching, man.
28:51 That's so much in depth.
28:52 I feel like we're in class today.
28:53 Like, Panthers fans are going to be feeling all sorts of ways after this.
28:59 I'll ask you guys this, not knowing what you know now, go back to the draft process, go
29:08 back to last February, last March.
29:11 If you were Caroline and you had that number one pick, who are you taking?
29:16 I mean, me and Ruben both said it.
29:19 We wanted Bryce Young.
29:21 I'm guilty.
29:22 I don't mean, duh.
29:24 I'm not like, I'm going to be more wrong than I am right.
29:27 When I'm on here and I hit record, like, so, you know, I don't care, man.
29:31 I wanted Bryce Young.
29:32 I thought he was going to be a legit quarterback.
29:35 And despite-
29:36 Hold on, he's six games.
29:37 Y'all are talking as if he's not.
29:38 Like, hold on, hold on a second.
29:39 It's a right now.
29:40 Yeah, okay, okay.
29:41 Okay.
29:42 In the perspective of right now.
29:45 He definitely still has a long career ahead of him, hopefully, you know, for Panthers
29:49 fans' sakes, hopefully.
29:51 But in terms of just a six game perspective, it just hasn't looked that way, man.
29:55 It's like, now everyone's like, oh, you're wrong, you know, like, dude, man, I'm just
29:59 a dude that's just looking at stats at the moment.
30:02 Yeah, that's my opinion.
30:03 And it's just absolutely amazing.
30:05 And it's been, that's why it's so tough to answer that first question.
30:08 Because like Ruben said, all the offensive linemen that have been out of this lineup,
30:13 we've had not only our backups, we've had guys from the practice squad come up and play
30:17 against the Steelers, Austin Dekulis of all people, a seventh round pick two years ago,
30:23 just comes in and zero sacks.
30:25 It's like, okay, I guess anyone could just come in here and do whatever the hell they
30:29 want.
30:30 And CJ's exponentially grown week after week after week.
30:35 Kudos to coaching as well.
30:36 So here's my thing too.
30:38 If you go back to when I ranked the quarterbacks, I had CJ as my number one guy.
30:42 You did.
30:43 Really, the only knock I had on Bryce was the same knock everyone else had, was his
30:48 size.
30:49 We haven't really talked about his size being an issue yet.
30:51 That's why I still think when the Panthers figure out these issues, we're going to see
30:56 Bryce Young succeed.
30:58 But here's my other thing too.
31:00 If you put CJ Stroud in the same situation, I don't know that it's much better.
31:04 I don't think anybody is going to succeed what this situation is going on.
31:08 Well, I was told at the beginning of the season that the Panthers, I'm sorry, that the Houston
31:15 Texans were in a worse situation than the Carolina Panthers.
31:22 I think I'd agree with that too.
31:24 With the injuries and the lack of identity, I think in Frank Reich just balancing way
31:30 too much stuff on one plate, I think that has probably made the Panther situation a
31:35 little worse.
31:36 But again, that's a credit to Houston too because of how well they've coached these
31:40 guys up.
31:41 So what Domeika Rhymes is doing down there is unbelievable.
31:44 Yeah, hats off to your coaching, man.
31:48 Coaching and the depth that they put together in the offseason, understanding what they
31:52 was trying to achieve.
31:53 I do have a question.
31:54 What's up with y'all running game?
31:59 That's the biggest question that we do have.
32:03 We were expecting this running game to be the focal point of the offense.
32:08 And then you're running back Damian Pierce and then you get Devin Singletary in the offseason.
32:14 So this was the first time in a long time fans felt very comfortable and excited for
32:19 this running game.
32:20 But it's just not there.
32:22 And after this Saints game, we are having some questions about Damian Pierce.
32:26 He split carries with Devin Singletary.
32:29 And now we are wondering, are there going to be games down the line where Singletary
32:33 starts in front of Damian Pierce?
32:36 Is this a thing where he's missing holes or he's just not running hard?
32:40 Or is it the offensive line being secondary?
32:42 You got your starters aren't in there.
32:47 Maybe they missing assignments.
32:49 What are you seeing there?
32:50 I think as a whole, it's a collective issue.
32:54 I'm still having a lot of faith in Damian Pierce.
32:56 He backed some strong senior bowl performance with him in Florida.
33:01 So I mean, I'm not going to just, a lot of Texans fans here in Houston are kind of like,
33:08 who cares?
33:09 Just put Devin Singletary.
33:10 He's not a scheme fit, all this good stuff.
33:14 I think it's a collective unit.
33:16 Sure, he's not hitting holes.
33:17 It does look like at times on film, he's looking towards contact instead of the green grass.
33:24 But it sounds a lot easier speaking from watching a video compared to being on the field.
33:31 So I just think it's a collective unit.
33:34 The offensive line, yeah, there is some issues there where they're not creating the holes
33:39 that are necessary.
33:40 And it's also an issue that you have backup to third string offensive linemen.
33:46 Sure, it's great in the passing game, but maybe not so much for the run game and Damian
33:51 Pierce.
33:52 It's been very stagnant here in Houston in terms of running the ball.
33:55 So you guys are three and three on the season, going into week seven to this road game for
34:03 you guys against the Panthers.
34:04 You've outscored your opponents by 22 points so far this season.
34:09 Two and one at home, one and two on the road, one and one in the division.
34:13 You guys are right in the thick of things.
34:14 And really, outside of Jacksonville, it feels like, have you guys even started thinking
34:22 about beyond the regular season?
34:25 Do you feel like you have enough?
34:27 Absolutely.
34:28 Absolutely.
34:29 And what's crazy is at this point last year, we were already saying that the Houston Texans
34:34 season was over.
34:36 Now we are talking about this young team potentially making the playoffs.
34:42 When you look at the rest of our schedule, it's not as difficult.
34:47 And you might see the Houston Texans go on a run here, but playoffs is definitely something
34:52 we talked about.
34:55 Yeah.
34:56 Go ahead.
34:57 Go ahead.
34:58 Go ahead.
34:59 No, you go.
35:00 Go ahead.
35:01 Three and three at the moment, just to wrap it up simply.
35:05 Looking ahead of the schedule, our schedule is pretty favorable, just in terms of win-loss
35:09 ratio according to the rest of the opponents and performances.
35:13 The Houston Texans, to me, now it's gotten to the point of as long as number seven is
35:18 out there, it doesn't matter who you got out there.
35:21 You've won without Tank Dell.
35:22 You've won without many people that have been injured.
35:26 As long as number seven's healthy and he's your QB, every Sunday, you got a chance to
35:31 win the game.
35:32 100%.
35:33 I'm going to open it up to the fans, too.
35:35 That's a good feeling.
35:38 Yeah.
35:39 Tank, any fans that are watching right now that want to ask Reuben and Harley a question
35:44 about the Texans or this matchup on Sunday, just type it into the comment section here.
35:47 With this being live, I'll find it, put it up on the screen, and we'll address it then.
35:52 Go ahead, guys.
35:53 Tank Dell is a guy I loved watching when he was at University of Houston.
35:58 I had a feeling he was going to be something special in the NFL.
36:03 But the one question I always like to ask other publishers or other broadcasters when
36:09 you're talking about game previews, what's one guy that nobody from Carolina probably
36:14 knows about in Houston that they need to know about?
36:17 We'll give you one of ours, too.
36:20 You want to start with that, Reuben?
36:21 You want me to go?
36:22 On the defensive side, I would say linebacker Blake Cashman.
36:29 He just won AFC Defensive Player of the Week against the New Orleans Saints, 14 plus tackles,
36:36 two tackles for loss.
36:37 Arturo, shout out to you, brother.
36:40 Thank you for invading the Panther stream.
36:42 Again, shout out to the H-Town Faithful.
36:44 But no, Blake Cashman has an interception on the season as well.
36:49 Very underrated linebacker, but he is one player that you guys need to keep your eye
36:53 on.
36:54 Guys, who would that be for us that's active, that's not injured, that will play Sunday?
37:04 That list is like this.
37:05 I know.
37:06 I just squashed it all the way down to about a list of five guys.
37:08 Oh, my gosh.
37:09 I don't know.
37:10 We'll just get two.
37:11 Who's that guy?
37:12 I don't know.
37:13 I don't know Frankie Louvu.
37:14 Y'all know who he is.
37:15 It's not like it's going to be a surprise if Frankie has 10 tackles or whatever.
37:17 I don't even know if Frankie's playing.
37:18 He's got a hip injury.
37:19 I don't know.
37:22 Who would that be?
37:23 Do we have one?
37:24 Do we have one?
37:25 I'll say he may not be a star level player, but Sam Franklin is playing particularly well.
37:32 Troy Hill's playing pretty well, too.
37:35 Since he stepped up, Sam Franklin was just a premier special teams guy for the last three
37:39 years.
37:40 He's one of the best special teamers out there, but with Von Bell and Xavier Woods being hurt,
37:44 he's gotten some time at safety and he's played considerably well.
37:50 This is a guy that's kind of on the same lane, but hasn't got that much burn.
37:55 I'd say Raheem Blackshear.
38:00 To this day, I think he's a guy that can run the ball with the mindset of get out the way,
38:09 even though his size don't say it.
38:12 That's something that I would like to see as the season goes on.
38:14 I would like to see him tilt the rock a little bit more.
38:17 Give him six tires a game.
38:21 It might change the tone of a lot of things.
38:25 We would have definitely loved to see it against the Miami Dolphins at some point in the game.
38:30 I just feel like when you go through games, when you go through a season like what the
38:34 Panthers are going through and what the Houston Texans have experienced in the past, you need
38:42 those sparks in certain games, especially where you might have a chance.
38:46 If you have a guy that's out there that can be a guy that's grateful to be out there,
38:52 going to work hard, going to run hard, going to do all the things necessary, hard, get
38:59 that guy out there and spark the offense, spark the whole team.
39:03 I'm always going to ride with him.
39:05 So shout out to Raheem.
39:06 Raheem is he.
39:07 For me, I'm not going to go with a player.
39:08 I'm going to go offensive coordinator, Thomas Brown, because we have no idea what offense
39:17 you're about to see.
39:18 We literally don't.
39:19 It could be similar to what's been out there the past six weeks.
39:22 Triple option, baby.
39:23 It could be four birds all day.
39:26 We have no idea.
39:27 Thomas Brown taking over the play calling.
39:29 Although I did hear an interesting theory, Stu and Skyler, what if it's like the Marvel
39:35 what if combos?
39:37 What if Frank Wright was never calling the place?
39:40 It's always been Thomas Brown.
39:41 That's why it looks so vanilla because he's never done it before.
39:44 But they said it was Frank Wright to keep the heat off of Thomas Brown.
39:47 They always meant to say round by week.
39:49 Okay, he's going to call the place, but he's always been calling the place.
39:52 And the reason why this has come up, how many times have you seen Frank Wright actually
39:56 calling in a play from the sideline that you can recall?
40:01 I don't really pay attention, but some conspiracy theories are a little car thing.
40:06 I'm talking on the mic.
40:07 I don't recall him ever doing that.
40:08 So I'm like, well, when is it?
40:09 Desmond, you better leave that alone.
40:10 I'm just not.
