00:00 I wanna see this on blogs, I wanna see this on Facebook.
00:04 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most unique and interesting runway categories
00:10 from RuPaul's Drag Race and its all-stars variation.
00:13 I have blue tears coming directly out of my eyes. I can't see anything except for Cyan.
00:19 Number 20. Angelic White.
00:22 This proved that even the simplest ideas can garner the most gorgeous results.
00:26 After the roast and fake funeral of Lady Bunny, Ru decided to continue the bit by having everybody hit the stage in their most angelic attire.
00:33 Category is Angelic White.
00:36 There was no shortage of spectacular white gowns, and everyone who wore one looked beautiful.
00:41 However, a few queens added their unique spin.
00:44 Naomi Smalls stunned in a prince-inspired look, complete with a guitar,
00:48 while Monet exchanged wild the judges in an extraordinary pope-like outfit.
00:52 It even came with a long train and bedazzled miter.
00:56 Just goes to show that no matter how straightforward the prompt seems,
00:59 some queens will find a way to make it their own.
01:02 America, I am giving you Angelic White realness, serving you Josephine Baker, mixed with Michael the Archangel.
01:11 It's beautiful.
01:12 Number 19. Wigs on Wigs on Wigs.
01:16 Damn, girl. Somebody just graduated from the Lace Front Institute of Technology.
01:21 L-I-T. It's lit.
01:24 This category isn't just fun, it's also apparently a reference to season 5's Whip My Hair lip sync
01:29 when Roxy Andrews delivered a sickening wig reveal.
01:32 The All-Stars 3 competitors were tasked with showing off their own surprise hair,
01:36 ranging from straightforward to hilarious.
01:38 Aja in particular had the genius idea to hold up a cutout of giant anime hair,
01:43 before dropping it to uncover her wigs.
01:45 Meanwhile, Trixie Mattel and Bendelecrem opted to display new outfits along with their hair pieces.
01:50 And who could forget the campy delight that was Shangela coming out as an ear of corn?
01:55 Overall, it was a fun twist and the perfect homage to a classic moment from the show.
01:59 Corn is something that will forever be associated with me.
02:03 Look, I'm from the country and I keep it real.
02:05 Nothing says that better than corn.
02:07 Number 18. Chaps on the Runway.
02:10 Chaps can somehow make even the simplest look seem trendy,
02:13 and the queens definitely showcased how to infuse them with both chicness and sexiness.
02:18 The main standout was Lady Camden,
02:20 who pretended to trip and lose her wig, only to reveal a mustache instead.
02:25 That she was able to take such a prompt and give it an iconic reveal
02:40 is a testament to her undeniable creativity.
02:43 Of course, everyone else came through in Slate as well.
02:45 Diabetty's business suit and Bosco's hippie-inspired garb
02:48 showed the versatility of Chaps as an accessory that can complement everything.
02:52 This theme allowed everyone to feel comfortable and confident in themselves,
02:56 which is an automatic win in our book.
02:58 Number 17. Night of a Thousand RuPaul's.
03:11 While there have been many Night of a Thousand categories on the show,
03:15 the original honored the diva herself, RuPaul.
03:18 This theme not only allowed each queen to model their own version of an iconic Ru look,
03:22 it also provided the audience with insight into the host's history.
03:26 A majority opted for her well-known dresses while slightly tweaking them.
03:36 Bianca in particular pointed out that she was dressed as an age-appropriate version of the star.
03:41 However, it was Milk who blew everyone out of the water
03:50 by daring to wear a suit and bald cap to portray workroom Ru.
03:54 While she got some pushback, Milk's normalization of traditional masculine garments
03:59 allowed future queens to confidently rock pants of their own.
04:02 Number 16. The Color Purple.
04:05 Themes centered around colors are always stunning,
04:08 and what better choice than that of royalty?
04:10 This season 12 challenge showed how just one hue could inspire people in different ways.
04:15 There were so many different representations of the color and drag itself.
04:19 We had gorgeous garments like Jada Essence Hall's
04:21 that showed just how polished pageant drag can be.
04:24 On the flip side, Gigi pulled off a stellar reference to Daphne from Scooby-Doo,
04:28 while Jackie Cox stood out as a fashionable version of the purple people eater.
04:32 The first thing I think of when I hear the word purple is that song.
04:36 The one-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people eater.
04:39 I'm having a lot of fun with it.
04:41 Each interpretation showed off a different facet of the art form,
04:44 speaking to how valid and sickening they all are.
04:47 Regardless of the creative direction they took,
04:49 every single queen looked drop-dead gorgeous.
04:52 Number 15. The Pleather Principal.
04:55 The all-winter season was a fashion showcase,
04:58 and the Pleather Principal runway was just the tip of the iceberg.
05:01 When one thinks of pleather, they may think of classic leather jackets or pants.
05:05 However, it was clear from the beginning that these queens were not taking the easy route.
05:10 This week on the runway, I wanted to serve something from my inner child.
05:15 I was obsessed with anime growing up.
05:18 Twinning!
05:19 Whether they went for bright, vivid colors or a darker palette,
05:22 these legends presented a set of seductive and stylish outfits.
05:26 Clearly, everyone had polished their aesthetics to a T,
05:29 and it was genuinely inspiring to be able to witness their growth in real time.
05:33 This runway was the perfect introduction to All-Stars 7,
05:36 pairing perfectly with the strong snatch game that preceded it
05:38 to give us one of the season's most beloved episodes.
05:41 It's so wonderful to be here.
05:44 It's wonderful to be anywhere, really.
05:47 You know, I've been dead for quite some time.
05:51 Number 14. Animal Kingdom Couture.
05:55 The Animal Kingdom is vast, and many of the creatures within it are naturally patterned.
06:00 This makes it a fantastic concept for a runway category.
06:03 Each contestant showcased their creativity by donning costumes
06:06 which transformed them into different creatures.
06:08 Critters of all sizes were represented, from elephants to flies,
06:12 offering everyone a chance to step outside their comfort zones.
06:15 Michelle, I didn't want to say this, but there's an elephant in the room.
06:18 Yes.
06:19 Bianca drifted from her regular aesthetic,
06:22 adopting a fierce leopard look with matching face paint,
06:24 while Trinity stunned in a phoenix-inspired ensemble.
06:27 But it was Courtney Act who topped the spectacle
06:29 with a massive pair of eagle wings that fanned out at the perfect moment.
06:33 Wow. Look at the size of those wings.
06:35 Yes. Prepare for takeoff.
06:38 It's times like this that demonstrate why season 6 was so well-loved.
06:42 Number 13. Elegance After Dark.
06:45 A classic elegant gown will never go out of fashion.
06:48 The girls got to show off their sophisticated style
06:51 as they sauntered down the runway in gorgeous dresses.
06:53 They all managed to adjust it to their own personal style,
06:56 such as Trinity the Tuck's hip cutouts and Naomi Small's avant-garde edge.
07:00 This is Naomi Small serving you very VIP heavy metal reflective.
07:06 Now I know where my car sunscreens went.
07:09 Mo Hart even incorporated an equally stunning nude illusion.
07:12 However, even those who kept things simple were still dressed to the nines.
07:16 It was an opportunity for everyone to maximize their joint slay,
07:19 and they definitely succeeded.
07:22 Baby, I'm serving old Hollywood glam.
07:25 Feeling my elegance, eleganza, extravaganza.
07:29 This being an all-star season meant that everyone got to show
07:32 how much their eye for style had evolved since their original appearance on the show.
07:36 Number 12. Bearded and Beautiful.
07:39 After Milk's surprising beard reveal in season 6,
07:42 RuPaul asked her queens to lend their own glamour to facial hair.
07:45 Oh, dear. Now I've heard of a Milk mustache, but...
07:50 Honey.
07:52 Trixie Mattel took the opportunity to blend the romance of a mythical goddess
07:55 with a beard ripped straight from Jesus.
07:57 Mrs. Kasha Davis rocked an intriguingly androgynous outfit,
08:00 while Violet Tchotchke's retro look questioned traditional gender imagery.
08:04 Though Kennedy's scruff was a bit rugged,
08:06 Jasmine Masters decided to just draw a stubble on her face.
08:09 Spacey creations like Kandi Ho's avant-garde Fu Manchu and Pearl's crimson shards
08:14 also lent some surreal qualities to the week's selections.
08:17 An update on a once-criticized outfit decision showed ingenuity from contestants
08:21 and open minds from the judges.
08:23 I am trying so hard to remain elegant with this beard,
08:27 but I am selling it. Who knew I was the model?
08:30 Number 11. Mermaid Fantasy.
08:33 Mermaids are some of the most alluring and enigmatic mythological entities,
08:37 making them the perfect inspiration for a runway category.
08:40 My mermaid look is heavy metal and reflective.
08:43 I am spray-painted, I am sequins, I am every girly thing that I would usually avoid,
08:49 but I just want it to feel full of fantasy.
08:51 To keep the fantasy, everyone wore a tail and was pushed down the runway in a wheelchair.
08:56 You'd think that this would diminish their presentations,
08:59 but instead, it made the small details pop even more.
09:02 Asia O'Hara made a splash, literally, with her fish mask,
09:05 and Aquaria showed a dark yet realistic depiction of a modern mermaid caught in an oil spill.
09:10 This look brought to you by the Exxon Valdez. Black gold. Texas tea.
09:15 Queens like Cameron Michaels, on the other hand, opted to display the classic beauty of these fictional characters.
09:20 Regardless of the route they took, they all served in their own way
09:24 and definitely made the undersea beauties proud.
09:27 Number 10. What's Your Sign?
09:29 This is a fan favorite, and it's clear to see why.
09:32 The contestants had the opportunity to showcase their interpretation
09:36 of their respective zodiac signs on the main stage.
09:38 Goats are very agile, and that's very much my personality. I thrive in rough terrain.
09:43 With 12 different options available, the queens certainly had a large pool to choose from.
09:48 Even if a sign was repeated, it still managed to be translated differently.
09:52 Each competitor demonstrated an impressive attention to detail,
09:55 highlighting just how much thought and care they put into the theme.
09:59 Vanessa Vanjie Mateo stole the spotlight in her Libra regalia,
10:02 complete with a giant scale hanging from her head.
10:05 Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, Libra.
10:08 Now this is a balanced look.
10:10 The category was so well-received that some fans can't help but hope it'll be recycled,
10:14 or should we say, "Ru-cycled," in a future season.
10:17 Number 9. Club Kid Couture.
10:19 It's always a treat when the show references another facet of LGBTQIA+ culture.
10:24 Club kids are a staple in the community's history,
10:27 with RuPaul herself having been one in her youth.
10:29 They had an influence on, like, every type of drag.
10:32 Beauty drag, pageant drag, it all has, I think, felt the legacy of the club kids.
10:37 They were known for their eclectic and fashion-forward attire,
10:40 so to say that people were excited about it is an understatement.
10:43 The queens themselves were ecstatic,
10:46 and even discussed the performers' importance to not only the club scene,
10:49 but fashion in general.
10:51 It was an underground party culture that really pushed the boundaries of queer aesthetics.
10:57 It didn't just shift drag, it shifted fashion.
10:59 On the main stage, they each showed off their rendition of The Assignment,
11:03 and the result was everything.
11:05 Each was an homage to the subculture in some way,
11:08 with standouts including Shay's Lee Bowery-inspired attire and Peppermint,
11:12 who incorporated her own name into her overall presentation.
11:16 Number 8. Two Looks in One.
11:18 Violet Chachki's outfit within an outfit on season 7 shocked Carson Kressley,
11:23 and spawned a runway theme driven by reveals.
11:26 Looking smart and tartan.
11:27 Getting a reveal.
11:29 Oh, God.
11:30 Oh!
11:31 Bay City roller.
11:33 Whereas most queens merged two costumes,
11:35 Detox evolved a short dress into a coat and then a club-ready unitard.
11:40 Oh, yes!
11:43 Oh, and there's more.
11:45 Every time I step on the runway, I want it to be something different.
11:47 I want to blow them away.
11:49 Oh!
11:51 And that's the fun of drag to me.
11:53 Roxy Andrews followed a Spanish theme with her flamenco look,
11:56 which she transformed into a Latina pop star ensemble.
11:59 Oh!
12:00 Selena in the house.
12:02 Hello!
12:03 Anybody knows anything about a reveal?
12:05 She, me, her, she does!
12:07 I'm serving Latina diva on this runway.
12:10 The combat-ready look from Fifi only got fancier when it burst into a gold ball gown.
12:15 That's a nice ascot.
12:17 Ah, yes!
12:19 I'm super proud of this look.
12:21 I came up with the design myself, and I feel gorgeous.
12:24 Selena's nightmarish mass of black cloth left the panel lost for words
12:28 until she emerged as Lil' Poundcake.
12:31 [laughing]
12:33 It's Lil' Poundcake!
12:35 [laughing]
12:37 Whether it was motif consistency or unexpectedly perfect combinations,
12:41 everyone had their own take on this theme.
12:43 I'm ready for my close-up.
12:45 Oh!
12:46 Oh, my God!
12:48 Girl, please, I've taken selfie to a whole 'nother level.
12:51 Paparazzi who?
12:52 Oh, I see why you love me, darling.
12:54 Number seven, fantasy hair extravaganza.
12:57 The first two rounds of Rue's hair-themed fashion show were pretty standard,
13:01 and their locks simply accented certain styles.
13:04 I have a powdered wig going.
13:06 I have my little, like, curls on the side.
13:08 And I'm feeling fierce.
13:10 And the judges are living.
13:11 Oh, look at all the cameos.
13:13 And look at the candelabra in her hair.
13:15 The last category, however, asked for an outfit made out of wigs.
13:18 The sheer range of colors and candy-inspired details from Raja was totally unbelievable.
13:23 There was plenty of buzz around Manila's bee costume,
13:26 and Shangela's ragged warrior had its own furry weapon.
13:29 Giada Sofia went above and beyond with her hairy bra,
13:32 and she gave new meaning to poodle skirts.
13:35 It's like a scorpion on the top.
13:38 I feel so fabulous.
13:40 Sofia's additional leaning beehive and curly purse also left us gagging.
13:45 All these outside-the-box interpretations on the fantasy hair extravaganza wowed judges as much as viewers.
13:51 Thighs wide open.
13:53 Yes, hunty. Wild, wild west.
13:56 Miss Kitty never looked so good.
13:59 Number six, post-apocalyptic.
14:01 Season four had an impressive start, thanks to a challenge that mixed garbage with a lot of glam.
14:06 You've got three minutes to grab what you can and avoid being eaten alive.
14:11 Lashawn Bion's towering hat was only outdone by her elegantly stitched dress.
14:15 There was a regal power to Fifi's garb that was reminiscent of a Tina Turner look.
14:19 Willem shredded a predictable beauty queen getup to make it look like she'd escaped an explosion.
14:24 Though Chad and Milan delivered style, no one could hold a candle to Sharon Needle's stellar disco zombie.
14:30 While it could have been as silly as the derelict fashion line from Zoolander,
14:34 the post-apocalyptic category inspired some of the fiercest looks we've seen across the entire franchise.
14:40 The best part was slowly letting out a giant mouth full of fake blood all over my body.
14:46 And that's when I really saw Rue's eyebrow raise.
14:49 Number five, all glowed up.
14:51 When the all-winner season was first announced, the expectations for everyone's style were already high.
14:57 This idea took those expectations and exceeded them.
15:00 For this episode, the queens got to strut the stage in glow-in-the-dark ensembles,
15:04 resulting in one of the most elevated runways ever.
15:07 Seeing the transformation from a seemingly normal outfit to a radiant display of bright lights was truly breathtaking.
15:13 "I'm serving you nothing but the brightest, most sickening mermaid fantasy."
15:18 "I'm glowing like I were working in Vegas selling you on Treasure Island."
15:23 A couple even incorporated the bulbs into their wigs, creating a more immersive experience.
15:28 Each individual concept was meticulously thought out and perfectly executed.
15:32 But we have to shout out Jinx, whose historical reference to the witch trials left an indelible mark.
15:37 "So while I am a witch being burned alive, I'm going to show that flames don't hurt me and do not diminish my power."
15:47 Suffice it to say, there wasn't a single boot to be found among this lineup of champions.
15:52 Number four, half-man, half-queen.
15:55 With the feminine focus that usually goes into Drag Race,
15:59 the half-man, half-queen theme pushed everyone to up the testosterone levels.
16:04 "For the first time in Drag Race herstory, you'll be decked out in half-man and half-queen drag."
16:12 For Ginger Minj's Western aesthetic, this meant tassels, rhinestones, and facial hair that stopped right down the middle of her face.
16:19 While Trixie Mattel's cowboy didn't tie in well with her cowgirl,
16:22 each character was beautifully defined when she was filmed in profile.
16:26 Kennedy did a great job contrasting each gender, and Pearl used her makeup to create a visual split between her roles.
16:32 Violet was one of the few contestants to wear opposing footwear, and her mustache was a simple but effective touch.
16:38 The dance challenge highlighted the strengths of each appearance as well, bringing some extra fun to this gender-bending episode.
16:44 Number three, Hello Kitty.
16:46 "Hello Kitty."
16:48 "Hey kitty girl, come on down here."
16:52 "Konichiwa, bitches."
16:55 For Katya's unique version of a Hello Kitty doll, she created a comically tacky babushka who loved socialism.
17:01 Pearl's Madonna-influenced gangster kitty was equally goofy, while Kennedy even tried to fit her personal look to the kitty theme.
17:08 With her lovely meat tag earring, Ginger's southern cow took advantage of other animals from the Japanese brand.
17:14 Violet built a beautiful headpiece out of merchandise for the second part of the theme, and turned pins into jewel-like details.
17:20 Though Katya designed a luscious catsuit, Kennedy's Catwoman outfit tied into the Hello Kitty products much better.
17:26 Interestingly enough, Pearl stood out for her minimalistic use of pink memorabilia.
17:30 The creative results of the Hello Kitty challenge showed viewers that brand-heavy runways could still be exciting.
17:36 "She woke up like that. Actually, she literally slept in that."
17:42 Number two, Latex Extravaganza.
17:45 Rubber hit the runway on the second week of All Stars 2 for looks that were skin-tight and visually distinct.
17:51 While Roxy Andrews created a Janet Jackson-style frock, Alaska transformed her black latex into something out of a futuristic dance club.
17:58 "I'm a nine-part supermodel and one-part robot, and ready for insertion."
18:04 Alyssa Edwards started in black too, but her yellow dress reveal was loud and preppy.
18:09 Fifi O'Hara even added some rubber duck jewelry to her ensemble to highlight its nautical aesthetic.
18:14 Detox brought a rare thigh gap to the show in her stunning red suit and sported a matching headpiece as well.
18:20 With its glossy fabric and plenty of sex appeal, the Latex Extravaganza put form to the forefront.
18:25 "She's into water sports. Oh, it's Esther Williams' cousin, Fister Williams."
18:31 "Wow, look at those breast strokes."
18:34 "Our cycles are synchronized."
18:37 Before we unveil our top pick, here are some honorable mentions.
18:41 The Queens took to the stage in intricate beaded looks, ranging from classy to campy.
18:46 "I'm a 1920s flapper on Bourbon Street. I really wanted to take a bulky material like Mardi Gras beads, but still make it slimming and sophisticated and classy."
18:59 Black Wedding. This theme took the classic bridal runway and gave it a fun, dark twist.
19:04 "My inspiration is a beautiful bride waiting for her husband to come back from war."
19:09 "Tania, are you coming back?"
19:11 "I received the letter. He's been killed in combat. The Black Wedding has become a funeral."
19:17 Feathers. Feathers of every shade and hue were represented in this fun yet glamorous runway.
19:22 "Wearing a black feather dress with six of crows, and they're just flying to me because I'm the queen of the crows. I feel amazing."
19:30 Last Ball on Earth. The contestants served three different looks centered around drag at the end of the world.
19:35 "I have the cold, frozen heart of our leader who wound us up in this mess because he wouldn't pay attention to global warming.
19:42 No yaks were hurt in the making of this gown, I promise."
19:45 Puff-a-Please. The Season 15 Queens wowed the judges in looks inspired by puffer jackets.
19:51 "I am serving the most iconic puffer look that I could think of. The Stay Puffed Marshmallow Woman."

20:13 Number 1. Death Becomes Her.
20:16 To bring humor and elegance to the afterlife, Ginger Minj placed herself in a bear skin and used entrails as a necklace.
20:23 "I am serving you baby bear realness, honey. I give a little spin, I strike a little pose, I give a little growl."
20:30 Though Katya was already a sickening captain with flashy sequins, her half-eaten shark foot was a hilarious touch.
20:36 Pearl also had us in tears when she roasted Kennedy's confusing animalistic outfit.
20:41 "After a night of hooking, I got a tape and thrown in the fire and crystallized. So I come out a fierce, glamazon drag queen, honey."
20:51 Jaden told a surprisingly detailed story for her prison zombie and gave her barbed wire details intriguing depth.
20:58 "What had happened was, I got put in jail and then I tried to escape to go see my baby daddy. And I didn't quite make it over that fence."
21:07 "It is criminal to look that good."
21:09 Violet risked her life for fashion with a cinch so unbelievably tight that Ariana Grande screamed at the reveal.
21:16 "Oh my God."
21:18 "I'm numb from the waist down, tuck included. I really could die, bitch. I'm giving you realness."
21:26 "She's got a smaller waist than Barbie."
21:28 "Don't sneeze, honey. It's all gonna pop."
21:31 Between blood, weapons, and body parts, "Death Becomes Her" has cemented itself as one of the most memorable themes in drag race herstory.
21:39 "She's got a splitting headache."
21:41 "The last time I'll eat it, Benihana."
21:43 Which category do you think the queen slayed the hardest? Let us know in the comments.
21:47 "This is everything."
21:49 "Flow like a butterfly, sting like a bee."
