00:02 This is the 2022 Lincoln Navigator.
00:08 The fourth generation Navigator, full-size SUV,
00:17 came out in 2018 model year,
00:20 but even luxury can get stale,
00:23 and as a result, Lincoln has updated the Navigator
00:26 for the 2022 model year.
00:29 It's given it some styling tweaks, a lot more technology,
00:33 and a lot of the upgrades we're going to find
00:36 inside the Navigator.
00:38 Every good facelift starts with the grille.
00:42 This is a black label model here.
00:45 It's a high trim level.
00:47 It's called Invitation, and for the first time,
00:51 all of the black label-themed vehicles
00:53 have this unique grille.
00:55 Also, some updates to the headlights.
00:58 Most noticeable here in the back
01:00 is the change to the actual proportions.
01:03 You'll see that the tail lights are a little bit slimmer.
01:07 They've been brought down a little bit,
01:09 and it just gives an impression of being
01:10 just a little bit cleaner and more modern-looking
01:13 than its predecessor.
01:14 The key to a Lincoln is the cabin,
01:19 and the Navigator is no exception.
01:21 For 2022, we've got nice details
01:25 such as this beautiful new Kela open-pore wood.
01:29 It's kind of like an African mahogany,
01:31 and you can see it extends along the dash
01:34 with some beautiful detail etching.
01:36 And because this is called Invitation,
01:40 it's supposed to be an invitation out for dinner,
01:42 and maybe you're going to go sit in the pergola.
01:44 As a result, these aniline leather seats,
01:47 the ventilation pattern is in the design of a pergola.
01:52 It's these kinds of little details,
01:53 and then there's functionality.
01:55 The screen is now 13.2 inches.
01:58 That's about three inches larger
02:00 than the one you had before.
02:01 It runs SYNC 4.
02:03 It's got more computing power.
02:04 It can do over-the-air updates.
02:06 Everything is at your fingertips
02:08 as you sit in this quiet, luxury cocoon.
02:12 The 2022 Navigator pays more attention
02:15 to the rear seat passengers.
02:18 They now have new screens on the back of the seats.
02:21 The seats themselves are heated and cooled
02:24 with optional massage,
02:26 and it's a more vigorous massage pattern
02:28 than in past Navigators.
02:30 The other thing is that the passengers
02:31 have a little screen here
02:33 so they can be in charge of all of the controls
02:36 to make the back seat the perfect place for a road trip.
02:40 The 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6
02:43 is a carryover from the '21 model year.
02:46 Engineers did play with it a bit
02:48 to make it a bit more efficient, a smoother ride.
02:50 As a result, horsepower goes from 450 down to 440.
02:55 We're told the customer's not even gonna feel the difference.
02:58 Torque remains at 510 pound-feet.
03:02 The suspension is still adaptive,
03:05 and they've added something called Road Preview,
03:07 where the cameras and sensors
03:09 detect imperfections in the road
03:11 and prepare the car so that it goes smoothly over it.
03:15 The other big addition, Active Glide,
03:17 which is Lincoln's version of a hands-free
03:21 highway driving assist.
03:23 We don't have pricing yet,
03:24 but expect it to be a little higher than the current prices,
03:28 which range from about $78,000 to over $100,000
03:33 for some of the black-label trims.
