00:00 Thanks for joining us Jake. You've had some success in the pool up in Darwin at the country
00:04 championships. Can you tell us about that?
00:06 Yeah, I've won eight medals up there at the country champs, four gold. And that was in
00:13 the 50, 100, 200 breaststroke and another one in the 100 butterfly. And the silver was
00:18 in 50 butterfly and then the three bronze were in 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200
00:23 IM.
00:24 And you've only been swimming competitively for about 18 months.
00:27 Yeah.
00:28 You come in regularly from Lismore, get up really early in the morning to come and train.
00:32 Can you tell us about that?
00:34 Yeah, I get up at 10 to 4, have recce, come to training most mornings. Come here after
00:42 school as well. I have to leave school early just to train. But that's all good. It's fun.
00:49 It's worth it.
00:50 What do you enjoy about swimming?
00:53 The difficulty, how technical it is, how heartbreaking it can be. And the aspect with your mates
01:00 as well. It's a good social environment for everyone, especially here at Warrnambool.
01:05 And what have you got coming up over the next six months you're aiming for?
01:10 State age, state open. That's all long course and the Australian championships in April,
01:17 hopefully.
01:18 Excellent. Thanks very much Jake.
01:19 It's all good.
