00:00:00 Pakistan's first ever HD sports channel, 10 sports and the ARY Zap app and our continued
00:00:25 coverage of the ICC men's cricket world cup 2023. The news out of New Delhi is a very
00:00:31 special one, a very big one. That is Afghanistan have defeated the defending world champions
00:00:37 England by a spectacular margin. What a great game of cricket we have just witnessed in
00:00:43 New Delhi. What a great display of cricket we've seen from Afghanistan, a team that has
00:00:47 always been thought to be the underdogs has played really, really good and progressive,
00:00:54 productive cricket today. We're going to talk about that with me in the pavilion. I've got
00:00:57 four former Pakistani captains, four outstanding minds of cricket, and it's a privilege and
00:01:02 an honour to be sharing this space with them. I've got the young and dynamic Shoaib Malik.
00:01:06 Shoaib, welcome. Thank you. Assalamu alaikum everyone. Mr. Dependable, Ms. Baul Haq. Ms.
00:01:12 Baul, welcome again. Assalamu alaikum. Thank you. The silver fox of the pavilion, Mohin
00:01:17 Khan. Mohin, welcome. Thank you. Assalamu alaikum everyone. And the royalty in house,
00:01:22 I've got Waseem Akram. Waseem, welcome. Thank you very much. Assalamu alaikum everyone.
00:01:26 Let's first take a look at the match summary. What happened today? It's a very special day.
00:01:32 Many congratulations to the fans of Afghanistan around the world. And you know, it's just
00:01:37 made us all very, very happy to see Afghanistan win this one. But look at that performance
00:01:42 there. Just look at that match summary there. Afghanistan won this by 69 runs. England won
00:01:49 it by 18 toss. Afghanistan got the first ball. Gurbaz played a very good 80 runs inning.
00:01:56 Akram contributing there with the half century. Mujeeb Ibrahim also contributing. And for
00:02:02 England, well, Rashid picked up three wickets. Wood picked up two and Root one. And then
00:02:07 in response, it was Brooke who showed some kind of resistance to the Afghanistan bowling
00:02:12 attack. Milan there with 32, Rashid 20, Wood 18. But it was just not enough. And then look
00:02:18 at that. Rashid there, three for 37. Mujeeb three for 51. Nabi two for 16. Afghanistan
00:02:26 winning this by 69 runs. And I know there must be a lot of happy Afghans around the
00:02:32 world today. Big congratulations. I mean, this is truly a moment to be celebrated in
00:02:37 your cricketing history because this is the second time that Afghanistan has won a cricket
00:02:42 match in a World Cup game. The last time was in 2015 against Scotland, I believe. And here
00:02:48 they are today taking on the Giants, the kings of white ball cricket, as they call them.
00:02:54 But with that, let's take a look at the points table brought to you by Pepsi.
00:02:59 Right, friends, so here are the points table on your screen. And let's see how this is
00:03:03 looking now. Oh, look at that. So India remains on top. Three matches, three wins. New Zealand,
00:03:09 three matches, three wins. But the net run rate for India is higher. So they are at the
00:03:13 top. South Africa, great net run rate in only two games. They still have more to play. Pakistan,
00:03:18 three games, two wins, one loss and a minus negative net run rate. But look at England.
00:03:22 They're also going into a negative run rate. But look at that. Afghanistan now trailing
00:03:26 right behind England on that points table. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Australia,
00:03:31 Australia right at the bottom. A lot of worried kangaroos, I think, all over. They want to
00:03:37 get going on that points table. That's how it is. The four top teams will play the semifinal.
00:03:42 And here is your points table brought to you by Pepsi.
00:03:46 Let me bring in my esteemed panelists into this discussion. Waseem, let's start with
00:03:50 you first because on Player to Watchout, you chose Gurbaaz today. You said 8-bit Gulkan
00:03:56 Gurbaaz. And before we went into when we went to closing the pre-match, it would be great
00:04:04 to see a century today from an Afghanistan batsman. And he came so close under unfortunate
00:04:08 run out. But it looked like there was nothing that was going to stop him from getting that
00:04:12 century today. It's a massive deal for cricket lovers, for Afghanistan and the country beating
00:04:19 the world champions, regaining world champions. I think everything started off with the partnership
00:04:26 79 in first 10 overs, only 33 dot balls. And they both played positive cricket, good creating
00:04:32 shots and ignorant bowling supposedly was one of the best in the world right now. But
00:04:39 they played it amazing. They played amazing cricket, especially this young boy, Gurbaaz.
00:04:43 What a special player he is. And it's like I said, it's first upset of the World Cup
00:04:48 2023. And pitch, we have a lot to talk about. Time is up. But you see, the ball turned in
00:04:55 the second inning. It was a little bit of an oast, but it didn't make a difference.
00:04:59 It means England picked 11 wrong, read the pitch wrong. But I'm not taking credit away
00:05:06 from the Afghanistan team because they did great. I mean, the whole country should be
00:05:10 super proud of them. Yeah, they must be. Let me bring this to you. They scored 79 runs
00:05:14 in their power play today. After that, when there was a slow period in between, I think
00:05:20 the pressure was not built on them because they had scored 79 runs in the beginning.
00:05:25 Is this the Jonathan Trott effect taking place now? Credit should be given to him. But as
00:05:32 Wasim said, 57 balls, 80 runs. The way Rahmanullah Gurbaaz is playing, it doesn't matter which
00:05:42 bowler is coming in front of him. Whatever team comes, they don't get trapped. And he's
00:05:46 such an improved player. All kinds of shots. He's as strong on the back foot, as he is
00:05:51 on the front foot. The pole shot, which was a little bit of an issue a year and a half
00:05:57 ago. But now if any bowler even backs up at 147, 148, they hit it sixes. The spin, they
00:06:05 play it well. It's a big, big advantage. In power play, they under pressure the other
00:06:11 way. Not only do both the openers give them a start, but it's a very dominating start.
00:06:20 And they have a chance in the middle, that even if something happens, they have a chance
00:06:26 to rebuild it. Although, I still think that after the start, at least 40-50 runs were
00:06:34 shot. But still, because of that start, they were able to score 284. I think, I have to
00:06:45 give credit to Jonathan Trott, that you can see a balanced team. The change that he gave
00:06:53 to Ikram Ali Khail, a young player who did a great job of batting. And where he was getting
00:07:01 a big spread, he wasn't getting runs from the bottom, he got a very good contribution
00:07:06 of 58 runs. He has a very good partnership today, of 114 runs. That was the match winning
00:07:14 partnership, match winning inning at that time. Because they were going nowhere. And
00:07:19 look at his shots, technique is good. The way he dominated when needed. When the momentum
00:07:28 goes away from a team, and after that, it's very difficult to get that momentum back.
00:07:33 I think that he scored 23 runs with his lower middle order, Rashid scored, Mujeeb scored
00:07:39 28. This partnership that you were talking about, it was a very good partnership, this
00:07:44 114 run partnership. Yes, this was between Gurbaaz and Ibrahim. I mean, both played
00:07:48 sensible crick. And you know, they went 7 and over, 8 and over, and they were playing
00:07:54 cricketing shots. They're not slogging. We discussed in the morning about Gurbaaz.
00:07:58 Maybe he was told in the beginning to play long, but that's not his game. This is his
00:08:02 game. He should play cricket like this, play his game, and if he clicks, he can take the
00:08:08 game away from opposition like they did it today. The best thing about that is that his
00:08:14 technique is very good. Solid technique, and he plays shots on merit, and he's so fluent.
00:08:20 Like on back foot, front foot drive, pull shot. That's why he has security and safety
00:08:26 that he makes runs and also participates. He's not hit and miss. He's so consistent.
00:08:32 You see him in the last year and a half, he makes runs in almost every game.
00:08:37 Yes, absolutely. He played very well today. Mohin, the intent was clear. Obviously,
00:08:43 the whole team was there to bat. And they showed signs of a world-class team today.
00:08:50 They basically showed to the world that they deserve to be in this tournament, and they
00:08:54 look like they're here to actually make some dents.
00:08:57 Absolutely, Fakhar. First of all, I'd like to congratulate you.
00:09:00 Afghanistan has won a big match against England. I think with positive intent, luck
00:09:05 also starts to favour you. I think the way the upper partnership gave, the starting
00:09:10 order didn't give, the middle order didn't give, they didn't respond. But at the end,
00:09:13 they managed to convert a reasonable total. I think, I'll talk about the toss, I think
00:09:21 England made a big mistake. Because they saw the Sri Lanka match against South Africa,
00:09:27 that chasing is very easy here. In that match, they didn't pay attention, I think, that
00:09:33 South African bowlers didn't bowl at the right place. And today, when England started
00:09:40 their bowling, we saw how they were hit, Gurbaz, you know, they weren't pitching the
00:09:46 ball at the right place. One more mistake that Wasimai identified, was the team selection.
00:09:52 The way the game turned later on, in the first inning, Adil bowled very well, and then
00:09:57 all the Afghan spinners bowled very well. I think Mohin Ali should have been fed here.
00:10:02 That was one factor that was missing in their game. I think, it was not a good combination.
00:10:07 And, the way you talked about the intent, they were positive, and they were on the little
00:10:11 bit of negative side, England. That's why, luck didn't favour them anywhere.
00:10:15 Yeah, very interesting point that Wasim raised, and you're also raising, that there
00:10:19 must have been a problem in the selection, they should have had another spinner. But
00:10:20 I think, they misread, like Wasim is saying, everybody misread the pitch here. So, I think
00:10:24 that's the cause of that whole thing. But, let me quickly bring this to you, Shoaib.
00:10:29 We were thinking about Mark Wood, that if Mark Wood comes, he'll make them dance,
00:10:35 and make them airborne. So, today, the Afghans said, "You'll be Mark Wood, but we're
00:10:40 also here to play."
00:10:41 Look, if you have a lot of pace, then the room for pace shouldn't be there. If you
00:10:50 have pace, then the pace should go towards face, towards chest. We saw that Gurbaz
00:10:56 Khan, on an upper cut, he got a spanked, that was outside of stump. So, good batters,
00:11:01 if the bouncer doesn't come to your face, no matter how fast you make them, they'll
00:11:06 be your runs. So, you have good pace, but the right pace to finish is very, very important.
00:11:13 That's one thing, and the other thing is that today, Delhi's stats, the ones before
00:11:18 the late pitch…
00:11:19 700 runs, 750 runs, that's not…
00:11:21 That was not the pitch today. That's why you see that 13 wickets have been taken by
00:11:28 the spinners from both sides.
00:11:29 Correct.
00:11:30 And if you look at this, 18 wickets lost by England vs. Spin in this World Cup. So, today
00:11:36 the ball turned a little, and we saw that their batters struggled, the England players.
00:11:41 And this is the reason. And Miss Babai has always said that Bangladesh's spinners
00:11:46 will only be good when the ball turns a little. Today, it turned, and they made a difference.
00:11:51 They only made 284 runs today. The ball turned a little, and if they make 284 runs on a pitch
00:11:59 like this against any big team, if Afghanistan makes it, they'll annoy any team with this
00:12:04 spinning attack.
00:12:07 Absolutely. What will they annoy? They'll beat them. And today, they've beaten them.
00:12:10 With that, we're going to take a break here in the pavilion, but when we come back,
00:12:12 we're going to talk more about this historical win for Afghanistan. Congratulations.
00:12:18 Welcome back to the pavilion. I'm Fakhr-e-Anam. You're watching Sports and Sports in the
00:12:43 air by Zapp app. And the great news coming out of New Delhi, and that is a big, big,
00:12:46 big upset in the ICC Men's World Cup 2023. Afghanistan routing out England there with
00:12:52 a huge margin, 60 plus runs. And we're talking about both the teams. Big congratulations
00:13:02 to you. This truly deserves to be celebrated properly. This is the second time in history
00:13:07 that Afghanistan has won a World Cup match. The first match was against Scotland in 2015.
00:13:11 And today, this match has been won by a big margin against England, the defending champions.
00:13:16 Let me talk about the bowling sides. Clearly, it looks like the bowlers of Afghanistan
00:13:21 have come with a big plan. Keeping everything within the stumps, not giving too much width,
00:13:26 maybe on some occasions. But what's happened to England's bowling,
00:13:29 miss? What do you read of this bowling card? We're struggling. Chris Wokes, especially,
00:13:36 with the new ball. It depends a lot on him. England will take wickets, but he's struggling.
00:13:43 He's not finding that length.
00:13:51 That's why he's just giving away so many runs. And then Sam Curran, I think these two are
00:14:04 the weak links. Four overs, 46 runs.
00:14:08 He's given Afghanistan a very open start. He's given them breathing space.
00:14:12 I think it's vital that they score so many runs, 10 and over, almost without taking any
00:14:23 wicket. So that basically gave momentum to Afghanistan to score 280 plus runs.
00:14:30 And secondly, England's fast bowlers have played three World Cup matches so far.
00:14:34 They're the second most expensive after Sri Lanka.
00:14:38 They're different pitches. They're not England pitches.
00:14:47 Sam Curran, they rate him a lot. So do I. But not probably on these pitches.
00:15:03 He's not batting much. He plays as an all-rounder.
00:15:08 And that's where I think they're struggling a bit now.
00:15:12 They're the regaining champions.
00:15:14 And out of the three matches, the World Cup is a big one, no doubt.
00:15:19 But now literally, they kind of have to win every game from here onwards.
00:15:23 Yeah, this kind of has set the World Cup in a very strange zone now.
00:15:26 Every team is now eyeing this. And every team is probably worried about Afghanistan.
00:15:30 The run rate eventually will let it to.
00:15:33 Even I think with Mark Wood having in their lineup,
00:15:37 the way you allowed him to run the tail,
00:15:40 23 runs, Rashid is good, he did 23.
00:15:45 But you allowed Mujeeb to score 28 runs on 16 balls.
00:15:49 He's batting at No. 11 in the league.
00:15:53 Mujeeb hits good shots.
00:15:55 Yeah, he did today. Well done to him.
00:15:57 But still, if you are in a competition, if you're playing in the World Cup,
00:16:02 and you get such runs from such a team, that basically hurts you.
00:16:09 It does.
00:16:11 Secondly, England is the team in this World Cup so far,
00:16:15 whose spinners have won the most in three matches.
00:16:18 They've lost 18 wickets, and they've won the spinners in three matches.
00:16:23 So, where there was a slight turn, they'll struggle.
00:16:27 But it looks like it so far, the way they're playing.
00:16:29 One more thing, Mark Wood is so paced,
00:16:32 a bowler with such pace should know how to hit Yorkers.
00:16:35 That's why he kept hitting tail-enders at the same length as he did in the middle overs.
00:16:40 So, hitting Yorkers is very important, especially in the death overs.
00:16:44 Absolutely. Now, let's take a look at the Afghanistan bowling.
00:16:47 Because it looked to me very, very disciplined.
00:16:49 The pitch was assisting them,
00:16:51 but the spinners were keeping it within the stumps and all that.
00:16:55 Look at this bowling card.
00:16:57 Mujeeb-ur-Rehman gave 51 runs in 10 overs,
00:16:59 and took 3 wickets.
00:17:01 So, he had an economy of 5-1-0.
00:17:03 But look at Mohammad Nabi.
00:17:05 16 runs in 6 overs. 2.66 economy rate, 2 wickets.
00:17:08 And Rashid Khan, of course, Rashid Khan being Rashid Khan.
00:17:10 It's not the same Rashid Khan who England found in 2019.
00:17:14 It was a different Rashid Khan today, altogether.
00:17:16 Different pitch, different situation.
00:17:18 Very different bowling.
00:17:20 He had a very different strategy today.
00:17:22 What do you think, Raju?
00:17:24 If the ball spins, they will be a nuisance.
00:17:26 No matter who the batter is,
00:17:28 they are all quality spinners.
00:17:30 In the pre-show, we said that
00:17:32 we should have played for Noor Ahmed
00:17:34 instead of Mujeeb.
00:17:36 It was me.
00:17:38 This Rashid Khan,
00:17:40 wherever the ball spins, they will be a nuisance.
00:17:42 And the best thing was that
00:17:44 he was out from the top.
00:17:46 And when he's out from the top,
00:17:48 in the middle overs,
00:17:50 the batsmen are struggling.
00:17:52 They are not in form.
00:17:54 Only Harry Brooke has made runs.
00:17:56 Other than that, in any middle order,
00:17:58 no one has made any runs.
00:18:00 David Milane has made 30 runs.
00:18:02 He was a good delivery.
00:18:04 Nipped back a long way.
00:18:06 But he's playing from his own place.
00:18:08 They play like this,
00:18:10 where you play a medium pacer
00:18:12 without moving your legs.
00:18:14 Your legs are planted,
00:18:16 then you play with your hands.
00:18:18 If you play like this,
00:18:20 you will struggle.
00:18:22 So today, he spun the ball and struggled.
00:18:24 But all the credit to
00:18:26 Afghanistan bowler.
00:18:28 The way they bowled today.
00:18:30 I think Malik, their captaincy
00:18:32 and their plans and matchups were spot on.
00:18:34 For that special batsman,
00:18:36 Nabi came,
00:18:38 he outed David Milane.
00:18:40 And then, the captain
00:18:42 changed him immediately.
00:18:44 Butler came and brought Naveen ul Haq.
00:18:46 Butler normally
00:18:48 is out on this ball.
00:18:50 He set up the ball.
00:18:52 He took one ball out and then
00:18:54 went wide of the crease.
00:18:56 He got out 2-3 times in test matches.
00:18:58 And he was
00:19:00 very precise
00:19:02 in the way he got it.
00:19:04 Before that,
00:19:08 Naveen didn't over.
00:19:10 And especially,
00:19:12 when he came and took out 2 balls.
00:19:14 And this,
00:19:16 he came in.
00:19:18 He set up the ball
00:19:20 and brought it in.
00:19:22 He rotated it very well.
00:19:24 The ball was good.
00:19:26 Actually, the changes were happening
00:19:28 back to back. I was going to say that
00:19:30 the captaincy looked really good.
00:19:32 Potent.
00:19:34 Rashid Khan has to hold this.
00:19:36 He has to be proactive.
00:19:38 Not just one match.
00:19:40 Same intensity, same planning.
00:19:42 The more time he invests in practice,
00:19:44 the more time he should invest with the analyst.
00:19:46 In a room.
00:19:48 The plans should be like this.
00:19:50 The smaller teams whose rankings come later,
00:19:52 after 7,
00:19:54 like how Akmanistan played today,
00:19:56 they should emphasize on this.
00:19:58 To improve their planning.
00:20:00 If they improve their planning,
00:20:02 the results will be consistent.
00:20:04 I think even Journey Bestow,
00:20:06 first dismissal.
00:20:08 Everyone knows, left arm,
00:20:10 right arm, right team bowler.
00:20:12 If the ball comes in a little bit,
00:20:14 they play this shot.
00:20:16 Ball or leg before,
00:20:18 mostly from Shaheen.
00:20:20 He brought the ball from
00:20:22 that exact spot.
00:20:24 He was a little unlucky in that decision.
00:20:26 But the way he utilized
00:20:28 his bowlers,
00:20:30 against certain batsmen,
00:20:32 that was spot on.
00:20:34 Yeah, it was.
00:20:36 No question about it.
00:20:38 Stay tuned.
00:20:40 See you all after the break.
00:20:42 Welcome back to The Pavilion.
00:21:02 We will start in a little while.
00:21:04 #AskThePavilion
00:21:06 We have your questions and answers.
00:21:08 Joining us in The Pavilion are
00:21:10 Shoaib Malik, Minister of Health Mohin Khan
00:21:12 and Wasim Akram.
00:21:14 We are talking about ICC Men's
00:21:16 World Cup 23, New Delhi.
00:21:18 Afghanistan has defeated England
00:21:20 in their match.
00:21:22 We have been talking about that game.
00:21:24 What a great performance there by
00:21:26 the Afghanistan team.
00:21:28 Very methodical. They went about their business very well.
00:21:30 Wasim, the planning was clearly visible.
00:21:32 But not only the planning was showing,
00:21:34 they were executing it properly.
00:21:36 Otherwise, people come with a plan
00:21:38 and it is not executed.
00:21:40 I can't praise the team enough.
00:21:42 It's a big deal like I said earlier.
00:21:44 They are the world champions
00:21:46 of white ball.
00:21:48 They are the world champions in T20 as well.
00:21:50 And to win against them
00:21:52 in such a convincing way,
00:21:54 with control,
00:21:56 in a 100-over game,
00:21:58 especially after losing a couple of games,
00:22:00 it's a big performance from Afghanistan.
00:22:02 I am so happy for them.
00:22:04 They are working hard and their coach, of course,
00:22:06 Jonathan Trott,
00:22:08 has won 4-1 against Bangladesh
00:22:10 and 2-2
00:22:12 against Sri Lanka.
00:22:14 And then
00:22:16 they have won T20 series from Pakistan as well.
00:22:18 So that's a big deal.
00:22:20 They are on the right track as long as they have the backup players.
00:22:22 But like I said,
00:22:24 one person said on Twitter
00:22:26 that upset is not the word.
00:22:28 It is kind of
00:22:30 upset in a way that nobody was expecting
00:22:32 them to win
00:22:34 comfortably against one of the best teams,
00:22:36 one of the favorites to win the World Cup.
00:22:38 - One of my questions is
00:22:40 that no doubt
00:22:42 we saw the planning of Afghanistan.
00:22:44 - Yeah. - But it was
00:22:46 just a plan. - Yes, it was. - And it worked.
00:22:48 So, will you say that
00:22:50 Afghanistan played good cricket
00:22:52 or England played bad cricket?
00:22:54 - I suppose whatever plan they had,
00:22:56 it worked because they had a positive mind.
00:22:58 Like Gurbaz said,
00:23:00 you play your own innings.
00:23:02 And whenever he, that particular player
00:23:04 plays his own innings,
00:23:06 his own game,
00:23:08 he will total the match.
00:23:10 You also said that
00:23:12 he will total the match for any team
00:23:14 and he will trap them in the second bowling.
00:23:16 - If he will spin the ball, it will be like this.
00:23:18 But England was trapped in their shell.
00:23:20 - No, the problem with England is that
00:23:22 although he is a very good player,
00:23:24 a favorite player of mine,
00:23:26 he is not able to take Morgan's place
00:23:28 in the middle order.
00:23:30 - He doesn't have the space.
00:23:32 - I think that
00:23:34 there is a big question mark on leadership.
00:23:36 If the same team
00:23:38 was with Ian Morgan,
00:23:40 things would have been different.
00:23:42 Because the first ball that was bowled,
00:23:44 was by Chris Wokes.
00:23:46 It was a late swing from Butler.
00:23:48 He got 4-5 runs
00:23:50 ahead of the white ball.
00:23:52 So, the face expressions of a leader
00:23:54 were a bit dull.
00:23:56 You are starting the game,
00:23:58 that too, first ball.
00:24:00 And I felt a bit like this.
00:24:02 I guess, no doubt, he is a match winner,
00:24:04 he is a world-class cricketer, Josh Butler.
00:24:06 But in leadership, I feel
00:24:08 he will have to step up a bit.
00:24:10 - Mohin, this is a very interesting thing
00:24:12 that has come to our attention.
00:24:14 I will take your thoughts on this.
00:24:16 Most of the players of England
00:24:18 have been rested from the World Cup 2019
00:24:20 to the ODIs of 2023.
00:24:22 They will not be given many ODIs.
00:24:24 In the World Cup,
00:24:26 Josh Butler missed 15 ODIs,
00:24:28 Adil Rashid missed 15 ODIs,
00:24:30 Bairstow missed 18 ODIs,
00:24:32 David Milan missed 22 ODIs,
00:24:34 Joe Root missed 23 ODIs,
00:24:36 and Ben Stokes missed 29 ODIs.
00:24:38 - Ben Stokes had retired,
00:24:40 so he was brought back.
00:24:42 - Probably, that's why he was brought back.
00:24:44 But does that add up to something?
00:24:46 - Whenever there is a defeat,
00:24:48 such things will come out.
00:24:50 But the workload management
00:24:52 of the England team will naturally
00:24:54 look at the number of cricketers
00:24:56 in the world. Players are busy.
00:24:58 That's why they try to give
00:25:00 some players rest from time to time
00:25:02 and give some players rest.
00:25:04 You are building up the new players
00:25:06 and giving them confidence.
00:25:08 Phil Salt is such a great player.
00:25:10 I hope you all agree with this.
00:25:12 He is not a part of this squad.
00:25:14 He is an outstanding player.
00:25:16 There are many players,
00:25:18 but these things,
00:25:20 like he lost today,
00:25:22 will naturally come up again.
00:25:24 There will be discussions.
00:25:26 I think we will have to think about it.
00:25:28 But again, I will say
00:25:30 what Malik said,
00:25:32 that he was not able to
00:25:34 see the confidence in Butler.
00:25:36 I think he was not able
00:25:38 to make the right decision.
00:25:40 The pitch read was not right.
00:25:42 That's why he didn't put Mohin in the team.
00:25:44 He has made four passes in the last two matches.
00:25:46 Both the matches,
00:25:48 Delhi and England
00:25:50 have beaten the Faiz bowlers.
00:25:52 If you look at the economy
00:25:54 of the Faiz bowlers,
00:25:56 7.4% and 7.33%
00:25:58 of the Afghan bowlers
00:26:00 have been beaten.
00:26:02 England's Wokes have picked
00:26:04 at 10.25%, Toplay's 5.88%,
00:26:06 Karan's 11.50%.
00:26:08 If you compare
00:26:10 the spinners,
00:26:12 the man of the match
00:26:14 Mujeeb,
00:26:16 his maximum economy
00:26:18 was 5.10%.
00:26:20 Otherwise,
00:26:22 if you look at the bowling of
00:26:24 2.66% Naveen,
00:26:26 Rashid's 3.89%. Even England's spinners
00:26:28 Livingstone finished
00:26:30 at 3.30%. 10 overs.
00:26:32 So when Livingstone is bowling
00:26:34 10 overs, it means that
00:26:36 the pitch was 100% spin.
00:26:38 So it was a mistake
00:26:40 that Mohin was not allowed to bowl.
00:26:42 But it was an important
00:26:44 rise today. Mujeeb finally
00:26:46 getting into the action.
00:26:48 We were waiting for him to come in.
00:26:50 He has done a great bowling today.
00:26:52 Very good.
00:26:54 I think,
00:26:56 doing a new ball
00:26:58 against attacking batters is not easy.
00:27:00 And the way he has done
00:27:02 the bowling today,
00:27:04 he does finger ball,
00:27:06 carrom ball,
00:27:08 googly as well,
00:27:10 and also in-swinger.
00:27:12 Because he has a variety of
00:27:14 different types of bowling.
00:27:16 This was his in-swing type
00:27:18 and this was carrom ball.
00:27:20 So wherever the ball
00:27:22 will turn,
00:27:24 he challenges both the sides
00:27:26 and the edges of the bat.
00:27:28 And we saw that today.
00:27:30 And we could see
00:27:32 that the bowlers of Afghanistan
00:27:34 were continuously attacking wickets.
00:27:36 Not giving too much weight.
00:27:38 And also the spin, making sure
00:27:40 that the ball ends up in the wickets.
00:27:42 Mostly both the spinners,
00:27:44 Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and
00:27:46 obviously Rashid Khan,
00:27:48 they have the strength. They bowl
00:27:50 before the leg.
00:27:52 And they bowl from a low trajectory.
00:27:54 And the pitch where there is a little
00:27:56 spin, still skidding it.
00:27:58 It's giving the batsman
00:28:00 less time to go to the back foot.
00:28:02 The Englanders were continuously going to the back foot.
00:28:04 You are bound to miss
00:28:06 sooner or later
00:28:08 a ball. Because they were pushing
00:28:10 and pushing,
00:28:12 and Mujeeb has
00:28:14 out-bound the route.
00:28:16 You miss a ball there.
00:28:18 So the planning was
00:28:20 the same. The setup was
00:28:22 very smart and controlled.
00:28:24 And today, they were very open-minded.
00:28:26 Like Malik said, the googly
00:28:28 they do, they were doing it very openly.
00:28:30 They had confidence.
00:28:32 I think maybe one reason for that
00:28:34 is the way they
00:28:36 batted 28 runs,
00:28:38 16 balls,
00:28:40 this is a natural thing.
00:28:42 When you go with momentum,
00:28:44 it gives you confidence.
00:28:46 In the previous matches, they couldn't bowl
00:28:48 like that. Today, they were totally different
00:28:50 from the first ball. -Very true.
00:28:52 And with this,
00:28:54 I think we should ask
00:28:56 Moin to go forward. Because he didn't
00:28:58 say much.
00:29:00 Moin, what is the way forward,
00:29:02 not just for England, but for Afghanistan?
00:29:04 What should we do from here?
00:29:06 I think the intent with which they are playing,
00:29:08 they have to continue that.
00:29:10 When you have positivity in your mind,
00:29:12 that's how you
00:29:14 perform well. Today,
00:29:16 the intent was seen throughout.
00:29:18 This has to be kept in continuity.
00:29:20 It is there, it is visible.
00:29:22 Their flair is also there.
00:29:24 Like they play in T20,
00:29:26 they have given tough time to every big team.
00:29:28 So I think in this 50-100 game,
00:29:30 they will definitely benefit from this victory.
00:29:32 So this has to be continued.
00:29:34 Do you want to do the real way forward? -Yes, tell us.
00:29:36 Moin, do it again. -Do it.
00:29:38 Way forward for England.
00:29:40 For England?
00:29:42 It is difficult for England today.
00:29:44 England was down.
00:29:46 England didn't take any chance.
00:29:48 They shouldn't have taken a chance.
00:29:50 Time for a break.
00:29:52 But after the break, we will answer
00:29:54 your questions on
00:29:56 Ask the Pavilion. See you after the break.

00:30:24 eSports, Pakistan's first
00:30:26 ever HD sports channel.
00:30:28 And today is a special day
00:30:30 as our ICC Men's
00:30:32 World Cup coverage continues
00:30:34 for 2023. In New Delhi,
00:30:36 Afghanistan has given a big surprise to England.
00:30:38 We have with us in the Pavilion
00:30:40 four of the best captains of Pakistan,
00:30:42 the best cricket minds,
00:30:44 with whom we have a regular conversation.
00:30:46 Shoaib Malik, Miss Paul Haq,
00:30:48 Moin Khan and the legendary Waseem Akram.
00:30:50 But today is a very special day.
00:30:52 Why is it a special day, sir?
00:30:54 It's a special day because
00:30:56 today is the birthday of Babur Azam.
00:30:58 So happy birthday to Babur Azam.
00:31:00 Happy birthday.
00:31:02 Happy birthday.
00:31:04 And today is the birthday of
00:31:06 Umar Gul, the guldozer.
00:31:08 So Umar Gul, happy birthday to you.
00:31:10 Happy birthday.
00:31:12 But
00:31:14 along with that, today
00:31:16 is the third birthday of
00:31:18 Pakistan's first ever HD sports channel.
00:31:20 It is the birthday
00:31:22 of A Sports as well.
00:31:24 So happy birthday to A Sports,
00:31:26 to everybody in A Sports,
00:31:28 including our founder, Salman Iqbal,
00:31:30 the entire team, Jujjis,
00:31:32 Saqib, Imran
00:31:34 and everybody who's involved. And of course,
00:31:36 the president of A Sports,
00:31:38 Mr. Waseem Akram.
00:31:40 And I'd like to say, Waseem,
00:31:42 well done. Thank you very much for giving us
00:31:44 the opportunity and thank you very much
00:31:46 for bringing us all together.
00:31:48 I would like to thank the whole team,
00:31:50 including our founder,
00:31:52 Salman, who's currently
00:31:54 in Bombay because he also
00:31:56 been voted one of the most
00:31:58 influential Muslim of 500
00:32:00 top Muslims. So congratulations to
00:32:02 Salman. And the whole team
00:32:04 who's behind this, not just the ones
00:32:06 behind the camera, but the ones with
00:32:08 mics, sound,
00:32:10 audio, graphics,
00:32:12 who are sitting in our room,
00:32:14 in the production house,
00:32:16 Saqib, the drivers
00:32:18 who pick us up, Azmat, who
00:32:20 puts us in the lookout. There are about
00:32:22 50-60 people involved for this show,
00:32:24 even more probably. Yes. And
00:32:26 every year we do this
00:32:28 all year round. I forgot Imran's name.
00:32:30 So everyone, guys,
00:32:32 doing a great job, do good work
00:32:34 and remember, this is
00:32:36 just the start. This is just the start.
00:32:38 It's only been three years
00:32:40 and with that, I'm going
00:32:42 to request the Honorable
00:32:44 President of A Sports,
00:32:46 His Royal Highness, Mr. Waseem Akram
00:32:48 to kindly come and cut the cake.
00:32:50 But before cutting the cake,
00:32:52 I want to request you,
00:32:54 because you're the President of A Sports,
00:32:56 can you do something
00:32:58 about our salaries?
00:33:00 Can you do something about our salaries?
00:33:02 I'm just kidding. It's okay.
00:33:06 Salman, send him a clip.
00:33:08 Yes, send him a clip.
00:33:10 Give me an answer to a question
00:33:12 before cutting the cake. What?
00:33:14 I didn't play.
00:33:16 You didn't play?
00:33:18 No, many have said,
00:33:20 cricket lovers, I love their passion.
00:33:22 I don't get upset. I pretend that I'm upset
00:33:24 and I'm not. But Dhani can't
00:33:26 come because the squad is small.
00:33:28 Secondly, feed Ibrahim.
00:33:30 People have said that.
00:33:32 If there's an injured in the squad,
00:33:34 he can come. So it's a special
00:33:36 moment for all of us here at A Sports.
00:33:38 We're going to celebrate this by having this cake.
00:33:40 The cake I was looking for yesterday,
00:33:42 has finally arrived.
00:33:44 I have a knife.
00:33:46 Come, everyone.
00:33:48 Come on, join us.
00:33:50 Let's do this. Let's all put our hands
00:33:52 on this cake.
00:33:54 You mean on this?
00:33:56 Come here.
00:33:58 You'll be in the middle.
00:34:00 I'll come here.
00:34:02 Now we're all done.
00:34:04 Come, let's do it.
00:34:06 Come.
00:34:08 Happy birthday, A Sports.
00:34:10 Happy birthday, A Sports.
00:34:12 Yes.
00:34:14 Yes.
00:34:16 Yes.
00:34:18 Yes.
00:34:20 Give it to the president.
00:34:22 This is for the president.
00:34:24 Thank you.
00:34:26 Thank you.
00:34:28 Mr. Mirza, you should have some.
00:34:30 Wow.
00:34:32 This is the last one for you.
00:34:34 Amazing.
00:34:36 Let's share the cake
00:34:38 with our team.
00:34:40 So we can all celebrate together.
00:34:42 Right on.
00:34:44 Don't break the chair.
00:34:46 I think the chair is already broken.
00:34:48 I need some time
00:34:50 and some privacy to eat the cake.
00:34:52 Therefore, I think
00:34:54 the best thing to do is that we take a break.
00:34:56 We'll see you on the other side.
00:34:58 Hello.
00:35:00 Welcome back to the pavilion.
00:35:20 I'm Fakhnayan and you're watching A Sports and Sports and the ARY Zap app.
00:35:22 Before we go on with the break,
00:35:24 we've got the third birthday cake
00:35:26 here.
00:35:28 The cake is here.
00:35:30 We've had a few bites.
00:35:32 Yes.
00:35:34 With me in the pavilion, I've got four great
00:35:36 cricketing minds, four former captains of Pakistan.
00:35:38 I've got Shoaib Malik, Ms. Maulana Mouhin Khan
00:35:40 and Wasim Akram.
00:35:42 Now, we'll start
00:35:44 your favorite segment
00:35:46 which is Ask the Pavilion.
00:35:48 A lot of questions are
00:35:50 piling up.
00:35:52 We'd like to take as many questions
00:35:54 as possible.
00:35:56 The first question is from
00:35:58 Himadri Gautam.
00:36:00 Himadri Gautam is asking,
00:36:02 #AskThePavilion
00:36:04 You can send us your questions.
00:36:06 The question is,
00:36:08 Mickey Arthur defended Pakistan
00:36:10 batter's approach yesterday claiming
00:36:12 not hitting sixes early
00:36:14 is the Pakistan way or the
00:36:16 Pakistan ball, Park ball.
00:36:18 Now, is he trying to be too frivolous
00:36:20 by shoving such concepts
00:36:22 down in modern day game?
00:36:24 Who is responsible for
00:36:26 setting the template? Coach,
00:36:28 team director or the captain?
00:36:30 Who used to set
00:36:32 the template in your time?
00:36:34 Let me start with you, Wasim.
00:36:36 I don't know about this day.
00:36:38 What is the role of the Pakistan team coach?
00:36:40 How strong is our captain in the selection?
00:36:42 Decision making.
00:36:44 In our time, it was the
00:36:46 captain. Starting from great Javed Miadad,
00:36:48 then of course, Imran Khan,
00:36:50 the great man, and then
00:36:52 myself, then Moeen came.
00:36:54 So, the captain
00:36:56 sets the template of how cricket
00:36:58 should be played. Coach and
00:37:00 cricket director advise or
00:37:02 follow it. It should be done.
00:37:04 In our time, it was not there. It was the captain
00:37:06 or coach and a manager.
00:37:08 So, yeah, it was easier then
00:37:10 with less people, I suppose.
00:37:12 I don't know what should be done nowadays.
00:37:14 Especially, I don't know much about the Pakistan team.
00:37:16 Normally, it's
00:37:18 basically the captain
00:37:20 and the coach and
00:37:22 a group
00:37:24 you made, leaders, 3-4
00:37:26 senior players, who
00:37:28 decide how they're going to play.
00:37:30 The main
00:37:32 goal is that you
00:37:34 have to set a target
00:37:36 for different phases.
00:37:38 Say, there are 10 overs,
00:37:40 you set a target according to the wicket.
00:37:42 We need 60 runs, 50 runs,
00:37:44 70 runs.
00:37:46 It's up to you, the player.
00:37:48 If he doesn't hit sixes,
00:37:50 you can hit two fours.
00:37:52 Or hit one four, run and take 3-4
00:37:54 runs.
00:37:56 I understood the question
00:37:58 of Himadri Gautam.
00:38:00 He's saying, as Mickey Arthur said,
00:38:02 it's not the way of Pakistan.
00:38:04 In today's modern day cricket,
00:38:06 everyone hits sixes in the power play.
00:38:08 So, is he trying to impose a forceful concept
00:38:10 to cover the situation of Pakistan?
00:38:12 And secondly, who should
00:38:14 set the target? Is it the team director's
00:38:16 decision to tell,
00:38:18 coach or captain?
00:38:20 So, this is a long question.
00:38:22 Director, you tell us, who is
00:38:24 responsible for this role? Who sets
00:38:26 the template and who does it at your time?
00:38:28 See, basically,
00:38:30 collectively, you do it.
00:38:32 Whether it's the coach or the captain,
00:38:34 mainly,
00:38:36 I think, it's the coach and the captain
00:38:38 who set a target
00:38:40 for anything. What we have to do on this pitch,
00:38:42 how we have to play in 10 overs,
00:38:44 how we have to run,
00:38:46 and then you take others
00:38:48 on board. Because it's very
00:38:50 important that your players
00:38:52 should be on board. And they should
00:38:54 know how we are. Then you
00:38:56 decide and discuss in team meeting.
00:38:58 When there's a batting meeting,
00:39:00 you discuss in that, what's our role,
00:39:02 how we have to play, where we have to go.
00:39:04 So, I think,
00:39:06 the director,
00:39:08 you can understand that he's
00:39:10 not just the team director, but he's
00:39:12 basically the head coach.
00:39:14 And the rest of the staff, whatever they're saying,
00:39:16 whatever decisions they're taking, they're taking.
00:39:18 So, basically, it's team director,
00:39:20 head coach, and the captain.
00:39:22 Alright, fair enough. Do you want to add anything to it?
00:39:24 Well, I think,
00:39:26 like Waseem Bhai said, the captain
00:39:28 is the main force,
00:39:30 who implements it. All the policies
00:39:32 should be made by him.
00:39:34 Shoaib? I've been playing with different people
00:39:36 for four decades.
00:39:38 I started playing with Waseem Bhai,
00:39:40 Mohin Bhai.
00:39:42 I think,
00:39:44 one person's decision always
00:39:46 has more chances of getting success.
00:39:48 If your coach
00:39:50 is strong,
00:39:52 he's the one who's running the show,
00:39:54 then he gives the message.
00:39:56 Then the people below take their way out.
00:39:58 Or if the captain who's running the show,
00:40:00 he gives the message to his players,
00:40:02 then they take their way out. So, messages
00:40:04 do come. And I think,
00:40:06 it depends on the individuals
00:40:08 how they adapt
00:40:10 and play accordingly.
00:40:12 Alright, fair enough. I hope, Himadri Gautam,
00:40:14 you got your answer. With that, we move on.
00:40:16 Susanta Sahu,
00:40:18 @yugosus, is her
00:40:20 Twitter handle.
00:40:22 Susanta Sahu has shared a very interesting thing with us.
00:40:24 This is an article, read on
00:40:26 SportsStarWeb.
00:40:28 It has an interview with Kuldeep Yadav.
00:40:30 Kuldeep Yadav
00:40:32 took to cricket effortlessly and expressed
00:40:34 his desire to model
00:40:36 his game after legendary
00:40:38 Pakistani left arm bowler, Wasim Akram.
00:40:40 But his coach immediately
00:40:42 said, he doesn't have the pace.
00:40:44 He did something very interesting.
00:40:46 I know. Yeah, so this is a very interesting read.
00:40:48 Because this guy, Kuldeep,
00:40:50 when he came to the IPL in the KKR Knight Riders,
00:40:52 I was with the Kolkata
00:40:54 Knight Riders. First, I think
00:40:56 in 2010, I joined. First year,
00:40:58 he was the Ganguly captain.
00:41:00 And then they got Gautam Gambhir.
00:41:02 I think, one of the best captains
00:41:04 I worked with. Very positive.
00:41:06 He is a natural leader.
00:41:08 He leads from the front.
00:41:10 What was the question?
00:41:12 The question...
00:41:14 Oh, sorry, Kuldeep.
00:41:16 He was about 17, 18.
00:41:18 He looked even younger. He looked about 16.
00:41:20 Very enthusiastic. Him and Shami
00:41:22 used to spend time with me.
00:41:24 In the evening, when we came from practice or match,
00:41:26 we used to eat together.
00:41:28 Yusuf was there,
00:41:30 with Shami, with Patan, all these boys.
00:41:32 He told me this story himself.
00:41:34 That he wanted to become a fast bowler,
00:41:36 but my coach said, "Son, you are not tall enough.
00:41:38 So, you should start spinning."
00:41:40 And look, what a spinner he became now.
00:41:42 Absolutely, no question about it.
00:41:44 Dhanesh Alvi's question is in the pavilion.
00:41:46 Dhanesh Alvi, Dhanesh Alvi3, your Twitter handle.
00:41:48 Your question is, "My question to all panelists is,
00:41:50 how essential is it for an experienced
00:41:52 player to be present in major events
00:41:54 like the World Cup? Currently, in every
00:41:56 small or big team, there are
00:41:58 one or two or even
00:42:00 more such senior experienced players
00:42:02 who even if not playing
00:42:04 in the 11,
00:42:06 can be seen
00:42:08 advising players from the bench.
00:42:10 Yesterday, Shami was
00:42:12 advising Siraj on the boundary line.
00:42:14 Pakistan lacks a player or a
00:42:16 mentor with ample experience in
00:42:18 playing one-day cricket. Who could guide
00:42:20 the team? What do you guys think?"
00:42:22 Dhanesh Alvi.
00:42:24 Biswa.
00:42:26 It's a very difficult question.
00:42:28 It's simple.
00:42:30 You can speak to the camera
00:42:32 and say, "Brother, there are
00:42:34 huge issues of egos here.
00:42:36 That's why there is no one."
00:42:38 I think that actually...
00:42:40 Yes, there are a lot of egos. There is a lot of
00:42:42 jealousy factor. That's why there is no one.
00:42:44 This is really sad.
00:42:46 And we'll give an example of how
00:42:48 it was happening in their team yesterday.
00:42:50 Sheryar Arif, Sheryar4, your
00:42:52 Twitter handle is @sheryar4something.
00:42:54 Sheryar Arif's question is, "I have heard
00:42:56 people asking Babar
00:42:58 to step down as captain.
00:43:00 If Babar was to
00:43:02 step down as captain, let's say
00:43:04 after this World Cup, who
00:43:06 else do we have in the pipeline
00:43:08 who can become captain?
00:43:10 Someone with great reading
00:43:12 ability like Steve Waugh or Karl Hooper
00:43:14 or Arsene Williams. Who can
00:43:16 replace Babar Arif if he says
00:43:18 he'll step down as captain?"
00:43:20 It's not the right time. Babar should
00:43:22 not step down right now.
00:43:24 There are six matches left.
00:43:26 He's saying that after the World Cup...
00:43:28 After the World Cup...
00:43:30 At any stage, he's asking...
00:43:32 What I'm trying to say is that
00:43:34 if we take someone's name on this platform
00:43:36 and he's a player in the team,
00:43:38 differences are created. It's very difficult.
00:43:40 It's not the right time to even
00:43:42 discuss on this topic.
00:43:44 That's a very good point. I agree with you.
00:43:46 But if that happens, who will you want?
00:43:48 The vice-captain will be the captain.
00:43:50 I think if Babar steps down
00:43:52 as captain of white ball cricket,
00:43:54 whatever the circumstances
00:43:56 are, Shaheen Shah Freedy
00:43:58 is the right choice.
00:44:00 The way he has fought
00:44:02 Lahore Columbus.
00:44:04 In fact, many of the players
00:44:06 in that team have also said
00:44:08 that he's a very good, aggressive
00:44:10 captain. And I think
00:44:12 white ball cricket...
00:44:14 I can't say about red ball cricket
00:44:16 because sometimes the pace bowler
00:44:18 has to rest in the series
00:44:20 or in the test match. But Shaheen Shah
00:44:22 Freedy is the right choice for
00:44:24 white ball cricket. But if you talk about
00:44:26 the performance of his PSL and Lahore
00:44:28 Columbus team, we must also give that
00:44:30 they have a very strong think tank in
00:44:32 that Lahore Columbus camp.
00:44:34 They have a lot of people that are putting
00:44:36 in a lot of hours into making a really
00:44:38 great champion team. This is why I
00:44:40 gathered all the information. Right.
00:44:42 And most of the decisions taken
00:44:44 by Shaheen Shah Freedy and the
00:44:46 think tank, they back his decisions.
00:44:48 Wonderful. So that's the way the think tank
00:44:50 has to work.
00:44:52 Ali Arsalan
00:44:54 has a question.
00:44:56 What do you think about inclusion of
00:44:58 Sarfaraz, Imad and Mohd. Amir in this team?
00:45:00 Please ask this question.
00:45:02 What was it? Imad,
00:45:04 Sarfaraz and Mohd. Amir
00:45:06 should be included in this team.
00:45:08 Not now. When the team comes from here,
00:45:10 they should be included in the next ODI
00:45:12 series or in the team.
00:45:14 I suppose, what are the criteria?
00:45:16 These guys, if they are playing white ball cricket
00:45:18 in Pakistan, so sure if they perform,
00:45:20 they should get picked up.
00:45:22 Why not? Please don't sing.
00:45:24 I heard you.
00:45:26 Okay.
00:45:28 Let's move on.
00:45:30 There are a lot of questions.
00:45:32 I am skipping because
00:45:34 there are a lot of questions that are being repeated.
00:45:36 They are of the same nature or have
00:45:38 the same meaning. My question for
00:45:40 Shoaib Malik is, Sameer Tariq
00:45:42 is asking you a question.
00:45:44 My question for Shoaib Malik is,
00:45:46 will he play for Karachi Kings in the upcoming
00:45:48 PSL or any other team?
00:45:50 And please ask him about his favorite
00:45:52 innings in his career. Biggest fan of him
00:45:54 since 2012 when he played
00:45:56 a match-winning knock of 57 against India.
00:45:58 Right, Sameer Tariq,
00:46:00 which team will you play for PSL?
00:46:02 PSL, I don't know
00:46:04 which team I will play for. Last year,
00:46:06 I have played for Karachi Kings.
00:46:08 As soon as the PSL dates
00:46:10 come, I will play for PSL.
00:46:12 But yes,
00:46:14 I will play
00:46:16 for PSL.
00:46:18 My second favorite innings
00:46:20 is the test match
00:46:22 that I played.
00:46:24 148 innings in Sri Lanka.
00:46:26 I had a headache.
00:46:28 Because
00:46:30 I had not played for 2 days and
00:46:32 it was so hot.
00:46:34 That was my favorite innings.
00:46:36 Which PSL franchise do you wish to play for?
00:46:38 I think I am left with only one.
00:46:40 (Laughs)
00:46:42 You are left with only one.
00:46:44 He came from the top.
00:46:46 Why are you left with only one?
00:46:48 I am left with two.
00:46:50 You are ahead.
00:46:52 (Laughs)
00:46:54 Both of us are equal.
00:46:56 This is a very good question.
00:46:58 It's a long one but I am going to
00:47:00 read this out.
00:47:02 Question is from the Green Brigade.
00:47:04 This is a group of
00:47:06 outstanding minds in finance
00:47:08 and banking and all
00:47:10 set in Asia.
00:47:12 I think Singapore and onward.
00:47:14 They follow the army type game.
00:47:16 Green Brigade is very active on social media.
00:47:18 This is their question.
00:47:20 Park players need mental coaching and guidance.
00:47:22 We can match bigger teams
00:47:24 in skills but mentally and physically
00:47:26 we need to get tougher.
00:47:28 For each and every player to unlock the mental barriers
00:47:30 we need winning mindset coaching.
00:47:32 Ability to stay focused
00:47:34 in pressure situations is important.
00:47:36 Somehow our boys
00:47:38 are not able to cope with it.
00:47:40 Against small teams you are able to
00:47:42 get away with it but against big teams
00:47:44 it's a whole different ball game.
00:47:46 Mental toughness is key in modern cricket.
00:47:48 How is
00:47:50 Makbool Babri
00:47:52 known as Max Babri, sports
00:47:54 psychologist helping the team?
00:47:56 This is the first part of the question.
00:47:58 What impact does he really have?
00:48:00 This is the second part of the question.
00:48:02 Is individual and independent coaching
00:48:04 required? This is the third part of the question.
00:48:06 The last part is
00:48:08 why don't our players look mentally tough
00:48:10 especially against teams like India?
00:48:12 This is the fourth part.
00:48:14 I'll leave this open.
00:48:16 Who has worked with Max Babri?
00:48:18 I have worked with him.
00:48:20 I think I did as well but
00:48:22 a long time ago I forgot.
00:48:24 I know who he is.
00:48:26 Let's talk about this.
00:48:28 I think when
00:48:30 I did speak to him
00:48:32 during 2012
00:48:34 tour to India, he was with us
00:48:36 and
00:48:38 as a player
00:48:40 you have to
00:48:42 be honest enough to share
00:48:44 what's going on. To trust the other person too.
00:48:46 Of course. Otherwise it can't happen.
00:48:48 No one can help you.
00:48:50 But you don't want
00:48:52 to tell everyone
00:48:54 and then after 6 months
00:48:56 if the contract is over, you write a book.
00:48:58 No, he's not like that.
00:49:00 I'm not saying they're not.
00:49:02 They are all professionals
00:49:04 but I did
00:49:06 speak to him
00:49:08 whatever I was going
00:49:10 through. He did
00:49:12 give me a lot of solutions
00:49:14 to deal with them.
00:49:16 It was a short period
00:49:18 of tour.
00:49:20 I guess it was
00:49:22 1 days and 2 T20s.
00:49:24 He definitely helped me
00:49:26 with the things I shared with him.
00:49:28 It does help.
00:49:30 I was helped.
00:49:32 But it should be done
00:49:34 on a consistent basis.
00:49:36 Because our culture
00:49:38 is that we have mental
00:49:40 issues. We need
00:49:42 mental health a lot.
00:49:44 Because our
00:49:46 culture has
00:49:48 a lot of family issues.
00:49:50 And it's normal.
00:49:52 It's normal if you go to
00:49:54 a doctor.
00:49:56 But with this kind of help
00:49:58 they give you solutions
00:50:00 that will help you
00:50:02 in your profession.
00:50:04 To focus more.
00:50:06 Or stay focused
00:50:08 during the tour.
00:50:10 It was a good experience
00:50:12 with him.
00:50:14 In fact, I have
00:50:16 some friends.
00:50:18 Because life is all about ups and downs.
00:50:20 And your friends
00:50:22 do share your personal things
00:50:24 with them. And they give you guidance.
00:50:26 If you are giving someone guidance
00:50:28 and you have this responsibility
00:50:30 then you should not give guidance
00:50:32 to others by keeping your nature in front.
00:50:34 The one who is asking for guidance
00:50:36 should see
00:50:38 what kind of a person he is.
00:50:40 So you should give him guidance.
00:50:42 Especially, he is a mental doctor.
00:50:44 Yes, Mr. Mishra.
00:50:46 The positive mindset you talked about
00:50:48 especially, we talk about
00:50:50 taking chances, playing attacking cricket
00:50:52 why is that not happening?
00:50:54 The biggest reason for that is
00:50:56 insecurities. Like Malik said yesterday
00:50:58 and we keep saying
00:51:00 our system is full of insecurities.
00:51:02 We have a safety first approach.
00:51:04 If you want to perform well
00:51:06 or you don't know
00:51:08 if you are playing for the team's goal
00:51:10 and the person
00:51:12 who is giving you assurance
00:51:14 whether it's a coaching staff or a selector
00:51:16 they know that after the tour
00:51:18 that's not the case.
00:51:20 So, all this consistency
00:51:22 assurance
00:51:24 security
00:51:26 throughout, till the end
00:51:28 in your system, I trust
00:51:30 the coach and he is telling me how to play.
00:51:32 I am not sure
00:51:34 whether the coach is going to be there after this tour or not.
00:51:36 I understand. Let me quickly
00:51:38 ask you this. Quickly.
00:51:40 It's about the impact.
00:51:42 What impact can there be?
00:51:44 But you guys have already told us about the consequences.
00:51:46 Individual and independent
00:51:48 mental coaching required?
00:51:50 Or all together, the whole team
00:51:52 sitting together for mental coaching?
00:51:54 That team building
00:51:56 team bonding, whenever we have done
00:51:58 before a big event, before a series
00:52:00 you remember England series?
00:52:02 2009, before the World Cup, we were on the board.
00:52:04 It always helped the team.
00:52:06 It always helps the team.
00:52:08 As a team, what we do. But
00:52:10 individual is very important.
00:52:12 And you have to put in the effort yourself.
00:52:14 You have literature, videos
00:52:16 so many motivational
00:52:18 speakers.
00:52:20 You have to work on yourself.
00:52:22 When you feel down,
00:52:24 just go there.
00:52:26 Listen to their lectures
00:52:28 and see them.
00:52:30 It's a certain change. Very soon
00:52:32 you will see a different kind of change.
00:52:34 Very good. And I hope
00:52:36 the Green Brigade got some answers out of that
00:52:38 entire discussion from Shoaib and Misfah.
00:52:40 With that, we are going to take a break right here on
00:52:42 the Pavilion. But when we come back, there are more
00:52:44 questions for Ask The Pavilion on the other side.
00:52:46 Don't go away. Keep watching.
00:52:48 Welcome back
00:53:06 to the Pavilion. I am Fakhr-e-Anam. You are watching
00:53:08 Esports and Sports and the ARY Zap app.
00:53:10 And before we go on the break, we have cut
00:53:12 the third anniversary cake of Esports
00:53:14 here.
00:53:16 The cake is here. We've had a few bites.
00:53:18 But yes.
00:53:20 With me in the Pavilion, I've got
00:53:22 four great cricketing minds.
00:53:24 Four former captains of Pakistan. I've got Shoaib Malik,
00:53:26 Miss Bawla, Muin Khan and
00:53:28 Wasim Akram. And now
00:53:30 we will start your favourite
00:53:32 segment which is
00:53:34 Ask The Pavilion.
00:53:36 Many questions are piling up.
00:53:38 And we like
00:53:40 to take as many questions as possible.
00:53:42 The first question of the day
00:53:44 is from
00:53:46 Himadri Gautam. Himadri Gautam
00:53:48 is asking. #AskThePavilion
00:53:50 is on your screen. You can send us
00:53:52 questions with it.
00:53:54 The question is,
00:53:56 Mickey Arthur defended Pakistan batter's approach
00:53:58 yesterday claiming not hitting sixes
00:54:00 early is the Pakistan
00:54:02 way or the Pakistan ball.
00:54:04 Now is he trying to be
00:54:06 too frivolous by shoving such
00:54:08 concepts down in
00:54:10 modern day game? Who is
00:54:12 responsible for setting the template?
00:54:14 Coach, team director
00:54:16 or the captain?
00:54:18 Who used to set the template in your time?
00:54:20 That's the question. Let me start with you Wasim
00:54:22 and then everybody can answer. Yeah, I don't know about
00:54:24 this day. What is the role of the Pakistan team's
00:54:26 coach? How strong is
00:54:28 our captain in the selection?
00:54:30 Decision making. But in our time,
00:54:32 it was the captain. Starting
00:54:34 from great Javed Mianad, then of course
00:54:36 Imran Khan, the great man
00:54:38 and then myself
00:54:40 then Moeen came.
00:54:42 The captain sets the template
00:54:44 on how cricket should be played.
00:54:46 Coach and cricket director
00:54:48 advise or follow it.
00:54:50 It should be done. In our time,
00:54:52 there was no captain. There was a coach
00:54:54 and a manager. So yeah, it was
00:54:56 easier then with less people I suppose.
00:54:58 I don't know what should be done
00:55:00 or what happens. Especially, I don't know
00:55:02 much about the team. Normally,
00:55:04 it's basically
00:55:06 the captain and the coach
00:55:08 and
00:55:10 the group you made,
00:55:12 leaders, 3-4 senior players
00:55:14 who decide
00:55:16 how they're going to play.
00:55:18 The main aim is
00:55:20 that you have to set a target
00:55:22 for different phases.
00:55:24 Say, there are 10 overs
00:55:26 and you set a target for the wicket.
00:55:28 We need 60 runs
00:55:30 or 50 runs or 70 runs.
00:55:32 It's up to you
00:55:34 as a player. Maybe, if he doesn't
00:55:36 hit sixes, you can hit two fours
00:55:38 or one four.
00:55:40 Run and take 3-4 runs.
00:55:42 The question that Himadri Gautam
00:55:44 is asking, I understood it a little more
00:55:46 and he's saying, like Mickey Arthur
00:55:48 said, this is not the way of Pakistan.
00:55:50 In today's modern day cricket,
00:55:52 everyone starts with power play,
00:55:54 hits sixes. So, is he trying to
00:55:56 impose a forceful concept to
00:55:58 cover this situation?
00:56:00 And secondly, who is going to set this?
00:56:02 Is it the team director's decision
00:56:04 to decide, the coach
00:56:06 or the captain?
00:56:08 This is a long answer.
00:56:10 Who is responsible for this role?
00:56:12 Who sets the template
00:56:14 and who does it at your time?
00:56:16 Basically, you do it collectively.
00:56:18 Whether it's the coach
00:56:20 or the captain,
00:56:22 mainly, I think, it's the coach
00:56:24 and the captain who set
00:56:26 the template of anything.
00:56:28 What we have to do on this pitch,
00:56:30 how we have to play in 10 overs,
00:56:32 how to run. And then you
00:56:34 take others on board.
00:56:36 Because it's very important
00:56:38 that your players should be on board
00:56:40 and they should know
00:56:42 how we are. Then you decide
00:56:44 and discuss in team meeting.
00:56:46 When there's a meeting, you discuss
00:56:48 what's our role,
00:56:50 how we have to play, where we have to go.
00:56:52 So, I think, the director
00:56:54 is almost like a team director.
00:56:56 But he's basically the head coach.
00:56:58 Right.
00:57:00 And the rest of the staff,
00:57:02 they are the ones who decide.
00:57:04 So, basically, it's the team director,
00:57:06 head coach and the captain.
00:57:08 Alright, fair enough.
00:57:10 Do you want to add anything to it?
00:57:12 I think, like Vaseem said,
00:57:14 the captain is the main force
00:57:16 who implements it.
00:57:18 He should make all the policies.
00:57:20 Shoaib?
00:57:22 I've played with many different people.
00:57:24 I've played with Vaseem Bhai,
00:57:26 Mohin Bhai, I've played with many people.
00:57:28 I think,
00:57:30 one person's decision
00:57:32 always has more chances of getting success.
00:57:34 Fair enough.
00:57:36 If your coach is strong,
00:57:38 he's the one who's
00:57:40 running the show, then he gives the message.
00:57:42 Then the people below take their way out.
00:57:44 Or if the captain who's running
00:57:46 the show, he gives the message to his players,
00:57:48 then they take their way out.
00:57:50 So, the messages definitely come.
00:57:52 And I think, they meet.
00:57:54 It just depends on the individuals
00:57:56 how they adapt and play accordingly.
00:57:58 Alright, fair enough.
00:58:00 I hope, Himadri Gautam, you got your answer.
00:58:02 With that, we move on.
00:58:04 Susanta Sahu,
00:58:06 @yugosus, is her Twitter handle.
00:58:08 Susanta Sahu has shared
00:58:10 a very interesting article with us.
00:58:12 Read on SportsStarWeb.
00:58:14 It has an interview with Kuldeep Yadav.
00:58:16 Kuldeep Yadav
00:58:18 took to cricket effortlessly
00:58:20 and expressed his desire
00:58:22 to model his game after
00:58:24 legendary Pakistani left arm
00:58:26 bowler, Wasim Akram.
00:58:28 But his coach immediately said
00:58:30 he doesn't have the pace.
00:58:32 This is a very interesting thing.
00:58:34 I know.
00:58:36 When Kuldeep came to the
00:58:38 KKR Knight Riders,
00:58:40 I was with Kolkata Knight Riders.
00:58:42 I joined in 2010.
00:58:44 First year, I was a Ganguly captain.
00:58:46 Then, they got Gautam Gambhiru.
00:58:48 I think, he is one of the
00:58:50 best captains I worked with.
00:58:52 Very positive.
00:58:54 He is a natural leader.
00:58:56 He leads from the front.
00:58:58 What was the question?
00:59:00 Oh, Kuldeep. Sorry.
00:59:02 He was about 17-18.
00:59:04 He looked even younger.
00:59:06 He looked about 16.
00:59:08 Very enthusiastic. Him and Shami used to spend time with me.
00:59:10 So, when we used to come from practice
00:59:12 or from the match,
00:59:14 we used to eat together.
00:59:16 Yusuf was with him.
00:59:18 All these boys. He told me this story himself.
00:59:20 He wanted to become a fast bowler
00:59:22 after seeing me. But my coach said,
00:59:24 "Son, you don't have the pace.
00:59:26 Start spinning."
00:59:28 Look, what a spinner he became now.
00:59:30 Absolutely. No question about it.
00:59:32 Dhanesh Alvi has a question.
00:59:34 Your Twitter handle is @dhaneshalvi3.
00:59:36 My question to all the panelists is
00:59:38 how essential is it for an experienced player
00:59:40 to be present in major events like the World Cup?
00:59:42 Currently, in every small or big team,
00:59:44 there are one or two
00:59:46 or even more such senior
00:59:48 experienced players who even
00:59:50 if not playing
00:59:52 in the 11th
00:59:54 can be seen advising players
00:59:56 from the bench. Yesterday,
00:59:58 Shami was advising Siraj
01:00:00 on the boundary line. Pakistan
01:00:02 lacks a player or a mentor with ample
01:00:04 experience in playing one-day cricket.
01:00:06 Who could guide the team? What do you guys think?
01:00:08 Dhanesh Alvi.
01:00:10 Mishpa.
01:00:12 That's a difficult question.
01:00:16 It's simple.
01:00:18 You can point the camera
01:00:20 and say, "There are a lot of
01:00:22 ego issues here."
01:00:24 That's not the reason.
01:00:26 There are a lot of
01:00:28 ego issues and jealousy factors.
01:00:30 That's not the reason.
01:00:32 This is really sad.
01:00:34 We'll give an example of how it was in their team.
01:00:36 @sheryar4
01:00:38 Your Twitter handle is @sheryar4 something.
01:00:40 Sheryar Arif has a question.
01:00:42 I have heard people asking
01:00:44 Babar to step down as
01:00:46 captain. If Babar
01:00:48 was to step down as captain,
01:00:50 let's say after this World Cup,
01:00:52 who else do we have
01:00:54 in the pipeline who can become
01:00:56 captain? Someone with great
01:00:58 reading ability like Steve Waugh
01:01:00 or Karl Hooper, who can
01:01:02 replace Babar Arif?
01:01:04 If Babar Arif says, "I'll play as captain."
01:01:06 It's not the right time.
01:01:08 Babar Arif should not step down.
01:01:10 There are 6 matches left.
01:01:12 He's saying that after the World Cup,
01:01:14 he should ask that question.
01:01:16 At any stage, he should ask that question.
01:01:18 What I'm trying to say is
01:01:20 if we take someone's name on this platform,
01:01:22 and he's a player in the team,
01:01:24 differences are created.
01:01:26 It's not the right time
01:01:28 to even discuss on this topic.
01:01:30 That's a very good point. I agree with you.
01:01:32 But if that happens,
01:01:34 who will you choose?
01:01:36 The vice-captain will be the captain.
01:01:38 I think if Babar steps down
01:01:40 as a white-ball cricketer,
01:01:42 whatever the circumstances are,
01:01:44 Shaheen Shah Fridi is the right choice.
01:01:46 The way he has fought
01:01:48 Lahore Columbus,
01:01:50 and the other players
01:01:52 who are a part of that team,
01:01:54 they also said that he's a good,
01:01:56 aggressive captain.
01:01:58 I think that white-ball cricket,
01:02:00 I can't say about red-ball cricket
01:02:02 that he has to rest
01:02:04 as a pace bowler
01:02:06 or in a series or a test match.
01:02:08 But Shaheen Shah Fridi
01:02:10 is the right choice for white-ball cricket.
01:02:12 If you talk about his performance
01:02:14 in PSL and Lahore Columbus,
01:02:16 we must also give that they have
01:02:18 a very strong think tank in that Lahore Columbus camp.
01:02:20 They have a lot of people
01:02:22 that are putting in a lot of hours
01:02:24 into making a really great champion team.
01:02:26 This is why I gathered all the information.
01:02:28 And most of the decisions
01:02:30 are taken by Shaheen Shah Fridi.
01:02:32 And the think tank backs
01:02:34 his decisions.
01:02:36 Wonderful. So that's the way
01:02:38 the think tank has to work.
01:02:40 Ali Arsalan has a question.
01:02:42 What do you think about inclusion
01:02:44 of Sarfaraz, Imaad, and
01:02:46 Mohammad Aamir in this team?
01:02:48 Please ask this question.
01:02:50 What was it?
01:02:52 That Imaad, Sarfaraz, and Mohammad Aamir
01:02:54 should be included in this team.
01:02:56 Not now.
01:02:58 I suppose
01:03:00 the criteria is
01:03:02 these guys, if they're playing
01:03:04 white ball cricket in Pakistan,
01:03:06 so sure if they perform, they should get picked up.
01:03:08 Why not?
01:03:10 Everybody has a right to perform
01:03:12 and then represent and play for their country.
01:03:14 This is as simple.
01:03:16 Abdullah Shami has a question.
01:03:18 He's in the pavilion.
01:03:20 He says, "Assalamu Alaikum to all."
01:03:22 "Walaikum Assalam."
01:03:24 "It bit Gulkan,
01:03:26 "Khala Hain Waseem Pain Tu."
01:03:28 "Waseem Bhai, in the joy of Afghanistan's victory,
01:03:30 "please tell us now
01:03:32 "if Dhani will play the next match
01:03:34 "and tell us the meaning of 'It bit Gulkan'."
01:03:36 Now.
01:03:38 Please tell us.
01:03:40 You made this up.
01:03:42 I swear to God, if this is made up.
01:03:44 It's there.
01:03:46 I don't make it up. I just read what I keep.
01:03:48 Get on my screen.
01:03:50 You're a funny boy. I like it. Good sense of humor.
01:03:52 You didn't even answer.
01:03:54 You just read what 'It bit Gulkan' is.
01:03:56 I can't say that.
01:03:58 I can't say the proper one on TV.
01:04:00 If you meet me, I'll tell you.
01:04:02 It's not very nice.
01:04:04 But you didn't tell anyone.
01:04:06 Yeah.
01:04:08 Can Dhani play?
01:04:10 Yeah. By all means.
01:04:12 You're making Dhani cry.
01:04:14 But you should also tell him to stop singing.
01:04:16 Yeah, actually.
01:04:18 Dhani, love you, buddy.
01:04:20 Please don't sing.
01:04:22 Okay.
01:04:24 Let's move on.
01:04:26 There are a lot of questions.
01:04:28 I'm skipping them because
01:04:30 there are a lot of questions that are being repeated.
01:04:32 They are of the same nature.
01:04:34 They have the same meaning.
01:04:36 My question for Shoaib Malik is
01:04:38 Sameer Tariq is asking you a question.
01:04:40 My question for Shoaib Malik is
01:04:42 Will he play for Karaki Kings in the upcoming PSL
01:04:44 or any other team?
01:04:46 And please ask him about his favorite innings in his career.
01:04:48 Biggest fan of him since 2012
01:04:50 when he played a match-winning
01:04:52 knock-off 57 against India.
01:04:54 Sameer Tariq is asking you a question.
01:04:56 Which team will you play for PSL?
01:04:58 PSL, I don't know
01:05:00 which team I will play for.
01:05:02 Last year I played for Karachi Kings.
01:05:04 As soon as the PSL dates are near
01:05:06 I will play for PSL.
01:05:08 But yes,
01:05:10 I will play
01:05:12 for PSL.
01:05:14 And my second favorite innings
01:05:16 is the test match
01:05:18 I played for Karachi Kings.
01:05:20 I played 148 innings
01:05:22 in Sri Lanka.
01:05:24 I had a headache.
01:05:26 I had to play for 2 days
01:05:28 and it was so hot.
01:05:30 But that was my favorite innings.
01:05:32 Which PSL franchise do you love to play for?
01:05:34 I think there is one left.
01:05:36 (Laughs)
01:05:38 (Laughs)
01:05:40 He came from the top.
01:05:42 Why do you think there is one left?
01:05:44 There are two left.
01:05:46 (Laughs)
01:05:48 (Laughs)
01:05:50 We are both equal.
01:05:52 This is a very good question.
01:05:54 It's a long one but I am going to
01:05:56 read this out.
01:05:58 The question is from the Green Brigade.
01:06:00 This is a group of
01:06:02 outstanding minds in
01:06:04 finance and banking and all
01:06:06 set in Asia.
01:06:08 I think Singapore and onward.
01:06:10 They follow the army type.
01:06:12 The Green Brigade is very active on social media.
01:06:14 This is the question.
01:06:16 (Reads question)
01:06:18 (Reads question)
01:06:20 (Reads question)
01:06:22 (Reads question)
01:06:24 (Reads question)
01:06:26 is we need winning mindset coaching. Ability to stay focused in pressure situations is
01:06:32 important and somehow our boys are not able to cope with it. Against small teams you are
01:06:37 able to get away with it but against big teams it's a whole different ball game. Mental toughness
01:06:43 is key in modern cricket. How is Maqbool Babri known as Max Babri sports psychologist helping
01:06:51 the team? What impact does he really have? Is there individual and independent mental
01:07:00 coaching required? Why don't our players look mentally tough especially against teams like
01:07:08 India?
01:07:11 I did speak to him during 2012 tour to India. He was with us. As a player you have to be
01:07:38 honest enough to share what's going on. To trust the other person. Of course. Otherwise
01:07:43 it's not possible. No one can help you. But you don't want to tell someone everything
01:07:51 and then after 6 months they find out that the contract is over and you write a book
01:07:54 for them. No he's not like that. No he's not. I'm not saying they're not. There's
01:07:58 ethics but sometimes it happens. They're all professionals but I did speak to him whatever
01:08:05 I was going through. He did give me a lot of solutions to deal with them. It was a short
01:08:13 period of time. 1 day and 2 T20s. He helped me with that. It does help. But it should
01:08:30 be a one time thing. Our culture is that we have mental health issues. We have a lot of
01:08:44 family issues. It's normal. It's normal to go to someone's house. But with this kind
01:08:52 of help, they give you solutions that will help you in your profession. To focus more.
01:09:02 Or stay focused during the tour. It was a good experience for me. I got help with that
01:09:10 tour. In fact, I have some friends. Life is all about ups and downs. You do share your
01:09:19 personal things with them. They give you guidance. If you're giving someone guidance
01:09:24 and you've been given this responsibility, you shouldn't just give guidance to others
01:09:29 but to yourself. The person who's asking for guidance should see what kind of a person
01:09:35 they are. You should give them guidance. Especially, educate the mental toughest.
01:09:40 The positive mindset you've talked about, especially taking chances, playing attacking
01:09:50 cricket, why that's not happening. The biggest reason for that is insecurities. Like Malik
01:09:54 said yesterday, we keep saying that our system is full of insecurities. Safety first approach
01:10:00 is ours. If you want to perform well, or you don't know, you're playing for the team
01:10:07 and the person who's giving you assurance, be it coaching staff or the selector, they
01:10:13 know that you won't get the same after the tour. So, all this consistency, assurance,
01:10:20 security, it's throughout your system. I trust the coach. I'm not sure if the coach
01:10:30 will be there after this tour or not.
01:10:32 Fair enough. I understand. Let me quickly ask you this. Quickly. Just very quickly.
01:10:36 We'll talk about the impact, but you've already told us what are the consequences.
01:10:42 Individual or independent mental coaching required? Individual or all together?
01:10:47 The whole team together, sitting together, mental coaching or individual?
01:10:50 That's team building, team bonding. Whenever we've done it, before a big event, before
01:10:56 England's series, before the 2009 World Cup, we went to Bourbon. It always helped the team.
01:11:02 It always helped the team.
01:11:03 As a team, what we do. But, individual is very important. And you have to put in the effort.
01:11:10 You have literature, videos, so many motivational speakers. You have to work on yourself. When
01:11:18 you feel down, just go there. Listen to their lectures, see them. It's a certain change.
01:11:27 Very soon, you'll see a different kind of change.
01:11:31 Very good. And I hope the Green Brigade got some answers out of that entire discussion
01:11:35 from Shoaib and Misfa. With that, we're going to take a break right here on the pavilion.
01:11:38 But when we come back, there are more questions for Ask The Pavilion on the other side.
01:11:41 Don't go away. Keep watching.
01:11:43 [Music]
01:11:58 Welcome back to the pavilion. I'm Fakhr-e-Anam. You're watching Esports,
01:12:00 Emsports and the AYZ app. Our continued coverage of the ICC World Cup 2023 from India.
01:12:04 Khabar New Delhi. Today, Afghanistan has defeated England. And congratulations to Afghanistan.
01:12:09 #AskThePavilion's series of questions was on. Let me quickly add a few things.
01:12:12 Abdullah Shami, who asked about Admit Gulkan, he sent the following message.
01:12:18 You said, "Meet me." So tell me where I should meet you.
01:12:21 So you'll have to tell them where you can meet them.
01:12:23 Call me here, at the AYZ.
01:12:24 Yes, here.
01:12:25 Come to the office, son.
01:12:26 Exactly.
01:12:27 First, let's check which city he's from.
01:12:30 Anyway, I said I'll bring it on record so that they know that we've asked their question.
01:12:34 And we've done that.
01:12:35 Jan Muhammad's question is, "Fakhr-e-Alam, which oil do you use in your hair?"
01:12:38 Tara Meera.
01:12:39 Tara Meera.
01:12:41 That's why he speaks so fast.
01:12:43 Tara Meera.
01:12:44 I'll put the gel that you get here from the makeup artists on my head.
01:12:49 Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera has appreciated the question from the Green Brigade about Team Psychologist.
01:12:55 And he has sent a message for you.
01:12:57 He said, "Please my salam to Wasim Akram. He's always been a hero for me.
01:13:02 I really appreciate the insightful comments of Shoaib Malik, Ms. Walhaq as well.
01:13:05 Wish you guys all the best."
01:13:06 Thank you very much, Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera.
01:13:07 Thank you, Ahmed.
01:13:08 He's telling us about his daughter.
01:13:09 She was number one in golf in Pakistan at one point.
01:13:11 And then she went on a full scholarship to the United States.
01:13:13 And he had done a lot of sessions with Max Bavri.
01:13:16 And he said that it really helped her game, improve her, you know, to get rid of her weak points.
01:13:23 That's incredible.
01:13:24 So, thank you, Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera.
01:13:25 And with that, gentlemen, I'd like to say that there is another match tomorrow.
01:13:28 So we have to be here again.
01:13:29 This is coming on your screen.
01:13:30 Tomorrow's match, for which we'll be back.
01:13:33 Tomorrow, Australia versus Sri Lanka.
01:13:35 This will also be a great match.
01:13:36 It will be at 1.30 pm in Lucknow.
01:13:38 It will be brought to you by Baray Raast.
01:13:40 We'll be there at 12 pm tomorrow afternoon.
01:13:42 Australia versus Sri Lanka.
01:13:43 This should be a good game of cricket.
01:13:44 With that, I'd like to say thank you, Shoaib Malik.
01:13:46 Thank you.
01:13:47 Thank you, Moin.
01:13:48 Thank you, Fagha.
01:13:48 Thank you, Misma.
