J. J. Light was the stage name of Navajo singer Jim Stallings, who played bass on several Sir Douglas Quintet albums. "Heya" was an international hit in 1969, and was covered by German hard rock band Jeronimo, by Adriano Celentano, The Primevals, Krokus and others.The song begins with a Native American-like chant and reflects Stallings' ancestry.
