00:00 Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology's alumni body will be looking
00:05 to preserve the institution's rich history and journey through the launch of the TARC
00:10 Red Bricks Journey project.
00:13 The project will see the compilation of the many important memories, stories and milestones
00:18 from its students, staff, alumni, former staff and friends of the Tunku Abdul Rahman College.
00:25 Speaking at the launch of the project on Wednesday, TARC Education Foundation Board of Trustees
00:30 Chairman and MCA President, Dr Sri Dr Wee Kha Siong, commented the project as an important
00:36 reminder for future generations to look back on.
00:40 If not for Tun Tan Sil Sin's vision and Tan Sri Koh Kai Boo's dedicated efforts,
00:48 TARC UMT would not exist today.
00:53 These two gentlemen did not just lead by example, they became the inspiration to many other
01:01 MCA leaders, pioneers, passions that came after them who continue to carry out their
01:08 vision, mission and aspirations up until today.
01:13 The collected memories and important documents will be displayed in a new gallery in the
01:18 TARC UMT Kuala Lumpur campus, which is expected to be completed by 2024.
01:24 Having accomplished much in the last five decades, it is only right that we recognise
01:32 and archive the TARC story for the future generation to understand and appreciate the
01:39 journey we have been through.
01:42 TARC, a red brick journey, will be exactly that, a culmination of memories and experiences
01:49 people had of TARC that must be shared with everyone, especially all Martians.
01:58 3, 2, 1, action!
02:02 Also present at the event was TARC UMT Alumni Council Chairman and Board of Governors Member,
02:08 Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy.
02:10 For Martians, red bricks is a family name, often associated with the actual red coloured
02:18 bricks of the many buildings on campus.
02:23 Each brick that was put in place represents a unified effort by Malaysians for the sole
02:32 purpose of ensuring every Malaysian has the opportunity to pursue quality tertiary education.
02:43 Tarsians and those interested in contributing to the project can contact the University's
02:48 Department of Alumni Relations.
02:50 Thank you.
