SABATON - Poltava (Cover by Valerie Chudentsova feat. Max Molodtsov) {Ukrainian version}

Hello, guys!! Today we prepared something very special. As you might know we’re huge Sabaton fans and it’s difficult to choose just one favourite song. But there is one tune that is deeply connected with us. And the name of this song is “Poltava”. Poltava is just nearly 145 kilometers (90 miles) away from the city we live in (Kharkiv).

And from here we dive into history for a minute or two. Let’s travel into early 17-th century for a while. When Karl XII and his mighty troops marched across the Europe, conquering the lands, they reached Poltava – a small town in northeastern part of Ukraine. That was the place where two great armies clashed. Many thousands of Swedish soldiers found their death on a battlefield. With that being said we must remember the courage and self-sacrifice of the fallen. Lest we forget the famous Ukrainian Cossacks that fought side-by-side with Swedes.

We decided to give this awesome song a new breath by translating the lyrics to our native language and recording it that way. So, what you’re hearing is Ukrainian.

Enjoy the song, study history and come to Poltava to visit a great museum dedicated to the Battle of Poltava. Check the info here: http://www.battle-poltava.org/eng/tours/
