A proud Bas de Leede said that it's "a very special occasion" for him and the other Netherlands players to be among the world's elite and compete in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. The Netherlands last played in an ODI World Cup in 2011. For the young all-rounder, it's also about continuing a family legacy. His father, Tim, was a member of the teams that competed in the 1996, 2003 and 2007 World Cups. (Video: ICC)

00:11 but also on the field, taking a moment sometimes during the game to soak up what's happening.
00:18 Obviously a very special occasion for me and the other guys. On the cricketing front, take
00:26 care of the small things. He's always been letting me go free and try and play my own
00:34 game and not be too involved. I chatted to him about his memories from World Cups, which
00:40 is a nice thing, but other than that, not much.
