00:00 Hey Harper's Bazaar, it's Kesha.
00:02 You wanna go to bed with me?
00:03 [upbeat music]
00:06 So I'm in New York City for New York Fashion Week
00:10 and I'm about to go on tour.
00:12 So I'm very used to living out of a suitcase.
00:14 So I just bring the essentials, which is very hard for me.
00:17 My skin type has always been really dry.
00:21 Two months ago I started getting pimples,
00:23 so that's really awesome.
00:25 So I've completely had to readjust my routine
00:28 and it's really annoying when you're just hyper-focused
00:31 on your one flaw and then you get to shift to the next one.
00:35 Awesome to be 36 with pimples.
00:38 So let's get into my routine.
00:39 First up, I have this cleansing balm
00:42 that really helps the lashes come off and all the makeup.
00:45 To be honest with you, I don't know where this came from,
00:48 but it's great.
00:49 It's crystal hearts.
00:52 I have no idea, but someone sent it to me
00:54 and it's phenomenal.
00:56 So now I lube up the eyeballs.
01:00 As much as I love makeup,
01:03 it's one of the funnest parts of my job.
01:07 I can't wait to get it off my face
01:09 at the end of the night, my God.
01:11 So then I wash this off and then we'll wash again.
01:14 Okay, we have naked eyeballs.
01:23 I feel like I look like a baby hamster with no eye makeup.
01:26 Now I have naked eyes, but I need to wash all over,
01:29 like get all the makeup off.
01:30 And I've been working with a facialist and dermatologist
01:34 just because I've had a lot of problems in my life, honey,
01:37 but pimples were never one of them.
01:40 So they're like my new friends.
01:43 So they've told me to try different cleansers.
01:46 This one, Dr. Dennis Gross, my new cleanser,
01:52 melt away cleanser.
01:53 I like to have my face kind of damp when I wash
02:01 and I just like to be really lubed up
02:05 and then I roast under an LED light,
02:07 but I just put it on dry.
02:10 I think we're covered.
02:11 We're rinses off.
02:12 When I've done like a lot of makeup,
02:20 I sometimes will wash a third time.
02:24 So after I clean my face,
02:27 I usually do a mask of some sort.
02:29 So this mask I love.
02:31 I also sometimes do a sheet mask.
02:36 That's really my like me times doing the sheet mask,
02:42 but for tonight, feeling kind of lazy.
02:45 So I'll go straight into a toner.
02:50 I love this toner.
02:52 It's like beauty's secret hack.
02:57 This toner rules.
02:58 Everybody, you know, and if you don't, you gotta try it.
03:02 It's like next level.
03:04 It smells horrible, but that's when you know it's working.
03:08 Like, you know, it's good when it kind of smells
03:10 like cat pee and gasoline.
03:12 Love it.
03:15 And I'll use it on a pad, ideally.
03:19 But I resort to toilet paper in certain hotel rooms.
03:23 I'm not above saying that.
03:25 And I just, it kind of tingles a little bit.
03:30 Oh, it's so good.
03:32 So I started getting into skincare when I was younger
03:34 'cause I had freckles and a lot of people
03:37 would cover them up in posts,
03:39 like Photoshop them out and blur them.
03:41 So I started feeling really insecure
03:43 that I had not only some freckles,
03:46 but like a ton of freckles.
03:48 Then I decided to lean into it and kind of make it my thing.
03:53 And now I love my freckles.
03:54 Like I think they're so cute.
03:55 And I have friends that get them tattooed on now.
03:57 So everybody else wants to like erase and delete.
04:01 I'm making this pretty as possible.
04:03 And then I started touring.
04:05 Every night it would be like full drag makeup,
04:09 like so intense, face tapes, wigs, you name it.
04:14 And then I would pour glitter on top of my face with beer
04:18 because that was a good idea.
04:21 I don't know.
04:22 Don't do that.
04:23 I got a very bad skin rash from doing that.
04:26 That was a terrible idea.
04:28 But I then found adhesives.
04:31 I think that part of my new routine of letting my freckles
04:37 and my face shine and not covering up with so much makeup
04:40 has been an acceptance of self and what I look like.
04:44 And it feels more raw and vulnerable now.
04:48 Okay, the next step in no particular order,
04:51 I just always need to moisturize my lips
04:53 after I've been putting a bunch of matte lipstick on all day.
04:57 So this is Indie Wild, a dewy lip treatment.
05:03 Let's dewy up our lips.
05:10 Like flying and living on a bus is so dehydrating.
05:15 The fashion week moment today was like matte lip,
05:20 but that can be very drying.
05:22 But then at the end of the night, I just drench.
05:24 I give my skin back all the goodness.
05:28 So next I do one of two things.
05:32 It's a mashup, right?
05:34 You never know.
05:35 This is Oak Essentials.
05:37 Just feels really good.
05:38 Look at the color.
05:40 It's so blue.
05:41 Sucker for it.
05:42 Oh, that smells so good.
05:49 But then here's the wild card.
05:50 I get this.
05:53 This is fun.
05:54 Like if I do a lip treatment,
05:57 then I'll just like put her on
05:59 while I like bullshit around.
06:02 'Cause it also looks cool.
06:04 Like I kind of love it, right?
06:06 Hot.
06:07 So this is an LED mask.
06:09 Again, Dr. Dennis Gross.
06:11 Love him.
06:12 Rules.
06:13 And the LED is supposed to help create collagen production.
06:18 So I have one like this.
06:21 I have a full face one.
06:23 And then I have a body one.
06:24 It's called a Saluma Light.
06:26 And I travel with it everywhere.
06:28 People ask me if it works.
06:29 I don't know.
06:30 But just in case it does, I use the shit out of it.
06:35 So I'll wear this.
06:38 Do my lip treatment.
06:39 Or just kind of hang.
06:43 Make some phone calls.
06:44 So this I'll usually leave on for like 10 minutes.
06:47 But 'cause you're getting ready with me.
06:50 I'll speed up the process.
06:53 Now I just go hardcore moisturizer.
06:56 So I have a couple different ones.
06:58 And I mix in a little retinol.
07:01 So this is the moisturizer I use.
07:05 Augustine's Baiter.
07:06 I'm not stingy with it.
07:08 (upbeat music)
07:10 I love this cream because it's rich.
07:15 It's thick.
07:16 It's super moisturizing.
07:18 And my skin is historically just so dry.
07:21 And from travel, like it does dry you out.
07:24 My facialist recommended this cream.
07:29 And I just am addicted to it.
07:31 So next I would mix in a little bit of retinol
07:35 with another moisturizer.
07:38 Rescue Retinol with Ultra Repair Cream right now
07:42 'cause I'm super extra dry.
07:45 I get like a big chunk of it.
07:48 Here we go.
07:48 Oh yes, that's what I want.
07:54 And then I just like am lathered.
07:58 Oh yeah.
07:59 I just want it to like sit.
08:01 I want it to soak.
08:02 I never ever ever sleep in my makeup
08:05 because it's a slippery slope.
08:07 If I start sleeping in my makeup,
08:08 I'll just be sleeping in my makeup all the time.
08:12 I get so lazy, but skincare is the one thing
08:17 that's like, I don't even need to brush my teeth,
08:19 but like you better believe I'm gonna wash out that makeup.
08:22 Your gorgeous face, your money maker, wash her,
08:27 bathe her, drench her in goodness.
08:32 Woo.
08:32 So I let this soak until it kind of, you know,
08:36 doesn't look totally insane.
08:39 And then I'll add an eye cream.
08:41 So right now I have my buddy, Dr. Dennis Gross.
08:46 This one has a little retinol again.
08:47 Swear by retinol, hyaluronic acid, and the LED.
08:52 Those are my go-tos.
08:56 And a sheet mask.
08:58 I didn't wanna make y'all suffer
08:59 through a 10 minute sheet mask.
09:01 I'm just watching me do a sheet mask,
09:03 but I try to do one every day.
09:05 And now that I'm like super wet and moist
09:08 and my skin feels so much happier,
09:12 now I go bake under my Solumalight like this.
09:16 And I'll turn on, to be honest with you, like trash TV.
09:21 And if I had a calm day, I'll read a book.
09:24 Makes no sense.
09:26 So that's it.
09:27 That's my nighttime routine.
09:29 Thanks for watching.
09:30 And be sure to come check out my tour,
09:32 The Only Love Tour.
09:35 I just changed the name because
09:36 I really think we gotta celebrate.
09:39 We gotta celebrate life, honey.
09:41 So I'll see you out there.
09:42 And hopefully I'll be glowing like a mother(beep)
09:47 Good night.
