00:02 - Ahuey is a folk fishing band

00:07 with the aim to preserve and promote

00:10 the richness of Garo tradition

00:12 by telling the stories of our ancestors and the practices.

00:17 - Mostly the Garos sow crops like the rice,

00:21 millets, topiokas, the tubers,

00:25 also other green vegetables.

00:27 And in this pre-sowing, there is ritual being followed,

00:31 the krita, amua.

00:33 - We also incorporate the folk music

00:38 so that people in the younger generation

00:41 know at a very deeper level as to what is Garo culture

00:46 and how do we keep them alive

00:48 and also to incorporate the traditional instruments

00:52 in the modern musical forms.

00:57 - Through every project, we are trying to portray

00:59 the lifestyle of the Garos and the culture of the Garos

01:02 through our music and through our actions,

01:05 through different forms of music.

01:06 So that is something that we intend to continue
