David Beckham says making his Netflix documentary helped him reflect on his Manchester United exit in 2003.

00:00 How have I healed from it? I suppose doing this documentary was part of that process.
00:07 I'd never really sat down and talked about it in such detail. Obviously my family and
00:14 friends knew what I went through, personally and professionally, but sitting down and going
00:21 through it in detail and looking at the archive and looking at stuff that I'd probably never
00:25 seen before, that was quite difficult. And then realising how difficult it was at the
00:30 time, on the pitch and off the pitch. So yeah, it was a really difficult time, but I suppose
00:36 this is all part of the healing process.
00:39 I think more than anything it was a fact of our friendship. Obviously we were all like
00:44 brothers at Manchester United, but David obviously was my best friend and it was special to be
00:48 part of a team with my own brother and obviously David. We were playing for the club we loved,
00:54 we were playing in a city that we loved and we obviously won a lot of trophies, so it
00:58 was an amazing time and I feel very privileged to have been part of his career.
