00:00 When I retired 10 years ago, people started to ask me if I was going to do a documentary
00:05 about my life and my career.
00:07 And in all honesty, I wasn't ready to look back.
00:10 I wasn't ready to look back.
00:11 I wasn't ready to kind of go over things.
00:15 And there'd been so much going on that I wasn't ready to also process that.
00:21 But then, obviously, heading towards the 10-year anniversary of me retiring, something felt
00:26 right about doing it.
00:30 And in all honesty, I wanted to have something for my family.
00:33 You know, my family and my friends that have all lived this, and my fans that have all
00:36 lived this.
00:38 Something that's in one place for them to watch, to go over, to have those memories.
00:42 Because of course, I found it challenging going back and looking at these things that
00:47 I had probably never even thought about before and never even processed.
00:51 And I think that was the tough part for me.
00:55 Going over things like, you know, '98.
00:57 There was so much about that at that time that was difficult.
01:01 But really, I was so protected by Sir Alex Virg's and Manchester United, the fans, my
01:06 teammates, that really, I just got on with my football.
01:10 And I'd never even thought about it.
01:12 To look back and to have had the career that I did at the time that I did, for me, Manchester
01:18 in the '90s, even being an East End boy, Manchester in the '90s was the best time.
01:23 You know, for music, for everything around Manchester at that time was so cool, was incredible.
01:30 And of course, playing for Manchester United, my boyhood team, and then being successful
01:35 and winning what we did, then obviously going on to have the career that I did.
01:39 In all honesty, I would never want to do that again, you know, any different.
01:45 You know, the way I did it was perfect, and the way I, where I lived and who I played
01:50 for and the players that I played with was an incredible time.
