00:00 Tonight we bring you the story of how David Beckham became a global phenomenon.
00:07 David Beckham, unstoppable!
00:11 I never really did well at school, because all I ever wanted to do was play football.
00:16 People kept on telling me, "You need to make a life documentary at some point about your journey, about your career, about your life."
00:24 I've never talked about these certain moments in my career and in my life, so I knew I wanted to make it.
00:32 I knew that I wanted to bring it out on the tenth year of my retirement, and who knew whether I could make that happen or not, but luckily we could.
00:43 Ferguson admitted he had kicked the boot, accidentally striking Beckham.
00:47 And then I've gone like that, and then I've gone like that.
00:50 You went at him?
00:51 Yeah.
00:52 It's really entertaining when the circus comes to town, right? Unless you're in it.
00:56 I hadn't actually watched it. I hadn't actually watched it.
01:00 And I hadn't actually watched the interviews and what people said about me after.
01:05 So that was actually part of the toughest part of... that was probably the toughest part of the documentary, one of the toughest parts of the documentary to talk through.
01:14 And it wasn't just stepping onto a football pitch, it was every time that I went out in my car and people stopped me and spat at my window and all of those things.
01:25 And then walking into a restaurant knowing that everybody in there hates you.
01:30 I knew it was bad at the time, but going over that whole thing was quite a tough one.
01:37 Here's Beckham.
01:38 He's done it now.
01:41 I don't give up.
