01:22 in real life, in the everyday patients.
01:25 The lopecia areata, beyond the clinical situation, can have very heavy impacts on the lives of those who suffer from both a psychological and social point of view, a reason that must push the institutions and the scientific world to make further great efforts to ensure the well-being of patients.
01:41 I believe this is the most important moment in politics, a policy that is based on listening, listening not only to those who work in this field, in this type of pathology, but also to those who are in the hospital, in this type of hospital, in this type of hospital, in this type of hospital.
01:51 And from this must come out a synthesis, a synthesis that must address, as much as possible, the well-being, not only physical, but also psychological and social, of these patients.
02:03 Patients who very often suffer in the psychological sphere, but also in the relational sphere.
02:09 During the meeting, beyond the reflections on the synergy between the medical and institutional world of research, the theme of public opinion and the recognition of the disease has also emerged, to provide further scientific support, not only to those who suffer from it.
02:25 The role of the university in the field of this condition, of alopecia areata, is to shed light on the pathogenic moments of this disease, but above all to try to restore this disease to its dignity.
02:43 It is not a stress disease, it is not a psychosomatic disease, but an autoimmune disease. And this serves to sensitize public opinion and, obviously, through the associations with which we obviously collaborate and try to give them what is scientific support, and therefore then to justify certain actions that they also do.
03:09 This seems important to me, and then to bring it to what are the governing theories, to try to make this pathology recognized, but above all to make this pathology take a role within the ILEA, so that our patients can expand their diagnostic possibilities.
03:30 Because alopecia areata is often accompanied by other autoimmune diseases, and these must always be researched.
