An assistant executive manager of a hotel pleaded not guilty in the Petaling Jaya Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (Oct 3) to the charge of outraging the modesty of his female colleague who is a former newsreader of a private television station.

00:14 Muhammad Faiza Hussein was accused of using criminal force against the 54-year-old victim
00:20 with intent to outrage her modesty at a hotel in Damansara at 1pm on July 13 this year.
00:28 Accused under section 354 of the penal code, the 53-year-old faces up to 10 years in jail
00:35 or a fine or whipping or any two of the punishments upon conviction.
00:40 Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Mariam Jamilah Mat Kamal proposed bail at RM6,000 with one
00:46 surety.
00:47 However, lawyer Nur Afiqa Muhammad Ashri, who represented Muhammad Faiza, appealed for
00:53 her client to be granted lower bail as he was supporting his parents, his wife, who's
00:59 a homemaker, and three school-going children.
01:02 The court set bail at RM4,000 with one surety and ordered the accused not to intimidate
01:08 the victim and witnesses in the case.
